    Scotch egg

Yay! I loved my brunch at the dubliner and I would certainly be back if I am back in the area. The service was top notch even though they were quite busy. I got seated on a little side section by myself and felt like they took great care of me. I was looking for a full English in the area and couldn't find a place that did it with black pudding which is what I was really after. So since I had not had a full Irish before I figured I would give it a try. It did not disappoint. While there are a few differences between a traditional full Irish and a full English, mainly the Irish will typically have a white pudding the sausage is a bit different and they won't have hashbrowns or beans normally. Or bubble and squeak. This one thankfully DID have beans which I was thankful for! It also came with two eggs, tomato, mushroom, soda bread, bacon, black and white pudding, and home fries. I don't love hashbrowns unless they are the thin sliced ones so these weren't my favorite but everything else was delicious. The puddings were AMAZING I wish I had easier access to this where I live. Everything else good. I was very happy with this. I also ordered a scotch egg which I had not had before. It's like a fried meatball coating a soft boiled egg. They served it with applesauce. This was delicious! Can't comment on the actual bar unfortunately I don't drink a ton and was just there for breakfast. But I heard people speaking in thick Irish accents and the place was crowded. The ambiance of the restaurant is a typical Irish bar with lots of memorabilia all over the walls. The bar is average sized at first glance but if you go to the restrooms you'll find it's MUCH larger than it seems at first glance. You can walk in with a pretty large group on a weekend and likely get a table. Overall I loved my brunch here and I would be back!

Located across the street from Government Center, The Dubliner offers a classic Irish pub experience. The fish and chips is great. The batter is light, and the fish is flaky. Highly recommend.

    Braised beef hash and eggs

Came here to watch a Manchester United game and eat brunch and it was pretty good. I had the "braised beef hash and eggs" which was basically corned beef hash and my partner had the shepherd's pie. The beef was good but nothing to write home about, and my partner really liked the shepherd's pie. We both had spicy bloody Mary's that were not spicy at all, but were okay. Guinness pour was flat unfortunately, which surprised me for a downtown Irish pub. Server was nice, but not around much, the space is huge with multiple rooms, so sometimes we had to wait. Ambiance for the game was fun, we sat by the projector and it started to fill in with some fans and was pretty packed by lunch time. Would return to catch another United game at some point here.

I just went to The Dubliner for the bar scene, so I have no idea what it's like from the restaurant perspective... not that I generally like to order food from places that are more so bars, but if they got some good corned beef, I'll have to try it! Anyway, I had a solid time there and was happy that the line outside moved pretty fast. The bouncer had an Irish accent, which added to the vibe. All in all, this is your classic Boston Irish pub. Gets the job done.

Daytrip to Boston on a super snowy day. Almost everything was closed, fortunately the famous Dubliner was open! Super hot shepherds lamb pie, smoked salmon, and delicious chowder to the rescue! The service was solid and we enjoyed the classic Irish pub vibe.

While exploring Boston we stopped in The Dubliner Irish Pub for a bit of lunch. Great place close to the government center and also located on the red brick "Freedom Trail" for those who have been to Boston. Service was great with a friendly smile. The room definitely gave me that Irish Pub feel surrounding a great full bar. Our server took our beverage orders and answered any questions we had, came back with the beverages and took our food orders. Food came out hot and plenty, truly enjoyed every bite The menu offers a great lunch variety and something for everyone including many Irish entrees and dishes. Well done The Dubliner we will be back! Bravissimo e Mangiamo!

    Guinness beef stew

The portion for Guinness beef stew is big. I can only finish half of it. Flavor is good and they have a thick slice of bread to dip the sauce. However, their fish and chips are better. The batter is thin but crispy. The gravy sauce is even better than the beef stew. One thing to note is that they added administrative fee to the bill automatically.

Came while in Boston for breakfast. We loved it so much. We had to come back for dinner and listen to some live music. Was kind of disappointed in thinking it'd be more like an Irish vibe of a band plane, and it wasn't. But the guy they had was pretty good. The fish and chips was absolutely amazing, huge portion of fish. We shared, and then got two of the appetizers as well. The best part of the fish and chips was the gravy which kinda had a curry flair to it and was absolutely amazing. I'm not a huge curry fan and I loved it so it's worth a try. We also tried their Irish bread and the cheesy pearl barley bites. I attempted to find a picture of what the barley bites were like inside just so I knew what to expect and couldn't find one so I've attached that to my review as well. They were pretty good, not sure I'd order them again but definitely worth a try. The Irish bread like pretty much every type of bread was perfectly cooked, warm and loved the Irish butter. You have to go here while in Boston, the interior, exterior, the food, and the staff were all amazing. I'd have to say I prefer the breakfast over the dinner, but it wouldn't stop me from coming back for dinner.

Beef & Guinness pie - tastes great but made me bloat up within an hour

This is a bit of a rocky review. While in Boston I had to hit an authentic Irish pub with real Irish food and not that generic bar food most Irish bars serve like potato skins and stuff. I especially am always on the hunt for a great Guinness stew - one that is dark black and mainly made with Guinness and not reddish and mainly made with tomato sauce. Well, this place had an amazing Guinness stew. We also had an amazing Guinness stew pie, which was just the stew in a pastry crust. The fish and chips were huge and great. My half & half was poured just right. We had to pay for bread as an appetizer, which I'm finding is more common and totally lame. Anyway, everything was great right? So why not 5 stars. Well, I would've but I ate here on the way to the airport to head back to California. Well, a few minutes after being seated on the plane, we both suddenly bloated from something in the Guinness stew and the flight was incredibly uncomfortable, though luckily we didn't get sick. I would go back if I was in Boston and recommend. Just make sure you're going home after in case you get bloated or do get sick. Otherwise, kudos for a properly made Guinness stew.

    Pork Chop

An wholly underwhelming dining experience. Stopped in here for lunch and got the pork chop. It was cooked well done and not overly flavorful itself. The sauce was on the salty side and the large chunks of al dente roasted apple did not pair especially well and felt out of place. The accompanying mashed potatoes were unappealing due to the watery grainy texture and severe need for butter and cream. I had bites of my other friends foods which were all fine but nothing that really stood out. While the flavors did not wow, the portions were large. Service was good. Overall I was not particularly impressed.

Day Boat Fish and Chips, haddock, triple cooked (like a steak fry) mushy peas, tartar sauce, curry sauce at the first bar.

The food was BLASTA!! I had the Day Boat Fish and Chips, fresh haddock, mushy peas, triple cooked fries, tartar sauce, curry sauce, homemade ketchup.... wow... so, so good. The curry dipping sauce was delicious. I loved everything as did my boyfriend. He had the burger, which he will review...(its good) his skinny fries were so good too! We loved this place! The staff was friendly and our food came fast. The vibe was great! It was beautiful inside and outside. We would absolutely go back.

Reviewing as an out-of-towner: My wife & I wanted an Irish Pub experience but something a little nicer, & I felt like the Dubliner catered to exactly what we were looking for. I know there are more "authentic" options in the area, but we enjoyed the ambiance & the meal nonetheless! They have live music & are open late as well which is a big plus. We made a reservation day of & had no wait being seated even. We ordered the Day Boat Fish & Chips, Beef & Guinness Pie, Guinness Stout, Irish Coffee, & Sticky Toffee Pudding. We didn't have high food expectations as far as quality goes, but the food was actually very good. I'm a fish & chips guy & those were up to par & hit the spot. I'll be honest, I enjoyed my wife's Beef & Guinness Pie just as much if not more. Guinness was perfectly poured, & the sticky toffee pudding & Irish coffee were great quality & perfect way to end the meal! Our waiter was great, the ambiance was rowdy as expected but not too loud. Great hang out pub vibe & would definitely recommend.

Walked right in on Sunday evening and was sat immediately. I would have to say that this was the best Fish & Chips I've had, and would highly recommend just this dish alone to anyone. We also ordered the Shepherd's Pie which was also amazing but the Fish is the star here. Fried to perfection, thin crunchy batter around thick flaky fish. The fries are similar to steak fries; slightly crispy outside and soft inside; pairs perfect with malt vinegar or dipped with the curry included. Service was attentive and quick and the restaurant was clean, would certainly return if I'm back in town.

The shepherd's pie had no mince (just potatoes and peas), & the Guinness pie was more like a beef stew than a proper pie.
