I stopped in for the first time yesterday to grab a drink and a bite, and I'm so glad I did. The space has a large bar with a true neighborhood feel -- you can tell a lot of the regulars know each other, which gives it a welcoming, comfortable vibe. Everything was clean and well-kept. The bartender greeted me right away and made an excellent martini (a generous one, too!). After seeing so many reviews rave about the burgers, I ordered the cheeseburger club -- and it absolutely lived up to the hype. It was huge, cooked perfectly, and the fries were hot and crispy. Ted's is a great local bar and restaurant. The dining area is separate from the bar, and both are really nice. The bar has lots of seats and the dining room has around 10 tables. Food is cooked fresh to order - they make everything in house and I've been told that they don't even have a microwave in the kitchen. That being said, plan to wait a while for your food, especially when it is busy on the weekends. In my opinion, fresh is worth the wait, but sometimes, the wait is really, really long. Service is good - usually friendly and efficient. The last time I was there I felt like the server was overwhelmed, but it was a really busy Saturday night with lots of food orders as well as a full bar. The food: the mushroom burger was good, also, the type of fries they serve are DELICIOUS. We did not like the red cabbage on the salmon tacos, but was good otherwise. Ok so walking in was a little weird. You walk into a bar with the dining room was in the back. There was no music pumping into the dining room but good thing the table next to us was loud or we would be silent. They give cloth napkins - which seems too fancy and I wanted paper napkins for the food we ordered. To start the 86th list was a lot which made me think that things would not be great so we stuck to burgers and mozz sticks. The service was good and definitely a place that has their regulars. The food- definitely the winner. The mozz sticks were perfectly fried and the sauce was very tasty. I ordered the stadium burger with a Greek salad. The salad was a good side and nice and fresh. The burger was delicious - flavorful and the jelly gave it a nice sweet touch. With some aesthetic changes this place could be the bomb. read more

From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming... thanks in large part to Julie, the bartender, who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. She not only recommended some stellar menu options but even gave us a peek at the dishes as they were being served. That personal touch made it feel like we were part of the kitchen magic! I had the stuffed chicken, and it was phenomenal! Perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and clearly made with care by a chef! My boyfriend had a burger that he's still raving about. He set us up with cloth napkin wrapped silverware, S&P and extra paper napkins as soon as we ordered. Menu includes the expected pub food regulars (burgers, sandwiches) and gastropub items (blackened salmon tacos, entrees) A fair number of beers are on tap and they offer a respectable liquor selection. Quite a few whiskeys (ryes? burbons? whatever). The blackened salmon taco has plenty of cheese, a nice spicy kick and a fair amount of salmon under a bed of asian slaw. Messy, but tasty and quite enough for lunch. The steak and cheese sandwich comes with your choice of fries, truffle fries or salad. The hoagie roll is stuffed full of meat and cheese. This is a good stop for a drink, appetizer and/or meal. Booth seating is available behind the bar area which is right inside the entrance. The parking lot is behind the building. They are literally stuffed with seafood not filler. The steak, cheese and mushroom sandwich is quite delicious. The torpedo roll is perfect for this sandwich! What a huge portion. I had to take half home. Everything here is served in a prompt manner and is nice and hot! Our bartender Ali was awesome! She made me feel valued and her service was second to none. A true Diamond!!!! This was some of the best food we have ever had at a restaurant. Every plate we saw come out of the kitchen looked so good. We had burgers and they were supreme. I have not had one bad item from Ted's. Their stuffie is the best in RI. They have amazing steak. Seared perfectly. Chicken broccoli Alfredo is just as good as any restaurant on the Federal Hill. The service is impeccable. Atmosphere is great. Plenty of TV's for sports. Super clean establishment. Waitstaff is attentive and super polite. If you have not tried this place, you need to go asap. Only wish they were open Sundays for stuffies and football. This is not just another pub with pub food. This is a restaurant with a pub attached. We had dinner here last night after driving by many times saying we should try it. The food was good, staff were pleasant. There is a large bar, and since it was just dinner time and a rainy night, there were only a few people, and the tables at the back of the restaurant only had a few parties at tables. This is why we thought it was weird when we were asked if we had a reservation, which we didn't. We were able to sit for dinner. We didn't think the menu was very big- sandwiches, salads, burgers and a couple pasta dishes. This night, they had some specials. We ordered off the regular menu. I had salmon BLT on Ciabatta roll and my husband had a Park Avenue Burger. I had the fries as my side, and for a few extra dollars, my husband had a Caesar side salad. They have a large bar, and a drink specials menu, but we didn't drink anything but water and a soda. The burger was very good. My salmon was good, as was the bread. The bacon were thick slices of apple wood bacon; which I found overpowering for the fish. The tomato ( 2 small slices of Roma tomatoes) and lettuce (spring mix lettuce) were lost on the bread. This place is one of those HIDDEN GEMS!!!! I'm almost afraid of telling too many people, but the owner is so nice and the food is awesome. They deserve to have every accolade. OMG!!! The bar tender (I wish I got his name) immediately said, hello! We were greeted before the door even closed behind us! As you walk in there is a large and clean bar area. As you walk in, it opens up to about 10 tables. We were directed to choose a table in the back. Most of the tables are very large and will easily accommodate larger parties. Extremely clean and comfortable. Cloth napkins, very nice. It is lower lighting but you can see just perfectly due to some white mini lights around the middle of the wall. Very nice, very inviting. I came for the wings. I read a few "best wing spot" articles and this place was on a few of them. So, I'll start there. I ordered the classic bone in wings with classic buffalo sauce. I usually order wings extra crispy but neglected to ask for it because I wanted a true opinion of what they serve. They were FANTASTIC! Crispy on the outside with just the right amount of sauce, and nice and juicy on the inside. Next i ordered the Parmesan truffle fries. Again, absolutely delicious! I ordered the small but next time I'll get the large because I ate every last one. Nice and perfectly crispy on the outside with a great potato taste and just a little bit soft on the inside. I was extremely impressed! From friendliness to cleanliness, from service to food, this was one of the best experiences I've EVER had! The bartender suggested a burger next time because the grind their own meat in house! I can't wait!! I'll be back and frequently. Reasonable in price. Highly recommended you won't regret it! Honestly, I don't typically write reviews. As a bartender I try to keep it neutral and I understand that people have good and bad days and figure people should typically judge an establishment based off of their own experiences. That being said, I'm a local and I was truly blown away by my experience sooo I just couldn't help myself. They've added an outdoor patio area where there was great live music and table service. Our server, I totally forgot her name (sorry! It was Friday 7/23), was friendly and communicative, food was delicious (I recommend the house made stuffie and truffle fries), music was awesome, and last but definitely not least MY OLD FASHIONED (..and if you're a bourbon drinker you understand the struggle..) it was PERFECT!!!
