Really cozy dinner at emmets. My boyfriend and I decided to try this Irish pub and it didn't disappoint. We were seated right away even though it was packed--there's both standing room and table service. I ordered the beef and Guinness pie which I really enjoyed. It was flavorful and the crust was good. The infused beer was awesome. Mashed potatoes were great too, peas weren't my favorite but they were good. We split an Irish coffee after which we were excited to try but it was just so strong...I was glad to have tried it though. Overall solid historical place in the heart of Boston, can't beat it.

AMAZING pub and service - They sat us right at the table in the window (which was also so thoughtful, bc we had all our luggage with us and were trying to sneak one last bite in before our flight). Pub is gorgeous- dark wood, great energy, good smells, transported me back to County Mayo, Ireland. I had their brat special with the pint which was DELICIOUS and a great pairing for only $15! Bestie has bangers and mash which she said were spot on. Boyfriend had the taste of Ireland - Beef and Guinness stew, Chicken Pot Pie (he said was a bit sweet for his taste), and Shepards Pie. Emmets did not miss a BEAT- When I say everything was delicious, I'm sayin it with my chest.

Cozy Irish pub - a perfect place to catch up with a friend, enjoy a pint, live music or classic Irish dishes.

While we were in Boston we stopped in at Emmets Irish Pub, this your classic Irish Pub, with the dark wood and Guinness on tap. Our services were great and If you find yourself in Boston, be sure to stop by and experience the charm of this classic Irish pub for yourself.

Amazing experience at Emmett's. The atmosphere was great, the service was great, and the food was great. We had the fried pickles and nachos and they were both a good size and very good. Had the fish and chips and they were honestly the best fish and chips I've had. Not greasy at all, so tasty. I tried the curry too and that was very good.

Second visit to the pub! Came primarily for the atmosphere and the drinks. Nourishing and restorative pub food, and service with a smile. A little too loud for my taste - we couldn't have a conversation (needed to shout to hear each other). If a member of staff is reading this, please do turn down the music a bit!

This place is casual, fun, and has all the Irish classics, such as the Taste of Ireland which was so fun, with shepherds pie, chicken pot pie, and a beef stew, and of course has some good beer. We loved their fish and chips. Possibly one of the best I've ever had. Crispy batter, fresh cod, generous portion, great fries, tasty tartar sauce. Can't go wrong with that one. Staff was very nice, and they had a special milk cup for kids which we really appreciated since we have a toddler. Great place to watch a game, have a pint, or hang out with friends or family.

After spending a decent amount of time researching Irish food in Boston, we settled on Emmets Irish Pub. My first impression was the restaurant looks like a genuine pub with a dark and cozy atmosphere. It was busy on a Sunday, but we did end up finding a table quickly. The place is small, but there's enough room to get around. I noticed several drinks on tap and a decent size menu. At $20, the Taste of Ireland is what we both got. I recommend this, because you get three different small portions to get an idea of what Irish food is all about. Out of the three, the Guinness beef soup was both our favorite. It's very flavorful, unique, and the beef was tender. The other two were great, just the Guinness beef soup really stood out. The bread that came with the entrees was fresh and delicious. Service was good. A little slow for getting minor things, like water, but it's understandable in a pub environment. Overall, one of our favorites spots while visiting Boston, and one I would definitely come back to in the future. If you never had Irish food, check Emmetts out! If you have had Irish food, check them out!

Great time at this small authentic Irish pub just off the Boston Common. Family friendly (at least for lunch!) with traditional kids menu for the little ones and great tasting traditional food for the adults. Paired with some Guiness and what's not to love!

Emmets has the best Irish coffee. Had it with an authentic Irish breakfast. Staff were polite and fast. Definitely real Irish pub vibes.

Chicken Pot Pie

Very delicious food! Super dark restaurant, like a typical Irish pub. Quick waitress. The chicken pot pie and bread that came with it were so good. The pot pie was on the sweeter side, but it worked! The steak bites, mashed potatoes, and clam chowder were also all delicious!

YES YES YES to this Irish Pub. The Irish Stew Is The Star! I'm gonna say that this place is Historic To The Area... It's got really good vibes and all the people that frequent this fine establishment make the place. They are all so friendly. The staff is straight up hired from Ireland, giving this place a more authentic feel. Beer, Food & Good Times. Thank You, Emmet!!!

Great place to stop for a vibrant atmosphere, great drinks, great food and very fast and attentive service. We ordered whisky sours to start and they were made perfectly - not too sweet. I loved the Shepherds pie that came out piping hot. My husband enjoyed his Guinness beef stew. I also tasted it and I agreed. I appreciated the large chunks of vegetables. The portion was huge and it was very rich so order this if you're very hungry, plan to share or if you don't mind taking leftovers home. Our children thought the French onion soup was excellent. My son enjoyed the thick layer of delicious cheese on top. We had sides of French fries and they were wonderful. They were thick cut and double fried with a thick crispy outer crust. This is an excellent place to come for well made comfort food.

Tho I've never really liked full size burgers so always been a slider fan. Damn. Let me repeat, damn. Again, damn. Super simple but so so juicy and whatever sauce they are saucing on it? My mouth waters at the memory. They are decent sized and you get 4, plus a massive tower of also very good onion rings. The onion rings were good no complaints but after the sliders nothing was going to compare so I kind of forgot any opinions I had on them. Inside is cozy, staff are fun and great, reasonable prices and good vibes anytime I've gone in. And I'll be going in again soon bc damn. A few days later I was out with friends somewhere else and we got sliders and I was so disappointed now that I've known 21st's.

Place was not super busy and our server Izzy was on it...she seated us immediately and took our drink and food orders. We snacked on spinach dip which was pretty filling and ordered some cups of clam chowda! The chef put some southwestern flavor which I thought was fabulous, since we are from TX! We finished by ordering the plate of sliders and by far, the best pub sliders I have ever had! Everything we ate was amazing. Izzy was energetic and never let our glasses go empty! The building was historic and it felt like you walked back in time! We would go back in heart beat for sure!

I ordered the blackened chicken quesadilla and immediately understood why people write emotional support reviews on Yelp. Perfectly spicy, ridiculously cheesy, and so good I started eating faster in case someone at the table got "just a little taste" ideas. My wife got the fish & chips, which arrived looking like it belonged in a food commercial. Crispy, flaky fish, perfectly crunchy fries, and somehow not greasy at all -- basically the unicorn of fish & chips. My only regret is that we are in town for only a few days so we won't be able to return to 5 Horses Tavern until our next trip. If you leave hungry, that's on you.

The server was very knowledgeable and attentive. The tacos were pretty good, but if you're a taco maven, don't get them. To be honest, the fish taco had too much Mayo/sauce on it. They each came with two corn tortillas, which were a little stuck together as if microwaved. It was definitely my mistake because they are definitely not a Mexican restaurant. I would be interested in their salmon dish, as well as their bowls. Four stars for good options (gf included), good portion size, and good vibes. Will definitely be returning to try more!
