The food is always amazing and makes my taste buds sing. I loved the New years eve menu. It was great and very filling. The mushroom soup was a great starter. The duck ravioli and fried oysters were amazing and the main courses of scallops and risotto and the surf and turf with filet and lobster shrimp ravioli was amazing. The dessert was great with the a nice cup of coffee. This is one of our favorite places to visit. Never had a bad meal. The blood orange Margarita was very tasty and only needed one. Not sure what I was expecting, but this place was very, very good. Excellent service, nice environment. I got their chicken piccata, which isn't a super unusual or 'foodie' type thing to order. We were hungry for an Italian Food date night and Erica's was the place to be! We had a reservation for 630 and the place was full! Large bar area in the front with TVs and high top seating. We chose the dining room and had a booth. Our table had the fried clam special (Yassssss) and Fritto misto (yum!). For dinner,we had the stacked eggplant (mmmmm), the Seafood Fra Diavolo (HUGE!) Chopped Salad and Arugula salad. Server was lovely and helpful when deciding on what to eat. Dessert of Sorbet and home made key lime pie was fantastic. Such a delicious local gem! The decor is more of a family restaurant than a nice Italian spot. The food and drinks are very good, but our server brought my wife the wrong order, so she had to wait to eat, and there was no attempt to address the issue rather than preparing the dish she had ordered. read more

We were eager to try Erica's as a new restaurant to us. We ordered the veal parmigiana and pan roasted cod dishes. Cod was very good and the veal was cooked just right but the sauce on the penne was not all that great. The service was fine. It seems a little pricey for the dishes and I wish they would concentrate on being a bit more Italian authentic. The 70's music and the decor really needs to be addressed. Went to Erica's to kill an hour or so. Lively local atmosphere, maybe too local However, cocktail menu wasn't bad... tried a Gimlet with a twist of sorts. A little strong and slightly unbalanced... but quite tasty after a few sips getting used to it. Aranchin's were huge, three per order, also goat cheese and crostini... excellent. Bar staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. They seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Ambience is very nice, full enough to people watch but not too full to have to wait for a drink and lol for a seat. All in all , I will come back... but this time with more than an hour to spend! I can book u for a bar table for 645". When we showed up he was greeting the people. He said he knew nothing of our reservation. A friend of ours just started bartending at Erica's. What a find this place is! The bread is made on premises and has a bit of crunch on the outside and appropriately soft on the inside. We preferred it with butter but they serve it with seasoned olive oil. The chopped salad was so delicious and fresh with apples, pears, goat cheese and craisins with a fantastic dressing on the side. Dinner was a chicken with fontina cheese, mushrooms, sauteed spinach and asparagus with mashed potatoes in a delicious sauce. SO good! We tried Ericas for the first time. I found myself very confused. It has the prices of the North End, the ambiance of an irish pub (inside anyway) and the food IMO was less than mediocre. Maybe we got the wrong items? We assumed the pasta would be safe since its an Italian place. I was surprised the pasta wasn't homemade for the prices but not holding that against them( we assumed). Shrimp scampi was very bland and the seafood risotto was not really risotto, very mushy and watery and almost like a white rice /veggie soup feel. Also we had to pour S&P on our dishes as they were incredibly underseasoned. The bread was good. It seems maybe this place has just been around for a while and people just accept the mediocre food but since there's not many other places to eat in the area, it would be great if this kitchen got a revamp and brought in some modern cooks. We would definitely try it again if we could be certain the food would be better. I truly hope the restaurant reads these reviews and takes the constructive criticism! We need good food in this area. First time here, came with friends that had been before. This is what you call a hidden gem! Forget about the North End in Boston if you're looking for authentic, great Italian food (they also have other non- Italian dishes that looked great). I had the Scallops & Shrimp Puttanesca in a red sauce and it was fantastic. Friends had both the Muscles (and I tried a couple - really, really good plump and delicious) also Chicken Milano which was another hit. My family and I went to Erica's on a recent summer night and had a fabulous experience. Our server went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. I ordered the Farm Fresh Gimlet which was light and refreshing. My family tried it and wished they had ordered it themselves; it was that good. For appetizers, we tried the Fried Oysters and the Watermelon Salad from the specials menu, both delicious. For my entree, I had the Seafood Fra Diavolo after seeing many orders of it come steaming out of the kitchen and getting jealous. It was a heaping portion so I'm glad I had leftovers because it was delicious! I've been to Erica's several times over the past year. The quality of the food is outstanding and measures up to anything you can find in Boston AND more reasonably priced. The linguine with shrimp and scallops is absolutely delicious, you'll have plenty to bring home for another meal. Glasses of wine are a healthy pour and service is very good. The bar side has a buzz and great atmosphere. Now the negative... the reservation policy for getting a table in the bar side is bizarre. I tried twice to reserve a high top table in the bar side. Once with a party of 2, and once with a party of 3. While the high top tables are setup for a party of 4, it's nice to have a bit of elbow room that you don't get with the tiny tables for 2. Both times I was told by the owner there weren't any high top tables available at the desired times. I said I would wait for a table to open up but was told there weren't any available all night. So one visit the 2 of us sat in the outdated main dining room and the other visit the 3 of us were crammed into a bar side table for 2 which was quite uncomfortable. Both visits were during the week and there were plenty of high top bar side tables available throughout the night. My rating is 5 stars for food, drink, and bar side ambiance and 1 star for the odd, dishonest bar side reservation policy and 70's vibe dining room. No matter when you go in the staff is always so friendly, the bartender Greg is so welcoming and knows my drink of choice and what my favorite entrees are, the food is always excellent and consistent and the owner Sam and Erica are wonderful! No matter how busy the restaurant is, Sam always finds time to walk through the dining room to check in on the guests, see how the meal is, check to see if anyone needs anything and to make sure everyone is having a great night out. If the kitchen isn't too busy you will also catch Erica strolling through the dining room speaking with guests and make sure that the food was prepared to how the guest wanted it. It is so clear to see that Sam and Erica are passionate about their restaurant and the food. It shows in everything that they do! If you haven't been yet you have to go. Fantastic everything from the freshly baked bread served with our NYE fixed price dinners to the gelato. We are regulars for the pizza (especially the meatball....YUM!), but we'll be back for more after our NYE experience last night. Fried oysters and fresh-made duck tortelloni for starters, stuffed shrimp/filet Surf and Turf and Sirloin with mashed potato for mains, and flourless chocolate cake and gingerbread cupcake (both with various gelato flavors) for desserts... each thing better than the next! This hidden gem wouldn't seem anything great if you would base it on the decor and location. If you can get past that, you will experience an authentic Italian meal at affordable prices. I ordered the Papperadelle with Veal meatballs (appetizer) and chopped salad. The entree sizes are large so an appetizer size was perfect. The pasta was made fresh and served with 3 large meatballs. My friends and I shared a peach cobbler made fresh and it was delicious...sweet enough without being too sweet. Our server was attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be back! I heard about this place from many people saying it's great! Went on a Friday night and it was SO crowded! Friends have raved about the menu & it didn't disappoint. Was hard to chose but glad to find a good place where we can enjoy yummy pizza. The pizza was delish!! Not a fan of many other pizza places in metrowest. The meal portions I saw other people having looked huge & the pizza was more than enough. We were psyched that a friend recommended Erica's for a date-night visit. Anytime we can try a place that isn't a chain is A-okay in my book, and this neighborhood restaurant fit the bill. The converted home on Front St. was charming and unique, but plenty spacious for what it was. (Just watch your step walking up the front stairs as I'm sure it's not to code :) The ambiance of the place inside was great. We sat in the front room with its hardwood floors and vibrant Friday night bar scene, jazzed to dig in to the Italian deliciousness! The drink options were good, with a handful of mixed cocktails and plenty of wine to choose from. My wife enjoyed her Fresh Pear drink. Their beer options stayed pretty close to center with a few nice craft options, but most offerings were standard fare. When our drinks came we were given homemade focaccia to snack on. This bread was off the hook good. A little oil and I could have eaten it all night! Would have been nice if it was warm rather than served cold, but it was delish regardless. For me, measuring an Italian restaurant starts with their meatballs. We started by asking if instead of an appetizer we could try two of their homemade meatballs, in which they gladly obliged. The meatballs were great. Very tasty. Light and not too filling served with a delicious marinara sauce. Both meatballs disappeared pretty quickly. We asked about the sauce and they said all of their sauces are homemade. Yum! (More on that later) We were off to a great start! For the main course I stuck with the standard chicken parm, and the wife tried the grilled salmon. This is where the meal took a bit of a turn. On a bright note, the grilled salmon was wonderful, flakey, moist and flavorful, just as one would expect. However the broccolini and roasted potato sides, while cooked perfectly, completely lacked any flavor whatsoever. It was like they stuck them in the oven and forgot to put any seasoning on them. Blah. Where they completely lost it for me was on the chicken parm. A medium sized piece of chicken came with a soggy crust and red sauce that was almost uneatable. It was so sweet and tinny, it was like biting into an aluminum can. I was surprised they claim all their sauces are homemade. This sauce tasted like a low-end canned sauce from the market. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't order any of their dishes that came with this particular red sauce. Service was eh. Mostly attentive and knowledgeable, but disappeared at times and certainly had a fondness for her regulars. Oversold the menu just a bit imo. In the end we liked the ambiance and feel for a Friday night date-night, and would certainly consider coming back. It's just that our entrees lacked wow, and the tin-can red sauce still lingers with me. Maybe again someday, just no rush. read more

Been there twice now. It was very pricey and just okay. We will try it again because I always like to give a place at least 3 tries. My wine was empty for quite a while and the bartender just kept chatting with regulars and I had to get his attention to ask for my second glass. The pizza was average and nothing special. The bartender raved about the Fritto Misto like it was going to knock our socks off. It was just fried shrimp and calamari. Very disappointing! Hopefully next time is better. UPDATE: Gave it 3 tries and Meh...dropped a star. The food is just ok and it is too pricey for just ok. Sorry. I had high hopes since it is so close to home. read more

I didn't want to sit with a frozen meal tonight. There are a few good real restaurants in Ashland. The other place has a really crowded and awful parking lot with a train going by every so often. What to do? Erica's on front Street. I sat at the bar. It was early enough but even the bar area filled up quickly. I would find out later her name is Katie. She is one of the bartenders. We discussed beers but most are IPA s, not my favorite. But I settled on one, Wild squirrel. Citrus notes and delicious. Kat took my order for pizza. Like a flying saucer. I had the wild mushroom and goat cheese with basil leaves. Outstanding! The owner remembered me from previous visits and stopped by to chat. The service is fast and friendly. The food, my first time in the bar, was excellent. Ambient noise is not a distraction. Kat and I shook hands after an hour of good food and drink. read more

Decided to check out Erica's Ristorante last night for dinner and we were so pleasantly surprised-the food was excellent, the ambience was so cozy and the staff were superb (especially the bartender Emma)!
