Good spot for a happy hour drink and snack or a great place to watch the game with friends! Both the food and drinks are high quality for a sports bar. The ambience: The bar area can be loud and boisterous so you have to be in the mood for that vibe. That being said, it's fun and welcoming with great service. The food and drinks: Their specialty cocktails are strong, taste good and are affordably priced. I had a cherry one (can't remember the name) but it was flavorful and not too sweet. They also have a large selection of beers both on tap and in cans. The shrimp Poboy is absolutely huge and stuffed with well seasoned fried shrimp and the accompanying sweet potato fries were crispy and delicious. We ordered a greek salad to go and it was a generous portion covered with kalamata olives, feta cheese and picked vegetables. My only tip would be to have them put toppings on the side next time to keep the lettuce crispy. Otherwise a very satisfying salad! For a bar it's not overly loud and it's easy to hear people you are talking to. The food is always great here. First timer, always drive by, and it's always packed. Let's talk about the food. I like the sticky chicken wings, sauce is sweet, definitely could've used more though. The Caesar salad was dressed very well, and I really liked the croutons. We love a spot who offers good mocktails, and their blackberry no-jito (cute name) was definitely up to par! There is a parking lot right next to it, and I believe another one in the back. There is also additional street parking, and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Far exceeded expectations! After reading other reviews I wasn't sure what to expect, but am so glad I decided to try them for lunch. I've been before late night for drinks, but never to eat. We started with the fried pickles and garlic parm wings. The waitress was even kind enough to add a side of the bourbon sauce as we were torn on which flavor to order. The pickles were perfectly crispy which is exactly what I look for in a fried pickle. Wings were well cooked and full of flavor. The bourbon sauce was so good we dipped almost everything in it. The banh mi (a special) was the star of the show. The chicken pate combined with the pickled vegetables and cilantro was the perfect combination of flavor, and the roll they served it on was divine. Our waitress was absolutely lovely, and added to our overall wonderful experience. The space had plenty of seating options including a booth (which we opted for). This place is for the most part always packed. The service is pretty fast for the amount of people that were there. We went on a Thursday as it's 1/2 off wings after 4:00 pm they have varies flavors. We ordered the bourbon flavor and my Favorite lemon pepper that never disappoint. The sweet potato fries could have been cooked a bit longer. I had a classic margarita that was amazing, great bartender. The Ambiance was very casual, music was good, hockey playing on multiple screens. I recently went to two corporate events hosted here. Their catering spread is always very yummy. My favorite things- their wings!!! I am NOT usually into wings but I think theirs are really good. Downtown signage caught my attention, drive by and thought it was a bar...popped my head in and was pleasantly surprised to smell Friday night food and drinks! The screens were filled with the Olympics, youth softball, women's softball, and a variety of guests from families, to a rowdy group stopping in for a drink. My son and I had the chicken Parm sliders, curly fries, but the Alfredo penne pasta with blackened shrimp is the most delicious Alfredo sauce I have ever had and that says a lot because we have been all over the world. The night was everything I've come to expect from this incredible spot: familiar faces, some wonderful new ones, and that unmistakable warm, lively atmosphere that makes this place feel like home. It was beautiful. As I sat down to write my (unsurprisingly glowing) review about the experience, I noticed a couple of extremely negative reviews from people named Sandra S. and Tara S. As someone who's been part of this community for over a decade, I was there the same night--and I *witnessed* exactly what happened. These women arrived already visibly intoxicated*, and I noticed several waitresses being cautious and responsible about not over-serving them. Despite that, the women became hostile, rude, and aggressive toward the staff. I personally saw them yelling at multiple team members--waitresses, hostesses, and even an owner--all of whom were just trying to help and de-escalate the situation. It didn't stop there--they were also taking pictures of hardworking staff, seemingly with the intent to shame or harass. This behavior was totally out of line and absolutely not a reflection of the vibe at Brass Monkey. So, if you come across their reviews, please don't let a couple of mean-spirited outliers sway your opinion. THEY DO NOT REPRESENT THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS PLACE OR THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE IT WHAT IT IS. This is a very casual restaurant with a lot of TVs available to watch sports, but there are some areas with more tables that have fewer TVs and are pretty quiet. That is the area we gravitated towards, but unfortunately a few of those tables still had crumbs from the last dinners. We came for Rhode Island Food Fights Burger Month, so we got the regular burger and started with some chicken dumplings. The dumplings were solid. They came with a lot of wet naps in little packages and no silverware. Both my boyfriend and I got our burgers cooked over what we'd asked for, and mine ended up slightly charred. Underrated brunch in Providence! Really enjoyed brunch here, with tons of options, it was delicious and unique. We ordered mimosas, and could choose from tons of juice options such as the classic orange or cranberry, and also guava, passionfruit, grapefruit and pineapple - which I thought was amazing! It was just so bad. An entire hour and $55 wasted at a bar that doesn't even serve the drink it was named after. Honestly the fact that there was no brass monkey on the menu should've been a big enough red flag. The black bean burger was almost fine but the side salad was wilted and soggy. We also got the Mac and cheese paying 10 extra dollars for a 1/4 cup of pulled pork which made it 22$. Service took forever the waitress never once asked us how the food was. THE WORST SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! We wanted to have a great night but instead we had the worst service and time ever! The hostess wanted to sit us at the bar but we chose regular seating but wish we chose the bar! My friends and I were doing a New England roadtrip, and on our first night in Rhode Island decided to eat here for a late dinner. We were a little unsure, in the way you are when you don't know an area and you're all women, but it was totally safe and no one bothered us at all. There was a Celtics game on so it was understandably loud and progressively busy, but our server was incredible! Tonisha AKA Toni, was super sweet, answered all our questions, and stayed on top of refills and requests. She even asked her manager to remove an item from our bill because it took awhile to come out, without our asking and even when we said it was unnecessary! What a hero! Just wanted to shout her out in case her bosses read this. We're two vegetarians and a foodie, so our merry band of tourists can be eclectic in our tastes, but collectively we ordered Lobster Grilled Cheese with chowda (I hope all my fellow Simpsons fans read that in a Mayor Quimby's nephew's accent), 5 cheese tortellini salad, buffalo cheese curds, and Eddi's Mame. All was scrumptious! My foodie friend ordered a few beers too, and she seemed to enjoy them but I don't know nothin' bout no alcohol so I'll leave those reviews to the experts. I went to a bar after work to watch the fight. I asked the bartender for a shot with my beer. The bartender then rolled their hands insinuating a "please" from me before pouring the shot. I informed the bartender that I was a bartender myself. I'm not pleading to you that you give me a shot. So please do not ask a customer to say please at a bar. They are not asking for a favor they are asking for a task that they intended to pay more than the asking price per drink. Do they really need pop R&B songs playing just loud enough so it adds to an already noisy bar but not loud enough to actually clearly hear the music? Who is enjoying that? So if I don't like the song it's preventing me from having a conversation, but if I do like it, I cant actually hear it all that well. My advice: turn off the garbage music. My first time here. Staff was helpful and nice. Good relaxing vibes. They have an outside area, good for smokers who want to just hang out. Not great for families with kids but staff was more than willing to accommodate us anyway. I opted to stay in the AC and not mess with the outdoor vibes, people seem to be enjoying themselves. We ordered a Caesar salad and garlic parmesan wi ga. The wings were delicious and I will be trying the lemon pepper wings next. Salad was meh. We came back for lunch again to try some new things. We shared the Narragansett Beer Battered Cod Bites again, which were as tasty and easy to eat as before- still love the Cajun tartar sauce. We also shared the Pork Pot Stickers $9.00 (Steamed or fried, served with sweet chili and Korean BBQ sauces). We got them steamed and while my friend loved them, I thought they were just OK. The dumpling was too thick for the filling and so didn't have much flavor. I got the Sauteed Shrimp Appetizer $12.00 (Sauteed garlic shrimp tossed in a cherry tomato-sriracha broth, served with toast points) which was good. I wasn't a fan of the the halved cherry tomatoes...they really didn't go with the shrimp to me, but the sriracha sauce was awesome and the fresh bread toast points with garlic butter and grated parm was delicious! My friend got the Turkey Dip Sandwich $10.00 (Oven roasted turkey breast with melted Swiss cheese and caramelized onions on a French roll, served with turkey au jus for dipping with sweet potato fries). She said it was delicious and it looked really good. I tried the sweet potato fries and they were some of the best I have ever had. They were fresh and not too crisp or soggy. I was really impressed! It's likely one of the worst places I have ever been. I thought dive bars were a thing of the past. This place has a stench of old stale beer complete with with a sticky floor! After waiting at the table looking for someone to come by, I navigated to the bar where the bartender was doing shots. He didn't attempt to acknowledge my presence. Figured the locals must get preference because they buy shots. Upon leaving, I noticed that the buildings surroundings were dirty with broken bottles and debris.
