Had a great time with our impromptu Mother's Day Brunch at Malt. There weren't many people there, but the food was good and the service was great.

Always solid. Good service. Large menu and especially so on drinks. Give them a try.

Came in on a Monday night and waited at the bar in the front window for fellow diners. The bartender, Teddy, took care of my immediate needs with a Naragassat Lager and an order of Malt Fries. The garlic aioli was really an unexpected pairing- in a good way. Other locals joined me at the bar, and it was respectful and a nice neighborly feel to start the evening. We moved out to the patio, and the waitress took care of every need we had. The street noise was a little loud, but the nearby band was pretty good to listen to! We started with drinks and fresh fried calamari. Good start and my three compatriots started to realize what a nice place this was to eat. We then ordered drinks, including Old Fashioned and a Vodka Gimlet. Both were done perfectly. And I can confirm that the Pan Roasted Cod Risotto was a fantastic choice (thanks to previous Yelp diners for the tip!) My only complaint was that the potato chips that they had with the Risotto were bland (unsalted?) and tasted a little stale. Other diners with us were happy with their fish & chips, and croquettes. We ended with desserts including cheesecake, Tiramisu, and Bailey's on the rocks. No one left hungry. And we were all satisfied. Bar & Teddy - A+ Waitress - A+ Very Accommodating! Food, on pointe! "A" Atmosphere - A Look forward to returning on my next visit!

My man and I had a friend come with us for dinner. Brian was our server and he was FANTASTIC! He seemed to know exactly when we needed more drinks, when to clear our plates and was patient with us as we chatted way beyond our meals. The food was perfect all the way! Fish cooked perfectly, chicken sandwich was so damn good! And our friends chicken and vegetables were perfect! This place is adorably cozy- we ate outside was enjoyed the scenery. The drinks great and the bathroom was super clean! Can't wait to come back! Five stars for Brian!!

This is a cute little place on Broadway with their unique salt/pepper shakers at each table. At this particular visit, we sat at the table with the Rhode Island shakers. I think last time they were little flamingos. It was a bit chilly out, so I decided to get something warm to drink. I ordered the hot toddy which was just what I needed. It was so comforting and delicious. My partner got the spicy coyote - very tasty. We just order apps during this particular visit. I got the Thai shrimp nachos, which was good. I did enjoy the crispy wonton chips.

What a great place! We got to sit in the front window table. Our waitress was super nice! We had to start with the shrimp nachos which were FABULOUS! We also shared the beet and pair salad, yum! The clam chowder was different but delicious with hints of rosemary that kicked the soup up a notch. My friends shared the steak sandwich and the ahi sandwich and said they loved both. I had the streak frites with truffle fires which was OMG good! And my DH got the cod and risotto he loved too. On to the desserts.. we got them all and I would recommend them ALL!!

Went to the Malt last night. We started off with an espresso martini and a spicey mango margarita. Both drinks were well balanced and flavorful. For an app, we had loaded potato croquettes. I absolutely loved them! They weren't a heavy app despite being potatoes which was nice. For a meal, I had the thia shrimp nachos. They are an app but with them having four large shrimp, it made a great light meal. My husband had the southern fried chicken sandwich with bacon jam. He thoroughly enjoyed it and normally he is picky and doesn't like unique ingredients to his food. The server was amazing! We had our baby with us and the server was so sweet and made our little guy laugh and smile every time he came by the table.

Got the potato croquettes that were supposed to be bacon and cheese...they came with barely chopped rosemary. Hard to eat. Other items were ok but underseasoned. Despite that, wine was good and server was attentive.

While driving down Broadway, we spied Malt, with their outdoor seating and exterior lighting and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We got the Malt Burger and the Fish and Chips. The burger was amazing. Quality stuff and cooked perfectly. The fish and chips were 2 decent sized pieces of fish, nicely cooked and the batter was excellent. The potato wedges were great as well. Coleslaw had a lemon taste to it. It was refreshing, but not what I am used to.

This resturant is so delicious . We had the roasted corn chicken tomato Special Soup of the day . So good. The cod risotto was so yummy and for dessert the Malt Bomb is a must eat ! The service was amazing . We would definitely dine here again for sure!

They said we could still eat there, but we'd lose our ability to dine outdoors. We weren't about to lose out on everything, so we agreed to the terms. Normally, I would've been upset, but I figured something was better than nothing, and this was our only shot at getting something. We were both really glad we went there because dining indoors was lovely, and we still had a great view of the bay. The food was delicious, we walked around outside after our meal, so we didn't feel like we lost out on any aspect of our lunch. It was just rearranged. We both ordered lobster rolls, which came with French fries. The lobster roll was incredibly overstuffed with lots of beautiful lobster meat. It was impressive to see and even better to bite into. The lobster was sweet and succulent and loads of it, surrounded by a buttery brioche bun. Fabulous !! It was a wonderful first meal of our vacation, so we were off to a great start. We decided to split dessert and ordered their lemon meringue tart. It was so pretty, and it tasted even better. It was a beautiful day when we went there... not too hot nor humid. This place is known for a whole slew of adirondack chairs laid out on the inn's "hill." It was quite crowded when we were there. Very popular spot. I'm so glad we opted to have our lunch indoors at this famous inn at Castle Hill. We loved it.

The waterfront views are stunning, the service was exceptional, and the entire experience lived up to the buzz. Autumn was my waitress and she was wonderful. It's rare to find a restaurant that's as beautiful as the photos, worth the price, and actually exceeds expectations--but this one does. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the lobster was massive and tender, and the clam chowder was easily one of the best I've ever had. If the weather is nice, definitely request a table outside. The views alone are worth it. I'd absolutely come back.

From the moment you walk in, the place is spotless. The windows practically sparkle, the bathrooms are arguably the cleanest in Newport (a detail that never goes unnoticed), and the décor? Absolutely stunning. The craftsmanship alone, especially the woodwork is worth admiring before you even glance at the menu. Speaking of which, the food is consistently excellent, but what truly sets Jo's apart is the service. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, yet incredibly attentive. It feels less like dining out and more like being welcomed into someone's home, if that someone also happens to serve fantastic meals. The staff are genuinely warm, friendly, and engaging. Delicious and served with amazing homemade potato chips. Service was good and dress code was more relaxed than I had imagined, so that was nice as well. Bread pudding and Tavern Candy Bar are delightful dessert options as well.

When making our reservation, we noticed there was an option to mark that we were celebrating an anniversary, and I have to say, they truly acknowledged it in such a thoughtful way. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly hostess who immediately wished us a happy anniversary. We were then escorted upstairs to our table, where we were treated to a beautiful view overlooking the harbor. The restaurant itself is elegant without feeling stuffy, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion. Our server, Cailin, greeted us promptly, wished us a happy anniversary, and offered us a complimentary champagne toast. While neither of us are big champagne drinkers, it was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made the evening feel even more special. It's little touches like that that turn a nice dinner into a memorable celebration. Moreover, it was just nice to hear the champagne flutes clink. (Plus the champagne was great!) To drink, we both ordered the dragon fruit margaritas. They were not only delicious but absolutely beautiful, with their vibrant pink color and striking black salt rim. To start, we shared the Caesar salad (without anchovies) and the stuffed artichoke. The Caesar dressing tasted homemade and was packed with flavor. The stuffed artichoke was easily the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked and served with a divine green goddess sauce that I could have eaten by the spoonful. My husband also ordered the clam chowder, which he absolutely loved. I don't eat seafood, but I tried a spoonful of the broth and even I thought it was excellent. For our entrées, my husband ordered the pork, and I chose the New York strip steak. Both were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I paired my steak with both the horseradish crema and Bowen's steak sauce, while my husband enjoyed the chimichurri with his pork. Every sauce complemented the dishes beautifully. For sides, we ordered the seasonal vegetables, which were perfectly cooked green beans, the four-cheese potatoes au gratin with crumbled bacon, and the truffle mac and cheese. The potatoes were rich and comforting, the green beans provided the perfect balance, and the truffle mac and cheese was absolutely incredible, not to mention a very generous portion. Before our entrées arrived, our table was presented with beautiful steak knives, another thoughtful detail that elevated the experience and made cutting into the steak effortless. By the end of dinner we were completely full, so instead of dessert we each ordered an espresso martini. They were perfectly balanced and the ideal way to end such an incredible meal. From the stunning harbor views and elegant atmosphere to the impeccable service and outstanding food, every part of our evening felt special. We left feeling celebrated, and we're so happy we chose 22 Bowen's for our first wedding anniversary. If you're looking for a restaurant in Newport to celebrate a milestone or simply enjoy an exceptional meal, this is one I wholeheartedly recommend.

We got to dine outdoors but in a covered setting. The menu had my favorite foods, all food was impeccable, and I was there celebrating my 20th anniversary with my husband. Our trip was all about our anniversary, and we celebrated every day and night doing our favorite things... sightseeing, relaxing and eating fabulous food. It started with some great bread service. We then ordered two appetizers... stuffed artichokes and crispy calamari. The grilled artichokes were stuffed with spinach and pecorino romano cheese and drenched in a green goddess sauce. It was very tasty. The calamari came with 3 different peppers tossed throughout. The calamari had a thicker batter than we typically get, but it still tasted quite good, maybe with a zip of spiciness added, too. I think we just prefer a lighter, more tempura-like batter, but we still kept eating it. As for our entree, we actually split one order of the rack of lamb. Each rack was 8 oz., maybe more. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and we had more than enough meat for each of us to eat. We ordered a Bearnaise sauce to go with it. Ironically, as much as I love a good Bearnaise, I ended up eating the lamb without it because it was prepared so well on its own. We also ordered a trio of sides... their mashed potatoes, which were so creamy and buttery (my mouth is watering now just thinking about them), as well as mushrooms and asparagus, both of which were so well seasoned. This was a meal fit for a king and queen, to be sure... and certainly, for an anniversary celebration. Last but not least, no celebratory meal can end without dessert, so we ordered their chocolate mousse cake. It looked gorgeous as we saw other tables ordering it, so that was enough for us to want it. It definitely was as incredible as it looked. A perfect ending to a magnificent meal. Such a great way to close out the last evening in Newport and first stop on our 12-day anniversary road trip. I so wish we lived closer, and if I have anything to say about it, someday we'll return, but in the meantime, thanks for the great memories.
