Coppa is such a cute restaurant located on the corner of a tucked away street in the South End. I appreciate the quietness and NYC vibe to it. The inside is pretty small so make sure you get a reservation ahead of time. In the warmer months you can sit outside but we sat at the bar since it was too cold outside and the regular seating was all booked up. The bar seating is tight so beware if you have a big jacket or bag with you! We ordered the celery Cesar, cavatelli, and margarita pizza. The celery Cesar was interesting. It's literally thin pieces of celery tossed in Cesar dressing. It immediately reminded me of the small side you get when you order buffalo wings -- not exactly in a good way. The cavatelli was delicious and perfect to split. My friend and I split the salad, pasta and pizza which was great. The portions were just right and this meant for an inexpensive dinner for each of us which you love to hear. The margherita pizza was good but nothing that'll blow you away. The slices are tinyyyy though. My friend took home the pizza leftovers (2 slices) but we almost left them on the plate because that's how small they were. Order dinner take out from Coppa and I have to absolutely say my favorite is the soppressata pizza. The sausage is nicely balanced not too salty but with a hint of sweetness. Such a great experience at Coppa Enoteca! This was such a great way to end our trip to Boston. We arrived at 8:15 which is the perfect time for a late dinner as their kitchen closes at 9 on Sundays. We started with the Zucchino with tomato, zucchini, burrata, squash blossoms, chili, garlic breadcrumbs, and oregano. We needed up with Zeppole which is ricotta donuts, strawberries, Sorrento lemon curd, vanilla, and poppy seeds. Everything was DELICIOUS. I could not recommend this restaurant more. Our server rarely came by even though they (seemingly) had less patrons as closing time approached. However, a different staff member was able to help me surprise my partner with a birthday candle on one of the desserts (tiramisu). I wish the tiramisu had been a classic rather than chocolate/nutella focused, as it was very heavy. The food was great, although the pizza did not stand out. I would highly recommend making a reservation as the interior is small with limited number of tables. Coppa strikes a perfect balance with an energetic atmosphere that doesn't feel overwhelming, unlike the somewhat chaotic (yet loveable) vibe of the North End. We called ahead to secure a table outside and the staff was super friendly on the phone. Unsurprisingly, the staff was just as friendly upon arrival as they escorted us to our table. Even after the sun had fully set, there was perfectly dim lighting for the outside tables. I often don't enjoy outdoor seating when close to the street, however, I was pleasantly surprised by how cozy and secluded Coppa's patio felt. I highly recommend sitting outdoors while the weather allows it. This is a great spot for a first date. The drink menu seems to rotate frequently, and while I can't find the exact cocktails we ordered online, they were delicious. My only qualm was that the portion size could've been a hair larger. Who doesn't like their cocktail filled to the brim! For starters, we chose the celery Caesar and the arancini. I was surprised by how much I loved the celery Caesar--it was refreshing and light, yet still delivered all the bready, cheesy goodness you'd expect from a classic Caesar. I had high expectations for the arancini and it did not disappoint. They were the perfect size to have enough crisp in each bite and well balanced with the fontina and butternut squash. The black garlic aioli beneath them was killer as well. For our main, we decided to split a Parma pizza which had tomato, mozzarella, dressed arugula, prosciutto di Parma. It was a little difficult to get the arugula in each bite (especially as a NY native and therefore pizza folder) but good nonetheless. The crust was a perfect thickness and had great char! You cannot do Italian tapas without getting a couple zeppoles as a nightcap. They were perfectly light and I LOVED the vanilla poppy cream that accompanied them. Overall, SUCH a great dining experience. The staff was beyond attentive, friendly, and patient (I might've overstayed my welcome 20 minutes past closing). I was able to score some last minute reservations here. The host was nice and server was attentive. The pasta was good the dishes were a little pricey and I didn't necessarily think it was worth it. I ordered cocktails as well, and they were good but not worth the price. The restaurant itself was very small and intimate. This place is nice if you're looking for something lowkey and in the area. Whenever I'm in town, this place is a definite must-visit for me. The quality of the pastas and pizzas here is outstanding, and I have never been disappointed. I always make sure to order the celery Caesar salad, which is light yet bursting with flavors. The selection of prosciutto and other meats/cheeses is excellent. I had one of the most memorable foie gras dishes of my life at this restaurant. I'm not GF but friends of mine are and it's such a gem of a menu to have this option. The staff is always accommodating with service and questions with the food they have on those nights. GF crust on the pizza this time was a bit less desiring, not sure if they changed it but still tasty toppings!! I really liked this place. Cute and cozy inside and we sat very quickly with a reservation. We got the arancini, tagliatelle and the carbonara, as well at the salsiccia pizza and finished with the tirimisu. Arancini were crispy and cheesy, sauce was great but the entire thing wasn't mind blowing, just solid. The tagliatelle was probably the most "basic" dish of the night with well done pork ragu, probably would please anyone but again not mind blowing. The carbonara with uni in my opinion was stand out and very creamy and delicious. Uni adds that extra bit to take it to the next level. The salsiccia pizza surprised me because Im not a thin wood fire crust lover but this one was chewy and crispy but not burnt. The onions and shishito peppers were a nice touch and we did ask for honey to drizzle to take it one extra step and it was great. Perfect cheese to sauce ratio and really was the one dish I would come back for. The tiramisu was so unique because it has a layer of thick nutella that took it from a basic classic to a unique take and everyone at our table liked it. I am not a huge tiramisu fan but I did like it, just personally wouldn't have been my first choice. I think overall prices were reasonable with maybe the arancini and tagliatelle being a bit steep for what they were though i'd just skip those completely and something else if you want something more unique. My biggest qualm was the service being s bit chaotic, the server left mid- conversation at one point and just seemed very rushed. They even cleaned our table and asked us if we wanted dessert before we even got our mains which I know was an honest mistake but added to the feeling of being rushed overall. Won't claim this to be some of the best Italian in the city, but good option for some friends and family nights where you need a little something for everyone. read more

We got the Caesar salad and the three cheese and three meat charcuterie board. Definitely plenty of food--the meat servings were very generous! Only comment I have is that it would've been nice if the cheese and meat portions were more similar--I felt like the meat dwarfed the cheese. She was a wizard, making drinks, taking orders, cleaning, helping everyone. I was truly amazed. Into the food, the Celery Caesar may be the best salad I've ever had. Whosever idea it was to make a salad using celery instead of lettuce was a genius. Every bit was crunchy and flavorful. The dressing was great. The portion was enormous, but I had none leftover because it was so good. The pasta had lamb and was the best pasta I've had in a long time. So fresh and simple. I wish I had room for more because so many of their dishes sounded amazing. Really love this place as a cute South End eatery. It blends in nicely with the brick brownstones of the old Boston neighborhood and is excellent for a nice casual-nice date. We brought our 1-year-old and the staff treated us very well, giving us a spacious outdoor table and high chair. They were attentive and kept our waters filled. The mushroom pasta dish was a favorite of ours. Delicious, creamy, and super umami. Their Neapolitan-style pizzas are absolutely delicious, and actually somehow manage to avoid the super soggy center thats so characteristic of this style of pie (even though I know it's traditional). Pros: nice outdoor seating, waitress was nice Cons: booked for 3 people and they kept trying to seat us at a table for 2 people. You cannot fit three entree plates on this table, let alone drinks and appetizers and sides. Complimentary bread was not good (which is fine if it's complimentary). The Fusilli alla Nerano was way too expensive for a vegetarian dish, especially when that's how much the meat options were ($30). It was also way too salty and way too oily. Was going to give this place 4 stars because the staff was nice and the food was great, but thanks to Juan who saved the day I need to give this place 5 stars. Service was pretty bad. I wanted to give the waiter the benefit of the doubt, but I couldn't find a reason to. He didn't check up on us at all and only when I found a pretty large piece of plastic in my pizza did he show up. They only give you an hour and a half to dine so I was so confused on the type of service we received which they took forever to get us drinks and food. Once we got our first round of drinks after close to 20 minutes of being there, we put in our food order immediately and it came out at a decent rate, but a bit slow. I wouldn't complain about the rate at which the food comes out because I'm normally distracted talking to my company, but when our drinks were finished and we're never asked if we wanted another drink you notice. Towards the end of our dining experience when I found the plastic in my pizza, our waiter then shows up and he sent Juan our way. I told Juan about our service, apologized and took very good care of us. I heard so many good things about Coppa and was confused by the service. I also noticed two women next to us which seemed to also receive similar service by the same waiter and wanted to get their opinion, but they were set to leave. We even sat at the bar which you typically get checked on often, but the bar tender never reached us or looked our way. Other than the rant on our waiter, as I said Juan took great care of us to make up for it and I'm also giving this place 5 stars because the food was my favorite thing we ordered was the squid ink pasta with clams. So tasty. The Morty pizza looked amazing and was told it was great, but I don't eat pork and couldn't have any. Was really craving to try their pizza so I had to put an order in for their white mushroom pizza. It came out well done and over cooked compared to the Morty and my friend told me it wasn't near as good as the Morty. I've gotta go back and get that Morty without the pork! This is such a gem tucked away in the South End! We made a reservation for a weekend dinner far in advance and I'm so glad we did as this little place seems to be constantly buzzing with people. We were seated inside near their big windows facing the street, which ended up being such a cozy spot. Service was slightly slower than usual, but the staff were very warm and welcoming, even letting us taste some wine before getting a glass. To pair with some drinks, we ordered arancini and split a bowl of pasta and a pizza, which ended up being the perfect amount for us. Literally every dish here was mouthwatering and delicious.. I couldn't have asked for anything more. The tagliatelle pasta was probably my favorite and a must-try. The noodles were so fresh and the tasty, tangy sauce coated them perfectly. Went here on a "date night" after work this past weekend. All I can say is ... WOW!!! Also, when can I got back?! Went in having no expectations, as I have been disappointed in the hype of a few South End restaurants. So happy that this was not a disappointment but instead ... a delicious, pleasant surprise. First, my BF made a reservation, but they only had outdoor seating. He made it anyway cuz of the "warm" days we've been having, but it ended up being a rainy day. Before he could cancel, the restaurant called him to see if he wanted the indoor seating that just opened up. I am so appreciative and thankful that they called. Such great customer service!!! Second, the drinks and food were amazing!!! I got wine. I normally hateeeee getting a glass of wine at places because of the price and the weak pours, but Coppa surprised me with its generous pour ... so much so that I got a second glass. Hehehe!!! With regards to the food, I think they're considered "small plates", but the portions of good size. We still shared, but we didn't feel like we were getting scammed with the portions. The flavors of the dishes were extremely yummy and had a little extra pizzazz ... making me want more. I definitely recommend the salad and truffle pasta that I got. (See pix.) Downsides ... just that the place was so tiny ... and the tiramisu. Sorry. My BF really liked the tiramisu because he loves Nutella. It just wasn't my thing. Wasn't very tiramisu-y.
