We came here for the $1 Oyster happy hour special. Ordered 50 of them as one of my boys and I love them. They are rather small but what can we say for $1. Also ordered cheeseburger and pizza. There didn't look fantastic but did the job of braking up the flavor profile so we could enjoy yet more oysters. :) Location is great. Nice look out for people watching if you can snag a table out on the patio or near the large windows.
This is one of the only places that accepted Reservations the day before for breakfast. It's a very conveniently located. The food was fresh and tasty with great attention to presentation. The restaurant is spacious inside the hosts were great. our only recommendation is for them to get an espresso machine. I know we were not the only ones who asked for espresso in the morning. They do have hot coffee though.
Great experience. Loved the restaurant. The apps are great beer and apperal spritz. The staff is fast and Curtios. The restaurant is right on the Boston fish pier off of the aquarium station. It's a great location after just sit by the water and see the boats and I saw the tall ships.
I wasn't sure what to expect given the odd mix of cuisines in the menu, but I ended up really enjoying my meal. The sangria was okay and the crab rangoon dip was exactly what I expected, but the squid ink tagliatelle surprisingly impressed me. The pasta itself had a nice flavor, making me wonder if they source it from somewhere or just prepare it well enough to mask its box origins. I hadn't even been that hungry, but it was genuinely so good that I cleaned the plate. Wowowow. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a low-light, wood-heavy interior featuring a mix of table, booth, and bar seating. It's the perfect ambience for a date night. A cute thing to note is the box of free English breakfast tea bags at the door, which I thought was charming and oh-so Boston.
The restaurant is on the corner near the Marriott Long Wharf and the New England Aquarium. It's the perfect place to end your evening. It's dark and inviting. The service was great. Our server, Juan, was friendly and had some great suggestions. The starters were the real gem here. Our entrees were ok and there were not many to chose from. Nothing wowed me. But oh lord the well fleet oysters, lobster bisque, and the arancini. They were delicious. My husband like his burger. The kids tenders were devoured by my kiddo. I had the short rib bolognese. It was flavorful but the egg noodles were incredibly over cooked. We didn't try any dessert. Nothing really spoke to us. We would definitely go back. Make sure to make a reservation! They get pretty packed by both locals and tourists.
Outdoor and indoor dining by the seaport area. Fast service and big portion size. Outdoor dining offers a good spot to do people watch and tourists who get onto the duck tours.

We stopped here after a trip to the New England Aquarium. I wanted to have a lobster roll! The food here was on the pricier side but the portions were good and everything was high quality. The waiter was very kind and comped the drinks (and looked very handsome LOL). He also refilled the coffee continuously! The ceviche was excellent -- the sauce was delicious and the garlic and raw salmon was very good. The lobster roll is 6oz and 36 dollars, it was so rich and buttery! The clam chowder was fantastic and looked beautiful. Fish and chips was not bad! Overall a bit expensive but it was a great taste of Boston! The interior was a bit moody and romantic
Had dinner here with a few colleagues and everything was amazing. From the food to the service, I have no complaints! Their Korean BBQ wings were some of the best I've ever had. They had an amazing crust that was both crispy and sticky, yet the meat inside stayed extremely juicy. The wings themselves were also extremely meaty. I went for the Thai Green Curry Mussels for my main and it was fantastic. Very well executed and the flavors were very well balanced yet pronounced. Highly recommend as an appetizer or entree. The drinks were fantastic too! Check this place out if you're in the area.
Provisions delivered a memorable dining experience with thoughtful wine pairings and warm, attentive service from start to finish. I selected their "Dine Out Boston" prix fire menu. The course began with the charred octopus appetizer, which was easily one of the highlights of the night. The octopus had a beautifully crispy, charred exterior while remaining soft and juicy inside. It was coated in an aromatic, slightly sweet glaze that reminded me of balsamic, adding depth without overpowering the dish. The daikon brought a subtle sweetness with hints of soy and sugar that balanced everything nicely. The greens were slightly dry and a bit overcooked, but still a pleasant addition overall. Generous portion and very well executed. I also got to try the smoked fish croquettes which were another standout. Shaped almost like crispy potato balls, they had the perfect crunch on the outside and a creamy, soft filling inside. The fish flavor was light and delicate, not overly "fishy", making them incredibly enjoyable and well-balanced. For wine, I had an Austrian Grüner selection that was sweet and crisp, yet smooth. It paired beautifully with the octopus, enhancing the glaze and balancing the char. I had to get another glass of this after my entire meal. The prosciutto-wrapped cod was visually stunning - vibrant, colorful, and thoughtfully plated with fingerling potatoes, slices of chorizo, and a bright orange confit beneath the fish. While the presentation and portion size were great, this entrée fell a bit short in flavor. The cod itself was tender and juicy, but it needed some seasoning. The prosciutto created a slightly dry crust, and a steak knife was necessary to cut through it comfortably. The confit and vegetables leaned a little too tangy and overpowered the dish. I found the fingerlings ame chorizo to be slightly over-salted, and while the chorizo had good flavor, I felt that there were too many overpowering flavors coming through. Overall, this wasn't my favorite dish of the night, though the wine paired with it was excellent. Dessert completely redeemed the experience. The mascarpone berry cake was sweet, spongy, and moist with a warm center. It was topped with a citrusy vanilla whipped cream and fresh strawberries, which added brightness and balance. Absolutely delicious. The Moscato-like dessert wine - lightly bubbly, fruity, soft, and sweet - paired perfectly and elevated the cake even more. Overall, Provisions shines in its appetizers, wine pairings, and exceptional service (thank you, Katie!). While the cod entrée didn't quite meet my expectations, the experience as a whole was enjoyable and thoughtfully curated. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you appreciate well-executed small plates and expertly paired wines!
We stopped after a Ghost & Gravestones tour. It was a bit after 7:30, we were hungry, needed to go to the bathroom and this place in eyesight. I ordered the lobster bisque, it was amazing. Might have been one of my favorite things I ate this trip. The clam chowder was also good. The pizza was delicious, extremely thin crust. The balsamic and ricotta cheese combo, so good. The sausage was flavorful and the broccoli rabe got me a much needed veggie. My boyfriend got the burger and he said it was good, fries were ok. The service was great, fast and attentive. This is a nice place but you can be dressed casually. We saw many folks dressed up, coming from graduations to some teens in pajamas. This is a good option if you're looking for reasonably priced food down by the wharf.
The atmosphere is welcoming, plenty of outdoor and bar seating. I really enjoyed the Autum greens salad with chicken and crispy potatoes on the side. My company tried the spicy chicken sandwich with house-made hot sauce. Both dishes were fantastic! The drinks by Morgan were on point. We enjoyed our lunch experience at State Street. Provisions. Our server, Ella, made everything better with her thorough, kind, and attentive service. The food was excellent. We shared all we ordered and everything was brought to the table in shared portions. The oysters were delicious and fresh. We could have had more but we had more food coming. The clam chowder was unique and very good. The lobster roll was one of the best we ever ate. It was served with home made fresh potato fries. We told Ella it was my birthday. After lunch, Ella made the experience special with an ice cream topped brownie and lit candle. Thank you Ella and State Street Provisions for making a spectacular day more enjoyable. read more
The food here was sooo good! The monkey bread was delicious & we devoured it in seconds, definitely recommend. The crispy potatoes and fries were also delicious. The coffee only comes black (you can get sugar & cream), no flavors available, but staff makes you aware of that before you order! They are very allergy friendly as well. Very modern and clean on the inside. Definitely a must go!!! The one downside is the parking, there is only street parking / whatever parking garage you can find. read more
For a post-work dinner, I made a reservation for a party of 3 on Wednesday at 7pm. It proved useful as the establishment looked almost full when I arrived. Nonetheless, I received my table immediately. State Street's tap beer selection had decent regional representation - Zero Gravity, Jacks Abbey, Lawsons, Maine Beer, Night Shift, and Dorchester Brewing. For this dinner, I sampled the brussel sprouts (appetizer, $13), the scallop tagliatelle ($38), and sides of broccolini and house-cut fries ($6 ea). The brussel sprouts arrived in the textbook modern fashion - crisped up leaves and well seasoned. The establishment chose to garnish theirs with soy caramel, miso yogurt, and cilantro. The broccolini side also received a decent coating of oil and seasoning - the exact treatment that a high end steakhouse would give. The house cut fries proved liberally salted and not overly oily. My main, the scallop tagliatelle, had scallops seared to perfection and with a hint of smokiness. The pasta itself carried seafood savoriness, accentuated by a cream sauce that coated well but didn't feel too heavy on the palate. The atmosphere seemed nice and upscale but not unapproachable. My outdoor table faced State Street. Since it was the final part of the street before reaching the waterfront, it saw little traffic so I was not annoyed by cars passing a few feet away. Overall, I quite enjoyed my dinner. I'll be sure to keep State Street in mind the next time I'm looking for a modern New England seafood restaurant. read more

We absolutely loved this restaurant for happy hour! Esteban was a wonderful and engaging bartender. We enjoyed the happy hour $1.00 local oysters so much we had 2 dozen the first night and another dozen tonight. He made us fantastic Tito's martinis and our plan is to return for Sunday for brunch and football. If you are in the Long Wharf area you must check out State Street Provisions. The servers are phenomenal and the food is excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant. read more
Brunch review - we came here on a Sunday morning for a quick brunch before heading to the aquarium. We made reservations the night before & had no wait. Service was quick, food was solid, ambiance was good if we wanted to stay longer, but we were in & out fairly quickly. Great option for breakfast/brunch in the area. read more
Specifically came here for the $1 oysters for happy hour. Also ordered french fries as well. Oysters did take a bit of time before they arrived at the table. We visited on a thursday afternoon and it wasnt too busy. The outdoor seating was very nice and super close to the water. Overall everything was fine, oysters were a little on the smaller side, but still made an enjoyable happy hour. read more

Glad we found this restaurant!! We worked up an appetite while walking around all morning.. stopped here for lunch. It was open, clean, everyone was friendly and nice.. our waitress (I forget her name but she's from Ireland) was awesome and very accommodating! Everyone devoured their meals. Everything came out in a timely manner, prices were normal, nothing outrageous but i would just consider it "city prices". I would definitely come back here for dinner next time because their menu looked fantastic. read more

State Street Provisions is located on its namesake's location wise in a pretty busy area of Boston right by the Aquarium and Quincy Market. Their outdoor patio is causal with umbrellas. The interior is much more old school tavern like. The food offerings are classic Boston with seafood like seafood platters, lobster rolls and very good salads. We got a Caesar and a beets & arugula. They are also kid friendly. read more
Ambiance: we went around 8pm and the ambiance was nice. not super busy in there nor loud Service: our server was so nice & amazing. she checked in on us multiple times and our food came out fast. Food: i got the clam chowder soup and it was okay. i didn't love the green stuff that was on it. the lobster was good but there's def other places that are better. everyone else really enjoyed their dish though! we got the crème brûlée for dessert and that was super good! read more
this was a great place to stop and get drinks as a group! we thoroughly enjoyed the selection of beverages (the frozen mudslide was DANGEROUSLY good), and i really loved my lemon drop martini! i didn't get food but i heard it was fantastic. for a large party our service was quick and happy to serve which was great for a saturday afternoon. i'm excited to return and try more of the menu! read more

Definitely a cool spot with great food and service. We were staying at the hotel across the street from here, so we found ourselves here twice, lol. We were happy to have Boris at the Bar both nights. He definitely makes up some great drinks. We also tried the clam chowder, fresh oysters, crab rangoon dip and Korean BBQ wings. We came here during happy hour (3-5pm) for the $1 oysters. The oysters were very small and okay. The clam chowder was delicious with lots of clam. The fish and chips were average, but the french fries were disappointing and not very crispy. Service was good and friendly. read more

pretty good brunch spot in Seaport! definitely a little pricey but i feel like all the Boston restaurants were around the same price range. there was no wait at all for 5 of us on a Saturday afternoon, and there was plenty of seating both inside and outside. i ordered my first Boston lobster roll (cold) which was really rich and tasty! they really loaded up the roll with lobster so it definitely made the higher end price feel worth it. and my group shared the crab rangoon dip as an app, also surprisingly really good! 2 of us also ordered the cranberry pomegranate aperol spritz and really loved this drink too! so fruity and refreshing :) service was pretty good, no complaints on that or the food, overall a really great experience! read more

A good place to drop by after a trip to the aquarium. Service was pretty good with nice setting, though a little disappointed after I found out everyone around us was shown the valentines special menu except us. Would be nice to have that option. I'd say the lobster bisque is amazing! read more

Had an excellent experience at Provisions on State Street, largely thanks to the outstanding service from our bartender, Bailey. From the moment I sat down, Bailey was attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making the experience great--not rushed or dismissive, which sadly isn't always the case at popular spots. The food quality was excellent, the pricing felt appropriate for what you get, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. What really stood out was how well everything came together: great service, great food, and fair prices. Honestly, I enjoyed Provisions far more than other hyped Boston restaurants like Contesa and Saltie Girl. Provisions beat them on service, value, and consistency--without the attitude or inflated costs. I'll absolutely be back, and if you're lucky enough to grab a seat at the bar, ask for Bailey. read more
