Had a delicious dinner at Bar 'Cino on my friend's bachelorette! The waitress was super friendly and took great care of our table. We loved the paccheri, Parmesan risotto, chicken Milanese, and carbonara. My friend enjoyed her Margherita pizza, and you actually got to cut your slices with scissors. A great option in Newport!
The pastas were just okay, but the pizza was the real hidden star! Amazing smoky flavor, and able to be cut yourself which made for a fun sharing experience. The dessert was good as well, the ricotta pistachio cake especially. Drinks were also good and reasonably price. The place is booked out well in advance during busy times, but still has walk ins. Staff is super friendly and welcoming, and were helpful with making accommodations for vegetarian members of the party.
My friends and I love Italian food, especially pasta! This sauce was amazing, I would say one of the best bolognese sauces I have had in awhile. If you're looking for good Italian, I would definitely recommend. Can't wait to go back.
Friends in town and wanted a nice relaxing place to enjoy a meal. Not too busy for a midweek night. Had both bar or table seating available for quick seating. Sandy was our amazing server, provided great recommendations and very attentive to her respective tables. Cocktails were great, antipasto was a great start not too much to leave room for the main and desert! The focaccia was light and flavorful as well. Had the rigatoni bolognese which was prepared perfectly and had great flavor. Nearly licked the plate clean! Saved a little room for desert with both cakes being tasty and washed down with an espresso martini. Lovely place to have a date night or night out with friends!
I absolutely loved this place. Drip coffees were good. They kept refilling my mug without even asking. The cappuccinos came with a little cookie which is very European and always puts a smile on my face. We took two pizzas - the prosciutto fig one and the spicy sausage kale one - both were excellent but the prosciutto one came with this blue cheese spread thing which was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! Their pizzas are grilled btw and the base is somewhere between a flaky 'paratha' and a pizza base. Excellent grilled pizzas We also took the antipasti board - comes with a little bit of everything and highly recommend. Lovely balanced flavors all round For desserts, we got the pistachio cake and the budino. The budino was bouncy jiggly moist and lovely. The cake was right up my alley with sweetness level (maybe it could be a tad less sweet) and it was beautiful light and airy
My mom came to visit me for her birthday. Of all the times we've been to Newport, we've never found anywhere we liked for dinner. So my goal was to try a few spots with her since it's off season and easier to get a reservation. She loves pasta and so I thought this could be a good option. From the moment we walked in, service was so friendly but not over the top. I started with a delicious sweet potato vegetable soup. I got the braised short rib and my mom choose the bolognese. We both loved our entrees and found them to have a lot of flavor and were well prepared. The vibe was slightly noisy but not to where we couldn't talk. Just fun and busy. We shared a slice of delicious cake to celebrate. We were both really impressed with the whole experience and will definitely be returning!!
We were visiting Newport again and had to make a stop at Bar 'Cino. I knew to make a reservation this time as it was holiday week and this place is always busy. Food was so good and while I always love their salads, I had to opt for some pasta to warm me up! The pasta did not disappoint. Sorry my photo is not great ... i almost finished my meal before i got a photo. Service was great and everyone is so nice and friendly. This restaurant is always dependable and we will definitely be back. If you're staying at the Newport Marriott, it's only about 2 blocks away and so convenient.
Drove straight here from landing in providence to eat! Our first time but had heard about it on TikTok a lot! We had just tried newhaven style pizza a few weeks ago on vacation, and when I heard about Newport grilled pizza I had to come! We did the margherita pom grilled pizza and it was delicious a completely different pizza experience than I've ever had before so I loved it! We also got the Chicken Milanese which was highly recommended everywhere and it did not disappoint the chicken was juicy perfection and the breading crunched but like melted in your mouth /a burst of flavor!
Four of us came for dinner and we really liked the food here. First of all, I was not aware that this was a Newport Restaurant group member, so at the end of the meal, I checked in on the app and gave my Check-In code to the server for my reward points. The host recommended their prosciutto and fig pizza flatbread and it was a hit...great choice. Light and well balanced...thin crust...tasty toppings. We got the roasted chicken "table for 2" and it was delicious....Nice and moist on the inside, well seasoned and roasted on the outside. It came with veggies....just a great meal. Nice servers, nice ambiance. A winner on my book.
Bar Cino is such a cozy little gem in Newport. The vibe is laid back but buzzing, especially on weekends. It definitely gets packed, so do yourself a favor and make a reservation. The service is friendly and on point, and the place is super clean -- even the bathrooms. Always a good sign. You have to try the grilled pizza, chicken Milanese, and the whipped ricotta with honey and grilled bread. Their pasta dishes, especially the tagliatelle bolognese, are next level. Portions are solid too, so you won't leave hungry.
The ambience is very nice in here & I got sat right away. The wine menu was confusing because when I asked the waitress about the white wines per glass she said only 3 were available. She was nice enough to let me try them and I chose the Trevino which was very good and paired great with my food. The bread was nothing special but solid and the high quality olive oil made up for it. For my main I got the chicken milanese and it was divine. I loved the vinaigrette on top perfectly acidic and vinegary. It cut though the oil and heaviness of the breading which was perfectly salted by the way. The arugula bean salad was sooo good and created such a well balanced meal. The one thing I will say is I believe their fryer does fish and chicken bc my chicken had a slight ocean taste but since I like fish I was not bothered but non fish people beware!
Overall, this place was great! Trendy, cute, casual but still nice, great location. We made a reservation for 6, and ended up waiting about 10 minutes to be seated, not a huge deal. They give fresh focaccia to start and it's fantastic. Their cocktails are super unique but they also have mocktails which were more up my alley. Def recommend broccolini to start. We got the spicy sausage pizza & chicken piccata to share. They brought out the pizza super quick (it's also fun bc you get to cut it with scissors) and so we started eating the pizza and a lot of time had past so we figured they had forgotten about the chicken piccata which wasn't a big deal bc we finished the pizza and were full. Then all the sudden a serve took our empty pizza plate away and then brought out the chicken piccata. We were so confused bc like... why didn't you bring them out at the same time??? Anyways it was still good and we just took the chicken to go, it was just weird.
Bar cino was a pleasant surprise, sat at the counter. It was a busy Fri night but the service was great!! I love the inside of this place modern yet a little bit rustic. Only down side was sitting at the counter the heat from the grill was making us sweat! I got the Branzino, it was cooked perfectly and had great flavor! The antipasto was delicious and the Brie was gooey and sweet!! Will definitely be back

Great spot to go to in Newport, RI! Came here two years ago and just recently had it again this May. The food is so good here! Very fresh and honestly, very affordable for the aesthetic, quality, and taste. Plus the service is great. I've had their pastas, entrees, apps, pizza, and drinks and there is nothing you can go wrong with. My personal favorites is their kale salad, chianti marsala braised beef and mushroom tagliatelle. Again, the quality is great and everything is seasoned/ flavored well. Plus their pastas are homemade! They also give free bread, who doesn't love that? I cannot recommend this place enough. Perfect for a date night or night out with friends. read more

Every table and bar seat was packed so I highly recommend having a reservation or be prepared to wait a bit. The Romaine & Kale Caesar Salad with Chicken Milanese was genuinely tremendous. Such an elite combination from the freshness & creaminess of the salad to the crispiness and saltiness of the Chicken Milanese. Since we were sharing, they pre-split the portion for us which was a nice hassle-free experience. I could've honestly ended the meal here and been super content. I rarely see oven roasted pizza on the menu so we decided to try the Oven Roasted Chicken Grilled Pizza. The best part was actually the dough; it's thin enough where the roasted/grilled flavor comes through. The pesto and arugula were both good and paired well with the grilled chicken. The Tagliatelle was savory, earthy, and not overly creamy. The pasta itself was cooked just right. Since we were celebrating a birthday, I was so grateful that they offered us a complimentary slice of Limoncello Mascarpone Cake. It was so good! Moist, creamy, and not too sweet or citrusy. We sat at the counter right in front of all the magic. The chefs are definitely hard at work and it was really fun watching them make it all happen. The service was really good. We loved the olives and the roasted beets! The whipped Gorgonzola was a perfect match for the beets, not overpowering at all. After much thought over the menu, I decided to go with the short rib. The short rib was not fatty and it was super tender. I was able to pull it apart easily with my fork. The mashed potatoes were great and complimented the dish with the short rib sauce. I wasn't a fan of the tequila drink that I ordered, but my glass of wine paired very well with the short rib. read more

GOOD FOOD - FRIENDLY SERVICE FOOD Pretty good. The bolognese, which appears to be a very popular dish, was good, not great. The pizzas that you cut with scissors look cool and certainly offer a level of fun to splitting a pie - didn't try one tho. AMBIANCE Casual with a touch of upscale ambiance. Nice place for a dinner and drinks with friends or an easy going date. Not romantic but no one said they were trying to be. DRINKS Fun drink menu. Had a latte and it was good. This place appears to be a cocktail establishment that serves pretty good Italian food :) SUMMARY If you're in town, craving Italian, this is a cool spot to go. If you're looking to have some drinks - this appears to definitely be a cool spot to go to. Legend has it that it might be the best around - doesn't necessarily mean it's the best Italian food there is tho. But you won't be disappointed. Ciao read more
This place was recommended from a Newport local and it did not disappoint. We booked this as a birthday dinner and were left a birthday card signed by the wait staff which was a nice touch. The service was great, very attentive and everything came out very quickly. The food was delicious. The pizza looked odd but it was so good. It's also in a great location, right near Thames. Came here for an early dinner at Bar 'Cino for 4th of July! The place was packed but we were able to make a reservation before our sunset sail. The highlight was definitely the pistachio ricotta cake -- light, fluffy, and not overly sweet. I'd honestly order regular shipments to my house if I could. The pasta dishes (spaghetti with shrimp and campanelle) were both solid, and the campanelle was pretty special in my opinion. The summer squash was fine, but I wouldn't order it again. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and Bar 'Cino must share a space with the place next door because we were sat where the two restaurants combine on the inside. I will say that while our server was friendly and welcoming, service was a bit spotty and we didn't get checked on much. read more
Loved! Recommended by locals and for good reason. We had a delicious farro salad and flatbread pizza. We went for lunch and the service was quick and more on the casual side ambiance wise. I would make a reservation for dinner. read more

Had a fantastic time at Bar'Cino last night!! We showed up around 6pm on a super rainy night without a reservation. We were super lucky to snag two seats at the bar- perfect! We were greeted right away by the bartender and given some time to look at the menu. I decided on a class of Pinot noir and my fiancé was happy that coors light was available. The menu looked amazing and it was difficult for me to decide what to order. We ended up doing the antipasti platter to start and it was fantastic. We loved the cannellini beans and pickled tomatoes. The fig jam was also delicious. For our main we got the roasted chicken for two. Presentation was gorgeous and taste was awesome. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and I couldn't stop eating the Brussels sprouts and carrots. Our bartender checked on us and was very friendly. She even gave us some recommendations for bars to watch Monday night football. I was really impressed with Bar'Cino. From the service, food, drinks, and price point- it was perfect! read more

Went for dinner on a Monday night in October and the place was packed. I sat at the bar and had amazing service. The Chianti was yummy and complemented the Mushroom Ravioli... delicious! It came with some warm focaccia and evoo to dip it in. Overall love the vibe of this place and would highly recommend. read more

We loved our pre-theater meal . Sitting on sidewalk we could people watch as we sipped on our sangria, and well prepared gin and tonic . The drink was reasonably priced at $12. We loved our bolognese with the portion perfect for a three way split. We also had a bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, a bowl of fresh olives and a shared plate with grilled zucchini . Mostly professional service, although not especially friendly. Pretty if somewhat loud (busy!) room and good food at prices that are completely reasonable for what you get. Good and interesting wines by the glass. We'd for-sure go back. read more
Bar 'Cino delivers on all fronts. The Caesar salad was crisp with freshly grated Parmesan, and the bruschetta was the perfect mix of toasted bread, creamy cheese, and sweet cherry tomatoes. The real stars? The Margherita pizza--super thin, crispy, and uniquely cut with scissors--and the rich, flavorful bolognese. Both were outstanding. Service was solid despite the busy crowd. We booked ahead, which I'd highly recommend. Great food, great atmosphere--already looking forward to my next visit! read more
Brava, Brava !!!! Absolutely adored it here, sat at the bar with a bird's eye view of the dining room & bar all the way down. I don't even need to be specific, one of our favorite dining experiences of the summer while driving from Narraganset to Newport to Portsmouth NH, York Beach Maine to Portland. Make a reservation during season (I guess) we lucked out. And soon after headed to the Bar 'Cino outside of Boston in Brookline and we were sadly disappointed. The same dishes were noticeably different in preparation & presentation. I'll head back to Newport soon to revisit this stellar restaurant. read more

Excellent food and ambiance! Sat outside and order the arugula salad, pesto gnocchi, mushroom pizza, salmon and pecorino pasta (substituted the clams for the shrimp no extra charge). They have a fantastic red called Masi COSTASERA, perfect complement to the meal, would definitely return to try other options as well! read more
