Amazing food, service, and ambiance. It really exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to go back.

food was delicious, but drinks were watery and service felt like I was at a much more casual place. call me old fashioned, but at somewhere posturing this level of niceness, the food runners should not be asking us what we ordered, and the waiter never stopped by unless we flagged them down. Just another small plates seaport restaurant with the location and view being the main redeeming factor. read more

My husband was so excited to find a restaurant with his name in Boston. We planned to visit our daughter and fiancée! Marcelino's Seaport was our first reservation we made! Party of 4! Stunning views of the Boston Harbor! Marcelino's Seaport has upscale feel! Dress code specified. Our Server Manuela R was great! Tapas style menu! Food was very tasty. Wasn't too impressed with the salad. Loved my cocktail and the cheesecake! Pricey dinner! Noticed on the receipt We were automatically charged a "Kitchen Appreciation Fee" There was a public parking lot walking distance to restaurant. Had to pay for the parking. Enjoyed a stroll on the Boston Harbor walkway after dinner! read more

Great food and ambience, held back by an inappropriately late, subpar lebneh ------ Ambience: great. Warm, intentional, does real work for the experience. A few furnishings hint at cost-cutting, but nothing a casual diner would notice. Negroni: well-balanced, slightly too Campari-forward. They should serve with an orange peel, not a slice. It's an orange-themed Negroni. The peel carries the aromatics, the slice doesn't near as much. Bronzino: outstanding. Precise seasoning, potatoes cooked beautifully and but served slightly chill. Fish stayed the centerpiece and was truthfully one of the better restaurant whole fish I have had. Pacing was the issue: My appetizer, a $23 lebneh, arrived 10-15 minutes after my entrée, even though I'd asked to cancel it once the entrée came out. The server said it was due to the kitchen waiting on the bread. On a $140 bill for three items, a cold dip has no business trailing the main course and a restaurant of that scale should either consult the guest or hold on firing the entrée. Would return for the food. Service needs to fix its timing and customer communications. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I'm very disappointed by the complete lack of communication. I had a reservation that I canceled due to an unexpected work commitment. Shortly afterward, I learned the meeting had been canceled and immediately contacted the restaurant to reinstate my reservation. Unfortunately, the table had already been given to another party. While I understand and respect cancellation policies, the fee was $40 per person, so I felt my situation warranted at least a review. When I called the restaurant, I was told that the cancellation fee could be waived, but that I needed to submit my request by email for management to review. I did exactly as instructed and sent my first email on May 29. Since then, I have followed up multiple times (on June 4, June 10, and again later) and, nearly a month later, I have still not received any acknowledgment or response. I was not expecting a guaranteed refund--only the courtesy of a response. Whether the answer is yes or no, customers deserve timely communication, especially when a significant cancellation fee is involved and they have followed the process the restaurant requested. The lack of communication has been far more frustrating than the fee itself and has left me with a very poor impression of the restaurant's customer service. read more

Ambience is very nice. Having outside seating looking towards boston harbor was a treat. We had reservations which I will highly recommend, so we were seated immediately. We ordered few items - its tapas place to portion sizes are small. Food was ok. Service was good and staff is nice. Overall a good place. Parking is tough to find, and paid. There are couple of paide garages nearby if thay helps. read more

This has to be one of the most overrated restaurants in Boston. Was really excited to come here for a date night. I believe the drink prices are terrible, for $21 for a basic mule. The carpaccio was extremely salty, where we didn't even finish it. Disappointing all the way around and will not be coming back. read more

Our server was very attentive and provided good recommendations. The food was incredible and most of our drinks were great. The view from the patio is great especially at sunset. read more

This is a really cute spot by the water. I came with my husband for an after-dinner drink and dessert, so I can't speak for the food menu. Our server was attentive and the ambiance is great for drinks, would be cute for a date night or honestly any occasion. I liked that it felt elegant without having a snobby air. The Boston cream espresso martini was honestly delicious, I could have ordered another. The rose cheesecake had a strange taste and not a typical cheesecake texture; this was the only thing I didn't like. Overall I would recommend and would like to come back to try the food menu. read more

This place is $$$$ but I can see why! Aside from it being in Seaport (which always makes places pricier) it has extremely well crafted cocktails, a gorgeous large patio by the water, really delicious food, and on point service. I wouldn't necessarily be a regular here but it's definitely a great special occasion spot or a fun place to grab some drinks & apps and yap with your friends. read more

Ambiance was lovely and drinks were innovative and delicious! Prompt bar service by very friendly bartenders!!

Very cool energy inside, feels like New York City which is hard to find in Boston. Unique cocktails and yummy appetizers. Server was really helpful on telling us about the drink flavor profiles! read more

The drinks were honestly not that strong, they were good and creative but I was expecting a bit more of hit. Me and my friends came here for their apps, we ordered a bunch of hummus & pita which was all good. What really called me to leave a review was how wonderful our server was. 10/10 would recommend you checking this place out. I found it on social media. It has the waterfront views and its outdoor set up with sofas and tables. They also have an indoor restaurant and huge bar area. I didn't have a reservation but was able to seat at the outdoor bar area. The service was great and helpful when deciding between drinks. They have an extensive drink menu and Mediterranean food menu as well. I got the following drinks: Melon chili, light and refreshing the melon was just a garnish and not really tasted in the drink. There was a chili taste and Smokey element as well. Watermelon rhubarb, was a watermelon refresher with a feta cheese cream top. Very light and refreshing Baklava was their take on an old fashioned. It was honey whiskey and not much on the baklava spices that I could tell the difference read more

This is such a beautiful restaurant with a very promising menu. However, service is horrible and execution is disappointing. Both drinks I specifically came to this restaurant for were "still being prepped" at 5:30 pm. I told the waitress I was from out of town and would wait for the Boston crème espresso martini after she said it wasn't possible to get it at the time I asked. 7 min later she said it was being prepared. I'm not sure what I drank, but it tasted like stale Starbucks with something disgusting on top. Not even sweet. Dishes were lackluster despite an exciting menu. I would come back here... for a club soda and the view. read more

A beautiful covered outdoor patio location with a cavernous, trendy vibe, try to sit near the bar if you can for the burning intense experience. The food was sexy, naughty, and unctuous, so full of flavor. The logo in the ice cube was a nice touch. Service was attentive and helpful. Felt like I was transported to another country! Highly recommend! Reservations are a good idea. read more

My friends wanted to go out to somewhere new and we decided to try Marcelino's. I was surprised at how good the food and drinks were here! The patio was a bit cold but they had heat lamps. We were seated at a big short table with small square seats. It was comfortable. The vibe was great though. I liked how it had different seating and the view was beautiful. Definitely will be a great spot during the summer. We ordered bone marrow, eggplant, beef skewer, chicken skewer, salad, lamb chops, steak, branzino, ceviche, garlic shrimp, lebne, rose cheesecake, chocolate lava cake, and pear dessert. Honestly everything was good. The garlic shrimp was a bit salty though. They served pita bread with the dishes and boy, the pita bread was pillowly and hot. So good. It helped cut some of the saltiness. If I had to pick my favorite dishes were the bone marrow, eggplant, lebne, garlic shrimp, and chocolate lava cake. Some of the proteins were cooked more than medium rare but actually tasted fine and didn't seem tough. read more

The Marcelino's patio is such a vibe! They have a live DJ Wednesday -Saturday at night too! The food was good and the drinks were also really good. The passion fruit margarita had passion fruit flavored popping boba in it. The peach and honey gimlet and the passion fruit margarita were both not too sweet. The cauliflower and the halloumi were both flavorful vegetarian dishes! The service was also good, it felt like the restaurant was well staffed! read more

Vibes were great. Food and drink were nothing special. What is concerning is the sneaky charges they put on the bill. Specifically charging for olives in dirty martinis and then adding a 12 dollar martini that wasn't ordered. Shady business read more

Made a reservation ahead of time, got there and there were a PLENTY of empty tables outside, they insisted to sit us inside in a completely EMPTY room in the back. Or choose to sit on uncomfortable stools next to the bar. We ended up spending over $200 for 2 people for a very mediocre experience. What's the point of keeping over 6 tables empty outside for over 2hours if you won't let people who booked actually use them? Very disappointed. read more

I'll start this by saying: Marcelino's is a tough one to review. It's a beautiful space with quality drinks and food in a prime location, but it's real expensive, and takes itself pretty seriously. We stopped by for dinner on a Saturday night. There's a bouncer at the front door and while there was no line at 7pm when we arrived, by the time we left there was a substantial line (velvet ropes and all) of people dressed to the nines waiting to get it. The restaurant is really luxurious and vibey but super small - though I think the back room has a DJ that was drawing this crowd in. At its core, Marcelino's is a cocktail bar. The drink menu is all designed around the flavor profiles and ingredients. Some of our favorites were the classic dirty martini, Oregano/Tomato, and Basil. There were some great flavors and everything was perfectly balanced, but at $20-$30 per cocktail, you'd expect nothing less. There's also a full menu of mediterranean small plates (at full entree prices...). Everything we tried was delicious, but with a group of 4, it was really hard to order enough to fill everyone up without spending a fortune. Our waitress was really helpful and the service all around was great, I just probably wouldn't visit for a meal again. It's more of a drinks and a light snack spot for a special occasion in my opinion. Restaurants like this have been popping up more and more to fill a hole in the nightlife scene in Boston (such a casual city), but you're really paying for the decor, location, and IG photos, rather than the actual meal. Still, you have to respect the quality food and cocktails, just make sure you know what you're getting yourself into :) read more

We've been wanting to try this place for a month or so and finally made it here. It's a nice cocktail bar with really unique flavors. Very pricey though (~$20/cocktail) and some places I think it's worth it but I wasn't blown away by these. Very good but not worth that price. The food was good but it's small plates so it's not really designed for dinner (even though reservations between 4-9 have to be dinner). It was a nice vibe but very small. Overall, I thought it was good but I'm not sure I'll be dying to go back. read more

The service, food, and ambiance- exceptional! The whole team was attentive. Thank you SK for your service and making it memorable!

Evening Spoiled After a late Saturday stroll along the harbor and an amusing exhibit at the ICA, the four of us--friends for decades in Boston--headed to Marcelino's for dinner. Walking past the front windows, we joked that we were about to raise the average age of the room considerably. That joke turned out to be less amusing by the end of the evening. We arrived on time for our reservation and were led to a table in what seemed to be the loudest part of an already very loud restaurant, immediately adjacent to the bar and a particularly exuberant party. On the way, we passed several open tables for four. Since we had come to catch up and share family news, we politely asked whether we could sit at one of the quieter tables. We were told no: those tables had all been reserved by other diners who had specifically requested them. The hostess checked again with someone else and returned with the same answer. Our request wasn't for a better view or a more desirable table--just someplace where four people could reasonably have a conversation. We decided to stay and try it. Mistake. Our waiter had to bend down close to our ears to explain the menu. We ordered cocktails, a couple of appetizers, and one main dish to share, intending to order more as the evening progressed. The cocktails were quite good. The food may have been as well, but it was difficult to notice: the auditory overload overwhelmed just about every other sense. I finished my cocktail rather quickly and ordered another, perhaps as compensation for the atmosphere. It never arrived. When our waiter asked whether we wanted to order more, the four of us looked at one another. No. Espresso or tea? No. Dessert? No. Just the check, please. At least the missing second cocktail was also missing from the bill. Then came the part that transformed a disappointing dinner into something more troubling. As we left, we passed at least two of those four-top tables we had asked about. They were still empty. They had remained empty throughout our meal. So the four of us were left trying to understand why our simple request had been refused and why we had been given an explanation that the empty tables made very difficult to believe. Ageism was hard not to consider. Were four older diners less desirable toward the front of the restaurant? Or were we deliberately placed beside the loud bar because diners seated there are likely to leave quickly? I can't know the answer. I do know that the restaurant's treatment of us left us asking the question. And that is the lasting impression of the restaurant. I have almost nothing useful to say about the food and little to say about the service. Both were overwhelmed by the way we were treated before dinner had really begun. read more

First time visiting for a friend's birthday and overall we had a mixed experience. The drinks were great and the food was honestly amazing, everything we ordered was flavorful and well done! The restaurant itself is super cute and has such a fun vibe, which made it a great spot to celebrate. That said, the service really didn't match the rest of the experience. We had to wait a long time just to get our drink order in, and throughout the night it felt like we weren't being checked on or taken care of consistently. For how much we ended up spending on dinner and drinks, I expected a higher level of service. I felt very rushed when we were able to get the waitresses attention. I'd definitely come back for the food and atmosphere, but I really hope the service improves because that was the biggest downside of the night. read more

Lamb chops were amazing! I'd come back to eat this. It smelled incredible walking in. The view is beautiful from the high tops by the railing. I felt like sitting inside or on the regular tables on the patio had an obstructed view. Service was super slow and inattentive on a Tuesday evening. I can't imagine what this would be like on a busier day. I agree the pricing is high. I had a mid cocktail for over $23 with the taxes included. At this price point, I expect more than a pretty drink. 1 drink and one "larger" item without a side ran me $75. I was on a work trip, so that helped. read more

I've never experienced this before in my entire life. My husband and I were standing in the walk-in line for about 15 minutes and the African American bouncer looks at us and says that it looks like we've come from somewhere else and are too inebriated for him to let us in. That is actually insane. We were quietly waiting in line, not being loud, causing a scene or doing anything that would indicate that we shouldn't be allowed in. It was cold out so we had our hands in our pockets and were moving around to keep warm and the bouncer said we're were "swaying" and that he's not going to let us in (it's 10pm and we're 36 years old mind you). Such a bummer, as this place has been on my list for so long and we were so excited to check it out. We won't be back. Check your staff please. Super unfortunate. I'm writing this the same night from a different restaurant, obviously sober and just in disbelief at what just happened. Please do better. read more

Drinks, hummus, and the fattoush salad were absolutely divine--truly the standout stars of the meal. The flavors were incredibly vibrant and well-balanced, and honestly, some of the best we've had. We would 100% come back just for the small plates and drinks. The atmosphere added to the experience too--intimate, quieter than a typical bar, with a beautifully designed interior and a great vibe. That said, the tuna and chicken dishes didn't quite live up to the same standard. After such a strong start with the hummus and salad, we had high expectations. The tuna lacked flavor, and the chicken dish felt a bit underwhelming in comparison. Overall, the incredible flavors of the hummus and salad alone would bring us back, and we're excited to explore more of the small plates--especially from the garden-inspired and artisan dips sections of the menu. read more
