Bada Bing Omelet with Home Fries and Toast
    Cyl C.

Date of visit: June 6, 2024 Selections: Bada Bing - Omelette with home fries and toast Bottled Diet Dr. Pepper Experience: My husband, mother-in-law, and I just arrived into Boston and decided to grab a bite to eat as we waited for the Boston Tea Party Museum to open. This place has an extensive menus and ordering here was unfortunately too fast pace for us as we tried to read the menu and juggle the luggage we had on us. We let a couple of people go ahead of us as we wrapped our heads around the menu to narrow down our selections. We ended up getting out of line and leaving our bags with my mother-in-law and took another stab at trying to read the menu and place our order. Luckily, no one was behind us by the time we had to place our order, but I still haphazardly selected a menu item that looked appealing since my brain was just so overwhelmed with all the menu items I saw, which is no good for someone who is indecisive as I am. After placing our order, we had to pay for our bottled drinks and meals at the cash register across from where we placed our order and boy did we have a hard time trying to describe the salad we ordered since I didn't realize there was various kinds of salads you can top off with meat on top of an actual chicken salad you can order on a sub. So the cashier had to go over to the cooks to confirm which salad we got before ringing our order. I slowly started hating this kind of atmosphere, but my husband pulled through with finally paying and getting our food once ready as I settled down at the table. Getting our food was also something of a challenge since one of the cooks shouted that the Bada Bing, which is what I had ordered, was ready to only discover someone else had ordered it, so I wish we had numbers or something assigned to our order to make it less confusing. Fortunately, the food made up for the overwhelming experience of ordering through the amount of food we each got. Mine was basically an omelette with bacon, sausage, and ham with home fries and buttered wheat bread slices that were toasted. I really would've been a happy camper with just the toast and home fries on its own and ended up just eating half of my food because I got so full. I am just glad we found a place to kill time and that we had enough space in our corner table next to the bar seats by the window.

I haven't been here in about 20 years. They still have delicious food. I can't say they've improved because everything here is perfect. Location, food, accessibility, food, customer experience, food...did I mention food? I was there for breakfast and ordered the eggs, sausage toast and home fries. The home fries were chunky goodness, Fluffy eggs with chedder accompanied by thick sliced wheat bread and sausage links. Definitely hit the spot. Don't wait 20 years to come in for breakfast or lunch. Although takeout and delivery is readily.

This is exactly what I needed! Friendly faces and loving service! The owner is a doll. This place is a jewel.

That's is exactly what we wanted! Great food, amazing service and friendly faces! Don't miss out on this gem!!!

Amazing breakfast spot with huge portion sizes! I had the Avocado, Tomato, Spinach Omelette, and it was so tasty! Definitely not like the omelette i'm used to as the eggs were a bit more on the scrambled side but it was amazing! Could definitely have shared this meal with one other, as it was served with 2 slices of toast and lots of large roasted potatoes.

Scali cafe was good. During the lunch rush it was a bit busy but not a crazy long wait. The sandwich itself was tasty but I wouldn't say anything out of this world unfortunately. If you're in a pinch, not a bad place to stop by! I do want to come back and try breakfast though!

This was what my homie had & it was good af too

This is a good ass deli I tell ya what, Food is pretty bad ass here & very affordable & not at all expensive. Fairly quick service & the inside had a nice homy feel to it, some of the employees have accents which is cool but they're still easy to understand cause their english is just fine. Wish I coulda ate more here cause everything looked sounded & tasted super dooper awesome so hopefully I get to Eat here again sometime.

Stopped by this cafe for lunch. They have A LOT of options on their menu to choose from. It seems like a very popular spot from all the good reviews. The staff was nice and worked quick. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. It was REALLY delicious! One of the best I've had. It threw me off that it was not warm though. My friends liked the sandwiches they ordered too.

I usually get my breakfast at one of the local coffee places but today I wanted something a bit more substantial served on a plate. It turned out to be Scali Cafe today. Order at the counter, wait for your food, then pay for it at the register. Easy enough. I opted for a ham and cheese omelet and it took a bit to be prepared since it's all done fresh and to order. Very good portion that was tasty and nicely done. A great breakfast that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Italian Sub: $20 for a foot long, the meat was so plentiful it's almost overflowing, enough for two meals. The prisciutto was tender and juicy; the salami was firm and savory with a strong smokiness. Both are thinly sliced, so despite the thick stack, it was relatively easy for a bite. The provolone cheese was also generously portioned, with a robust yet not spicy flavor and a subtle nutty aroma, perfectly complementing the two meats. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar were particularly outstanding: mellow, tangy, and with a fruity aroma of grapes, key to the complex flavor profile. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were all fresh, especially the onions were refreshing and a little zingy, perfect for removing the greasiness. Unfortunately, I was worried about not being able to roll it back up properly and making it inconvenient to carry (which it actually happened), so I took it away and ate it at the office. After about 40 minutes, the bread had become somewhat dry and hard.

But I'm actually writing about the company's website and phone recording. Once, on a prior holiday, and today due to a winter storm, I wasn't sure if the restaurant was open. In both cases (where the restaurant turned out to be closed), the website (appropriately) didn't allow online orders, and (more importantly) THE OUTGOING PHONE RECORDING WAS UPDATED WITH CURRENT INFORMATION. In an era where businesses barely have phone numbers to call, or employees who answer with something other than 'hello', is rare (and by the way, this is the fault of management if they don't properly train their staff). THANK YOU FOR HAVING YOUR SHIT TOGETHER IN COMMUNICATING YOUR HOURS TO THE PUBLIC. I, for one, appreciate it.

It was the gold standard for a real sandwich in the city. Sadly, the magic has faded. Between the soaring prices and the shrinking portions, the value just isn't there anymore. You can taste the "corner-cutting"--the flavors aren't as bold as they used to be, and the sandwiches feel noticeably smaller even though the cost has increased exponentially - I mean $30 for a sammy?! It should have gold in it! Even then, I'd keep coming once in awhile if the service was worth it. but honestly - the staff seems burnt out even bright early in the morning. It's hard to justify the premium price for a shadow of what this place used to be.

Every search for…read morebreakfast spots mentioned Mike & Patty's as a must stop for the best breakfast sandwich you're going to get anywhere. Enough said! I'm a huge breakfast fanatic, especially a good breakfast sandwich or burrito. This is the original location that was started by two friends and has grown to multiple other locations since. We took an Uber here from our hotel. I imagine if you drive over here, parking will be a challenge. It's almost easy to miss. It sits on a corner of a brick building with just writing on the windows. In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.
