I've got to say mostly everything I tried was truly craft beer. I'm a hop head and was happy to see excellent IPAs being poured by many breweries present. I stayed away from the nationals because those beers are easily acquired at home. Having been to quite a few of these brewfests, it took a while to learn some discipline in regards to discarding an excellent beer. I tasted over 60 different beers/ciders, jotted down my thoughts, and reluctantly threw the remainder away, to be entered in Untapd later. I never would have gotten that many down if I decided to finish each one. My only gripe was the price. $35-$40 instead of $50 would have been more commensurate with the amount of breweries present and the small venue itself. I paid $53 last year at the Atlantic City BF where they had over 150 breweries, if I can use that as a comparison.

Parking could be a problem but we arrived early & found spots about a block away. The dark side of that is it was a frigid night & everyone had to stand in line outside in the wind & cold. Not that that could be helped but it was not pleasant. Thankfully, they had a great system going where they checked your ID on line, you got a wristband, & once the doors opened you could go right in. The armory is a cool building & I think a great spot for a brewfest. It was a bit crowded but people all seemed to be respectful of each other & it was fairly easy to get thru the crowds for samples. There were roughly 60 breweries represented, many of which were local to the New England area. I would say most of the samples I tried were very good to excellent. This crowd knows how to brew a good beer! There was a guy playing some decent music on the guitar in the corner (at least what I could hear of it). They had a couple of food stands, however we did not purchase any food so I can not comment on that. There were port-o-johns available. My only negative comment is I thought $50 was steep for this festival. It was a smaller venue. The Atlantic City Brewfest with twice the amount of breweries is only a little more expensive. That being said, it would not stop me from returning. We had a great time.

That said, I'm convinced that the heart and soul of this place are solid, and the city will be sorry to see it go.

The venue was a little loud and echo-y, and the educational talks were impossible to hear, but the place was filled with good energy. It would have been nice to have some tall tables to collect oneself/drink beer/snack, but I'm not sure where they would've gone... Smart moves: band outside singing "have your ID ready" ( both for entertainment value and practical purposes). The line was fairly sizable but moved quicker than I expected. Even the longest lines at the beer tables moved quickly, and having beer upstairs and downstairs was a good way to split up crowds. It seemed like endless amounts of beer, which is probably the actualization of a beer nirvana. I had a great time and would definitely recommend!

I attended the afternoon session & getting into the Rhodes on the Pawtuxet was a breeze. I had no issues waiting for pours at most brewer's tables. It seemed there were a few absences (Goose Island, Bell's & Sam Adams) but there were other breweries taking their place. I always like the special one off collaboration brews that you can only get at Beervana. The attending breweries always bring their A games & love showcasing their brews. There are beer festivals almost weekly but Beervana is definitely the premier one in New England if you ask me.

A group of friends and I met up on a beautiful fall day to have some wine and sit outside in the…read moresunshine and spend time catching up. The winery is open 12-4 on weekends and allows you to bring in your own food, which was the perfect way for us to enjoy some local wine in a beautiful setting. There is seating inside the house, outside on a covered patio area, and they have tables scattered across the lawn so there are many options to pick from. We each decided on a wine flight before selecting some bottles and paired it with the snack trays we brought from home and we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon together on the grounds of this vineyard. One thing to note, the road to the winery is very narrow so they employ a metered light system at the beginning of the road. It's important to wait for the red light to turn off before driving down the narrow stretch. The person in front of me didn't do this and ended up having to back up (reverse) down a narrow and winding path to allow the incoming cars (who had the right of way) through. For visitors with mobility needs, there is a grass parking lot and lots of cobblestones and lose rock to navigate during your time here, so be mindful of that. There are a few stairs in order to gain entry into the house to shop/select the wines and the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible.
