The Hub Pub one of Boston's hidden gems casual and relaxed pubs. The old school pub was excellent the bartender was totally a good guy. The food is really good had a bowl of clam chowder with crackers and a beacon hill cheeseburger with fries was really good and the fries were cooked awesome. The Hub Pub worth the visit for a cold beer. read more

My buddies and I waited 1 hour to play pool. The bartender told us that there was no more pool for the night because they were closing the tables. Not even 5 minutes later, 3 people walk upstairs with pool balls. "I work here, I work here," smiles on their face. Just rude. read more

The bouncer was the meanest person in the world. He literally bullied us, and we were waiting in line, not even looking for something. He clearly had something else going on that wasn't nice hospitality and I'm sorry but that's not my problem. Hub pub sucks. read more

Came here looking for a non touristy bar. Went to the Beantown Pub and The Last Hurrah and they weren't bad but nothing compares to this place. What a fantastic time! Scotty was one the best bartenders I've ever encountered! We will definitely be back on our next trip to Boston! read more

A must stop in Boston. Willie (owner) was a great host, and Scottie, Miranda and MJ rocked it behind the bar. Had a blast (2 days in a row). And try the Haddock bites! Had fun at Beantown Pub also (same ownership), but really loved the vibe here. read more

I had such a nice time here in the middle of the day on a random Wednesday. Bartender made me an excellent mimosa that really quenched my thirst mid-freedom trail. I loved the Americana ambience and will definitely stop back in here whenever I visit Boston again. Love, Lauren! read more

My wife and I are regular visitors to Boston and every time we visit, we have to make a stop at The Hub Pub! We met Scotty (bartender/server) more than a few visits ago and he is the best! He provides excellent and friendly service. His music selection is also on point! He creates a fun and relaxed atmosphere that makes people want to come back! You can tell how good he is by the reaction of the regular customers. The food is awesome as well! Great beer selection tops it off! I definitely recommend this spot for anyone who is in the area!! Stopped in after a day on the way back to the hotel. Friendliest place we have encountered in Boston. We wanted dinner and the kitchen was closed. Tried to go to Beantown Pub to watch a football game with 4 friends, the waiter there was kind of rude and told us he wasn't sure if he could put the game on the TV. So then we made our way to the Hub pub where Scotty with a y treated us with kindness, enthusiasm and immediately turned the game on for us! Go to Hub Pub instead of Beantown! read more

Always standardly a top tier time when I come. Homey and a place that is mostly inhabited by regulars it's nice to walk in and have multiple people know your name (I know that feels very cheers-y) and the bartender having your drink ready when you walk through the door. Really enjoyed our time here. Friendly atmosphere, great tunes as well. The drinks are not crazy expensive considering it's in the heart of Boston. The bouncer, David, was the life of the party. He went around singing songs in front of everyone. While we didn't have any food, the food looked great coming out. Specifically the pretzel and nachos. This review isn't even about food. I went into this place bc my phone died and I needed to figure out if it died or just needed charge. I was sick out of my mind bc I was in a city I didn't know and no way of knowing how to get back to my hotel. They let me try to charge my phone and gave me a taxi number. I ordered food and drinks bc I'm not a leach, lol.it was good but I'm afraid I wasn't in the mood to eat or drink bc of my stress. Luckily a new charger brought my phone to life after they directed me to a cvs.. The French dip was good. The service was great bc they offered to help. read more

I was hee on a Thursday night with about 8 other people at the bar. There was one bartender working, Alicia. Then out of nowhere approximately 60 people came through as a pub crawl. This seems to be a common theme... My group and I approached the front door this past Saturday night and the bouncer was inside so we went in to show our ID. For a weekend night, it wasn't packed so we're looking forward to sitting down and enjoying a beer. Immediately the bouncer said we can't be here... "the fries are burnt, you guys can't come in." I responded, no worries we're not eating. The bouncer repeated himself, "you can't be here." We laughed it off thinking that's a weird reason, then realized after he let the group behind us inside. I'm Korean American and this was absolutely disgusting. This pub is giving Boston a terrible name. I'm reporting this establishment as racist and if you agree, please message me privately so I can coordinate experiences with local newspapers. read more

True Score: 2.25 Stars Disappointed Moseying through the streets, we chose to stop in and to quench our thirst. The bartender must have been having a bad day as her manners were lacking. She was downright rude. The sign out front states "The friendliest pub in the Hub". Maybe the employees should read and heed. We will not spend another cent here and suggest you go elsewhere. Nothing here of value or note. Too many other great choices. Could be really good, just made us feel like we were bothering them. Thanks read more

We went in after wrapping up The Freedom Trail on a very rainy day! We were soaked but Scotty the bartender told us to come and dry off. Had the chowder and salad and the food was good! My husband had potato skins with a Sam Adams hazy and it was good! Scotty made us fell very welcome and we had a good time. read more

Typical dive bar right in the city. It was understandably pretty quiet at 2pm New Year's Day, there were a few patrons sitting at the bar when we arrived. We ordered a couple drinks, a basket of onion rings, and two bowls of clam chowda. The clam chowda came out immediately. Unfortunately it was barely warm. There wasn't a lot of clams in it, and it was slightly runny. The onion rings were better, they were hot and tender. We didn't expect gourmet soup, but it would have been much better if it was hot. read more

I also got an order of Gochujang and lime sauced wings. These were phenomenal! The best wings I have had in a long time, maybe ever! Holy Shit, I want to go back to Boston just to eat these again. Cool atmosphere, very nice bartenders, very good beer and great wings!
