Excellent spot for a late night drink. Place was packed at 9 PM on a Thursday. Drink prices are on par with what's typical for Back Bay. My friend tried the bread pudding which is definitely shareable for 2-3 people. There are also TVs if you want to follow a game. I will definitely be back.

Old Fashioned- really good old fashioned for a really good price. I would suggest to any of my fellow old fashioned drinkers

Food, service, atmosphere, pricing is good for newbury street. I would suggest any one come here for a quick bite and good drinks. Fun spot

Great little hole in the wall pub/dive bar. The food and drinks were okay for a dive bar. Nothing too crazy but good and convenient.

5/5 - Jenga, Drinks, and Vibes Stumbled into this bar Thursday night and left with a Jenga game we'll be talking about for years. The drinks were great (bless the bartender), the music hit just right, and the energy was fun without being chaotic. If you're looking for a night of laughter and good drinks--this is your spot.

Foxhole on a Tuesday in July 2025

Descended into Foxhole on Newbury Street on a random Tuesday in July. Sat at the bar, which had a kind of fake hipster, corporate vibe. Should have expected as much from a Newbury street bar. $12-$15 cocktails. Didn't try the food. Went in on a Tuesday at 4 p.m. and it was totally dead. A few staff members watching tennis and chatting with each other. No one else there. Probably the wrong time of day. Cool subterranean space, but the vibe had a "look how quirky we are!" kind of feel. Maybe I just went at the wrong time. Either way, I don't think I'll be returning.

Wow great spot! Drinks were fantastic and flavorful, the connect four was incredible. Lively and casual atmosphere, playing old 2000s hits. Service was also very good and quick, the bartender was able to answer all questions!

Great drink menu. The espresso and smores martini were on point and would recommend. A bit hard to find. Small down stairs entrance. Give it a try.

The sidewalk seating is so nice; Fun people watching. Menu is limited, but with a good variety of. The steak panino was yummy with a spicy mayo. Waitress was friendly. Good came out quickly. Good variety of cocktails.

Foxhole was a great and very chill time when I went a few weeks ago. It still has a lot of the character from when it was Pinky's and now it has TVs for sports and friendly staff. Definitely on the chiller/more casual side of most of the spots on Newbury street!

Old fashioned

My friends and I ordered an old fashioned and it came out very smoky so inhaling the smoke while drinking it was an experience. They played Christmas music and the bar was decked out in Christmas decorations which was my vibe. Didn't stay long but overall had a great time!

Awesome decor and lots of sports TV to choose from.

Great hole in the wall. Went for a drink after a disappointing meal , was served as soon as I walked in door.

The Greatest Bar

I rolled into this place before a concert thinking I'd have "a couple quick ones." That was the…read morefirst mistake. This bar isn't a bar--it's a four-floor fever dream. It's like someone mashed together an amusement park, a zoo, and a full-blown circus, then replaced the cotton candy with alcohol and the safety rails with chaos. Every floor felt like a different dimension--one minute you're vibing, the next you're dodging a human traffic jam like it's bumper cars. But the real main event? Colleen. First floor. Absolute legend. Watching her work was like witnessing a headliner performance before the headliner. She wasn't bartending--she was conducting a symphony of pure mayhem. Drinks flying out of her hands like fireworks, orders remembered with supernatural precision, cracking jokes, keeping the energy electric--it was like if a ringmaster, a magician, and a quarterback all fused into one person behind the bar. I showed up stone-cold sober. Like, "responsible adult grabbing a pre-show drink" sober. What happened next was less of a night out and more of a controlled demolition. Somewhere between Colleen's perfectly poured chaos and the multi-floor madness, time stopped making sense. I'm pretty sure I blacked out on one floor and woke up on another like I was fast-traveling in a video game. At one point I may have been part of the circus. Not watching it--part of it. By the time I left, "walking" was no longer an option. I exited the building in a full crawl, like I had just survived a natural disaster. Limbs questionable, dignity gone, spirit intact. 10/10. No notes. Would absolutely risk it all again.

To me it's as expected. Bouncer at door, bouncer by the bathroom. Bartender who recommends not…read moreeating here. This is a 25 yo kind of place.

The service was good, and the menu has good variety. I had the grilled shrimp and avocado bowl--it was delicious. I had leftover rice and beans so took those home to enjoy later. I would love to come here on a football Sunday during the season, or to eat and watch another sporting event--plenty of screens around and big central/circular bar which I love in a sports bar.

Jake n JOES was perfect to host this at because it is a New England sports bar with plenty of TVs, a perfect game day menu, and a lively atmosphere to enjoy a game with sports decor surrounding. I'm glad they had this Celtics collab. The event was fun, they had free merch at a table handed out by Celtics cheerleaders and Lucky the Leprechaun. We got there towards the end but scored some merch. We did wait for a table since it was a full house for this, but luckily we scored one with a TV in view. My friends and I got dinner, opted out of drinks this round. I got the chicken quesadilla with a side of spanish rice. The quesadilla was pretty good, but the rice was a little undercooked. They also charged extra for a side of sauce which has never happened before so that was a bummer. I wouldn't have got one if I'd known. Oh well. We then split the cookie sundae which was yummy. Cookie was undercooked and a little raw but it was okay. Still tasted okay, food is always good but nothing to write home about. I like it though. The atmosphere and the shared energy of Boston sports fans being able to come together and enjoy a game makes up for the food being above average. I'll still come back and enjoy a game here.
