I'm so excited to be the first person to review this place, especially since I don't even live on the same coast this restaurant is on. Some disclosures, I am a restaurant owner and chef. I tend to have a pretty high expectations for service and quality of food and am almost always let down (this is based off my dining experiences in Los Angeles ). When my friend had said this was going to be my first meal after I arrive to Jamestown I was both excited and skeptical. Well, all that negativity dissipated into euphoria translating into what I would call my best dining experience of 2024 thus far. The food five star, the service (top to bottom) was immaculate 100000 f'ing stars. I wish I remembered every persons name but they give you an army to take care of you. One individual that stuck out was Harrison. This guy was all time and just made the night even more special. Thank you, to the entire team at Aurelia, for making it such an amazing night. Honestly thinking of just flying out to Newport whenever I want a fine dining experience because I am for sure not finding this over here in LA. Can't wait to watch that gorgeous sunset from that impeccably placed dining room again !!!

Came here for my birthday dinner while visiting friends in Newport. They booked it and it was such a treat! Probably one of the best meals I've had... like ever! Everything was seasoned and cooked so well. Had it with the wine pairing and it was just an overall amazing experience and that staff was impeccable and attentive too!

My boyfriend (now fiancé) took me here for a fancy Valentine's Day dinner. It is by far my favorite restaurant in Newport, second to none. It is right inside Castle Hill on the cliff walk and besides the spectacular view, the service was emmaculate and food was scrumptious! My partner spared no expense and added on the wine pairing as well as the cheese platter (highly recommend). Did you know that Aurelia is the scientific name for moon jellyfish? The seafood is as fresh as possible including local RI oysters and lobster and I loved the sustainability of the scallop crudo presented in the shell. If you only go to one restaurant in Newport, make it this one!

If I could give it 6 stars, I would. The food was amazing. The service was so attentive, professional and knowledgeable. You cannot beat the views from the dining room. One of the best meals I have ever had.

Service was wonderful. Gabrielle was very knowledgeable about each dish and super attentive. Restaurant has a cool setup where a lot of the tables are right by the window and you can watch the sunset. Food was great and we were definitely full by the end. The risotto and strawberry shortcake were probably our favorite courses. And the cheese plate was amazing!

WOW! 5 stars doesn't even seem like enough. I had great expectations but the overall experience was even better than I had imagined. From the minute we arrived we were greeted by the wonderful hostess and had a beautiful table overlooking the ocean. The champagne selection upon arrival was delicious and the over 7000 bottles of wine to choose from was incredible. Our Somm helped us pick a delicious Barolo and the Grassl glasses are my absolute favorite. Every item on the menu was unique to the location and each dish was prepared with a wow factor. The service really blew us away, everyone was so friendly and gave us amazing detail on all the menu items, drinks, and overall just great chit chat. 10/10 must try in Newport.

The courses were unimaginative and bland. Way too expensive for average food. Service and ambiance very good.

Very fresh and honestly, very affordable for the aesthetic, quality, and taste. Plus the service is great. I've had their pastas, entrees, apps, pizza, and drinks and there is nothing you can go wrong with. My personal favorites is their kale salad, chianti marsala braised beef and mushroom tagliatelle. Again, the quality is great and everything is seasoned/ flavored well. Plus their pastas are homemade! They also give free bread, who doesn't love that? I cannot recommend this place enough. Perfect for a date night or night out with friends.

We loved the olives and the roasted beets! The whipped Gorgonzola was a perfect match for the beets, not overpowering at all. After much thought over the menu, I decided to go with the short rib. The short rib was not fatty and it was super tender. I was able to pull it apart easily with my fork. The mashed potatoes were great and complimented the dish with the short rib sauce. I wasn't a fan of the tequila drink that I ordered, but my glass of wine paired very well with the short rib.

It is not heavily seasoned and it was tender and flavorful. The juices surrounded the steak, really that's all it needed. I did order a side of Demi, but hardly used it. We sat at the upstairs bar and had the best service and even got to watch the Red Sox game. 22 Bowen's Wharf has a crazy selection of steaks, I'm sure I didn't pick their best, but it was exactly what I was looking for. We started with the local farm stand salad with fresh burrata cheese and locally gown tomatoes. It was amazing...nothing like fresh summer grown tomatoes and basil from Rhode island. The bartender sold me on the key lime pie as they make the key lime pie with key limes outsourced from the Florida keys. Always a great meal at 22 Bowen's.

When making our reservation, we noticed there was an option to mark that we were celebrating an anniversary, and I have to say, they truly acknowledged it in such a thoughtful way. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly hostess who immediately wished us a happy anniversary. We were then escorted upstairs to our table, where we were treated to a beautiful view overlooking the harbor. The restaurant itself is elegant without feeling stuffy, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion. Our server, Cailin, greeted us promptly, wished us a happy anniversary, and offered us a complimentary champagne toast. While neither of us are big champagne drinkers, it was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made the evening feel even more special. It's little touches like that that turn a nice dinner into a memorable celebration. Moreover, it was just nice to hear the champagne flutes clink. (Plus the champagne was great!) To drink, we both ordered the dragon fruit margaritas. They were not only delicious but absolutely beautiful, with their vibrant pink color and striking black salt rim. To start, we shared the Caesar salad (without anchovies) and the stuffed artichoke. The Caesar dressing tasted homemade and was packed with flavor. The stuffed artichoke was easily the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked and served with a divine green goddess sauce that I could have eaten by the spoonful. My husband also ordered the clam chowder, which he absolutely loved. I don't eat seafood, but I tried a spoonful of the broth and even I thought it was excellent. For our entrées, my husband ordered the pork, and I chose the New York strip steak. Both were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I paired my steak with both the horseradish crema and Bowen's steak sauce, while my husband enjoyed the chimichurri with his pork. Every sauce complemented the dishes beautifully. For sides, we ordered the seasonal vegetables, which were perfectly cooked green beans, the four-cheese potatoes au gratin with crumbled bacon, and the truffle mac and cheese. The potatoes were rich and comforting, the green beans provided the perfect balance, and the truffle mac and cheese was absolutely incredible, not to mention a very generous portion. Before our entrées arrived, our table was presented with beautiful steak knives, another thoughtful detail that elevated the experience and made cutting into the steak effortless. By the end of dinner we were completely full, so instead of dessert we each ordered an espresso martini. They were perfectly balanced and the ideal way to end such an incredible meal. From the stunning harbor views and elegant atmosphere to the impeccable service and outstanding food, every part of our evening felt special. We left feeling celebrated, and we're so happy we chose 22 Bowen's for our first wedding anniversary. If you're looking for a restaurant in Newport to celebrate a milestone or simply enjoy an exceptional meal, this is one I wholeheartedly recommend.

We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. We're already planning our next visit--there are still so many dishes and drinks we'd love to try.

Our waiter was kind, attentive, and very patient with us as we managed two hangry kids. One employee who was on break even helped me find a quiet spot to take a work call which I really appreciated. The kids' meal came out almost immediately. My son got the cheeseburger, and I was surprised by how big it was. It was adult sized, and he enjoyed and finished all of it. The mussels were the standout of the meal and the best I've personally had. They were incredibly fresh with no fishy smell and the broth was so flavorful. The bread that came with it was perfect for soaking up every last bit of the broth. The salmon was very fresh and cooked well. The shrimp scampi was also really good. The clam chowder was an 8 out of 10 for me. Not the best I've ever had but definitely one of the better ones. Pricing was mid range and felt fair for the quality of the food and the portions. Overall, we were really happy with the meal. Great service, fresh seafood, generous kids' portions, and a fun atmosphere. I'd definitely come back, especially for the mussels.

Nestled in the Wharf, it was a cute little place with both an up and downstairs. We reserved a spot for around 5:30 (in April) and it was pretty open. There weren't too customers yet, and it was nice and quiet. If you're looking for a ton of space for the seating area, I will say that there isn't too much room/it's pretty nice and cozy! At Wharf Southern Kitchen and Whiskey Bar, they've got a line of booths along the wall, a bar area right in the center and at the actual bar, a high top, another bar at one of the entrances, and a table that seats six. Now let's chat about the service. Our waitress was wonderful, patient, and was extremely helpful when asked questions and also gave SUCH wonderful suggestions. There were MANY fantastic choices on their menu and I was having a pretty difficult time narrowing down which one I really wanted, but with our waitress's help, I was able to choose pretty quickly (and they were AMAZING choices!) Now the food! The wait for the food honestly wasn't that long, and when we got it, we ABSOLUTELY CHOWED... -The Crispy Chicken Bites were AMAZING! I ended up upgrading to the Buffalo Style, and it DID NOT disappoint at all! The Bleu Cheese crumbles were just the perfect amount, and the Buffalo sauce was JUST enough to still enjoy the crispiness of the chicken. I DID ask for ranch on the side, and that just was *chef's kiss*! -I've never had fried pickles before, but I certainly have never seen a restaurant do it with whole pickles. Though it was my first time trying fried pickles, it tasted great! I wouldn't say it's anything special, but it's a great, and lighter on the fried side, appetizer! -I was having a hard time choosing what entree to enjoy, but I'M SOOOO glad that I went with the Smoked Brisket Chopped Cheese! I'm not a big brisket girl, but I will say that this was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! At first when it came out on the bun, I was a little skeptical of how it would taste, but it definitely didn't disappoint! The brisket was cooked SO well with the perfect amount of seasoning, and it all just melted so perfectly together as I was eating it. And the tater tots were SO AMAZING (though on the saltier side) and SO perfectly crispy. I've only got great things to say about Wharf Southern Kitchen & Whiskey Bar & I WILL be back here/will suggest it to my friends visiting Newport one day!

My review is mainly for the pricing. I tried their Caesar Salad as an entree with the shrimp added - the shrimp upcharge was $12 and there was only 4 shrimp in my meal. I didn't see any particular difference between their "jumbo poached shrimp" and regular shrimp I've seen in a typical meal where you upcharge for shrimp. The salad was good otherwise and the service was fast and polite.
