    Inside: Ordering Area

3.5 stars I recently ordered takeout from here and the plain pizza was decent. I've tried some of the speciality pies before and those seem to be much more flavorful and popular relative to the classic cheese pie. If you're looking for a classic pizza place, I'd probably look elsewhere, but for more exciting flavors I'd go here. I did have to wait longer than expected, despite ordering on the phone beforehand. I was told someone new was working on the pizza and had burned it. I was in a bit of a rush, so this was frustrating. Not a typical experience, though, I'm sure. Last thing is parking here can be challenging, because it's a very busy street.

    Potato Skin

An absolute must try! The potato skin pizza is divine and not super greasy like other places I've been to.

This is a super cool and funky spot for pizza. The interior was painted in all sorts of fun colors. Being from New Jersey, I'm fairly particular when it comes to my pizza. It's been difficult to find a New York style slice in Boston, but the pizza here was actually better than I expected. Really happy to find out I didn't need to order a whole pie, so it's super convenient for grabbing a bite on the go. In terms of the actual pizza, the slice was pretty decently sized. It was a bit greasy, probably from the pepperoni, but not outrageously so. The sauce had a sweet flavor, but in a way that I actually enjoyed. The cheese and crust were fairly standard. I would go back to try some of their other pizzas - looked like they had tons of fun toppings!

Good big pizza! I got rid of a star as it is pretty pricey, considering it is located in Inman, I really wish there would be somewhere cheap to have good pizza in the area, everything is so expensive nowadays :(

Pizza is awesome. They have some very unique and original pizzas that are delicious The basic pizzas are very tasty and full of flavor as well. Always fresh with a good crisp. Not too thick not too thin. It is on the pricier side, but it's worth it for the quality.

Obsessed with all the unique vegan pizza options! I tried the impossible SPO which was delicious, highly recommend for plant based pizza :)

This place was SO busy on Friday night and yet they had my pizza ready to go when promised. Over the years I have kept coming back to All Star and at this point it is obviously my favorite spot to grab a slice. If you are in a hurry, they offer several slices to go and while the cheese is a staple, the meat, veggie and vegan option always offers something creative and new. And when I say slice think 2 slices - they are known for cutting their pie into 4! Easy parking outside, always quick and friendly service. Yes, All Star you deserve a 5 Star!

    Miss Piggy's figs pizza

There are so many unique toppings I want to return for. Food I've tried: - MISS PIGGY'S PIZZA ($25): pizza topped with prosciutto and figs. The crust was fresh, soft, and perfectly chewy. There was a generous portion fo toppings. The prosciutto added saltiness, balanced with the fig's sweetness. I personally gave 4 stars purely for the flavor of this pizza as it was a bit too salty for my taste, but I do have a lower salt tolerance. Atmosphere: - Cannot comment as I ordered takeout. Service: - Cannot comment as I ordered takeout. Overall: - Would not mind returning for the other flavors.

This is good pizza! The ingredients are quality. Dough is super fresh, soft and delicious. It's definitely sauce heavy, but the sauce is good so you won't mind. It's light on cheese, again because it's sauce heavy but still a solid pizza. It's a bit messy/sloppy so keep that in mind when serving kids! Speaking of kids, this pizza is 4 year old approved. Will definitely order again!

    Veggie Slice

Satisfying, fresh tasting slice with a Diet Coke for under $7. Got a veggie slice - it's a 4 star slice but it's big and at this price I'm not complaining. Friendly staff too. I didn't have it but they also had great meatless options like tofu and Impossible meats which I always appreciate. They also had vegan options.

    Ms Piggy's Fig

I've ordered from here several times over the past year and have finally decided to write them a review (after I finally remembered to take a photo of my pizza ). Disclaimer: I have only ordered their Ms Piggy's Fig pizza and it's because it's so good! This is my go to pizza whenever I see it on a menu and it might be the best one in the Boston area (although I still think Wildfire's Fig Pizza in Mashpee, of all places, is better). However, I'm not making a 3 hour round trip drive for pizza and so All Star is my go to for the fig and prosciutto pies. They look like they have other pizzas that sound good as well (I've been meaning to try the Buffalo Duck Confit pizza). I'll probably update this once I try it. The inside looks very unassuming when I come by for takeout. Looks like a neighborhood pizza place. Prices are definitely up there for pizzas at ~$23 for their specialty pies, but ingredients are top notch and their large is definitely...large. I'd definitely recommend at least for the fig/prosciutto combo pizza and I'm sure the others will be pretty good as well.

    Baked and tofused

My boyfriend and I order vegan pizza from from time to time, and I think it's my second favorite local pizza shop after flatbread pizza company in somerville. Their pizza is not cheap- a vegan pizza is 24 dollars - but we can usually split one between the two of us unless we're especially hungry. We've tried: - Baked and Tofused: A solid vegan pizza. I love this one cold the next day. - Son-of-a-choke: A vegan white sauce!!! Extra points for having that as an option. The actual pizza is really tasty. - Sweet n' Sassy: Boyfriend loved it, I thought it was too spicy, but I'm a wimp about heat. - Queen Margo: Basic, but solid. The only flavor we haven't tried is the Big Jerk, which we definitely will at some point, albeit without cilantro. Overall, I'd say that All Star Pizza Bar is solid, and a good place to come with friends or grab pizza to go. My tip: get one tomato based pizza and one bechamel based pizza and then put one slice of each together like a pizza sandwich. The tomato goes so well with the bechamel. I'll also eat leftovers like this the next day.

We ordered online from their actual website, and the online menu was very clearly labeled and was SO thorough in explanations and checkmark boxes for variations and letting the place know about allergies and such. That is rare to find, and people with allergies always have to worry about that kind of thing, it's a whole to-do. IYKYK. If you have celiac, it may not be a great option as they have cross contamination for their pizzas. Anyways, now the grand reveal: I got a gluten free and dairy free pizza with various toppings and it was GREAT!! It's rare to find a pizza place that can fill the place of regular pizza when you have gluten & dairy allergies, but this comes close! I'm very happy with what I ordered. It is pricey, and their extras are pricey to add on. However, I don't really care as it is rare to be able to enjoy pizza for me. They also provide little gf/df marshmallow treats as a little dessert, for free. That was a nice surprise. Companies don't do stuff like this, so it goes a long way in my book! Overall, great allergy friendly pizza place, and also for regular folks who want a regular pizza. Everyone will be happy.

It was the manager Ryan's recommendation & prepared with special care, & attention as I'm lactose intolerant. It was so delicious & I was surprised to have eaten everything within a few minutes as I'm a slow eater & do take me time to eat my meal. There is also brunch meal made with these special mushroom & very delicious too. Try it when you at Gufo during brunch. Thanks to the Gufo kitchen crew, the waiters & bar staff. They are always personable, pleasant & customer-friendly. To the manager, Ryan, keep up the amazing & awesome job you're doing. You're truly the best. The chocolate chip cookies are to die for. All this for $30! If you and your friends are in more of a nibbling mood, this is a fine option. Other great things we ordered: 1. Half chicken Milanese - I loved the layer of greens and creme on top, makes for a beautiful presentation. That said, this dish is best eaten right there at the table when it's hot and crispy. I had some for leftovers the day after and the texture definitely wilted. 2. Duck bacon pizza - can't go wrong with duck bacon but it's pretty rich and indulgent and, while I love pizza, one slice of this was enough. Next time, I'd try the pepperoni and vodka pie, which our waitress was super enthusiastic about. 3. Swiss chard Caesar salad - love that they add fish roe on top for an unexpected burst of flavor and saltiness. 4. Rigatoni - sauce had a lot of depth to it but very, very salty. 5. Cacio e pepe arancini - we ate this so quickly that I didn't have time to snap a photo. Dessert was soft serve, they're very generous with the portion. The layout of the restaurant is a little funny - when you come in, the host stand is in an empty space with the pizza oven right behind it, and then you walk a little further back into the actual bar/restaurant area. It's a pretty casual sit-down place, with both families and office dinners happening. Lots of street parking outside.

That soup was a work of art! I would go back just for that. Five stars for paying attention to the details, for the artistry of putting together just the right balance of flavor, texture, and visual presentation. This is way more than "a good pizza place."

The dining room is fairly small with some bar seating available as well. It was clean and bright. It took about 7 mins for the server to come over and she lead with "are you ready to order?" I guess simple pleasantries are useless anyway. We knew our drinks and appetizers order but not what we wanted for pizza yet so we ordered those and told her we'd order pizzas when the apps and drinks came. She came back about 3 minutes later and asked if we were ready to order yet. Feeling pressured, we ordered thinking that perhaps they close soon (not the case). The bartender delivered our drinks a few minutes later and about 5 mins after that both the appetizers and pizza arrived at the same time. Besides the fact that our table wasn't large enough to accommodate all that food and drink, it was never our intention to eat our appetizers with our meal. The good news is that the food was hot, fresh and tasty. The potato bombs were excellent. Crispy home fry like potatoes and the peppers had a nice heat. I would love to try the popper version next time. The pizzas were good too, but be prepared for floppy and slightly under done base crust but a perfectly charred edge crust. I find many wood fired pizza to come this way but I did see other reviews mention this as a negative. The bill comes in a small ball jar with a delicious rice crispy treat. While the jar worked it must have made it hard to see that I dropped my credit card in it, so after the waitress walked by a few times I removed the card and made it visible on the table. When the tab came to sign I was not given a pen. I should have walked out and just let them charge me for just the tab but I cannot stiff waitstaff, even when it's poor service. My only hope is that it was the waitress's first day and she somehow figures out the typical cadence and procedure involved in waiting tables.
