Chix bacon ranch with alla seasonings added

While in line for 2 hours for the Hellp Kitty Pop up truck in assembly row, we got hungry like many others in line and what do you know, Ernesto's pizza was there to supply! Walked in, single bathroom quick pizzeria. I copped us a slice (pretty much 2 slices) for 8 bucks. Got the chicken bacon ranch and it hit the spot. Crispy good tasting dough in my opinion, toppings was good. Reheated for us and was quick. Kid friendly, few tables and window counter to sit at. On the go kind of pizza shop.

Cheese Pizza - A woman with dark braided hair, wearing a sleeveless rust-colored top, is seated at a table in a restaurant. She is smiling and looking down at a slice of pizza on a white paper plate in front of her. The pizza appears to be a cheese slice with some darker spots on the crust. She has a tan crossbody bag, a watch, and a ring on her finger. In the background, another woman is eating pizza, and the restaurant has framed pictures on the wall and warm lighting.

Visited Boston and heard great things about Ernesto's. Wasn't expecting one slice to be so large but I'm not mad about it! The slice was super good! It's very small inside and not many places to sit so you maybe want to get your food to go. The line moves fast so there wasn't a long wait.

I was in line waiting for the Hello Kitty Cafe pop up and in total waited almost 3 hours to get to the front of the line. When we were in the middle, we were hungry and decided to get two pizza slices to snack on from Ernesto's. The chicken bacon ranch from here was SOO GOOD! I'm not even just saying that because we were so hungry... it was surprisingly very delicious. Pretty big slices too. I would definitely come back here whenever I am in Assembly Row. Still a month later after trying that one singular slice of pizza, I still remember how good it was.

Chicken Ranch Pizza (has bacon) - A single slice of pizza featuring melted cheese, slices of ham, and bits of bacon is placed on a white paper plate inside a cardboard pizza box. The crust appears crispy and slightly charred at the edges, with toppings evenly distributed across the slice.

We took a look at the pizza slices to choose from and the chicken ranch bacon slice looked the best. The slice was humongous as it always is at Ernesto's and costed with one water bottle in total, $8. I asked if they could cut the slice in half which they said was no problem. The pizza oven got our pizza slice all crisped up which was fantastic. When I tried the slice which also had thin slices of tomato on it, it reminded me of the grilled cheeses with tomato my mom used to make at home. The pizza was fabulous and the crunch you got from the pizza crust and bacon complimented the also soft cheese my bite. I miss eating this slice of pizza. Service was fast and nice enough for a pizza joint. There was a bathroom customers could use which was great as well as plenty of pizza spice toppings available.

Pepperoni Pizza - A large slice of pepperoni pizza with a golden, crispy crust, melted cheese, and pepperoni slices is served on a white paper plate. The pizza is in a cardboard pizza box, which is open on an outdoor metal table. A clear plastic cup with a beverage is visible in the background. The setting appears to be outdoors, with sunlight illuminating the scene.

Ernesto's is solid, but nothing special. I've stopped by a few times while in Assembly Row when I'm trying to grab a quick meal on the go. They don't really sell pizza by the slice, since you're essentially required to order two slices at a time. Sometimes all I really want is one slice, but I'm suckered into ordering two. The service is quick, but I've found they don't always heat the pizza all the way. I generally eat outside, but they do have some indoor seating available as well. It's a casual spot, so you can eat there or take it to go. The pizza itself is fairly mediocre, but it gets the job done. It's a bit on the greasy side, so be prepared with some napkins. I generally go for the pepperoni or meat lovers, so that could definitely contribute to the grease factor. Overall, an okay spot.

We paid a visit to Ernesto's to get some pizza and drinks. Tip: The inside of the venue is quite worn and looking a bit grubby; fortunately, that doesn't seem to have any negative effects on the food ;-) The slices we ordered were pretty good, though the salad I asked for never did appear.... Over and above the need for interior refurbishment, the staff doesn't seem to be working really hard at table and bathroom cleaning either - all things considered, next time we'll seek elsewhere for our pizza.

Pepperoni pizza - A large pepperoni pizza with a crispy crust and melted cheese is in an open cardboard pizza box. Several slices have been taken, with one slice partially removed and another slice remaining. The pizza has evenly distributed pepperoni slices on top. The box is placed on a surface, and part of a person's foot is visible at the bottom of the image.

My friends and I got take-out as we were at a nearby hotel in preparation for Encore. As I was not involved in the ordering or picking up process, I cannot speak for the organization or time management of that. However, it was hot and fresh by the time it made it to our room. It was a thin crust with slightly sweet tomato sauce. As someone who doesn't usually go for pepperoni pizza anymore, it might have reconverted me on to it. The crust had a fun chewy texture that made me keep coming back for more. In my opinion, I did not find it overly greasy and enjoyed each bite. Overall, I would like to order from here again and try some of their other options.

    Buffalo chicken slice

I've never been to Ernesto's in the north end but I thought this was pretty good. The buffalo chicken I liked less but it was still tasty. It just needed more chicken and maybe a ranch and buffalo sauce drizzle. The pepperoni was amazing!!! It was crispy and cheesy and just delicious. One complaint that I have about the pizza is that there's too much crust and it's not really seasoned but that's just person preference. Overall it was really yummy and I want to try the north end location now!!

12 different pizzas sold by slice. Got me the Old school - Several large pizzas with various toppings, including pepperoni, vegetables, and cheese, are arranged on metal shelves inside a glass display case at Ernesto's Pizza. The reflection of the interior and windows can be seen on the glass surface. The pizzas are displayed for selection, with some labeled with small tags.

There were 12 different pizzas you could choose from to buy per slice. I got the old school that had tomatoes, basil, and Parmesan cheese. The toppings were good. What makes this slice amazing is the crust. Crispy with great undercarriage. The kind of pizza I'd expect in Boston. Loved it. They took only 3 minutes to warm it up and place on cheap paper plates. There were friendly and fast. Perfect for a pizza place. Place is clean with indoor and outdoor seating. I'd come here any day of the weeks for a quick bite or with friends. 10/10.

A cardboard pizza box displays Ernesto's Pizzeria branding, including the name 'ERNESTO'S' in large green letters, with 'Old World' and 'Pizzeria' in red text. The box also indicates the location as North End Boston, Assembly Row Somerville. The design is printed directly on the brown cardboard surface, with a simple, classic style. The box is placed on a countertop with a dark background visible at the top of the image.

We go the one in the north end of Boston. Been going for many, many, years. Always GOOD !!! The BEST pizza in the north end. It's small. On Salem Street in the North End of Boston. Always a line. Always delicious. Not a fancy place but ICONIC !!! You can eat in - a few tables - or share a table - or take it out. Just sooooo good.

I truly have no complaints about Ernestos. I used to live in Assembly and it was my "treat yourself" lunch spot for a slice (which is really 2 giant slices by Ernestos standards) and a Caesar salad. The pizzas are so great, I love the basic cheese pizza or a pepperoni. The crust is crunchy and soft. The sauce is flavorful. No notes! Honestly, my family visited Boston recently and my mom went to Ernestos 3 times because she loves it that much.

We ordered online from their actual website, and the online menu was very clearly labeled and was SO thorough in explanations and checkmark boxes for variations and letting the place know about allergies and such. If you have celiac, it may not be a great option as they have cross contamination for their pizzas. Anyways, now the grand reveal: I got a gluten free and dairy free pizza with various toppings and it was GREAT!! It's rare to find a pizza place that can fill the place of regular pizza when you have gluten & dairy allergies, but this comes close! I'm very happy with what I ordered. It is pricey, and their extras are pricey to add on. However, I don't really care as it is rare to be able to enjoy pizza for me. They also provide little gf/df marshmallow treats as a little dessert, for free. That was a nice surprise. Companies don't do stuff like this, so it goes a long way in my book! Overall, great allergy friendly pizza place, and also for regular folks who want a regular pizza. Everyone will be happy.

It was so delicious & I was surprised to have eaten everything within a few minutes as I'm a slow eater & do take me time to eat my meal. All this for $30! If you and your friends are in more of a nibbling mood, this is a fine option. Other great things we ordered: 1. Half chicken Milanese - I loved the layer of greens and creme on top, makes for a beautiful presentation. That said, this dish is best eaten right there at the table when it's hot and crispy. I had some for leftovers the day after and the texture definitely wilted. 2. Duck bacon pizza - can't go wrong with duck bacon but it's pretty rich and indulgent and, while I love pizza, one slice of this was enough. Next time, I'd try the pepperoni and vodka pie, which our waitress was super enthusiastic about. 3. Swiss chard Caesar salad - love that they add fish roe on top for an unexpected burst of flavor and saltiness. 4. Rigatoni - sauce had a lot of depth to it but very, very salty. 5. Cacio e pepe arancini - we ate this so quickly that I didn't have time to snap a photo. Dessert was soft serve, they're very generous with the portion. The layout of the restaurant is a little funny - when you come in, the host stand is in an empty space with the pizza oven right behind it, and then you walk a little further back into the actual bar/restaurant area. It's a pretty casual sit-down place, with both families and office dinners happening. Lots of street parking outside.

The dining room is fairly small with some bar seating available as well. It was clean and bright. It took about 7 mins for the server to come over and she lead with "are you ready to order?" I guess simple pleasantries are useless anyway. We knew our drinks and appetizers order but not what we wanted for pizza yet so we ordered those and told her we'd order pizzas when the apps and drinks came. She came back about 3 minutes later and asked if we were ready to order yet. Feeling pressured, we ordered thinking that perhaps they close soon (not the case). The bartender delivered our drinks a few minutes later and about 5 mins after that both the appetizers and pizza arrived at the same time. Besides the fact that our table wasn't large enough to accommodate all that food and drink, it was never our intention to eat our appetizers with our meal. The good news is that the food was hot, fresh and tasty. The potato bombs were excellent. Crispy home fry like potatoes and the peppers had a nice heat. I would love to try the popper version next time. The pizzas were good too, but be prepared for floppy and slightly under done base crust but a perfectly charred edge crust. I find many wood fired pizza to come this way but I did see other reviews mention this as a negative. The bill comes in a small ball jar with a delicious rice crispy treat. When the tab came to sign I was not given a pen. I should have walked out and just let them charge me for just the tab but I cannot stiff waitstaff, even when it's poor service. My only hope is that it was the waitress's first day and she somehow figures out the typical cadence and procedure involved in waiting tables.
