Great late night eats. Popcorn chicken cooked perfectly. Friendly service. Especially considering the late hour, felt like a hidden gem.

Curley Burger

Came here for dinner on a weekday- we easily got a table. The waiters were very attentive and service was perfect! I got the burger- it wasn't anything special but I did really enjoy the fries. The chicken sandwich was very good though. I liked that the tables weren't too close together and the lighting was cozy but still bright enough.

Fried Pickles

Tried the fried pickles, curley burger, and the short rib poutine. Service was great, there was an issue with our receipt and the server was very nice to fix it for us. It's a pretty lively bar, we had an easy time finding a spot for two on a Friday. Food was yummy in general. The poutine was excessively salty though, it hurt to eat. I loved the fried pickles and the burger

Steak & Eggs

Very tasty breakfast! Highly recommend the crunch wrap or steak and eggs. Service was great too. The young dude with the cool long hair provided us not only great service but tourist directions for our journey. We'll be back before we leave.

Had another great evening before the theater. Made reservations online but their online website was not working on my phone. I called twice at 4:45 pm but no answer. Went on my laptop and got it working, little annoying. We came in and were brought straight to our seats. They had happy hour but they didn't tell us or give us the menu for it, I asked and got the food. I had a beer and my friend had a wonderful cocktail. The food was really great! As always, great to come here.

Espresso martini

Could this be my new pregame spot...? Espresso martinis are fantastic. Not creamy, perfectly strong and exactly what I needed. Note the online menu includes vanilla rum in it but the in house menu doesn't :(. Didn't get any food but everything that was brought out to people around us looked delicious. Music was a bit too loud but wasn't much of a bother and bartenders are quick. I would definitely come back.

Fried pickles

When I heard Wig Shop had a sister bar next door, this was not quite what I was expecting, but I'm into it! Much more of a casual neighborhood whiskey bar (kind of a dude's bar, if I can say that with no disrespect) with surprisingly decent prices for the area. Milano Sour was good, but the Fernet does come through pretty strong. Fried pickles were fine, pretty non-descript. It's neither the best food nor the best drinks in the area, but really decent of both with a great vibe and friendly unpretentious service. (If you're looking for the best fancy cocktails, Wig Shop does have the edge.) Bonus: check out Bogie's Place, the reservation-only steakhouse hidden in between the two!

Late Night Curly Burger
Michelle M.

Found this place while looking for late night food in Boston. Luckily they serve food until 1:30am, however it's a limited late night menu. We ordered rangoon's for the app, and the late night curly burgers for our entrees. Food was decent, but wasn't the best ever. I did enjoy my blue comet beer though. Our server was attentive and food didn't take too long to come out, considering this place was pretty busy for 1am. They were also playing loud heavy rock music so it was pretty fun, although maybe a little too loud...

Espresso martini and a sour cocktail

Score is solely based on the food The cocktails were very yummy and the staff was attentive and great. As for the food, we got fried pickles. The ones that were fried crispy and not soggy were delicious, but there were a lot that weren't fried all the way making it not as good. Per the recommendation of the waiter, we got the heaven hill burger - I personally thought there was no flavor, and the bacon was just too fatty and greasy (they're thick pieces), but my fiance thought it did. I got their version of the KFC famous bowl. The ingredients tasted very fresh, but again, no flavor. It was so bland, I had to ask for hot sauce for it to make it more palatable. It was like they didn't even add salt. Overall, I don't know if I'd come back for the food, but the drinks and vibe were great!

Bangarang
Ariana J.

Excellent drink Bangarang made by our skilled bartender Olivia!! Absolutely must recommend coming to this bar and trying this drink. Ambiance is great. Music is fine Crowd is lively. Service is super quick and the bartenders are crazy skilful making delicious drinks in a jiffy. French fries are not good. My hubby and I absolutely loved it and enjoyed our time here.

Curley Burger with side salad
Jungwon K.

Came for the burger, will come back for the burger. It was super juicy and had tons of pickles and caramelized onions. Only complaint is that the juiciness from the burger made the bun soggy, but if you eat it fast enough that's not a problem! I got the side salad instead of fries, and I loved it as well. I normally don't like red onions, but they were super mild and not very fragrant. The salad had a nice vinegar dressing, so it paired well with the heaviness of the burger. Service was a little slow at the bar, but understandable because it was super busy when we went in. It was super loud inside though, so be wary that conversations will feel like yelling. Next time we'll try the drinks too!

I used to love this place but the service and cocktails have gone downhill. We asked three times for straws - never got them. Our drinks took forever and were meh. The outdoor patio is cool but expect to see your server once every 30 minutes. No water refills, etc. The trash truck came through while we were eating outside which smelled like we were eating rotten eggs. We also had to ask for the check 2-3 times.

Laura F.

Swung by with a girlfriend for a pre-show meal. We each had espresso martinis and a couple beers. They have duchesse, which is my FAVORITE BEER so I was excited. The espresso martinis were free from dairy and made with borghetti, absolutely delightful. The bartenders were friendly and seemed to all enjoy each others company, which led to a really cozy comfortable atmosphere. The candles lit behind the bar were really nice too! The tartare toast and Brussel sprouts were incredible filling and well made appetizers. I recommend both for sharing! Really nice night with quick and attentive service and a reasonable bill!

We arrived for our whirlwind 1 day Boston day with a few things planned. The Wig Shop was a spot I had earmarked as a maybe. On the way to Boston by train from New York, I read an article of great bars in all of America, and the Wig Shop had made their list. I showed my gal as we were in route to Boston, and we agreed that Karma was leading us there. I checked about a reservation, but ended up going over early to try and beat the walk in crowd. That worked out great, we had almost no wait. The place was full. There were alot of people enjoying the food menu, which we didn't plan on since we had dinner reservations elsewhere for later. But we got a couple of drinks. There are many types of speakeasies. The Wig Shop is one of favorite kinds, classy. The drinks were alcohol forward, with elegant presentations. It was perfect. It was nice that the universe pointed us towards this great Boston spot.

I came with a group of four, which I highly recommend because the menu is designed for sharing. We ordered several dishes so we could try a little bit of everything. The crab beignets were probably my least favorite and something I'd skip next time, but the seared halloumi was delicious, the Lazy Lobster Dumplings were a MUST, and the Mediterranean Chicken was so flavorful and satisfying. And then there's the Prime Rib Chop, absolutely cannot come here without ordering it. It was easily top 5 best steak I've ever had! For dessert we tried the creme brûlée , the cheesecake and the carrot cake- honestly they were all unique and great. Yvonne's is definitely pricey, but I think it's worth it for the food, ambiance, and overall experience. Come with a group, share a bunch of plates, order the Prime Rib Chop and lobster dumplings, and enjoy the night. This is the kind of place that feels perfect for a special occasion or a romantic night out.

Luckily, they have a grace period of 15 minutes so it was not a problem that we were about 10 minutes late. The restaurant was loud and busy. I didn't mind the volume but some people surely would. It's dark inside, so the kind of place that some people would need to put on their readers and use their phone's flashlight to read the menu. Over the course of the night, each of us got 2 drinks. Altogether, the drinks we chose were the Icarus, the passionfruit mule, and we each got an espresso martini. No complaints, all were delicious. We were a bit overwhelmed by the options but luckily our server was very informative. Told us what he recommends and what's popular. We went with the crispy tater cubes, the lazy lobster dumplings, the bavette steak mirabeau, and the brussels sprouts. My ranking of how much I liked them would be the steak, the dumplings, the tater cubes, and then the brussels sprouts. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the brussels sprouts, but the steak and dumplings were especially good. Beware, the servings are quite small. So if you have a large party, prepare to order quite a bit. The prices aren't terribly unreasonable for most of the dishes, but it adds up fast. We still had some room for dessert, and my wife very much wanted to try the baked alaska. She didn't even know what it was, but her interest was piqued by photos online as well as seeing other tables order it. We ordered the half baked alaska, and were both very satisfied with it. All in all, we were happy with Yvonne's. When you come in, realize that you're probably gonna be spending quite a bit of cash. But we were satisfied.

This place was phenomenal!…read more I have to say, living in San Diego, I was not expecting much from a "Mexican" restaurant in BOSTON. (Any more than anyone from here would expect decent Chowder in San Diego.) My local friend chose this place, and I couldn't be more impressed. It started with this amuse-bouche, which was this frozen grapefruit treat that they poured some tequila on top of. (I uploaded a video of it.) We ordered a Red Crab Aguachile, Habanero Chicken Rancho Quesadilla, and Beef Gorditas. I would describe all of them as Mexican-inspired. They took the flavors and ingredients of Mexican cuisine, and then ran with them. Nothing was "familiar," per se. That is to say, if you're looking for Authentic Mexican cuisine, I'd suggest coming over to my place. :) But this food was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was super helpful, giving us plenty of time to order and consider the menu, there when we needed him, and didn't rush us to finish. The vibe in there is super warm, with some interesting decor. My friend said it was a little louder than normal because of a private party that was happening. You will have someone take you up in an elevator and once you're up top, the good vibes immediately hit. Why do they call it a rooftop bar and lounge you ask? Well, I would assume it's because when we came in November, it was cold outside, so the retractable roof was closed. This made it feel more loungey inside. I'm guessing when the weather is right, that roof is open and then it becomes a rooftop bar. It's pure speculation, but I think my theory is right. Like mentioned above, the vibes here were amazing. The ambience was nice. The low lights and neon lights made it a very sexy, but small space. The music was jamming 90's hip hop and R&B and everyone in there was enjoying it.
