So this place was awful. The customer service was polite but not very attentive. There wasn't a lot of people there but a lot of staff and it just seemed it took forever to get things going. My steak was edible but I asked for medium that was well done. The food is under seasoned and not very good. The shrimp and toast is an entree but is more like an appetizer. Tbh we got a 30 credit for staying her and it wasn't even salvageable.

Para Maria is located on sleeper Street on the first floor of envoy hotel, great hotel with beautiful views of Boston. The food was lackluster. The shrimp was swimming in a bath of oil and very salty and the amount of guac they gave you was definitely not enough for the chips. I think they could do much better.

Para Maria in Boston's Seaport District is a very cool spot in a great location. The vibe felt upscale, but not pretentious, and the staff and servers were very friendly and inviting. I visited late on a Friday night with a girlfriend, and it really was the perfect atmosphere to sit and chat over a glass of wine. However, I thought the food was just fine. I ordered the Pork Katsu Sandwich and my friend ordered the guacamole and grilled corn ribs. My sandwich was very tasty and the flavors were good, but the pork itself was hard as a rock! As soon as I picked it up, I could feel through the bread how overcooked the pork katsu was. It was so dry and felt like biting into a slab of cement. Although I was really disappointed in the execution of the entree, I still had a pleasant overall experience. This would not be my first choice of restaurant when visiting Boston, but if you're looking to sit and catch up with a friend over drinks, then Para Maria could be the spot for you.

Okay guacamole, lack on flavor or season on both food or drinks , sat at the bar first, bartender greet us with "hey" and dropped just drink menus , no water , no asking if we wanted food, asked to be moved to a table, Sofia the server didn't care at all to check on us at all the whole time we were there, or check how our food was (probably understaffed) hard shrimp with a supposed mango aguachile that tasted like tap water with color , unsalted corn ribs. good spot if all you want is a beer or a glass of wine after work . Not good for a dinner or lunch date .

Arriving in Boston this evening I decided to low key it by having dinner at the hotel restaurant. The atmosphere is nice, opening up to the water (the bartender nicely offered to close the sliding doors leading to outdoor dining if it was chilly). I tried the tuna tartar and the mussels. Tuna passable, mussels good -flavorful with sausage bites and charred tomatoes. A few things seemed slightly off - the plating of the mussels and a cloth napkins that had a rancid smell. Not the best if I'm googling "why would a napkin smell rancid" during a meal. I would eat at the bar again (maybe sans napkin?) if I were staying at the hotel but would not go out of way to return.

Really good deal for dine out Boston. Would definitely come back. Every dish was delicious and flavorful and generous portion. The churros was outstanding also has filling something like hazelnut. I suprised thehouse was not busy.

I went here for patio cocktails on a Wednesday evening and had a great time! I got the lychee drink and my boyfriend got the hibiscus drink. Both were great and well garnished. We also got the croquetas and those were tasty as well! Great outdoor drinking/snacking experience overall.

Went to Para Maria with my friends to share some snacks and a couple pitchers of sangria. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary but not a bad experience either. I'd say my favorite items were the croquettes and the taquitos. Service was friendly and quick, and there are plenty of larger tables so good for groups.

I came for dinner on a weekday which was pretty empty at first. Service was way too slow and although our server was nice, he also seemed to disappear whenever I was actually looking for him. The price point Para Maria tries to pass as doesn't quite succeed but at least the food is good. Not good enough for me to pay to come here again, but I'd recommend it for a work lunch or dinner. Braised cauliflower main ($27): a little salty at first, but delicious otherwise. Kind of pricey for a giant cauliflower steak. Smoked tuna tartare ($18): so tasty I wish the portion had been bigger. Grilled street corn ($13): good street corn with a twist; I had to resist licking the spicy dust off my fingers, but also...easily made at home. One of my pet peeves is when the salsa to chip ratio is bad and it was really bad here. The salsa provided was only enough for half of the chips. I hate food waste, but I'd prefer more chips than less salsa. For $13, it wasn't anything special. Malta chocolate float ($13) was a light but chocolatey and malty way to end the meal. Not enough gelato for my liking, but I've never had a malt float before and I enjoyed it.

The envoy must be one of my favorite hotels. Somehow, they managed to keep this little secret right behind the check-in desk. I went today to go eat at the rooftop but upon getting there it's not quite how we used to be so not too much seating where you can like dine and they do have a short like lunch menu. But the delightful young lady instructed me that downstairs had a restaurant and they served brunch, so that's what I decided to do. The ambiance and the decor are so cute that it's a little spot where you can chill full bar, good music, lots of vibes. The menus are something freaking else. Everything is astronomy based, and you get to pick your food through zodiac signs. The drink menu is a little pricey, but they do have a full bar, and you can get whatever you want. They specialize in like tacos other than that there was like some salads, and honestly I can't really really remember quite what else I did take pictures of the menus so you can take a look at that. Of course it's Seaport so parking is scarce. I know that before you go anywhere. Our server was super cool, but it was weird that for a period of time, no one was nowhere to be found, and the place was pretty much empty. However, they were super sweet and really kind, so shout out to them. My fish tacos were absolutely freaking delicious. Whatever that sauce is that they put on it combined with that mango is delicious. I usually don't like cooked foods or fruits in anything that I eat. But this was definitely a great combination. The card in the assado tacos was okay, but it's definitely good worth it. Just for reference is $15 for the three little tacos you see here, but they do pack flavors, some do with that information as you will.

Beautiful Space, Catastrophic Execution…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in years. We visited Boqueria Boston on Father's Day and arrived to find the restaurant nearly empty. Despite that, the experience started poorly when the host refused to accommodate a simple request to sit near a TV so we could watch the FIFA match. After being seated, it took roughly 20 minutes just to be acknowledged. We ordered two bottled beers, a bottle of still water, and tap water. The tap water arrived within minutes, but the beers and bottled water took another 10+ minutes. The beers were served without glasses, and the bottled water was simply dropped on the table without being served. When ordering, we were informed that at least five menu items were unavailable, including the seafood paella we had specifically come to try. The explanation was that they were out of clams and mussels. After insisting they check with the kitchen, we were told they could prepare it without the clams, so we agreed. The pacing of the meal was baffling. Pimientos de Padrón arrived after about 15 minutes, but then another 20-25 minutes passed before the cheese board and salad appeared. The quality was disappointing throughout. The goat cheese tasted like a bulk food-service product, and the pan con tomate was overwhelmed by raw garlic. The gambas took roughly 45 minutes to arrive and came with only three tiny pieces of bread. We immediately ordered additional grilled bread and waited another 20 minutes for that. Throughout the meal, every inquiry about the delays was met with excuses, despite the restaurant being mostly empty and fully staffed. After waiting more than an hour for the paella, I finally requested the check. Miraculously, the paella appeared moments later. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the wait. It was bland, lacked any depth of flavor, and was among the most forgettable paellas I've ever had. To make matters worse, no fresh plates or utensils were provided for the main course. Service remained consistently poor. Water glasses were never refilled. Different servers randomly dropped off dishes, yet nobody seemed interested in clearing empty plates. We eventually started stacking dirty dishes on a neighboring table ourselves before someone finally removed them. Our primary server informed us she was going on break and essentially disappeared for the remainder of the meal, only reappearing when it was time to present the check. The only employee who showed any accountability was an older gentleman who eventually stepped in, acknowledged the problems, and provided a 50% discount after realizing part of our order had never been rung in. While appreciated, the gesture came far too late to salvage the experience. Beyond the service issues, the operational details were concerning. The open kitchen made it easy to observe staff working without hairnets or hats, and employees were constantly entering and exiting the same restrooms used by guests, often carrying backpacks and personal belongings through the dining room. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've had much better experiences at Boqueria locations in New York. However, this visit reinforced what feels like a steady decline in the brand. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The concept is strong. The location is excellent. Unfortunately, the management and training appear to be severely lacking. With so many outstanding dining options in Boston's Seaport, I cannot recommend this location. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

You know when you're eating a kale salad and the pieces are too big and you're kind of cramming them into your mouth and then the salad dressing is all over your face? This is NOT that salad! The kale is perfectly chopped so you can enjoy it with just your fork as you talk to your friend/spouse/date or just read your book. The dressing is such perfection, and the perfect amount, no gloopiness here! Crunchy breadcrumbs add magical texture and then there's a shower of finely grated gouda cheese on top. Have you ever read a good book and as you're reading it, you're so into it that you don't want it to end? So you slow down your reading speed to make it last a little longer? That's how I feel about this salad. There are other delicious items on the menu, I saw someone eating the burger that looked so good, I also want to try the Brussels but the call of the salad siren is too strong. Mushroom Toast: The texture was rubbery, and the flavor was completely drowned out by an aggressive amount of balsamic. Beets: Had a very overwhelming cumin flavor that threw the dish out of balance. Roast Beef Slider: Served cold and felt a bit uninspired. It's such a cute, intimate space, and I've had so many wonderful nights here in the past, but the execution was just off this time around. We were intrigued by the pommes soufflé on the menu and should have asked what exactly it was before ordering a $22 dish, and almost burst out laughing when it arrived to our table - two tiny potato puffs topped with caviar. I suppose the caviar more than made up for it but I could have eaten at least five more pieces. The presentation of the salmon belly crudo was pretty but there were only five pieces for two of us, and each piece was less than a mouthful. I love salmon belly and this one tasted a tad less fresh/unctuous than other iterations. We decided we needed more substantial food and ordered the focaccia and an all-meat charcuterie board. The focaccia was oily enough for me to keep wiping off my fingers but probably my favorite thing of what we ordered; the charcuterie came on a piece of wax or parchment paper, an interesting choice, and, with all the rich meats (pate, ham, and duck rilette), I was finally satiated. Actually, my favorite was the farmer's whim cocktail: though not very strong, it was a beautiful beet color and taste, and though the base alcohol of rye is something I never opt for, it was extremely drinkable. Our waitress was so sweet and, even though we decided not to order any dessert, brought out two cups of soft serve with candles. Feel free to peruse the farmer's market section as you leave, though the $6 sodas was quite a sight to behold.
