Hubby & I were across the street at ISCO for an event & decided to pop into the new Buttonwoods Brewery location. It is the former location of Revival Brewing Company & Lost Valley Pizza. It is a large open space, they took out the big front bar & the weird bar in the back. Beer is excellent - we tried the German pilsner & the Italian Pils. There is lots of seating & some fun vintage arcade games. The kitchen has been taken over by Screaming Unicorn. We didn't eat because we were heading out to dinner but the pizzas looked delicious. We will definitely be back!

I've been in several times and the staff is always friendly! We've gone to trivia on Wednesdays a few times and it's fun. Make sure you check that day in history and who's born that day cause there are always questions about that! Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is cause they predominantly make IPAs and I don't like the variety. They have has a couple semi sours lately which are tasty!

So excited to discover this place! Great beer, great vibes, great bartenders - will be back for sure!

New place looks amazing! Absolutely love the changes they made, so much warmer, and exceedingly more inviting. Still happy to see the same furniture from Cranston, making those of us that frequented feel right at home. Beer was delicious and the food from screaming unicorn was delicious! Super friendly service as always.

This is my new favorite Rhode Island brewery! The stout was so flavorful and complex. My surprise favorite was the sour with orange and vanilla!! Tasted like a boozy creamsicle! Can't wait to come back

The beer is some of the best I've had in RI. The atmosphere is very unique & rad creating its own character & feel in a world where a lot of breweries look like Apple stores now. The service was quick & friendly. They allow dogs inside which is a huge positive.

I attended Trivia night at Buttonwoods and had a splendid time. The beer is good but you probably know that already. The venue is positively post-Industrial and a nice warm spot tucked into an old mill building. There was a food menu themed after the trivia that night (Twin Peaks) and while I didn't partake my friends loved what they tried. The trivia host was exceptional. I plan to return for another of their trivia nights down the line.

This is a very long overdue review for Buttonwoods. 5/5 stars for the beer, the variety, and the ambiance. The first time I went to Buttonwoods was right before the pandemic. The space was warm and inviting--an honest-to-goodness hidden gem in RI. (Navigating the gravel industrial parking lot is a bit of an adventure, but that's part of the unique charm.) We picked up beers curbside during the pandemic, and now we finally made it back this fall to see how the inside has changed. It's a perfect refuge for anyone looking to spend a rainy weekend afternoon with friends or family. On the most recent visit I tried a bottle of First Breath, a Rustic Industrial Ale with Blueberries. It was crisp, perfectly tart, and bursting with blueberries. Their Pilsner was a highly crushable delight too. There's really something for everyone on their tap list which is part of the joy of going. If someone in your group only drinks IPAs or sours, odds are they're going to have something divine for either. From 2019 to now they've been putting out amazing product and we look forward to going back more regularly in 2024!

Buttonwoods Brewery is a craft brewery that opened in Cranston, Rhode Island in December 2017. It was founded by brewer Morgan Clark Snyder Jr. After college, Snyder knew that he wanted to be involved with the alcohol industry in some way and he took up homebrewing as a hobby. After getting good at it, he volunteered on the bottling line at Hardywood Park Brewery in Richmond, VA and later earned an internship with Union Beer Distributors in Brooklyn, NY. Snyder eventually found himself working as a brewer for Bronx Brewery. After learning as much as he could about the beer industry, he convinced his father to go into business with him and open their own brewery. Snyder named the brewery "Buttonwoods" after the section of Warwick that his parents lived in. They found a space inside a circa-1912 old mill building and named it "The Annex". At Buttonwoods Brewery, Snyder brews everything from European-style lagers to farmhouse ales to New England IPAs. The brewery quickly earned a reputation for being one of the finest in the state. My son and I recently visited Buttonwoods Brewery after we went on a long bike ride on the nearby Washington Secondary Bike Path. I decided to look and see if there was a good brewery nearby for lunch, and Buttonwoods came highly recommended. I really liked the look, decor and atmosphere of "The Annex"; a really chill place. My son was entertained by their vintage arcade cabinets. There's also an area with a stereo system where customers can spin some vinyl. The brewery had a nice mixture of different styles available on draught during my visit. I decided to order short pours of "Go Up In The Clouds" (Pale Ale), "Move Mountains" (New England IPA), "Object Permanence" (Citra IPA), and "Cool Arcade" (DDH Zero IBU Double IPA). I thoroughly enjoyed every single beer that I sampled. Buttonwoods also has their own on-site kitchen named "Screaming Unicorn". My son and I were pretty hungry so we ordered and shared the "Sweet Chili Popcorn Chicken" (crispy chicken thigh chunks, sweet chili glaze, miso aioli dipper) and the "Unicorn Fries" (super special seasoning, chili glaze, avocado crema, scallion). Both dishes were very tasty and paired well with the beer! I'm so happy that so many great craft breweries have been popping up in Rhode Island in recent years and Buttonwoods is no exception! I'll definitely be back!

Buttonwoods is an awesome brewery. It looks like there is only street parking but that's not true. I didn't realize until after COVID that there is a huge parking lot in the back so definitely using that moving forward! Before COVID, you were able to drink inside and you could see the equipment they use to brew in house. It's crowded but never too loud. They have a brewery dog Ollie that is so calm and absolutely adorable. If you're hungry, there would be a food pop up inside on the weekends. It's always fun when you visit. After COVID, tables are now set up in the back. There is usually a food truck on site that you can order from online for social distancing. Now I often visit to enjoy a food truck and the latest sour Buttonwoods has created. I love that they rotate the sours so you can always try something new. I definitely recommend visiting!

    DIY style up in here.

Bold beers Makes Cranston proud Convivial environment I can't call Buttonwoods a community per se, but every visit feels like being among your community. All are friendly, all are accommodating, all are having a good time. It's never too loud, but it's nearly always boisterous and upbeat. Good conversations happen here. A variety of beer styles are on rotation here. Food trucks love pulling up and serving here. Select dogs are a natural delight here. Some light fun and games are a feature here, as are vinyl Thursdays. Morgan is someone you want to meet and have long conversations with, and elicit some good, solid, resonant laughs from. Ollie is someone you want to pet, lavish with attention, and bring home (you know...if that wasn't going to be a problem). If you like beer, come here. If you like people, come here. If you like to drink good beer with good people, come here often. See you around.

This place was really cool. Found them on Yelp when we were in the area for shopping. It is two breweries inside one space. We found it loud at first until we found out Wednesday nights area trivia nights. Everyone was having fun and lots of banter back and fourth with everyone. Unfortunately we got there when the game was already going on. Thursday night is vinyl night so you can bring albums and they play them. They also have a small kitchen that serves a few items. We had the chili nachos which were not bad at all. Can't wait to go back on another night to see what other things they do.

The outdoor areas out front or in back are dreamy in the warm weather, when they also open the garage door and let the warm air flow through (I once got pretty bit up in the back area outside though, so pro tip: wear pants or bug spray). Dogs are welcome here and I love to see the furry cuties visit. They offer multiple types of dog treats for four legged customers, which is such a thoughtful touch! The beer is focused on authentic, European lager / pilsner styles and doesn't switch up very often. Their beers are not very sweet, but they usually offer multiple types of pilsners and lagers at any given moment. The styles they specialize in are not my most favorite, which is my only reason for removing a star, but take a look at the menu - if those styles are your jam, they seem to be pretty authentic and you will probably love them. I usually go for the Pink Lemonade Seltzer and it's great and very fizzy. I went today as part of The Big Lebrewsky and they offered a "tasting," which to my delight consisted of a flight of 3 - very generous! I got the Coffee Stout (very strong), Irish Red (smoother and I enjoyed more than I thought- a solid choice!), and the Czech Pilsner (very light and goes down smoothly/easily). I loved this opportunity to branch out to some styles I don't always go for when I'm here. Special shout out to mascot Stella who always makes my day when she makes an appearance. It's usually easy to find street parking here, although the street has a decent amount of potholes, so keep an open eye lol. A cozy, fun place in a relaxed part of Providence just off the highway that's easy to access - great for an afternoon weekend or casual date night.

The two met when they both worked at a brewery in Honolulu. Once returning to Rhode Island, the couple decided to open their own gastropub in Stephanie's hometown of Westerly. Dubbed "The Malted Barley", the business focused on craft beer paired with gourmet pretzel sandwiches. The pretzel dough is made fresh daily, and every pretzel is rolled and stuffed by hand. After much success, the Bennetts looked to franchise their business model. After signing a licensing agreement with investor Ron Koller, a second Malted Barley opened in Providence in March 2016. In March 2023, the Bennetts closed the original Malted Barley in Westerly so that they could focus on their flower farm, Echo Rock Flowers, as well as their family. The Malted Barley in Providence continues to run under the ownership of Ron Koller. I visited the original Westerly location of the Malted Barley in 2014 while I was on a craft beer bus tour. I was so impressed with their excellent craft beer selection and delicious gourmet pretzels that I decided to make the gastropub a stop on my craft beer bachelor party bus tour three years later. I was very sad when I heard that the original location closed down, but I took comfort in knowing that a second location still existed in Providence. I recently visited the Providence location for lunch while I was passing through the area. When I walked in, I immediately smelled the freshly baked pretzels. For food, I ordered the "Barley Bacon Beast Burger" (75 % beef 25 % bacon patty, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, more bacon w/ a side of ketchup) on an Everything Pretzel. It really hit the spot. I must add that these pretzels are essentially a hybrid between traditional Bavarian pretzels and New York-style bagels: salty and crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. While looking over the beer menu, I was surprised to see that the Malted Barley now brews their own house beer in addition to guest taps. I ordered a taster flight that featured Malted Barley's "Banana Bread" (Traditional Ale) and "Monster Juice" (Hazy IPA), as well as Long Live Beerworks' "Invisible IPA" (hazy IPA) and Phantom Farms Brewing's "Coarse Woody Debris" (Saison). All of the beers were very refreshing and paired nicely with my pretzel sandwich.
