I checked out Bellini for the first time for restaurant week recently. The decor and ambiance is fairly posh, but bright and inviting. Service was polite and efficient but a bit detached. The food overall was good. I enjoyed the carpaccio the most of the dishes I tried. I also had the branzino which was good but I thought the sweetness of the parsnip puree (it said fennel puree on the RW menu but parsnip puree on the regular menu--tasted more like parsnip to me) didn't really complement the other flavors. Aside from that it was really good and a nice portion size that didn't overwhelm. The tiramisu with two thumbs up! Overall it was a good meal! I can't complain though with so many great Italian restaurants in Providence I'm not sure it would be a standout from some others. read more

Beautiful restaurant with slow service and very much average food at michelin prices. Love the ambiance and the staff is friendly, but it takes about 40 minutes to get a cappuccino. Don't go if you're in a rush. The food is totally fine but considering the prices and the way the restaurant disguises itself as extremely upscale, I was expecting better. The restaurant is connected to the Beatrice Hotel for any out of towners that want a quick bite to eat. My favorite dish is the scallops with a side of rice. It comes with a lemon butter sauce that is incredible! The fried mozzarella is thick and crispy. I love that it's not to oily as well for something pan fried. I chose this restaurant for my husband's team at a conference and it was a lovely choice to make sure that the team felt valued for all they do. I had the Linguine Branzino and could put it on a weekly rotation it was so delicious. The Branzino was flaky, tender, moist and perfectly seared. The linguine was in a perfectly balanced marinara that had a hint both sweetness and tanginess that was delightful. My husband ordered the lobster risotto and it was also amazing! Savory with a hint of sweetness. We chose a French wine that paired perfectly with the dishes. The service was fabulous and Tess was I top of everything. We had a couple of hours mid-day in Providence before a flight home and wanted to enjoy some lunch at an Italian restaurant in the city. Bellini ranked very high in Yelp and so we decided to try it. We didn't realize until we sat down that it was just a fancy hotel restaurant. They had some interesting pastas on the menu, but otherwise not much ambiance. Service was meh. We may not have been dressed fancy enough. I would not likely go back. There must be better options for local Italian in Providence. read more

To be honest, I was afraid to try Bellini because I figured the price point would be unreasonably high. While it is a pricey spot, it is comparable to other nice restaurants in PVD, and you definitely are paying for the service and the experience. Service was top notch. Everyone wears suits, which may be over the top, but it's very classy. Unlike a previous comment, they did have a coat rack. I left my phone in my coat and didn't realize it, so I didn't get any photos of our meal :( But the interior is gorgeous and light and floral. I had fresh squeezed OJ (for lunch) because it sounded good and it was SO good. My husband and I also got the virgin version of the namesake cocktail, the Bellini. The peach notes really come through! It was a little sweet, but it was nice they had a nonalcoholic version. We had two of the specials, the soup of the day (lentil) and my husband had a short rib risotto that he loved. I had the Cacio e Pepe and - while it was different than I expected, larger noodles for one - it was really delicious. I ended up eating way more than I thought I could. They have their own pastry program so if you can fit in dessert, I'd recommend it. I'm not a fan of meringue usually, but theirs was light and creamy and decadent. Overall, the food was great. This place is a splurge for us, but definitely a worthwhile one! I recommend it. read more

My colleagues and I had a reservation at Bellini for our Team End of the Year Appreciation Dinner. When Bellini texted my colleague who made the reservation to confirm dinner the day prior, it said they don't allow shorts or hats. Since I was the first to arrive, I waited in the front area where the hostess is situated. There were 4 chairs. Valet parking is available and street parking but it may be hard to find. The restaurant is very modern and spacious inside. We were a group of 10 and were seated in the private room in the back of the restaurant at one long table. On the table were two drink menus. I started with the Bee's Knees which had Gin, Honey Syrup, Lemon Juice, Calabrian Chili and then ordered the Empress 75 which had Prosecco, Gin, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup. Both drinks were good. The Empress 75 has a nice lavender color. My colleague had The Bellini, which is a pretty standard drink with prosecco and white peach. It was served in a cocktail glass and not a champagne flute. The worst part is that it was warm. She asked for a cup of ice and poured it in there, but it did not help. Two bread baskets were brought to the table. It was full of different breads like breadsticks and focaccia. The bread was fluffy and light. For dinner, I had the Tagliardi with "Tartufo Nero di Norcia" Black Truffle Cream Sauce. The Black Truffle Cream Sauce was so creamy, tasty, and succulent. Tagliardi are wide squares of thin pasta. The pasta was silky and velvety and with the sauce, it was delicious! There were also shaved truffle pieces on top. The whole dish was packed with flavor and I enjoyed every bite. At the end of the meal, we got complimentary cookies. They were so buttery and soft. Service was great and attentive. Gratuity was already added to the bill. We left the restaurant feeling full and enjoyed each other's company. read more

A great Friday night! We were staying at the hotel and checked in late. We decided to eat at Bellini rather than trying to figure out where to go. The ambiance is vibrant and energetic and a bit loud. But the service is exceptional- lots of waiters and staff were very attentive. Our food was delightful! The prices were totally reasonable to me. We went to Bellini Providence to celebrate my sister's birthday. This was the absolutely best choice for a wonderful dining experience. Our waiter Nick, was exceptional not only did my sister feel special as the birthday girl, but our entire party of seven felt well taken care of. We all really enjoyed our meals. Great atmosphere and service. Didn't have to ask for a single thing, as the Bellini staff was on it before I even knew what I needed. Me and my girlfriend were serviced by Wilmer in particular. His attentiveness made dining at Bellini's an experience to remember. Each course was brought one right after the other, but we didn't feel rushed. The environment is quite calm. I personally had the fried mozzarella and bruschetta trio del giorno for appetizers, the spinach and ricotta cheese toretelli for my entree, and finally tiramisu for dessert. As a solo traveler I love stumbling upon random finds when I am walking about a city. Since it was the only restaurant I could find open on thanksgiving I guess it wasn't that random but nonetheless it was a very enjoyable experience. At first I was a little intimidated by the fine dining atmosphere as that's usually not my favorite but I found my little spot in the corner at the bar and enjoyed every minute. Chris automatically made me feel welcomed as is custom in that kind of environment but went above and beyond normal service. He has amazing recommendations when it comes to food and especially the wine pairing and knows how to poor a good drink. I don't care what kind of environment a restaurant promises but the service is what makes or breaks it and he definitely made it. I appreciate a bartender who knows his way around a drink and knows how to recommend a good experience. Throw in a good conversation and I will give it a 10/10 every time. It reminded me of the nicest restaurants in NYC, yet remained unpretentious and friendly. Our server was knowledgeable, funny, and helpful. Our party of 5 ordered a broad selection of appetizers and mains from steak to gnocchi. All dishes were well-prepared, well-portioned, and tasty. The prices were very reasonable for the experience. The meal, a birthday celebration, brought Bellini to the level of favorite Providence restaurant for a number of the guests in our party. I made a reservation in the beginning of November (one month out) for a very important holiday business lunch in December. I received the standard email asking for confirmation the day before the lunch around noon. Two hours later I received an email saying that the reservation had been cancelled due to the restaurant being booked by a private party. In disbelief of it being less than 24 hours prior to our reservation, I called the restaurant to confirm this was the case. The person I spoke with was unpleasant, unsympathetic, and offered nothing for the extreme short notice/imposition. The service is impeccable and the waiters/waitresses will help you with any question or request you have. We came here for my birthday and they were extraordinarily attentive. I started with the fried mozzarella which was perfectly crunchy with a soft inside and delicious marinara sauce to dip in. I ordered the the signature pappardelle alla Bellini and was not disappointed. Smooth and the perfect mix of creamy and flavorful. This is one of those rare spots where you feel transported to another time & place. The vibe is so cool. It reminds me of a NYC restaurant - no disrespect, PVD. The service is absolutely amazing. The servers are dressed in white jackets with black ties. I chose to celebrate my birthday here and everything was perfect. From Bella, the hostess that made the reservation with the special table requested, to Brooks the perfect bartender - we were well taken care of. Everyone wished me a happy birthday and checked in throughout the night to ensure we were having the best time. The food is phenomenal. Limited selections. Dishes were not nearly as good as the Italian restaurants on Federal Hill or other places in RI. Veal Scallopini (with a side of rice) was skimpy and not flavorful. Very, very expensive for the portion size. The bread was hot and the olive oil was good but main dishes lacked oomph. No one at my table of 8 ordered dessert or coffee. I had a really unfortunately racist experience at this restaurant. We called ahead to ask if there was a dress code and were reassured there was not, but as we were settling in at our table, before we had removed our coats, a hostess asked one of our party to remove a hat. (A retired professor that was not poorly dressed) When we asked the manager why this happened he was patronizing and unpleasant and assumed we didn't understand proper etiquette in "fine dining". This is a hotel restaurant. One of the servers had hand tattoos, and many guests were wearing college sweatshirts. This is not a formal place. I don't want to go to a restaurant that criticizes the appearance of guests, but I can't ignore the racist energy of policing black men's clothes. (Again, this is a retired academic dressed fashionably) No one deserves to be made to feel this uncomfortable at a restaurant. read more

We had a couple bits of the cake and left most of it. The espresso martini tasted like the bottom of the coffee jug. I had an amazing experience at Bellini Providence! As someone who works in the hospitality industry and enjoys fine dining, including Michelin Star restaurants, I must say that my experience at Bellini Providence was exceptional. The restaurant has a classy ambiance, and I was impressed from the moment I walked in. Although I didn't have a reservation, the manager kindly accommodated me. Upon being seated at the table, I was warmly greeted by Lillian, attentive and professional server for the evening. To start off the evening, I opted for a refreshing Hendricks gimlet with a hint of mint, setting the stage for a delightful dining experience. For the first course, I savored a delicious Burrata salad paired with flavorful heirloom tomatoes. This was followed by a delightful Pinot Grigio with crisp and citrusy notes, perfectly complementing the subsequent course of octopus accompanied by a flavorful chickpea purée. While the octopus was slightly chewy, the accompanying sauce was incredibly flavorful and enhanced the overall dish. Moving on to the third course, I enjoyed exquisitely cooked scallops accompanied by a light and refreshing side salad, creating a perfectly balanced and satisfying meal. As a delightful accompaniment to the dinner, I selected a wine from one of my favorite wineries in Paso Robles, Daou, adding a perfect finishing touch to the evening. Overall, it was an impeccable dinner experience that left me thoroughly satisfied! As a lover of desserts, I couldn't pass up trying the pistachio and hazelnut gelato, and to my delight, Lillian also brought out an extra dessert, a complimentary Panna Cotta. Both desserts were amazing, and as a Pastry Chef, I couldn't decide which one I liked better. I'd say both. At the end, while I was leaving, Maître d' checked how was my experience, which I shared and said I'd love to give a 5 start on rest, so she was very nice to add me as a guest so I can leave a review. The restaurant is beautifully maintained, with every corner telling a great story. The ambiance and decor are stunning, and Bellini is a place that Providence needed. First time at Bellini's today to celebrate my bday. The atmosphere was beautiful. Very clean and crisp. Although this is a fine dining restaurant, it did not feel too stuffy and/or uncomfortable. We brought our 3 year old and the staff was very nice and accommodating. Hubby had the beef tartare and I had the burrata and prosciutto as an app. Hubby said it was the best he's had. My app was also delicious and light. For our main dish, hubby had the Tagliardi and I had the Tortelli. Again, both dishes were delicious and light, saving room for dessert. My son and I split the chocolate mousse, which was very creamy. It almost had a gelato consistency. The bartender went out of his way to make me a delicious grapefruit mocktail.
