I love this bar so much. It's the perfect environment to be able to catch up with friends and not have to worry about not being able to hear each other. There's lots of seating options aside from the bar and the service is super quick and everyone is very friendly. The bartenders are also incredibly accommodating and make exceptionally amazing drinks.

We had cocktails and cider. The cider was very good. The smoke show cocktail was sour and smoky, but not sweet, which is very good for me. The blue one I forgot the name, very very sweet. I liked the coconut flavor, but it was too sweet so the flavor didn't show much. I enjoyed the music and the environment. If you want a quite spot, you sit on the other side form the bar. The decor was festive and cute. I loved the sparkle Christmas tree.

I went in on a Friday night and was able to get two seats the bar. It was fairly busy and there were plenty of staff on shift. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. The lights were just right for a date night, but I would say it wasn't a romantic type of ambiance with the music and the televisions going. Overall, still a great spot to go get a drink after dinner. The bar has an upbeat vibe and they did a great job with the recent renovations. We got two different drinks and although they were drinkable, I wasn't really impressed, especially for the price. The bill came to $36 for our two drinks and we left craving another drink from somewhere else. Maybe we got the wrong bartender? I've heard so many good things, but I'll have to stick to my favorite craft cocktail spots next time.

This is a fun little bar right on the edge of the action on North Main Street. The bar staff is wicked talented. The night we visited, the bartender made a perfect espresso martini for me with decaf espresso. Decaf espresso! Game changer. I wouldn't have survived if it was a fully caffeinated espresso martini. I moved onto a hot & dirty martini which was also perfectly executed - shaken to filth & all. The vibe is a little contradictory - Hip, modern cocktail bar meets sports bar, I think? The prices & product indicate classy, but the lights are a little bright inside & there are TVs on the walls. I'm not a big fan of TVs in intimate bars, but I suppose if you're ISO a more upscale place to watch a game, this could be your place. Maybe I'm misinterpreting it. Still a sweet spot. Push the button in the bathroom!

I stopped by the XO bar for the first time on a Tuesday evening for drinks. The bartender was very friendly, though because there was only one staff member for the whole bar, there were some times when no one was staffing the bar because she had to do something in the back. Thankfully there weren't too many people on a Tuesday night, so I didn't have to wait super long for my order to be taken. The ambiance was very newly appointed with comfortable seating and interesting lighting. I ordered the Midori Yuzu Sour and also the Bourbon Peach Smash. While I liked both drinks (the Midori was my favorite because I love yuzu, and it also wasn't too sweet. The peach was very strong on the bourbon, but still nice), they are on the steeper side for drinks when I'm not sure that I would say they were outstanding or extremely interesting flavor profiles. Great new drinks spot to check out, but I might gravitate a little more to some of the other cocktail bars in the area!

Finally dropped by this neighborhood gem on Sunday. My only regret is not coming sooner! Excellent drinks, friendly and welcoming staff and lovely atmosphere. I've been looking for a place to eventually become a "regular" and think this could be the spot!

We ordered drinks before the meal. I had a Vermont Red Ale for the first time which was very good and worth remembering. At this time they were serving'cocktails for a cause' in support of the Alzheimer's Association, which my other half decided to have. The drink, Fuchsia Butterflies ($15), was made solarium gin, house-made lemoncello, with a Gran Classico & Violet Rinse. It was quite excellent. I had a sip to try (I am usually not one for cocktails) and enjoyed the taste. Perhaps I will try cocktails in the future. For food we shared curry moules frites, well done, just how I like them, and salt and vinegar Wings - tasty but too salty which detracted from the dish. We ended with a good chocolate mint creme brûlée. The check came to $80 to which we added a decent tip for our friendly server, Triston. We have always enjoyed the vibe and cozy environment of this place and are sure to return.

The tacos were outstanding--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared with high-quality ingredients. The frijoles dip was rich, creamy, and incredibly addictive, making it the perfect way to start the meal. To top it all off, the mezcal shots were smooth, unique, and a great complement to the meal, adding an authentic touch to the overall experience. Beyond the incredible food and drinks, the atmosphere, service and specially the people made the evening even more enjoyable. At their front patio, they had the World Cup game playing, but the back patio felt cozier so we opted for that. The inside though was a strong second since the lighting is very low, creating a cool and calm environment. Walking through the restaurant to get to our table made me realize that each table is unique, no two are decorated the same or have the same furniture. It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.

The bartender told us the drinks were covered by the host, which is when we realized it was a private party in the entire space. We told them we weren't part of the party and paid for drinks, but apparently we never should've been let in. No one stopped us at the front door. No sign. No post on their website saying they were closed for a private event. No post on their Instagram. Feels like whatever system they were trying to implement to enforce a private party totally broke down. The employees were very nice about it at the very least. We got two drinks: the Isuzu and the grape cobbler. The grape cobbler was okay - sweet but not much else going on. The Isuzu was SO bitter and I didn't like it. The description on the menu didn't match the drink at all. I wanted to like it here, and I've heard great things. However, it was such a bad experience and we didn't like the drinks, so I'm not sure we will be back.

I was lucky to have tried North when it was open so when I saw the former chefs were preparing the meal for Chef Night, I knew I had to sign up and was so glad I did. The meal was stupendous! The first course was shrimp and corn fritters. The fritters were filled with shrimp and corn and you can visually see the shrimp and corn. It wasn't overly doughy and the sauce was delicious! Chef Andrew described the dish and he told us that the shrimp was locally sourced from Dune Brothers. The second course was noodles with tomato and pepper dashi and grilled fish. The noodles were fresh, but it started to get a little clumpy. The dashi was really flavorful. The third course was miso tres leches cake with sakura whipped cream. This course I was the most excited about and it totally blew my expectations. Chef Andrew told us that they hand picked sakura petals and made their own whipped cream. The tres leches cake was moist, dense, and airy. The dessert was definitely the star of the show. Bravo to chefs Andrew McQuesten and Stephen Sternkopf for a wonderful locally sourced meal. Jean-Marc and the other bartender were also very friendly and accommodating. They checked on all the customers throughout the night and made yummy drinks. I had the Toasted Venture. This is one of the signature cocktails and has Toasted Pumpkin Seed-Infused Misguided Spirits Red Sky Silver Rum/Cynar/St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur/Rosemary Elixir/Mole Bitters. It was very good. Every bite had great balance and you can tell they really care about the ingredients. One thing that really stood out to me was the seating. The Frida booths in the corner are the most comfortable restaurant seats I've ever sat in in my life. I could have stayed there all night. The atmosphere overall is fantastic. The lighting is mellow, the music is at the perfect level where you can actually talk without shouting, and the bartender was well-stocked and clearly knows what they're doing. Another bonus is the view. Looking out across the street at the park lit up at night is gorgeous and really adds to the vibe of the place. The only downside is parking, which can be a little tricky depending on when you go. But honestly, once you're inside and the food hits the table, it's totally worth it. Our appetizers were gone by the time the drinks arrived. Our server gave us the "the bar is backed up" excuse, which didn't make sense given that one drink was a bottled soda, one fountain soda, a mocktail and a cocktail. Furthermore, several tables were seated around us, placed their drink orders, and had their drinks before our appetizers reached our table (both inside tables as well as those on the patio). I'm hoping the service issue was a lack of training, as it was not an incredibly busy day (surprising given pride was happening ‍). It was also mid afternoon so unaffected by any kind of rush.
