The ambiance was very new england of course! The food was great!!! Lobster bisque(4/5) Surf and turf burger(4/5) the fries with it could of been better but the burger itself was delicious! Grain bowl with chimichurri chicken (4/5) Service was pretty solid too! Not too much or too little!

Romantic. Sat at the bar. Fantastic bar tenders. Do accommodating food is fantastic stuck with appetizers, crabcakes, dumplings, and calamari.

What truly shines here is the service--attentive, thoughtful, and consistent throughout our visit. We sat outside, which offered great people-watching and a lively atmosphere. I'm glad we made a reservation, because the place filled up quickly. The interior has a darker, cozy vibe with nautical-inspired décor that almost makes you feel like you're dining in the hull of a ship. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Great location, right in the middle of all Newport shops, eateries, hotels, etc. Service was wonderful. The restaurant has two levels. We arrived in a big group but made reservation ahead of time. There were 9 of us. The food lacked favors, especially for dry-aged steak I didn't taste anything different from a regular steak. Some apps were good, skip the crispy pork belly (had a strange taste). Drinks were good, just a tab light on the alcohol pour.

Amazing lunch overlooking the wharf. The staff was super friendly and the decor was on spot exactly what I wanted for my New England vacation. We ordered the seafood platter, a cold lobster roll and a hamburger. The cocktails were amazing and handcrafted. Whatever you guys do do not miss this soot.

If you are looking for a good steakhouse in Newport RI you found it. First off our server was very professional as well as pleasant & inviting. They ran out of the whiskey I ordered but the waiter & the manager came over & offered me a tastings of other whiskeys until I found one I was satisfied with. Both I & my wife enjoyed our steaks as well as the 2 sides pictured. She got a filet which isn't shown but she enjoyed very much. As far as Ambiance goes we had a window view of the pier, very nice.

Pretty place on the water (in no way snooty) with great food and fantastic service. We didn't have better food or service anywhere in Newport - and the pricing at 22 Bowen's was completely reasonable. Our thanks to William at the bar for making our lunch such an enjoyable visit. I'm pretty sure we'll be back.

We stopped by 22 Bowen's for lunch after getting multiple recommendations to eat there. 22 Bowen's is in a great spot on Bowen's Wharf with a great outdoor seating area. We went around 2pm for lunch on a Friday and it was packed and the service was a bit on the slower side. We started with the wagyu dumplings which weren't the best I've ever had, but decent. It took a good amount of time for our entrees to come out. I got the "side" of lobster Mac and cheese and it could feed four people! It was absolutely delicious.

Food was delectable! Oysters and shrimp 10/10 for freshness and the cocktail sauce was just as fresh and seemed like very clean ingredients. The ceaser salad was the perfect portion for two. Lobster bisque, best I have had with bursting lobster flavor throughout every spoonful. The crème brûlée with fresh blueberries, 10/10 for again freshness, clean authentic taste and the crisp sweet topping was flamed to just the right consistency. The service at the bar was friendly, timely, and attentive to all the details. Wonderful ambiance where we could not get a table, but felt like we were at a table, even though we were sitting at the bar for this meal. Will definitely return!

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon in the winter. There weren't too many restaurants that were open so we were pleased to get a table here. The ambiance is beautiful. We were seated at a table by the window. For food, I ordered the clam chowder, which is very good and creamy. It actually has a little dill in it, which I enjoyed. I also got a salad with grilled chicken. While the chicken was a bit dry, the salad was perfectly dressed.

First impressions could have been better. My boyfriend and I had an 8:450pm reservation on a Saturday night (it was the earliest time I could get on open table). The hostess didn't acknowledge us when we walked in. We did arrive early to sit at the bar until our table was ready. I asked to be seated if something was available sooner. They never called us to seat us at a table, instead at 8:45 we went back to the host stand to be seated (the restaurant had plenty of available tables at this point). The food was good. The oysters could have been shucked better. I was consuming a lot of shell pieces. We ordered the Tomahawk for 2 to share for our entree. It was good, nothing memorable. It was nice that you should choose a sauce/butter to accompany your steak at no additional charge. I did include in my reservation that my boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary which nobody acknowledged. We never expect anything but just the acknowledgment would have been nice after all we are celebrating a special occasion and the meal did not come cheap. Overall it was a good experience, not a great one and I probably wouldn't recommend to others considering how many other really great restaurants are in the area.

Are you guys open during the gas shutoff?

Our gas has been restored as it has been in most of Newport. However, we will still be closed through Thursday, January 3, 2019 for our annual scheduled maintenance on the building. We will reopen for dinner service on Friday, February 1.

I loved the vinaigrette on top perfectly acidic and vinegary. It cut though the oil and heaviness of the breading which was perfectly salted by the way. Nestled in the Wharf, it was a cute little place with both an up and downstairs. We reserved a spot for around 5:30 (in April) and it was pretty open. There weren't too customers yet, and it was nice and quiet. If you're looking for a ton of space for the seating area, I will say that there isn't too much room/it's pretty nice and cozy! At Wharf Southern Kitchen and Whiskey Bar, they've got a line of booths along the wall, a bar area right in the center and at the actual bar, a high top, another bar at one of the entrances, and a table that seats six. Now let's chat about the service. Our waitress was wonderful, patient, and was extremely helpful when asked questions and also gave SUCH wonderful suggestions. There were MANY fantastic choices on their menu and I was having a pretty difficult time narrowing down which one I really wanted, but with our waitress's help, I was able to choose pretty quickly (and they were AMAZING choices!) Now the food! The wait for the food honestly wasn't that long, and when we got it, we ABSOLUTELY CHOWED... -The Crispy Chicken Bites were AMAZING! I ended up upgrading to the Buffalo Style, and it DID NOT disappoint at all! The Bleu Cheese crumbles were just the perfect amount, and the Buffalo sauce was JUST enough to still enjoy the crispiness of the chicken. I DID ask for ranch on the side, and that just was *chef's kiss*! -I've never had fried pickles before, but I certainly have never seen a restaurant do it with whole pickles. Though it was my first time trying fried pickles, it tasted great! I wouldn't say it's anything special, but it's a great, and lighter on the fried side, appetizer! -I was having a hard time choosing what entree to enjoy, but I'M SOOOO glad that I went with the Smoked Brisket Chopped Cheese! I'm not a big brisket girl, but I will say that this was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! At first when it came out on the bun, I was a little skeptical of how it would taste, but it definitely didn't disappoint! The brisket was cooked SO well with the perfect amount of seasoning, and it all just melted so perfectly together as I was eating it. And the tater tots were SO AMAZING (though on the saltier side) and SO perfectly crispy. I've only got great things to say about Wharf Southern Kitchen & Whiskey Bar & I WILL be back here/will suggest it to my friends visiting Newport one day!

This bar & restaurant has three floors filled with plenty of entertainment until 1AM. We started off our first night in Newport by having an early dinner here on a Friday. We sat ourselves at the bar on the first floor. The bartenders were friendly and attentive - no complaints on service. To start off, I ordered my usual drink... a classic margarita. It was strong and tarty with a good kick. Their menu offers your typical American pub food like burgers, sandwiches, wings, tacos, wraps, etc. They had a BOGO deal for their spicy fried chicken sandwich (~$14), so we couldn't resist saying no to that lol. The meal included a spicy fried chicken, lettuce, pickles, and spicy aioli sauce on a brioche bun with a side of fries. The portion size was generous and just enough to fill my belly, but not enough to put me into a food coma. The chicken was tender and juicy and I loved how fluffy and buttery the brioche bun was. There was a little too much batter on the chicken than I would have liked, but it was still a delicious sandwich nonetheless. The fries were super crispy and crunchy, 10/10. I'm curious to know what their other sandwiches taste like! Around 8pm, it turns into more of a bar/club atmosphere. It gets progressively packed and loud. There are bouncers at the door to check for IDs and to handle cover fees (if needed). There's live music every weekend from 8-11pm, as well as a DJ from 11pm - closing. The top floor of the restaurant hosts their famous Dueling Piano show where two entertainers perform and engage in playful competition. You request songs for them to play on a grand piano, so it's a fun and interactive experience. Reservations are required in advance. Check their website for the full schedule of their live music performances and show times. Since we got there early, we were able to keep our seats at the bar to watch the live music performance. We had reservations and waited about 15 minutes to be seated though the host was very nice. They were going to sit us on a 6 top in the middle of the restaurant but moved us to a smaller quieter table as we didn't need such a large table. We ordered shortly after being seated. I ordered the prix fixe menu with came with salad/soup, an entree and a dessert. I also ordered off the kids menu. I ordered mocktails for my kids and a cocktail for myself that came out quickly. I'm a tequila lover so I got the naked and famous which I loved. After our drinks everything went downhill. We then waited almost an hour and a half for our food. I tried to get our servers attention multiple times to ask why the wait was so long. She never bothered to check in with us to let us know we would be waiting so long. I looked over and noticed that the 6 top who sat and ordered well after us had already received their food. When I called our server over to ask if she could at least bring out the soup or kids meal so that my kids wouldn't starve. She stated that she couldn't bring anything out until the kitchen brought everything out together. She said the kitchen was backed up and kind of shrugged me off. Again, I ordered a prix fixe so why would all the courses come out together? That makes zero sense. I pointed out that the family who ordered after us had already gotten their food. She rolled her eyes and walked away. At this point we were already waiting for 1 hour at this point. Normally this behavior would have had me walking out but we were staying at the hotel, had already waited an hour and it was Valentine's Day so anywhere else would have been busy. A few minutes later she brought out some soup for my daughter, no apologies just matter of factly like she did me a favor by bringing out our soup. The table next to us asked her for some fries as they also had a child starving to them she apologized and replied not a problem I'll bring out some fries for you. When we did get our food we were disappointed with everything besides the kids pasta. The pasta was the only thing that tasted ok. The salmon was burnt and the sweet potato puree tasted old and really had no flavor. I missed the part of bacon bits in the green beans so that's on me but the bacon with the salmon did not go together at all. The chicken sandwich was dry and lacked flavor while the fries were okay. I asked for the dessert to go because I didn't want to wait for another hour. She first brought it out on a regular dish then took it to the kitchen and had it mushed in a Togo container not separating the bread from the cream.
