Had a great time with our impromptu Mother's Day Brunch at Malt. There weren't many people there, but the food was good and the service was great.

Came in on a Monday night and waited at the bar in the front window for fellow diners. The bartender, Teddy, took care of my immediate needs with a Naragassat Lager and an order of Malt Fries. The garlic aioli was really an unexpected pairing- in a good way. Other locals joined me at the bar, and it was respectful and a nice neighborly feel to start the evening. We moved out to the patio, and the waitress took care of every need we had. The street noise was a little loud, but the nearby band was pretty good to listen to! We started with drinks and fresh fried calamari. Good start and my three compatriots started to realize what a nice place this was to eat. We then ordered drinks, including Old Fashioned and a Vodka Gimlet. Both were done perfectly. And I can confirm that the Pan Roasted Cod Risotto was a fantastic choice (thanks to previous Yelp diners for the tip!) My only complaint was that the potato chips that they had with the Risotto were bland (unsalted?) and tasted a little stale. Other diners with us were happy with their fish & chips, and croquettes. We ended with desserts including cheesecake, Tiramisu, and Bailey's on the rocks. No one left hungry. And we were all satisfied. Bar & Teddy - A+ Waitress - A+ Very Accommodating! Food, on pointe! "A" Atmosphere - A Look forward to returning on my next visit!

My man and I had a friend come with us for dinner. Brian was our server and he was FANTASTIC! He seemed to know exactly when we needed more drinks, when to clear our plates and was patient with us as we chatted way beyond our meals. The food was perfect all the way! Fish cooked perfectly, chicken sandwich was so damn good! And our friends chicken and vegetables were perfect! This place is adorably cozy- we ate outside was enjoyed the scenery. The drinks great and the bathroom was super clean! Can't wait to come back! Five stars for Brian!!

This is a cute little place on Broadway with their unique salt/pepper shakers at each table. At this particular visit, we sat at the table with the Rhode Island shakers. I think last time they were little flamingos. It was a bit chilly out, so I decided to get something warm to drink. I ordered the hot toddy which was just what I needed. It was so comforting and delicious. My partner got the spicy coyote - very tasty. We just order apps during this particular visit. I got the Thai shrimp nachos, which was good. I did enjoy the crispy wonton chips.

What a great place! We got to sit in the front window table. Our waitress was super nice! We had to start with the shrimp nachos which were FABULOUS! We also shared the beet and pair salad, yum! The clam chowder was different but delicious with hints of rosemary that kicked the soup up a notch. My friends shared the steak sandwich and the ahi sandwich and said they loved both. I had the streak frites with truffle fires which was OMG good! And my DH got the cod and risotto he loved too. On to the desserts.. we got them all and I would recommend them ALL!!

Went to the Malt last night. We started off with an espresso martini and a spicey mango margarita. Both drinks were well balanced and flavorful. For an app, we had loaded potato croquettes. I absolutely loved them! They weren't a heavy app despite being potatoes which was nice. For a meal, I had the thia shrimp nachos. They are an app but with them having four large shrimp, it made a great light meal. My husband had the southern fried chicken sandwich with bacon jam. He thoroughly enjoyed it and normally he is picky and doesn't like unique ingredients to his food. The server was amazing! We had our baby with us and the server was so sweet and made our little guy laugh and smile every time he came by the table.

Got the potato croquettes that were supposed to be bacon and cheese...they came with barely chopped rosemary. Hard to eat. Other items were ok but underseasoned. Despite that, wine was good and server was attentive.

While driving down Broadway, we spied Malt, with their outdoor seating and exterior lighting and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We got the Malt Burger and the Fish and Chips. The burger was amazing. Quality stuff and cooked perfectly. The fish and chips were 2 decent sized pieces of fish, nicely cooked and the batter was excellent. The potato wedges were great as well. Coleslaw had a lemon taste to it. It was refreshing, but not what I am used to.

Awesome hot chocolate and Guiness of course

We ate here for Valentine's Dinner while staying at the Pell. To be completely honest I was very…read moredisappointed with the experience. We had reservations and waited about 15 minutes to be seated though the host was very nice. They were going to sit us on a 6 top in the middle of the restaurant but moved us to a smaller quieter table as we didn't need such a large table. We ordered shortly after being seated. I ordered the prix fixe menu with came with salad/soup, an entree and a dessert. I also ordered off the kids menu. I ordered mocktails for my kids and a cocktail for myself that came out quickly. I'm a tequila lover so I got the naked and famous which I loved. After our drinks everything went downhill. We then waited almost an hour and a half for our food. I tried to get our servers attention multiple times to ask why the wait was so long. She never bothered to check in with us to let us know we would be waiting so long. I looked over and noticed that the 6 top who sat and ordered well after us had already received their food. When I called our server over to ask if she could at least bring out the soup or kids meal so that my kids wouldn't starve. She stated that she couldn't bring anything out until the kitchen brought everything out together. She said the kitchen was backed up and kind of shrugged me off. Again, I ordered a prix fixe so why would all the courses come out together? That makes zero sense. I pointed out that the family who ordered after us had already gotten their food. She rolled her eyes and walked away. At this point we were already waiting for 1 hour at this point. Normally this behavior would have had me walking out but we were staying at the hotel, had already waited an hour and it was Valentine's Day so anywhere else would have been busy. A few minutes later she brought out some soup for my daughter, no apologies just matter of factly like she did me a favor by bringing out our soup. The table next to us asked her for some fries as they also had a child starving to them she apologized and replied not a problem I'll bring out some fries for you. When we did get our food we were disappointed with everything besides the kids pasta. The pasta was the only thing that tasted ok. The salmon was burnt and the sweet potato puree tasted old and really had no flavor. I missed the part of bacon bits in the green beans so that's on me but the bacon with the salmon did not go together at all. The chicken sandwich was dry and lacked flavor while the fries were okay. I asked for the dessert to go because I didn't want to wait for another hour. She first brought it out on a regular dish then took it to the kitchen and had it mushed in a Togo container not separating the bread from the cream. When I did finally take the dessert to my room I did not enjoy it at all either this was hard and I would not call it bread pudding. It was literally chunks of bread with cream spread on top. The hotel itself was fantastic but our experience at the restaurant was horrible. The front desk was apologetic and accommodating when we checked out however so we will definitely come back to stay at the hotel, but will most likely avoid the restaurant.

I like the bacon bits in the burger, which would have been less interesting without. Fries were pretty standard. Salmon was also good and the skin was my favorite but I don't think the salmon works well with the sweetness of the mash it comes with. Overall good but the only complaint is you don't get much for your money but this is a hotel restaurant. For context, that burger and fries pictures is 21$ by itself and for that price, they could have doubled up the patties. Lol. Salmon was 30$.

Every time we come here the service is excellent and the food is amazing. This is what we come for right? Outstanding food and service! This year was no different than the other years and I love how the menu continues to evolve and change and everything that comes to life from the menu to the table is well thought out and bursting with harmonious blends of flavor. The presentation is gorgeous too! Plating is also important and they nail it! Okay let's gooooo! Come join our dining experience! We tried a bit of everything! We loved every bit of it. I'll mention my faves but that doesn't take away how hard it was to choose a fave! Everything was DELICIOUS ! Raw bar: Jamestown oysters . We had 10. We can't get enough east coast oysters. We live in the west side and I cannot say enough how much better oysters are on east coast! Slurp ! Mmm! Snacks: 1. Shartner's Farm Carrots: pea green pesto, pine nut, n'duja . If you're a meat, potato and pasta person and try to avoid your veggies, don't do that here. GET IT! It's such a great melody of textures and flavors that pair well. It doesn't feel like you are eating carrots and regardless it's a very dressed up bougie delicious carrot plate ! Mmmm . One of my faves out of the snacks. 2. Narragansett Creamery Burrata: green strawberry, speck, basil. Creamy, vibrant and just delicious Pasta: only had room in our tummies for 1 but every year we try different pastas and never disappoints. This year no exception. Maltagliati- hopkins southdowns lamb sugo, swiss chard, harissa, umbrian chickpea. Excellent! Pasta was perfect texture and consistency!! Little touch of spice from harissa which I loved (not overpowering). The Swiss chard was cooked to a crispy texture which I loved. I was a bit nervous about the lamb because it really can vary from place to place. However, I should have known better being from here they cooked/braised it to perfection: melt in your mouth type of soft and no weird or gamey taste. Definitely delicious pasta I recommend. Plates: 1. Duck Leg Confit- japanese turnip, spigariello kale, huckleberry conserva, duck jus. Personally my faves of the two plates but both delicious. The crispy skin from the duck and tender flavorful duck meat was just to die for. Loooooved. Plus the turnips and the amazing huckleberry conserva! Thinking about it makes my mouth water. So so good. 2. Beef Short Rib-swiss chard erbazzone, sunchoke, hazelnut. Loved it. Tasty as expected. Great flavor and tender. Dessert: 1. Olive Oil Cake- strawberry, rosé, lime curd, basil gelato. Wow! Oh wow! I'm so happy this time around they have some cake options. I love olive oil cake and now to pair with a basil gelato sounds insane right? Holy cow! Soooo good! Not what I was expecting. Strawberry, rose, lime and basil gelato flavor all work well together in this dessert. My fave dessert of the night! TRY IT! 2. Cookies N' cream: narragansett creamery ricotta, chocolate biscotti- yummy! Tasted like an elevated cookies and cream ! We loved our experience! Hopefully when you visit here, you can enjoy it as much as we do year after year. I absolutely love this place. The flavor is mild not too garlicky with an herbal earthy flavor. One of the best pasta dishes I've had. Dessert was olive oil cake with a minty flavored gelato. Everything is made in house. The steak was a beautiful cut of meat, well marbled, cooked to perfection and seared so nicely. It was sooo tasty and seared with Malden salt. We are pretty snobby when it comes to steak and this was probably the best steak I've ever had out at a restaurant. The scallops similarly were cooked and seared perfectly and seasoned correctly. Laid on a bed of watercress and potato fondant it was the perfect delicate bite and contrasted nicely with the steak. We got the side of brussel sprouts with peanut Rayu which was a beautiful flavor bomb. I can't say enough about the food. Every single thing we ordered was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I find that to be a rarity in today's restaurant scene. I could not recommend this place more. Okay, but the service - friendly and . . . seemingly caring . . . but - I don't know, not always on top of things? Some things were instantly noted and addressed, others - well, there were big gaps of time between check-ins . . . and it wasn't an especially busy time. So I'd say that's quite the endorsement. I got the vegetable platter, but hadn't anticipated how much black pepper much of it would contain...of which I'm not a fan. As a result, I barely touched some of the more visually peppered vegetable dishes. On the upside, even with sharing the dish with my dining companion, the portions were generous and there was plenty to go around. I was quite full with the 2 1/2 selections that I did consume: carrots, mushrooms and 1/2 the beets (which had more pepper), leaving the more highly peppered asparagus and squash untouched. I forgot how nicely appointed the interior is. It has a fabulous bar area that was full. The hostess was great. She gave us a nice table with an excellent view. Our server came over and introduced herself. We ordered a couple of reserve cocktails, including a special Manhattan and a Last Word. The cocktails were fantastic. We began with crab cakes and a wedge salad. We split both so we could try each appetizer. I have to say that these crab cakes were amongst the best I have ever had. The Wedge salad was also very nicely prepared and very flavorful. The dinner rolls were also excellent. Many places forget this entirely these days. We ordered our entrees next. My wife ordered the filet medium rare, and I ordered the 2-pound baked stuffed lobster. We ordered a very nice half-bottle of Cabernet as well. The entrees were served, and my wife cut into the steak. It was way overcooked. The middle was medium well, and the ends were well done. We sent it back. These things happen, and we took it in stride. The problem that developed was time. After 10 minutes, we were told by our server that the new steak would be right out. Well, 5 minutes later, we heard the same thing from Matthew (the manager?). My entrée was getting cold, and I was getting a bit aggravated. I went to the bathroom. When I got back to the table, my wife had her new filet. She said that Matthew apologized profusely and told her that both entrees would be taken off the bill. Her steak was perfectly prepared, and although my entree was a little cold, it was still excellent. I told Matthew that there was no need to remove my entree, but he insisted. As I said, these things happen. When they do, how the restaurant handles it determines how the customer's experience ends. Matthew went out of his way to make up for this mistake. We will return due to his actions. As I said, the cocktails and food were excellent. We want to sit at the bar as we are bar people. Try it out. You won't be sorry.

was extremely disappointed with my experience at 22 Bowen's. I had planned a special proposal for…read moremy fiancée and made reservations ahead of time. I specifically called and asked if the restaurant could accommodate a special dessert plate with "Will You Marry Me" written on it, and the staff member assured me it would not be a problem. Unfortunately, when the moment came, nothing was done. I went to the front afterward to ask why the request was never fulfilled, and the manager simply told me, "We don't do that." It was upsetting and embarrassing, especially after being promised otherwise. A proposal is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and the lack of communication completely ruined what I had planned. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. My fish and chips were decent, but the fries were overly salty. My fiancée's Caesar salad was very dry, and we had to ask for additional dressing. The anchovies were also slimy, which completely turned her off from the dish. Overall, the experience was disappointing from both a service and dining perspective. Sadly, I would give this restaurant 1 star.
