I've been getting the espresso martini by default here cause they are quite good...but my drink of choice is usually a citrusy gimlet of sorts. I mentioned this to Bianca when I was ordering and she essentially said "say less"... made me the perfect drink. I was so pleased... it can get quite busy but if you know the general profile of what you're into- Bianca will get the vision and make you the perfect cocktail. Beautiful beautiful space in a historic building right at the edge of the "downtown" part of North Main Street. There are many cozy seating options (at the gorgeous bar, a banquet in the main space, seating area against the wall away from but in view of the bar, and a separate back room). The night we were there it was busy but not packed with people so we could tell the acoustics were good for older folks (like us). It may have been an off night or a new bartender, but - regrettably - there were a few glitches getting our drinks: the extra dirty martini came to us actually cloudy from the amount of olive juice (but my daughter decided not to return it), and the bartender said out loud that he didn't know what a vesper martini was but he'd look it up to try to make one (ouch). Prices seem a touch high for the RI market; four cocktails cost the same as they would have in LA (per that daughter). Still, the vibe is great, and it was a classy stop for us before dinner. I love this bar so much. It's the perfect environment to be able to catch up with friends and not have to worry about not being able to hear each other. There's lots of seating options aside from the bar and the service is super quick and everyone is very friendly. We had cocktails and cider. The cider was very good. The smoke show cocktail was sour and smoky, but not sweet, which is very good for me. The blue one I forgot the name, very very sweet. I liked the coconut flavor, but it was too sweet so the flavor didn't show much. I enjoyed the music and the environment. If you want a quite spot, you sit on the other side form the bar. I went in on a Friday night and was able to get two seats the bar. It was fairly busy and there were plenty of staff on shift. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. The lights were just right for a date night, but I would say it wasn't a romantic type of ambiance with the music and the televisions going. Overall, still a great spot to go get a drink after dinner. The bar has an upbeat vibe and they did a great job with the recent renovations. We got two different drinks and although they were drinkable, I wasn't really impressed, especially for the price. The bill came to $36 for our two drinks and we left craving another drink from somewhere else. Maybe we got the wrong bartender? I've heard so many good things, but I'll have to stick to my favorite craft cocktail spots next time. read more

This is a fun little bar right on the edge of the action on North Main Street. The bar staff is wicked talented. The night we visited, the bartender made a perfect espresso martini for me with decaf espresso. Decaf espresso! Game changer. I wouldn't have survived if it was a fully caffeinated espresso martini. I moved onto a hot & dirty martini which was also perfectly executed - shaken to filth & all. The vibe is a little contradictory - Hip, modern cocktail bar meets sports bar, I think? The prices & product indicate classy, but the lights are a little bright inside & there are TVs on the walls. I'm not a big fan of TVs in intimate bars, but I suppose if you're ISO a more upscale place to watch a game, this could be your place. Maybe I'm misinterpreting it. Still a sweet spot. Stopped in for Tuesday night, which is half off wine night. The sauv blanc bottle we got for $40 (normal price 80, which is truly telling in terms of the markup) was fine. The drink options overall were fairly diverse. The best part, though, is the hip ambiance with tons of different seating options depending on your party. Another big plus was the bartender- super pleasant. Make sure to push the button in the bathroom that says "push". read more

Overall, I love this bar. That being said, the music has gone down hill fast. They used to play actual music every night and it was a different playlist that kept things interesting. I stopped by the XO bar for the first time on a Tuesday evening for drinks. The bartender was very friendly, though because there was only one staff member for the whole bar, there were some times when no one was staffing the bar because she had to do something in the back. Thankfully there weren't too many people on a Tuesday night, so I didn't have to wait super long for my order to be taken. The ambiance was very newly appointed with comfortable seating and interesting lighting. I ordered the Midori Yuzu Sour and also the Bourbon Peach Smash. While I liked both drinks (the Midori was my favorite because I love yuzu, and it also wasn't too sweet. The peach was very strong on the bourbon, but still nice), they are on the steeper side for drinks when I'm not sure that I would say they were outstanding or extremely interesting flavor profiles. Great new drinks spot to check out, but I might gravitate a little more to some of the other cocktail bars in the area! read more

My wife and I were out in Providence for our anniversary. I saw this Bar/Lounge online and it looked pretty good. I was wrong.....it was amazing!!!!!! The bartenders were fantastic. I'm a non-drinker, but I love a good bar. My wife had an espresso martini and she raved about it. We met another couple a little younger than us (we are in our early 50's) and it was their first time there also. The 4 of us had a great time talking at the bar. The vibe was great. Young and older people enjoying a great Friday night. Such a great find. We will be back 1000%!!!! I wish we could remember the 2 bartenders names (this was Friday night 9/27). OK! I've been here now 2-3 times since the reopening and I can say everytime I am left confused. Firstly, the place is BEAUTIFUL! I love the chairs, the bar set up and even the bathroom LOL! But I can say the staff can be tough in my opinion taking away from such a beautiful atmosphere!? I've waited nearly 20 minutes for 2 drinks as the bartender was just talking and talking to those at the bar completely forgetting she had orders. Then when my drink came it was SCREWED. After asking for a lemon drop martini with a sugar rim, I've received their version of a lemon drop with a SALT RIM!? Who salts lemon drops?! I would've then asked for it to be remade but at this point I've waited long enough! I guess that's what I get for ordering off menu... Nonetheless, I cant take away from the atmosphere and I will try again at some point down the line! read more

Came in for a late night drink Monday. Looked this place up online, seemed really nice and had great reviews, not many bars are open Monday so we thought we'd give it a try. Place is beautiful but service was AWFUL. Entered the place we were not greeted nor acknowledged. Still tried to give a chance. Bartender finished speaking with regulars came back and still no acknowledgment. We sat on the couches as there wasn't any space at the bar, bartender threw menus on the bar and said come up when you're ready. This made us feel so uncomfortable and not welcomed at all. Glanced at the menu and then just decided to leave. Service definitely takes away from the ambiance of the bar. So badly wanted to try here but do not think I would consider ever going back. read more
