Very good espresso martinis and love the fun touch of the chocolate writing on top! Didn't try anything else, but looked like they had lots of fun drinks on the menu!

I had never been to Layali, and had heard so many good things, so I decided to give it a try. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience! I had the flaming espresso martini, which they write your name on it in chocolate, and it was very good! For food, the hot olives and hummus and pita chips were the perfect appetizers. We also had a special app (fried pork dumplings), which were delicious. For meals, we had the chicken kabob entree and a kefta kabob entree (they kindly allowed me to substitute kefta in instead of chicken), both of which hit the spot. Both entrees came with hummus, pita, and rice pilaf; only qualm was that the pita seemed to be stale. In terms of ambiance, it was not too loud and would be nice for dinner and drinks with a date or a friend. Service was also good, however, I felt like we were checked on a little too heavily (it felt like every 10 minutes); however, our server was very nice and was probably just being kind. Overall, I would definitely go again :)

Layali's menu offers a variety of appetizers, salads, entrees, and even pizzas with unique flavor combinations. Dessert options include classics like Cheesecake and Tiramisu, alongside more unique choices like Baklava. The cocktails are a definite highlight, you have to order the Flaming Espresso Martini which is more than just a drink, it's an experience, arriving in flames with an edible chocolate garnish. The staff is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is vibrant yet at times can be a bit too crowded and loud

Our experience at Layali was pretty disappointing unfortunately. We were able to get a table quickly, which was a plus. Service was also generally good. I was disappointed because I had heard good things about the restaurant, so I'm hoping our experience isn't the norm. The food and drinks were mediocre. The burger was very dry and not cooked well. The patty itself was charred so much that it was completely black on the outside, which made it bitter. I ordered it medium rare and there was maybe a square inch that was medium. The chicken sandwich was good, nothing outstanding. The best part of the meal was the crispy Brussels sprouts! The cocktail I had (a speciality lemon blueberry option) was just okay. It didn't have a lot of flavor other than alcohol and a little sweetness. The space was also SO loud. It was a Saturday night around 8/9, so I expect it to be busy. However, there was loud music playing which also caused everyone to speak loudly. My husband and I couldn't even hear each other from across the table. Not exactly what I want for a dinner atmosphere personally. I don't think we will be back unfortunately.

I came here for my birthday and it was such an excellent choice for a birthday dinner! For one, I have been on a martini kick this summer. I guess I have finally matured to the point of enjoying hand-crafted cocktails. Of course, when I saw the flaming espresso martini, I had to have it. First off, they write your name in chocolate on the top, then float some sort of flammable alcohol in the center on a little boat of a half moon chocolate. Can we say decadent? It was delicious, as was my lobster ravioli, which was rich, and creamy and a large enough portion that I had leftovers. This is a small place, just a one room restaurant with maybe a dozen tables inside. We made a reservation kind of early on a Thursday and had no problem getting in, but I can bet this place is packed on the weekends. We brought my teenage son with us, and not that this is really a family place, but they were able to accommodate his picky eating habits with some plain pasta in butter that he really enjoyed. If it's not already, Layali should definitely be on your list for your next date night or Girls' night out.

First time at Layali, had birthday dinner for a friend. Group of 6, made reservations online; received a call to confirm the day before, which was really nice! It's located downtown and as usual, parking is horrible ! Unless you want to pay 15+ to park at a lot or garage (lots of those near restaurant) you have to drive around and pray to find a spot. The hostess at restaurant was great! She greeted me right away and was understanding that i was waiting for the others in my party. We got sat in the back corner; our waitress was nice but i felt bad for her since half my party was super late (due to traffic/parking) and we didn't want to order until they got there. We decided to order a few things to share; all the food was delicious ! From calamari to ravioli, everyone loved each option. We brought a cake and the restaurant had no issue holding it in the back and bringing it out after we ate. They brought out cake knive and plates; thete wasn't any cake/cutting fee that many restaurants offer. After 9pm they turned the lights down and the vibe felt more like a lounge; it got way busy too. Since open till 1am on Saturday im sure it gets great late night crowds. Definitely a fun spot and i would recommend for groups and for dates.

A wonderful dining experience with Ary as the server and Alec at the bar! My drinks, food and the service were WONDERFUL! A truly extremely satisfied customer! The ambiance is giving speakeasy vibes. This spot is trendy any time of day. I have enjoyed late night bites, and midday meals. Both very good and flavorful. The staff was the best! Very friendly and attentive. Parking is only on the street and you have to walk down stairs to get in.

Loved the intimate feel inside; and both the Mediterranean food and cocktails were delicious! The staff are friendly and we loved the table side flaming cocktail show!

I loved this spot! Stopped here spontaneously while we were in the area and got some yummy drinks food and even a delicious dessert. Our waiter was so lovely he was helpful with answering any questions and very knowledgeable about the menu. We got dumplings to start and then a burger. The sauce the dumplings came with was tasty and so was the burger then for dessert I think we got some sort of apple pie that was unexpected because it was cold when I thought it'd be warm but it was good too! Drinks 10/10 as well.

Great girls night or date night spot! A more mature crowd with great music it does get packed however so arrive early and I would uber. Parking is kind of tough due to how many businesses are in this one area. They have security and bouncers as well , great aesthetic drinks and their service is great when it isn't a busy night for sure however worth the wait! Been here dozens of times.

Flaming espresso martini and passion fruit martinis. Both a big hit

Flaming espresso martinis and passion fruit martinis were a hit! Not a lot of room between tables, lots of people. Almost made me question fire code violations..? Music was loud. But I think that's just the scene and I'm getting old Food is pretty good! Highly recommend the grilled octopus

Great service, friendly staff. I find found the drinks to be a hit or miss. I highly recommend the expresso martini, my other drinks were bland and hard to finish. The presentation is always top notch, I'll give them that.

I ordered a bottle of white wine and the server just set it down on the table with no ice bucket. When I asked for one, she came back with an empty bucket -- no ice, nothing in it. The food was just as bad. The chicken wings tasted like plastic, the baby carrots were served completely burnt, and the tuna tartare had zero seasoning -- literally just cubed fish with nothing on it. On top of that, no one ever checked back to ask if everything was okay -- not the server, not the host, no one. The spot honestly has potential, but the staff seriously lacks professionalism. The only positive was the fire pit. I absolutely do not recommend this place.

The venue itself is spacious and handled a large crowd well. The multiple margarita stations were a great touch and added to the experience, though a few could have used a bit more ice as the day went on. There was a long line for tacos and at one point we had to wait for fresh batches, which slowed things down a bit. I also wish there were more options for those with food allergies or dietary restrictions. That said, we enjoyed connecting with a mix of new vendors and familiar faces, which made it feel like a great local event. The nachos from Casa Azul Taqueria were definitely a highlight. We also loved the photo booth, it was hysterically fun trying to switch props in three seconds. Another standout was making succulents with @sassysucculentsri, such a fun and unique addition to the event. Medici staff were friendly and kept things moving during a very busy event, which I appreciated. The music added to the energy, though it was a little loud at times. One small note, GPS brought me to the wrong entrance, but signage helped once I got close. It was a fun experience overall. A few tweaks would make it even better, but I'd absolutely check out another event here.

Entry is $10, or $35 annual memberships (start September every year). The prices of the cocktails are so reasonable and rare to see in Providence at $10 to $12. The beer offerings vary from cans or draft, with impressive offerings such as Bissell Brothers from Portland, Maine.
