Judged a book by its cover. Walked in with a big group. They were quick to accommodate on a Friday night. Ordered a ton of food across four tables. I went straight to the fish and chips. Comes with fries and slaw. I loved the fish and chips. Fries were great. I'm a slaw snob but it was ok. Would have liked to swap for a salad. At my table was the hot chicken sandwich and was polished off. Saw a salad with steak tips and was told they were delicious. Friendly staff, very accommodating, never felt rushed, never had to ask to fill or replace a drink. Would definitely go back if in the area. read more

They have a lot of the previous staff, like Neal who really holds it down at the bar- they make a killer martini... can't wait to try the food on the new menu as it sure does smell good! Two of us went for a meal before the theater performance around the corner. It was our first time since the place changed hands and was redesigned. The restaurant remains similar to the earlier version. A long mural on the wall has found its way to the ceiling making it hard to see - a pity. Each of us had a 16oz beer, both of which were good. My companion had a large Caesar Cutlet with a side of broccolini, which was good. I tried the fish and chips done extra crispy which was very good. The portions were generous. We ended by sharing a decent Boston Crème Bomb. The check came to $78. It was not 'fine dining' but basic pub fare. Our server, Isabella, was generally cheerful and attentive. Great lunch menu for a brewhouse! The fried chicken sandwich was perfectly fried and seasoned, and the quinoa salad was filling and really tasty. The grilled chicken on top of the salad was perfectly charred and the avocado slices added a lot of flavor. Great selection of their own brews plus guest taps as well as a full bar with wine and liquor offerings for those non beer drinkers. Bar area had a decent amount of seating and there were plenty of tables in the main restaurant space as well. read more

I've been a long time fan of Trinity Brewhouse and was a little, well, nervous to try them out after all of the recent changes/ renovations. The inside is so much brighter with lighter colored furniture options, it opens the space up. The new chairs seem a little less comfortable and less pub-y than before. Our server was incredibly helpful, perky, and kind! We came late and so ordered off the smaller late night menu. We badly wished there were something simple and classic like mozzarella sticks on this seemingly limited menu. I ordered the nachos, and while you could definitely taste the "beer infusion" in the quest, they were lukewarm at best. On a cold drizzly night, I just wanted some toasty chips, so in a move a little out of character for me, I asked if they could be warmed. Our server had them remade fresh and patiently answered our multiple questions when ordered. She admitted they "don't heat up the nachos" and just "hope the queso sauce warms them up enough", which she agreed is ridiculous, so head's up - ask for the nachos warmed! They were much more tasty once that adjustment was made. My friend enjoyed her burger but found the fries a little lackluster. I ordered the Strawberry beer and found it incredibly strong and hard to drink - not fruity as much as I would have expected! I should have seen the "very strong" part coming since it is over 12%, so that's on me, but it was not at all what I was expecting. My friend and I both thought it sent a weird message that the upstairs bathrooms are just labeled "Men" and "Family Restroom" - why no women's room? I do love some of the new artwork they used and look forward to trying out the full food menu. I'll always have big love for this place, but the late night food could use some improvements. Our server was top top tier and made this a much more pleasant experience than it would have been based on what we ordered alone. read more

It was great to be back at Trinity! The renovation looks good. I had to check out the basement while there and the murals are gone, but I like the new vibe. My friends and I only came for drinks and didn't get food, but the drinks were good and the woman behind the bar was really kind. The menu looked good, I would definitely go back. read more

We recently came after the reopening of trinity brewhouse. While I found it just "okay" before, I think this new food program is going to be a great success! Sampled both a sandwich and pizza and both exceeded my standards. Bartender was friendly and attentive, even with having been so recent with opening! Bar was beautiful and still kept the brewhouse charm with the TVs and more casual menu. Noise was not an issue, which can be hard for a brewpub setting! Trinity Brewhouse is located in the heart of Downtown Providence right around the corner from Trinity Repertory Theatre and across the street from The AMP Center and the Rhode Island Convention Center. Trinity Brewhouse was established in 1994 as one of the first brew pub restaurants in New England. My husband and I came here on a Friday night for dinner. The bar had a few patrons and there was only 1 other group there. As the night went on, more people came. There are plenty of tables, both for small groups and large groups, and there is a covered outside patio. The hostess seated us at a booth inside and Kristine was our waitress. I started with a pint of the Belgian Strawberry ale that was brewed with 330 pounds of fresh strawberries and a touch of festive spice to deliver the perfect balance of flavor and aroma. It had a good strawberry taste, but it wasn't significant and overpowering at all. My husband had a half pint of the Black Pearl that was brewed with select malts and molasses. It was roasty and chocolate aroma and flavor with molasses finish. For appetizer, we had an order of the trinity seafood cakes. This had two golden fried cakes loaded with shrimp, scallops, and flaky haddock topped with roasted garlic sriracha mayonnaise over a bed of corn and black bean salsa. When you cut into the seafood cakes, you can see the full shrimp pieces and it was very flavorful. I would definitely get this again. I ordered the pickle jack burger which was served on a brioche roll with fried pickle spears, pepper jack cheese, roasted garlic sriracha mayo, baby greens, and tomato. I was disappointed that the "fried pickle spears" were just a few fried pickle chips and not spears. Also, the brioche roll was dry and not warmed up. However, the meat was juicy. My husband had the Seafood Stew, one of the specials, which had fresh oven roasted N.E cod loin, bay scallops and mussels, carrots and served in a flavorful white wine, tomato and seafood reduction with roasted potatoes. The stew was very flavorful and had a lot of seafood. For dessert, we had the Belgian Pearl Sugar Waffle a la Mode. This was the best part and the highlight of the whole meal. The waffle was sweet and perfect with the ice cream. I would get this again as well. Service was great, Kristine was attentive and checked in to see how we were doing, but the food was mediocre. Now, there are other pub restaurants in Downtown Providence and I think they are better. Trinity Brewhouse is perfect for dinner dates, business lunches, or a night out with friends. read more

The beer, the name, & the location are the same but when you walk in you feel like you are in a re-invented spot. The inside is very refreshed with medium-bright in lighting & modern looking. The menu is less pub food & more restaurant food. The pizza & sub were pretty tasty & since the pizza was small it was easily shareable as an app between 2 people. The Irish nitro stout is still my favorite beer offered, interestingly it seems like there were more mixed drinks being enjoyed than their own brewed beer. The reason for 4 stars is the service was all over the place. It was an all hands on deck day but everyone was everywhere & all over the place. This I imagine will improve as people work more together & find a groove. The other reason for the 4 stars is the fish tacos weren't great. They were fine but I don't plan on ordering again when there are much better options available for ordering. read more

Stopped in to pick up some beer for our homebrew club's biennial RI Mash Madness competition. The manager was super helpful and gave us samples of all the new beers which were created by the new brew master. Tough decision but we chose the Down With O.C.P. brown ale for the competion. While we were there we had the very tasty Pig Candy appetizer, a Black Bean Burger and a warm bacon salad with crispy Brussel sprouts. We enjoyed all the food, service was outstanding and, a week later that beer made it to the Final Four! Lost a star for moving the mural to the ceiling. read more

Going to Trinity was a blast from the past as we used to frequent this brewhouse regularly back in our BC (before children) days. Menu is still awesome with pub staples such as nachos (the best!) and burgers, but they've got some fresh updated entrees that look delicious as well. The decor is the same as it has been for 20+ years, and it's just perfect for a city brewhouse feel. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the beautiful evening on their covered deck. Service was spot on and we enjoyed friendly conversation with our server. Great to be back and hopefully we'll return to Trinity soon! read more

We tried speaking to someone after about fifteen minutes of waiting but we were completely ignored. The renovations completely ruined the ambiance, the place has no character anymore. The Trinity used to be a highlight of Providence for me but now I don't think I'll ever go there again. read more

My main reason for coming to Trinity Brewhouse was to get one of my favorite beers, the Maple Brown! I was also a bit hungry and decided to get dinner. We got the Three Bean Chilli, and I ordered the Lobster-Shrimp Mac & Cheese. The Three Bean Chilli is flavorful, but the Tortilla chips that came with it could've been better. I prefer the Tortilla chips to be warm, fresh and crispy. These chips were room temp, not quite stale...but getting there. I did enjoy the Lobster-Shrimp Mac & Cheese. It had big chunks of Lobster, Shrimp was cooked perfectly and its reasonably priced. The staff were pleasant, we were able to be seated quickly and our order came in a timely manner. No Bueno!! I'll start with the one positive thing; our server was good. The penne shrimp pasta was a gross. I'm sorry it had big chunks of cheese that didn't melt well. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffle and the mash potatoes on that dish was very taste. Not sure what made my boyfriend sick but since he ate there he had stomach issues maybe food poisoning. Came here to grab a beer in the afternoon as it was right by our hotel. Upstairs was quite lively, we sat downstairs where there were still plenty of open seating available. The server was gracious enough to change the Christmas movie that no one was watching to the Celtics game, and came to check on us with reasonable frequency. The flight of beer was good value and it was nice to get a variety. My favorites were the lemon bar and maple brown. We also ordered the pretzel sticks and cheese dip, pretzels were mediocre, the cheese dip however managed to make it taste worse, as it was so very thin and artificial, jarred quesos would have been better. While I'm now a bit hesitant to try more food items here, I'd be happy to come back for more beers. read more

We were a very large group and they were able to accommodate our party. The service was perfect and the food and beer were fantastic.

Cozy little spot with some really good beers and conveniently located in downtown Providence. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay but for one beer (RI IPA) but enjoyed the staff and the beer. Hopefully next time I can grab some grub. read more

The nicest staff. They are very conscientious of food allergies. My son was on our reservations but decided not to join us. The server noted the allergy. Great beer and beverage selection. I opted for the blackberry downeast, husband got the purple passion sour. Both, so good!!! The food was just okay. I enjoyed the Reuben. The meat was sliced a bit thick but still decent. The hand cut fries were unfortunately overcooked and hard. The lobster/shrimp Mac and cheese was not very good. I tried really hard to eat it but the lobster didn't taste fresh and it was very salty. The side salad was tasty. We were not going to say anything but our server noticed we didn't eat it and offered to take it off the bill which was very kind. We ordered two more of the same drinks in lieu of another meal because it's vacation week and liquid dinner is completely acceptable. So cheers to great service and delicious beer. Also we were super lucky to score parking right outside when we arrived and because it's Sunday, it was free. Winning. We will definitely return for the beer and kindness. Update: (and one less star because owner is a horrible human being). I was just informed the owner of this business is none other than Josh Miller. What is important to know about him is that he is a RI state senator. As a public servant he is paid by the people of RI to serve the people of RI. He recently keyed a vehicle of a RI citizen who's car was parked at Garden city because he did not agree with their political views. This is a brazen act and shows complete disregard for freedom of expression. I will absolutely not support a business run by a corrupt politician who believes he is above the laws that he should be protecting and helping enforce. While the beer is good and the staff is friendly, at the end of the day most of that money lines his pockets. As a taxpayer I refuse to give him any more of my hard earned money from being a nurse (who actually respects other people and their rights, and autonomy. He should take lessons in kindness from his staff. Shame on him. read more

With amazing luck we wound up here on a Monday.. aka wing night. Wings were half off. Got the Jamaican jerk which were super saucy and even spicier. Husband got the chicken and waffles. Yumm and the mashed potatoes that come with it were to die for. He's an IPA aficionado but wasn't too thrilled with his RI IPA. I on the other hand love cider and was happy with their selection. The service was second to none. The waitress was so authentically nice and efficient. The ambiance was dark, homey, but incredibly cute in my opinion. A local brewery with good prices to boot. It's rare to find craft beers that aren't a ripoff so this quite a find. Trinity Brewhouse is a popular place in downtown Providence. Also they have food and not just bar crap. The food prices can vary but some are cheap too. I came for a meetup. Luckily we picked this cool place. This is conveniently located in downtown near many hotels so if you're staying around here this is a good place for beer, and food too. Crazy amount of choices. Lots of their own beers are on tap. I had a Maple Brown. It's $5.50 for a pint. This is one of their most popular. It's a brown ale. This also has Belgian, British, and German specialty malts. Also it had a sweetness within the hippiness. This is because it's also made with maple syrup. Also try some of the good food. They have stuff beyond fries and wings. I had the Vegan 3 Bean Chili. It's $6 for a cup. This is more than it looks. Amazingly good beer and food. It can be quiet sometimes and loud at others. The prices are very good for a craft brewery and there's not many you can find cheaper than Trinity. read more

Trinity Brewhouse is a craft brewpub that opened in Providence, Rhode Island in December 1994. It was founded by Joshua Miller, who has also served as a Rhode Island state senator since 2007. The brewpub was one of the first to open in New England and was given the name "Trinity" in reference to the Trinity Repertory Company nearby. Veteran brewer Sean Larkin was the brewpub's original brewmaster and crafted fine ales and lagers there for several years before leaving in 2014. He later became the founder of Revival Brewing Company in nearby Cranston. In addition to Trinity's delicious house-made brews, they also serve delicious food such as steakhouse entrees, pasta, seafood, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, salads, wraps, and various appetizers. My wife and I first visited Trinity Brewhouse in October 2014 after visiting the Roger Williams Park Zoo. We stopped in for dinner before heading back to the zoo to see their annual Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at night. The interior of the brewpub was really cool and decorated with all sorts of signs which resembled posters from old school carnival freak shows. My wife and I ordered and shared a taster flight which consisted of "Oktoberfest" (Märzen), "Bohemian Pilsner", "Ruby Rye", "Rhode Island IPA", "Wonka's Porter", and "Belgian Imperial Pumpkin". The latter was our favorite. We wanted to take some home, but they ran out of growlers of it. To eat, I ordered some of Trinity's Buffalo wings which went great with the beers. Trinity Brewhouse is located downtown Providence, on the opposite end of the block from Trinity Repertory Theater. They brew their own beers and have a nice menu of pub fare including pizzas, salads, burgers, and entrees. They also have a menu for the tiny people in your life (children that is). The atmosphere is relaxed with high tops on the bar side and booth seating on the other. They now offer outdoor dining as well as a bar downstairs. At the time of this review they recommend making reservations. I tried to use the on-line option and was told there was no room available so I called and was told, there is plenty of room! So if you can't get a table through the app, give them a call. Restrooms are located at the back of the bar area and downstairs. Stop in at the hostess station upon arrival to be seated. Parking on street after 6pm Monday - Saturday and all day on Sunday is free. Before 6pm, metered spots are $1.25/hr ($0.25/12 minutes). Additionally there are several parking garages, including one next door, an under ground lot across the street and you'll drive by a lot on Empire Street, just before the restaurant, so you have options. Trinity Brewhouse has a variety of craft brews, tasty food, excellent waitstaff and relaxed vibe. Stop by for a beer, nachos, dinner with friends. It's a good choice. read more
