I've never been to a sports bar with chandeliers so imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this bar while wandering around Newbury Street at night. I give major props to the staff, there was one bartender and one server covering the whole bar around 10PM on a Wednesday. And between all the orders, running, and quick service - they both made it all look so easy. Respect. I ordered one of their newer Pear cocktails and the Watermelon Blossom. The bartender also gave me a free flamingo floatie since I was so mesmerized by the miniature I ducks I got in my cocktails. I now have 3 arbitrary, super cute souvenirs as proof I went to Boston! After a day of shopping we stopped in for a cocktail. I was really impressed with their cocktail menu and all the options they have to offer. It's a little hole in the wall establishment that doesn't seem to get the love it deserves. It was basically empty while we were visiting. They had on good music and we enjoy doing the mystery shot and dancing at our corner table. Our server was great and attentive. Fun bar! Tucked away in Newburry street is a cute little fun bar where we love to visit whenever we are in the area. I really like the decor and fancy chandeliers. There is always great music playing and the waitresses are very nice. I really like their cool cocktail drinks, they are so good and come with props! This place needs more staff. We came on a Saturday around 1:00pm. Everything was slow and the server did not check on us. The place was packed and we saw people sit and leave after waiting. Family got the pink flamingo which was very fun and tasted good. I ordered the ahi tuna which had great flavor. This was the 90s eclectic bar of my dreams. Music-on point. Decorations- aplenty. Drinks- quality. Bartender Amanda was attentive and helpful with decision making on cocktails. The P*rnstar martini was one of the best I've had! We didn't stay for food but it looked super good. Excellent spot for a late night drink. Place was packed at 9 PM on a Thursday. Drink prices are on par with what's typical for Back Bay. My friend tried the bread pudding which is definitely shareable for 2-3 people. There are also TVs if you want to follow a game. I will definitely be back. read more

Descended into Foxhole on Newbury Street on a random Tuesday in July. Sat at the bar, which had a kind of fake hipster, corporate vibe. Should have expected as much from a Newbury street bar. $12-$15 cocktails. Didn't try the food. Went in on a Tuesday at 4 p.m. and it was totally dead. A few staff members watching tennis and chatting with each other. No one else there. Probably the wrong time of day. Cool subterranean space, but the vibe had a "look how quirky we are!" kind of feel. Maybe I just went at the wrong time. Either way, I don't think I'll be returning. read more

my partner and i stopped in for a quick bite before going to a red sox game. the waitress was great and quick with service, but if i were to critique one thing it would be how the items on the menu are described. my partner ordered a smash burger but it wasnt really a smash burger it was a regular burger. the arancini was not arancini it was more like a mac n cheese ball, which was a little disappointing. the chips and guac were fine, the guac was kinda smooth and i prefer it to be a bit more chunky but thats a me problem. taste wise the food was pretty good, selection was your basic bar type foods read more

We visited on a Friday night before the Boston Marathon. They serve bar food. We ordered pretzel bites (which were actually pretty substantial). A short rib grilled cheese and fish tacos. This is where things go south. We paid $16 for the grilled cheese which had two or three pieces of meat. No fries. No chips. We also got fish tacos which were no less disappointing in their lack of substance. Everything tasted good I guess but we left every bit as hungry as when we walked in. Not what we would expect from a place that basically serves bar food. This, and the music was so annoyingly loud that my wife and I couldn't hear ourselves think. Spend your $60 elsewhere. read more

Be Careful. I went into The Foxhole on Saturday August 30th in the afternoon for a quick beer. I had just finished work for the day. One Mich Ultra $7.49. I paid with a credit card, I added a $4.00 tip 53%, total is $11.49. On Tuesday when the charge cleared my bank it was for $16.49 someone changed the tip from 4.00 to 9.00. I went to speak with the manager on Wednesday, I was told he is only there in the evening, I told the person my problem and left my name and phone # for the manager to call me. NO PHONE CALL. I went back on Friday the 12th. The bar tender was familiar with my problem, said he had seen the note that was left for the manager. He texted the manager right in front of me, explained again my issue and gave my name and number. It is now Tuesday the 16th and I still haven't heard from anyone. This is unacceptable. I will not be going back there and I suggest you don't pay with a debit card if you go there. read more
