I've been to Mortadella's twice so far. Both times were near closing (I'm sorry) and I was pleasantly surprised at how lively and upbeat the staff were (most aren't near closing time haha). My first time in was with a friend to grab a slice of their chocolate cake. She was raving about it all night and it lived up to the hype. The cake is firm but moist and fudgy. Second time, I stopper by on a whim for a slice of pizza. I got cheese and bacon ranch. The slices were delicious. I have been on a hunt for a perfect pizza slice, the kind that droops naturally when you lift it and has the perfect sauce to cheese to crust ratio, this was it. Also thought the pricing was reasonable + they have a great rewards program you can sign up for! I am definitely going to be a regulal here moving forward. I've heard great things of Mortadella Head's ceasar sub, excited to go back and try it!

Came here to try the chopped Caesar sub, and for me it did not live up to the hype. First couple bites seemed promising, as the dressing is pretty good, but then I got overwhelmed by the sheer amount of dressing in the sandwich and found myself trying to scrape off gobs of it. They're definitely more heavy handed on the sauce, so request light dressing or have it on the side if you're not lots of dressing. I also found the cutlets to be pretty sparse and dry, and the bread was just not good in texture or flavor. Service was fine, it took 20 mins to come out which was longer than I expected, and the space is small but has some seating. I might sound old, but the music was very loud and abrasive, so I didn't finish the other half of the sandwich and left. For $15 it wasn't my kinda sandwich so I probably won't be back.

Chopped Ceasar with Chicken Cutlet Sub is a 10000/10 recommend! Mozzarella sticks are also the best I've ever had. Super affordable prices too! I live no where near somerville and parking is hard but will most definitely will hike to it. It's conveniently across from Davis Square T stop. Super cute shop set up. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly highly recommend!

The sandwich was fresh and was really tasty, however, there wasn't anything super special about it. Solid option for warm sandwiches though!

This location serves two types of pizzas - the normal slices, and the thick ones. I prefer the thinner slices, but some prefer the more saucy, thicker chunks. They run out of "flavors" often, so they might be out of pepperoni/whatever flavor you're looking for. It's pretty cheap per slice, and the slices are filling too. I love how they make their pizzas too.

I stopped by Mortadella Head after a bike ride on the Minuteman. All in all, I was pretty impressed! The pizza was of decent quality and the restaurant itself was pretty nice. It's definitely a casual vibe, with lots of people grabbing takeout. No issues with the service, my pizza was ready right away. I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back, but always looking for a solid slice!

I ordered delivery from Mortadella head for the chop Caesar sub and small fries. I feel like the sub has been all over my TikTok feed so consider me influenced, but it was worth it! The bread is nice and toasted with garlic butter, good level of dressing, lots of chicken, and some prosciutto under it all! It was great. Definitely stuffed and hard to eat without making a mess but oh well. The fries were pretty decent, thick but kinda soft (it's delivery, I'm not blaming them for that). The order also came really quickly. I'd definitely order again.

I normally get the chopped caesar here and like it. This last time there were pieces of mostly raw chicken in the sub.

I assume I would've had a great experience if I had ordered in person! I had read a few poor experiences from DoorDash / ordering delivery specific to getting the wrong order, but took the risk. I only ordered a Chop Caesar and a gingerale. The receipt on the bag was correct but I was given a different sub. Something called a "123 Ultimate" Not a huge issue. But obviously not what I ordered. Was looking forward to trying the viral Chop Caesar as a chicken caesar salad wrap lover and wouldn't have waited over an hour for a ham and cheese sub

Great deli. Quick service and food was yummy. Tried their Caesar Sub and was not disappointed! The fried Chicken cutlet worked really well with the carder salad and bacon. The bread wasn't bad but it wasn't the best.

The chopped Caesar sub lives up to the hype! We also had a steak sub, and the steak was seasoned really well. Our meal had me considering getting them to cater my next family party! Their single slice servings are also huge. Will be coming back often.

This place is amazing! We had to try the chopped Caesar sub which was delicious - great dressing, plenty of chicken, delicious sub, and perfectly salty Proscuttio. They also offered us some pizzas - we tried the buffalo and meatball, delicious! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming and we'll definitely be back to try some more!

Honestly I've had their pizza before and was not very impressed but I love a chicken Caesar wrap so I figured I'd try their viral Chopped Caesar Sub. It was fine bit definitely need ed more meat and was half as full as they advertise. Also had way too much dressing. Overall, I wouldn't order again, especially for the price and what you get. The Caesar dressing isn't anything special and the chicken cutlet was very breast and dryer , you could easily replicate at home.

Order pepperoni, get cheese on both. This place sucks at looking at orders. Made it online.

A vanishing legend, 1919-2026. But this was my first time being here…read more Corned Beef Reuben: The beef slices were very thin, so there's not much texture or juice; it was like supermarket ham slices. The bread was ordinary; it wasn't toasted with butter, so the aroma was significantly reduced, but the sauce prevented it from being dry. The pickles weren't too sour, and the coleslaw was refreshing and sweet, which I liked. Pastrami Reuben: Completely different from the pastrami I had in Philadelphia. This is more like a reduced-salt version of bacon slices--firmer and oilier, but still quite fragrant. S&S Wings: Signature chicken wings. The sauce was very generous, creating a strong sweet and sour flavor. The fermented flavor of the blue cheese sauce was also very strong. It might be a bit too heavy for my taste. But the meat was tender, and the batter was still a bit crispy, which was interesting. Egg Benedict: A classic breakfast; a soft-boiled egg can't be bad. However, the potato chunks were totally unseasoned, and the hollandaise sauce was ridiculously sour. Potato Pancakes: A unique recipe. I expected something like hash browns or thin shredded potato pancakes, but they were surprisingly thick. They were fried to a fragrant perfection, soft and chewy inside but with a hard crust. The sour cream wasn't sour enough, and the apple sauce was sweet; I couldn't really accept dipping them in it... Blueberry Pancakes: Blueberries were directly added to the pancakes, a first for me. However, the pancakes had a rather rough texture, and I didn't understand why the sweet ones were paired with sausage (or bacon). The sausage was firm, with a strong ginger flavor--very addictive! It's worth mentioning that many toppings/sauces, such as potato chips, honey, and butter, were just pre-made, sometimes without even being unpacked, which felt rather perfunctory. In short: Huge portions, decent taste, worth trying for nostalgia. However, perhaps due to the recent surge in customers, the staff was overwhelmed, resulting in a less than ideal service experience, especially the long wait for seating and ordering (even with a reservation). Those who mind should think twice before going.
