Haven't been here in a while and they've improved a LOT! The menu has a lot more variety and the portions are slightly bigger. The chicken quesadilla sounds basic but it's actually so flavorful and one of the best chicken quesadillas I had! I also love getting the tuna tartare I get it all the time and it's so good with the plantain chips. I really came back for their frozen margarita and frozen mimosas, it's so yummy!!! Service was good but I hate their seating arrangement. We made a reservation for the two of us and it was pretty empty when came in, but for some reason they decided to sit us right next to a big group of people in the back??? It was just loud and disturbing and it would've been nice to sit elsewhere more private considering there were other tables available.
This place is so pretty and festive! Everything I ate was a 10/10! The chips and salsa, although not complimentary are worth the price! The chips are seasoned too perfection and the salsa is charred and flavorful. The birria doesn't taste like pot roast, which is why I tend to not like birria but this one....It's delicious, possibility top 3 I've ever had. The tres leche french toast is delicious as well as the churro bites. Service was friendly as well. This seems like a great place for a celebration or brunch with the girls!
Our waitress Was very nice. I hate that I forgot her name. I think it was Giovana. Anyway, She was very sweet to me and my beautiful girl friend. We had dinner there and the room was very magical. Greay place to take your other half or just chill with your lady friends. The vibe was nice. They played some soft music in there as well. The foods was great. See u again soon.
We walked in to Citrus & Salt on a Monday evening and were seated right away. The ambiance and decor were very lively - we felt like we were in Miami. I had been craving fish tacos for a really long time, and I was delighted to find a whole section of the menu dedicated to them. We started off with margaritas - one of the best companions to fish tacos - and I ordered mine spicy with jalapeño. For food, we shared the lobster empanadas and chorizo and potato taquitos. I ordered the tempura fish tacos for myself. Our margaritas were brought out shortly - mine was refreshing but lacked the kick from the jalapeño that I was hoping for (there was only one thin slice of pepper). Our food was brought out shortly, and I found it a bit overwhelming when our appetizers and tacos came out together. I started with my tacos, and these were excellent. The fish was flaky and fried to perfection, and I loved the rainbow of sauces and toppings. Plus, the tortillas were nice and sturdy and didn't tear. The lobster empanadas were super decadent, and I appreciated the substantial amount of lobster stuffed inside. I was too full to eat much of the taquitos but took a few bites. These also had good flavor but weren't standouts. Next time, I'd just get the tacos and maybe a light app. Towards the end of our visit, the restaurant seemed to clear out, and we had a difficult time trying to locate our server for the bill. Overall, we had a nice meal and satisfied the fish taco craving.

Tapas style so it is fun for a night out sharing plates. For Seaport pricing, pricing is on par or even slightly cheaper than other restaurants in the area. Being a Jason Santos restaurant, the food and drinks are always tasty!
Great service and good food! I really liked how there were a lot of mocktail options. My friend and I had a good waiter who was attentive. The food was delicious but very expensive, which is why I'm giving this place four stars. The only other critique I have was that it was very loud in the restaurant. I'm sure it was just a busy night. Overall, I really liked this restaurant and I will definitely be back!

Relatively good Mexican food in Seaport. Being a California native, I think it gets the job done. Food was flavorful and filling. The guacamole tasted fresh. Also ordered the soft serve margaritas which while good, were a bit disappointing. I'm pretty sure it's just dole whip with a shooter of tequila, so not really a margarita. The decor is super cute inside, definitely instagram worthy. Great place for a night out

The ambiance is so chic! Celebrated my birthday there in July and a time was had. They accommodated a large group of us. Service was quick even with it being on a Saturday night and the place was busy. Food was honestly MID. You basically are paying for the ambiance in my opinion but I'd still recommend trying it out.
Vibey and badass -- like when Kohl's sometimes has a Sephora in it. Guacamole slapped -- absolute fire, bruh. Chunks of real-life avocado!!!! That is a rare spotting nowadays, Rufus. Praise dat guac. Hallelujah!! The atmosphere felt like an Instagram Reel. Food was satisfactory + well-seasoned, in my honorable opinion. So tell Louise! Staff = kind, I thought. Not morbid. Eat here for nutrients + social media content generation.
We had 8 PM reservation. Place was packed. Great ambiance! Drinks came and we are happy! Tapas ! Don't remember how many we had! All extremely good! Recommend this place whenever you are in Boston!

More than anything else, the draw of this spot is definitely the ambiance, which I can't lie, was vibrant and electric- perfect for a fun night out with party energy. However, for being a restaurant right on the water, I was not too impressed with their popular fish tacos- the meat tasted slightly unfresh and wasn't super desirable. Their flavors in general are pretty tasty, especially on the nice crispy chilaquiles, but nothing really blew me away. I will say, the portions are generous for the price, but with the quality and taste of the food, I'm not sure that's enough to make me want to come back. The service was nice enough, but felt a little impersonal and rushed; I felt at times like we were being forgotten and met with the intention of getting us out as fast as possible, so the whole night felt more like a quick meal than a nice dinner. Overall, I feel there's much better Mexican food options in the city where you'll get a nicer dining experience and a better quality meal.

(Last visited October 19, 2023.) Hanging out in Boston for work and it's Taco Tuesday! So naturally, I do some Yelp'ing and found Citrus & Salt! Here's how it went... Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right downtown Boston tucked among the skyscrapers is this gem. Obviously, it's downtown so it won't have a private parking lot. I'm sure there's plenty of street parking in a neighborhood nearby, but be careful to really read the signs carefully. Once inside it felt a little like a nightclub! Lol. Not that the music was loud of anything, but the energy inside or lively, the vibes were high and everyone seemed like they were having a good time. I was also surprised by how big the place was! So many downtown restaurants have a small footprint, but this one was about the size of 2 "normal" restaurants. The decor was awesome, the lighting was a little dark, but it was colorful and energetic. Service: We sat at the bar and even though it was quite busy, we had no issues at all. Food: My friends and I were sharing so many plates that I can't remember everything that I had. Lol. However, I remember liking everything that I tried. The drinks were also good! Everything was so picturesque, but the flavors definitely matched the plate's visuals. Value: This place is a bit more "upscale" than your "traditional" Mexican restaurant. So you will pay more here, but it's totally worth it. I probably spent $75.00 myself on a few taps and some drinks. In conclusion, I really liked it here and would absolutely return here! First off, let me say that the decor here is top-notch! Everything is so beautiful and perfectly set up for a girls night and/or baby shower. We were greeted and sat, and decided to start with drinks and the guac. The guac was very good! I also love the chips that came with it. Unlike traditional tortilla chips, they were they were coated with a thick seasoning that I thought would resemble Doritos (gross), but actually tasted amazing. For my meal, I had the Birria tacos which I was a little concerned that they only gave you two, but they were actually very plentiful. My daughter had the chicken bacon quesadilla, and loved it. My friends and I attended their cookbook launch party and all I can say is A+. I have attended events like this before but Citrus and Salt outdid themselves. There were three stations featuring food. There was a chip, plantain, salsa and Guacamole bar, taco station and one more. They served mini concoctions of their delicious drinks and food was passed throughout the night. There was a DJ and book signing with the chef. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Stopped in with 2 friends in the afternoon on a Sunday and we were able to be seated quickly with no reservation. I bet when it's busy on saturdays or fridays reservations are a must. The ambiance was great and was very aesthetically pleasing. The service was quick and friendly and the food and drinks were delicious. I would definitely come back as the vibe and decorations made the place very inviting and pretty. read more
We loved this place! I made reservations here for Valentine's day for me and my family of 3. We dressed up and headed for a 5pm dinner. It was soo nice! The vibe is great, flowers hanging everywhere and so many colors everywhere. Music is playing loudly which was fun! We had the guac and chips, shrimp cocktail, a few tacos and tasty street corn. All the food was great and tasty. We love tapas. The drinks were great. My 13 y/o daughter loved the mocktails. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. He made great suggestions. Can wait to go back with the hubby and just sit at the bar. read more

Had a quick day in Boston and stopped in for a late dinner. This place was poppin, full of people and buzz. The decor was fun, filled with plants and neon lights. This is a tapas style restaurant with lots of small plates with food coming out as it is ready. We ordered several things and it was all delicious. Cheese curds piled high on top of a bed of street corn. Empanadas filled to the brim with delicious pork. And don't get me started on the octopus, so tender and covered in an amazing bacon something. My mouth is watering remembering this meal. When we are back in Boston we will be making our way back! read more

Citrus & Salt is one of the cutest restaurants, in my opinion, in Seaport! As a pink color lover, the aesthetic here was right up my alley haha, beautiful decor. We can hear after dinner for dessert + drinks. I've been eyeing their dole whip for quite some time now, so it was nice to finally be able to try it. What we ordered: -pineapple dole whip -key lime sorbet -churros -espresso martini (came w/ espresso beans) For the espresso martini we ordered it without the patron and just with tequila reposado. It came with these chocolate covered coffee beans that were divine! Literally so good, we had to ask for more. My favorite dessert, of the ones we ordered, is the churros! They were all very good but the churros from here are something different, for real! They tasted very fresh, soft, and almost like a pillow... I don't even know to explain it but they're crazy good! It came with two different dipping sauces, vanilla dulce & a chocolate sauce. The pineapple dole whip & key lime sorbet were great! Very refreshing and were yummy, light desserts after dinner. Seems to be a pretty busy place so I would make sure to make a res! We were okay with sitting bar since we were just getting desserts anyways. I thought it was super cool to learn from one of the bartenders that they make their own in house tequila! It was my first time visiting Citrus & Salt and definitely won't be my last! The best guacamole I've ever had! Wow! Loses a star because we really didn't care for the tostadas but everything else was truly excellent! The guacamole was just divine, topped with jalapeños and cotija cheese! It was incredible, the tortilla chips are also jalapeño dusted, exquisite! The shrimp tostadas were fine but the shrimp had too much unwanted fishy flavor. The empanadas tho!!! Woah, those knocked our Sox off! INCREDIBLE! The drinks were delicious! And came in cute christmassy glasses! The vibe in there is a 10/10! So fun and beautifully decorated! Loved it! read more
Gorgeous place with poor service . The server was nice but not enough to elevate the experience. The guacamole lacked flavor . The best part of this place were the cocktails . I had the savage , it was surprinly good . This is a influencers dream but a foodies nightmare . I also had the s Shrimp tostadas. Not worth the $14 with 2 shrimp on each cute place not worth the hype . Lastly , more servers on the floor is needed . It's a pretty big place but needs to be treated as such . Went yesterday for the first time. It was amazing. I worked in the area back in the day and seeing the transformation is astounding. It was a hard day and the staff were absolutely lovely. Go! And you won't even care that the view if of the USPS facility parking lot. I had the blood orange mock margarita. read more
+ Churros w/ vanilla dulce (YES) and mezcal chocolate (not my cup of tea) + Pineapple dole whip + Key Lime Sorbet + expresso martini with cassamigos bartender was chill and super nice, good sport with the jokes lol. We came in for a post dinner session and friends wanted to grab a martini before heading home. I wasn't in the drinking mood so we ordered some sides. The expresso martini black my buddy enjoyed said it was a tad heavier on the liquor side cassamigos reprosado which isn't a bad thing haha and came with these chocolate covered coffee beans that was fuego. The dole whip soft serve was refreshing and had actual bits of pineapple at the bottom. My personal fave of the night was the next two items, the key lime sorbet my goodness brings you back to the days of Italian ice in the summer scraping it with a wooden stick spoon as a kid. The highlight is churros. Need me two orders of this. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, light crispy with a hot, soft, chew. Seriously just order it. The vanilla dulce is my preferred dip out of the two. The mezcal chocolate wasn't my cup of tea. I was excited to visit the new Citrus & Salt location. I was a huge fan of their Back Bay location. The food was delicious and the fish tacos were a favorite. It was cooked perfectly and it literally just melted in your mouth as you took a bite. The scallops were a bit overcooked. The guac was seasoned nicely. The street corn was good, but messy to eat! The churros were a perfect end to our meal. The decorations at Citrus & Salt were similar to their Back Bay location and it's so pretty to look at. They had pink and red heart decorations up for Valentine's Day. Our waitress was attentive and kept checking in on us throughout the night. read more

Was craving Mexican food and decided to finally check out Citrus & Salt after hearing so many good things and it did not disappoint! We went on a Sunday right when dinner service started around 5 PM, so there was no wait (always a plus). The vibe here is super chic and very Instagram worthy. This spot is definitely best enjoyed if you're dining with someone who loves to share, because there are so many great dishes to try. I also love that they have a mocktail section for those who don't drink alcohol. I ordered the Strawberry Piña Colada and it was delicious, refreshing, and perfectly balanced! Here's what we tried: -Swordfish Ceviche: Fresh and flavorful. The sauce paired perfectly with the fish, and the pineapple and jalapeño added a great touch. - Grilled Street Corn: Exactly how street corn should be; creamy, flavorful, and the Hot Cheetos added a fun crunch. Also it came off the cob!!! - Mussels Frites: Unfortunately, this one missed the mark for us. The portion was small for the price, and the wine flavor overpowered the mussels. Would skip this next time. - Slow-Roasted Pork Empanadas: Loved these! Served hot and generously filled, plus two tasty sauces on the side. - Battered Fish Tacos: Crispy, not fishy at all, really good, though I wish there was a bit more sauce. - Beef Birria Tacos: A must order! Cheesy, saucy, and absolutely delicious. - Coconut Milk Flan: One of the best flans I've ever had. Creamy, light, and full of flavor. I'll be ordering this every time we come back. Service was friendly and attentive, though I do think they could improve on pacing the dishes. Everything came out at once, so a few items cooled off before we could enjoy them properly. Visiting Boston this place is absolutely beautiful! You forget about the food with the stunning decor! We sat at the bar to grab small bites and cocktails! I had Buttermilk Nashville hot chicken and chips queso they were good! I took one star off because I didn't like the taste of the patron flight! Back in the day, I was a big fan of the old Citrus & Salt location in Back Bay. The simple yet stunning decor, with its beautiful pink painted walls and cozy beige booths, was a sight to behold. But the new location is equally impressive, featuring flower trees, graffiti-covered walls, and the iconic "I didn't text you, tequila did." Our server was attentive and was friendly throughout our experience. We started with the chips, guacamole, and queso, which were quite tasty, but not the best we've ever had. The fish tacos, on the other hand, were a hit. They were quite large and delicious. My friend opted for the primadonna and the after hours, both of which looked visually appealing and equally as delicious. Citrus and Salt offers a variety of options, including nonalcoholic choices. There is a bunch of metered parking available on A Street! We will absolutely be back again, I cannot wait to try the soft served and the dole whip. read more
We were a group of twelve. Giovanna was our main server, there were a couple more that I didn't get their names. It was chaotic fun. Kinda loud Friday night. The place was packed. Thankfully we had a reservation and were in the back by a roll up garage door...see picture of flamingo. Drinks came first. Yummy Mango Margherita with a toasted coconut rim for me. Others had Margheritas, mojitos, beer and mocktails. We ordered oysters; chips with guacamole and cheese; ahi tuna ceviche with plantain chips to share for appetizers. They were authentic and delicious. Next came food. We were informed ahead of time that food would come out as ready. Not waiting for the entire table. This worked as we had plenty of appetizers. So, everyone had their food hot. I will say, the food was delicious. At either end of the table were the NO cilantro folks. I was in the middle with four others who needed extra cilantro, to the dismay of our dinner mates. I truly enjoyed the experience. There was a birthday at a table near us and the whole side of the restaurant along with the servers sang happy birthday. It was a great environment. read more

Has anyone ever brought their kids here?
I always go before 6pm and I've seen people bring children. It's more casual in the day but I imagine later at night it would be louder and not as kid friendly.
How do I make a reservation for 13? I’ve called and left 3 messages, even did a reservation online. No one has gotten back to me.
I always just make a reservation on open table. They usually call the day of to confirm the reservation. They were always good at picking up when I called. You should try calling again during the day when it's not as busy
Is there socially distanced outdoor seating and heat lamps? Can you make reservations ahead of time for these tables if they exist?
Yes, the tables are socially distanced and there is a time limitation to dining in. I have not seen any outdoor seating.
Do they have any vegan options?
I don't believe so, but then again I wasn't looking out for those options so might be mistaken. I would suggest just calling and confirming !:)
What is the noise level like on a weekend during dinner? Is it loud?
I'd say it can be loud in the main dining room. If you have a large party and are in the side room, it can be more quiet.
