If you haven't tried this one-of-a-kind dining experience tucked away on the chic and trendy side of Hope Street, then you need to hurry right over there. From the moment you step in the door, you realize that you're about to have an experience. You might meet Adam, Co-owner and keeper of the vibe at the door. You won't pick him out right away, he looks like the rest of the front-of-house staff, it's one team! The décor is unique, (see the bathrooms right away, I won't spoil it for you here!). Bring your phone with you. You're going to want a selfie from in there. (I know! It's not as weird as you think!) The vibe is cool, and relaxed, friendly and fun, but the energy is palatable. You'll love just being there I promise! Then comes the food and drink. The bar is fantastic, staffed by experienced, friendly and hospitable bar professionals who just can't wait to start making your visit memorable. The servers are professional and delightful, and really down to earth. No pretense at this place! They have tons of experience and their knowledge around the total product is impressive. The attention to detail, in the whole operation, is just as completely impressive. The menu is new, and fresh and unique. All the pasta is made in their Hope Street window by Chef/co-owner and all-around food guru CJ. He and his staff make tons of pasta every day each in a most imaginative shape, and each designed to compliment the exact dish for which they are meant. I guarantee you have not ever seen a menu like this. My personal recommendation is to come back often and do not eat the same thing twice, until you've been though the entire menu. I'm not kidding. * SHORT RIB STUFFED ARANCINI. * SAUSAGE & RABE WITH WHITE BEANS * SUNDAY MACARONI. But don't let me influence you. TRY EVERYTHING! If you want to see and be seen, this is the joint! If you want to drink great drinks, and eat extraordinary food, in a chill-vibe then this is definitely your place. Have I ever lied to you?! -JOHN

I visited once already and came back again. When I came the first time I thought to myself, this place is only going to get better each and every visit. Boy, was I right!!!! Just wow! Can I give them 6 stars? I visited with Meg M and Steve (aka Willow) was our server. He took great care of us! The cocktail menu is just so impressive, but makes decisions harder! He explained some of the sections to us and gave recommendations. I had the hot pink Paloma, which had dragon fruit and mezcal in it!!!!! For our starters we had the focaccia bread, which comes with fontina cheese and Calabrian chili oil. I can't have dairy and Steve made sure to bring out marinara sauce for me to have with my bread. We also had the Japanese eggplant which WOW!!!! Next time I come, im asking for that eggplant on top of pasta for my dinner! It was soooooooo good! They prepared it for me without cheese on that too. For dinner, I ordered the clam pasta dish and my friend had the Sunday supper. Her dinner was huge, enough food for 2-3 meals! Both meals were fantastic. I had wine with my dinner and Steve suggested a red which was fantastic. My friend had an Aperol sour drink which was shaken in the coolest machine. For dessert we had lemon sorbet and olive oil cake. My friend had an espresso and it smelled amazing. Truly such an amazing experience. Plus we chatted with the lovely guests that rotated at the table next to us. Can't wait to come back for more eggplant and fresh pasta!

Finally checked out Ciao Ciao finally with Taylor S and wow! Can I give them 6 stars please?!? We started with some beautiful cocktails, and they were so refreshing and tasty. Lexi helped us with some ideas, Steve (Willow) made sure we picked drinks we would love, and Andrew made sure they were sooooo good! What a team! We were convinced we needed two appetizers, and Steve was right. We really did! The eggplant app (Melanzane Al Sugo) was AMAZING and I can't stress how you must try it! Taylor has a dairy allergy so they went out of their way to give us sides for her to go with our focaccia bread. They were so accommodating! For mains, Taylor got a seafood pasta dish (Chitarra alle Vongole) , and she loved it! The plate was clean when she was done with it! I got the Sunday Macaroni which is basically enough for three meals! Taylor got some Italian red wine and I enjoyed a house made sour that is made in this badass shaker machine. I was obsessed! We also may have ordered dessert---the Ciao Ciao Olive Oil Cake is a must! We were pretty full, but I had as espresso before we left. Adam, the owner checked in on us throughout the night. You can see all the effort, love and pride that goes into the restaurant. That is all seen through the amazing staff---Lexi, Steve and Andrew took such great care of us from start to finish! I also have to add (to this never ending review) that the little touches of art from the menu to the walls to the stunning bathrooms really make this place unique! On the night we went it was beautiful and it reminded me so much of nights when I lived in Rome, and less like I was in Providence! What an experience!

Had an awesome experience at Ciao Ciao! Friendly, accommodating staff who were attentive but low key. Food was amazing, I highly recommend the short rib entree - so tender and flavorful! Extensive cocktail offerings and great wine list. Relaxed vibe that was warm and welcoming. I Went by myself and never felt rushed. Will definitely be going back again soon!

Fresh pasta = Great food. Amazing drinks along with awesome service. Tonight was their 1st night open and if there were any 1st night jitters they did not show it. Can not wait to go back for the amazingly fresh pasta. (I hear it's made daily )

    Sausage and Peppers samdwich

Nice and inviting bar and dining room! The food is top notch! The chicken Milanese sandwich is a big portion and the focaccia bread is so delicious! The chicken is so crispy and pounded perfectly. The sausage and peppers sandwich was excellent! I highly recommend dining here. The service was amazinging as well.... Ask for Denis!

    Orecchiette

The food was delicious! Great atmosphere, highly recommend to everyone! Pasta is homemade everyday and you can tell!

Ciao Ciao has quickly become one of my favorite spots. I've been for both lunch and dinner so far and everything has been amazing. For lunch, the Chicken Milanese sandwich was easily my favorite: perfectly crispy, flavorful, and just really satisfying. For dinner, the Cacio e Pepe is amazing - simple, rich, and executed perfectly. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

My friend knows much more about wine than I do, so he was the decision maker for our wine choices and we ordered a 1/2 bottle of red which we both found to be very delicious. Of course, we had to try some food too and the small bites menu was perfect with something to satisfy nearly every taste. We opted for the meat charcuterie, and it was beautifully presented with enough for the two of us to share. There is also a cheese charcuterie on the menu, but unfortunately there is not an option for a combined meat and cheese plate. We sat, sipped, and tasted for a while and never felt rushed. The atmosphere was so comfortable and we'll definitely consider going back here again.

I can browse a liquor store & pick out a bottle that exactly fits my preferences, my mood, & my budget. I can bring it home & uncork the wine, checking the cork for freshness. I can pull out my special glassware & pour myself a glass of wine & enjoy it on my own couch. So why go out to a wine bar, if not for the wine? For me, it's for the ambience & the experience. Both of those things at Providence Wine Bar were lacking. The lights were too bright (overhead & fluorescent) & the music was too loud (& just bad). The employees seemed both bored & nervous, with not much to do to occupy themselves. I was one of the only people in the bar, so I felt like I was under scrutiny - I'm certain this wasn't intentional but it was unfortunately how it came across. I brought a book but couldn't focus because of the lights & the music. I even caught myself with my fingers in my ears, trying to muffle the sounds of 2010s hyper pop. I have nothing against 2010s hyperpop, it's just that there's a time & place for everything, & maybe that isn't at a wine bar at 8 PM on a Wednesday. I just wanted to be done with my glass of wine so that I could leave. All of that being said, I wish them the best. It seems like they need a good manager's touch.

I ordered the Chicken Francaise, described as "flour breaded, egg-dipped, sautéed chicken cutlets with a lemon-butter and white wine sauce, served with jasmine rice and greens." Unfortunately, the dish delivered bore little resemblance to that description. The "greens" appeared to be little more than a handful of bagged grocery store salad mix dumped onto the plate, complete with brown, wilted lettuce. It was unappetizing to look at and ultimately inedible. The chicken itself was bland and flavorless. Rather than the bright, balanced lemon flavor that Chicken Francaise is known for, the overwhelming taste was simply butter. The sauce lacked the smooth, velvety texture traditionally associated with a good francaise sauce and seemed hastily prepared. The jasmine rice was equally disappointing. It had none of the fragrant, floral qualities that distinguish jasmine rice from ordinary white rice. It tasted like plain boiled rice with no seasoning or character. At nearly $24, I expected a much higher-quality meal. This was, without question, the worst dish I've had here and felt like a complete miss from the kitchen. The one bright spot of the evening was the cocktail. I ordered the Pear Flower Martini, and it was absolutely excellent--perfectly balanced, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The bar program continues to impress and was easily the highlight of the meal. One additional disappointment was learning that the restaurant adds a 3% surcharge for credit card payments. While I understand businesses have the right to offset processing costs, this was not pointed out when the check was presented. I only learned about it because I specifically asked. I was told the charge is removed if you pay with cash or a debit card. Transparency matters, and this should be clearly disclosed when guests receive their bill rather than requiring them to notice and question it themselves. I hope this was simply an off night because the quality of this meal was nowhere near what I've come to expect from this restaurant.

The welcome aperitif was a great lil' treat to kick the night off with. We were given a mini charcuterie selection to keep us busy until the main event, which began about 20 minutes after we arrived. Vannaluck talked us through the history & characteristics of cognac. We were given 3 small pours of different cognacs to taste as well as a serendipitous, bonus mini pour at the end. We took a walk around the Westminster for a bit until the place was open. We were sat down right away. Inside is cozy with dim lights and open kitchen and some tables. They have few outside seating available as well. We started with some appetizer raw fish and combo as well as kohlrabi Caesar. We got black bass and a seasonal fish with combo that included lightly roasted oysters, shrimp and squid. All seafood was directly sourced from local port and fresh. Seafood appetizer was delicious. The caesar was interesting. I've never had kohlrabi but it reminded me of radish and it was tasty. Personally i would have preferred little less salt and olive oil so that flavor of the raw ingredient stand out more but was not too bad. My entree was the seafood risotto. Flavorful risotto with some seafood on top. Was a bit messy to eat because of the shells but was flavorful. The crab and shellfish itself was small and a bit underwhelming but the rice was rich and full of fish flavor. My mother had the cacio e Pepe which was good but she said that nothing comparable to one she had in Rome. I was not a huge fan of the thicker pasta but that's just is personal preference. Service was excellent but the table was a bit small and tight as we were very close to the next table and can hear what others are talking about so not a very privately setting. Overall i did like the place. Food and service were good. But it was not anything exceeding expectation and there were few things that detracted from our experience such as heavy seasonings, small dining space and etc... The price is quite expensive for the amount of food they serve as well. I think it's a good place for special occasions.
