If you eat here, you need to ask to get sat in Will's section!! He was absolutely phenomenal, especially with our large party of people yesterday. The food was delicious and fresh and the drinks were impeccable. Dessert was a 10/10 - I don't even eat cheesecake but the cookies and cream cheesecake was to-die for. The whole restaurant was so accommodating for my bachelorette party. Thank you Tavern! read more

I have been to Tavern in the Square in Garden City twice this summer and I've had really good experiences both times. My only sadness about Tavern in the square is that they don't have any type of fried cheese. Sometimes if I'm just grabbing late night cocktails I just want some mozzy sticks to nibble on. However, they do have some really nice apps, in the past, I've had the pretzel, the whipped feta dip and burrata and all have been great. For an entree, I always get the same thing - the Bayou Chicken Pasta. I'm not usually a huge fan of cream sauce and pasta, but I love something with a good kick. This pasta has chicken, corn, tomatoes, slices of some type of green pepper that I think gives it a little bit of heat as well as Cajun spices and Parmesan cheese on top. I usually ask for extra sauce and add Tabasco sauce and it has some great flavor. I've been really impressed by the cocktails here lately. I ventured in February and was made a delicious gin and guava cocktail. I don't know if they have guava anymore, but it was so good and I wish I'd gotten the ingredients. On the menu for Summer is this lovely lavender haze cocktail, but I do not like the citrus cold foam because it's a bit too bitter so I always have that taken off and add a little bit of Club soda instead. I also really like the salted caramel martini, and in the past, if I wanted more lavender or didn't think the salted caramel martini tasted enough like caramel, they have always brought over simple syrup or even a little more of the flavored alcohol to give the drink the intended flavor. I really appreciate that type of service and I've never been nickel and dimmed for that either. The service has always been phenomenal, and I overall like the vibe. It's a really big restaurant and so I've never waited very long to be seated. The bathrooms have always been clean, which is a huge one for me. I definitely will keep this in the rotation, especially when they have a lavender gin. read more

We found ourselves in Garden City and stopped by for an informal meal. It was our first time here. The place was noisy but pleasant. We ordered drinks; my wife had a Prosecco split and I had a tall Shiner Bock a Smooth Texan beer on the recommendation of our server. It was new to me and will buy a case soon. For food my partner had the Ahi Tuna bowl- a tasty dish. She took home some of the fixings. Not having had a burger for a while I had the blackened bacon & blue with a side of crispy fries. It was large and good and I finished it. We couldn't have a dessert as we were satiated. Our server Craig was efficient and pleasant, and patient. The check came to a reasonable $74 for the two of us. It was just the right meal for us that day. read more

My friends and I really enjoy tavern in the square! It has good food with a good sized menu, ranging from burgers to dumplings, and more. The staff are always friendly and the food comes out on time! The restaurant is very clean and the kitchen is very allergy freiendly. I could not say enough good things about the food, however, my friends and I have tried a few drinks and they have not been our favorite. If anyone has any drink recommendations from here, please let me know! read more

A great experience at Tavern in the Square. Staff were very friendly and we were seated quickly. Our waiter was so nice and very attentive. We loved the mushroom flatbread pizza. I had the lobster quesadillas which were yummy! My daughter had the tuna bowl which she enjoyed! It was a lively, busy environment but not too loud where we couldn't have conversation. read more

1st time patron .... For an appetizer we had the crispy Brussel sprouts ... 10 out of 10!! I ordered the sweet and spicy Thai chicken salad. It was really good minus the pita chips (if that's what they were). My boyfriend enjoyed the quesadillas, but not so much the wings. The beer on top could have been colder... was ok! I ordered the caramel espresso martini. I took one sip and had to send it back, it was awful. The ambience is nice , the Christmas tree was a nice touch. There are many TVs for the sports enthusiasts and lots of seating. We will definitely be going back. read more

Walked in tonight. Wanted to have drinks and some food and watch the RedSox game. Walked round the bar and asked two bartenders if they could put the Sox game on considering about 10 of their screens had the US Tennis Open on. They said they didn't have control of the remotes. We walked out to go to another restaurant in Garden City. Just shaking my head. read more

Food/Drinks: One of my favorite places to go eat. They have so many items on the menu that I've tried that have been top-tier. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of this item, but the buffalo mac & cheese is probably the best item on their menu, so good that I eat it before I can take a picture of it, which is why I can't insert one in my review lol. Not only that but the cornflake tenders are literally sooo good, and they have so many good different sauces to try them with, and they're all so tasty! I also love their loaded nachos! They recently opened up brunch, and when I tell you the options are pretty amazing, they serve a lot. Truly filling! Location: This location is within a plaza, so they don't offer valet, but they have easy access to parking. This place is super casual and a perfect place to go on a date or with family or even by yourself and sit at the bar, but it's nice and more of a casual feel. Service: The service has always been great! The servers are always helpful and checking in on us, and I have never had any issues with any of my experiences here, and I've come here multiple times. I will continue to come here, as I love their food! read more

It was we three on a sunny afternoon at Tavern in the Square. A huge bar, one of the largest I've ever seen is in the middle of this restaurant with a plethora of surrounding TVs. If you come here, try the garlic fries they're outstanding. If you're not into carbs, try the fried pickles. Everyone's sandwiches were well-made just like the service. read more

I'll never understand the low ratings for this place because every time we go it's phenomenal. From the hostess to the service and of course the food! Went on. Saturday for lunch and ordered the Brunch Bowl from their menu. I can't say enough about the quality and taste of this bowl. Our waitress was stellar. Drink order taken immediately, plate of lemons for our drinks, refills before we even asked. I will choose this place every time there is one where I am. Give it a try for yourself! read more

This has a lot of options and many seats. I'd recommend a reservation if possible but the wait isn't usually too bad if you walk in. There's lots of TVs with sports on and it's quite loud. When they first opened the food was really good, but it's gone downhill some since then. Last time we went the silverware was dirty and the food was just okay. We had to ask a second time for some of our drinks. The chicken sandwich lacked flavor. All of the sauce seemed to be absorbed into the bun and a bit soggy rather than flavorful. We may go here again as an easy dinner with the kids, but it definitely won't be top of list. read more

Recently I had their steak and avocado salad. I've had this dish here for a while now...and a few changes have occurred. They used to give you half of an avocado with the salad, this time, the slices of avocado were tiny. The steak was a bit tough but nicely charred on the outside. The veggies, beans and lettuce were all fresh. My server was very smiley and sweet. One thing that I would like for the restaurant to change is the flow of water in the restroom sinks. The water comes as a tiny weak spray and it takes a long time to get hands properly washed...I am all for environmental choices, but the water flow is just below standard. A bit of an inconvenience. read more

Date night at Tavern in the Square was a nice meal, good service, in a modern industrial atmosphere. It was a bit noisy from the hard surfaces bouncing sounds. The dining area has honeycomb, black and white tile floor, the reclaimed wood slats on the benches and tables and big metal bowl lights all made for vibe cool. The bar is Big & oval bar must seat 20 people, It's a good spot too. Our libations were very tasty, I enjoyed one of the best Aperol spritz ($12) I have tasted and my date had the old-fashioned banana foster $14. We were both very happy with these choices. For a meal we ordered bowls, $25 each. I had the ahi Tuna bowl and she had the salmon bowl. They really cut back on the fish in these bowls... shrink- flation? Added lots of rice and I had to ask for more kimchi and carrots just to see more vegetables, but in general, it was fine. The Salmon bowl on the other hand had so much broccoli that it was overpowering the entire balance of the dish. I'll pick differently next time. The good service and the convenience of the tavern in Garden City will bring me back. read more

Tavern in the Square was an amazing place to eat. As soon as we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and energetic. The restaurant has a modern but cozy style, with lots of seating and a lively vibe that makes it perfect for hanging out with friends or going out with family. It felt comfortable but still exciting at the same time. The food was definitely the highlight. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and you can tell they care about quality. The portions were generous, and the presentation looked just as good as it tasted. There were so many options on the menu, so it would be easy for anyone to find something they like. The service was also great. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick without making us feel rushed. They checked in at the right times and made sure everything was correct. It made the whole experience even better because we felt taken care of. Overall, Tavern in the Square is a restaurant I would absolutely recommend. Between the fun atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service, it was a really enjoyable experience. I would definitely go back again. read more

I have been to Tavern in the Square multiple times and even for their brunch. It's a place where I feel comfortable going by myself and sitting at the bar to have a meal. Last night when I was there, there were other women who also were sitting at the bar having a meal by themselves. The food is good. It's solid. I wish they rotated more items on their menu and played off seasonal flavors. Sometimes I find myself bored with the offerings and I'm looking for bar food that has a little different spin. The staff there are always pleasant and they are working hard to keep everything moving. I never have waited too long for my food, even when it is really busy there. They also have a great rewards program and they do a lot of fun promotions like guessing the winner of the Sunday football game and getting a $10 reward. Overall, Tavern in the Square in Cranston is a great place to grab a bite of bar food and have a drink with friends! I would definitely recommend and keep going back! read more

This is our preferred TitS location. Staff are usually very friendly and professional checking in often, being sure drinks are refilled and everything is going well. The dining area, bar and restrooms are kept clean and there is plenty of parking in the area. The menu changes pretty often which is interesting if you like to try new things and sad if you have a favorite that gets dropped. Still, the food is always fresh and there are usually lots of flavors going on. Presentation is nice too. Lots of TV's around the bar make it a good game day choice. read more

Well me and my daughter ventured in yesterday and the service was beyond horrible. The bartender says to us without menus so what's it gonna be? Lol menus lol. After that and dealing with the swearing man next to us. They didn't check on us then they camped out with the swearing champ. We had our plates pushed forward and drinks empty and five of them and three looking directly our direction didn't check on us. It wasn't great and I'm all set. read more

Came here on a very busy Friday night. The food was excellent. The cups were sticky. The serving trays were peeling apart. This place needs a little love to be a 5 star spot. I really enjoyed Tavern in the Square! I was nervous getting the quinoa bowl to go, and same with the bang bang broccoli, but both were still delicious! The broccoli would have bee crispier for dine-in, but regardless, I liked it, it was crispy still, and while I had asked for sauce on side, it was still great, and the sauce wasn't too overpowering. I got quinoa bowl with Salmon, and I was nervous paying $30 for a salmon bowl, but even after bringing it home, that salmon was cooked PERFECTLY. Salmon wasn't overdone, it was nicely seasoned, not burnt, and really enjoyable on the bowl. For some reason the bowl was greasy at the bottom? Not sure why, maybe the veggies, but either way, it was very filling and hearty! I really liked the whipped feta and the pickled onions to offset the broccoli I ate! Add some kind service, ease of online ordering, and a really great ambiance with plenty of open space, and you've got yourself a great night! Overall, a solid experience, and I will definitely come back! Super gluten free friendly too with PLENTY of options! read more

Server was outstanding, but the food was ok if not subpar. We ordered the southwest chicken salad, which had at Best maybe 4 ounces of steak considering the $25 price tag. The meal definitely did not meet the mark nor was not appropriately priced towards the proportion of food provided. My meal was prepared incorrectly, which can't happen at any restaurant, so when the food was prepared again, but when we ended up receiving the correct meal but it was luke warm at best. Overall the Tavern was subpar for the price and food quality. I would put this on my least likely places to revisit in Cranston or Providence. read more

Steakhouse burger was great!! Well-cooked mushrooms and tasty sauce. The fries were well-cooked, too. So so General Tso's chicken dinner. Very spicy which was fine. But the chicken was quite tough and hard to chew. My husband and I were lucky to have been treated to dinner here recently and we found it to be an enjoyable experience! It was a seasonable evening and having never been here before, I was impressed to see that the corner glassed walls were folded back for some al fresco dining. It was a BUSY Friday night and we were pleased to have been seated at an outer most table to enjoy the lingering warm weather. Despite the chaos around us, our waitress did her best to keep up and checked in whenever she could. The pace of ordering, eating, and paying was remarkably consistent though I could never quite hear our waitress anytime she came over to the table. I ordered the Bayou Chicken Pasta which was a filling, comforting, and tasty meal for early Fall. Our group shared the Nachos starter, which, unfortunately were nothing to write home about. Everyone else's meals looked tasty and included a Black and Bleu Burger, Steak & Avocado Salad, and a Steak and Cheese Crunch Wrap. As someone who has recently had to change their diet, I was happy for the several non-alcoholic beer options available on their menu. Overall, an enjoyable meal, though a bit more expensive than I would have expected for pub-style entrees. In all honesty, I'm not sure that I would seek this restaurant out over others but it's certainly a solid option if the location worked out for all parties in attendance! read more
