Full length mirrors hanging from the ceiling and art all around

There's a really rich food culture in RI and CAV is one of them. The food , the art filled environment with statues from all around the world and great service are all things I really appreciate and to get this all under one roof was an awesome experience! I live in NYC so I m somewhat jaded by eating out in other cities because I don't feel like there's a comparison to our rich and diverse food culture. However, this place made me question my own thoughts! Big portions too. I'll definitely be back. Go here!!!

Kickin it off with the queer o meter. A solid 10 perfect for everyone, eat drink and be merry! We went for a Sunday brunch with a friend. None of had been there in a long time and the last visit was a dinner. We enjoyed it then and we got a refresher on why. The funky decor, friendly staff and great brunch choices ranging from soups to sandwiches to omelets and more. For drinks we got a rum runner, Bloody Mary and a a coffee martini. The rum and martini were excellent. The bloody? It wasn't great, it lacked the depth and complexity I like in a good bloody. Frankly that's my only con. See the pics for the food which was all perfect. And our server was top notch. Go check it out sometime for a change of scenery and great food! Cheers!

Unsure why my photos didn't post from last review but here they are. The brunch here is phenomenal. There's free street parking. Service is always amazing. The restaurant itself is very cool with lots of eclectic pieces of art.

Had such a yummy breakfast here and can't wait to go back again. I honestly think this is one of the best brunch spots, the atmosphere is so fun (lots to look at inside) and they have a little bit of everything. Almost everyone in our party got the eggs benedict (one of our favorites here) and it was truly a 10/10. I also got belgian waffles to share but we ate those so fast I couldn't even take a picture. I never really love getting iced coffees at restaurants I feel like it never tastes right but we got a huge iced caramel latte and it was amazing. It's a great spot for events (they have a private room you can book) has plenty of seating inside and also outdoor seating options.

Wow. What an amazing ambiance- loved the decor and antiques. Came here for brunch on a Sunday to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. Wait staff was very attentive . Drinks were very good. We got spiked pumpkin lattes and an expresso martini. We all enjoyed our meals very much. Had reservations at 11 and was done by noon. Only con was the one bathroom- constantly a line and a wait so that was a bit aggravating.

Kombu Salad,Black with orange blossom and Black Angus Half pounder with silver and gold margarita

The food was super fresh and delicious. Server was friendly, and accessible but not overbearing. The restaurant itself has a very eclectic cool vibe with chandeliers hanging throughout and antiques everywhere. We really enjoyed how the mirrors, sculpture, floor levels and windows all create a more intimate dining experience for each table. The want bread and whipped butter was nice starter. Point Judith calamari was lightly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Kombu salad and Angus burger were chef's kiss! Cocktails were tasty and much larger than expected.

We made a reservation here for our anniversary dinner. Inside the restaurant was eclectic, wasn't sure what to expect as we'd never been here before. But I liked it! Our server was Tom, he was great! Seems like he was serving every table on the Tuesday night but the service was still very good! We were chatting during dinner so it was nice to not have someone checking on you every 5 minutes and interrupting the conversation. I had a maple old fashioned that was very good. We got the tuna steak, bolognese, and a dinner salad. Everything was good! Serving sizes were perfect for us. We had the salted caramel gelato which was also very yummy! Would recommend visiting!

Loved CAV! Lively atmosphere with cool/funky/artsy vibe. Great service at the bar. Lobster parpadelle and swordfish ravioloi special were delicious. So many cocktails I wanted to try and nice wine list - will definitely be back!

I walked in with no reservations and they were able to sit me down on a packed Saturday night in less than 20 minutes. The service I received here was amazing and my experience was wonderful. The food and drinks were great and the ambiance of the place was very antique and very homey. Overall I would come back here anytime and recommend anyone else to try this place the service and food was amazing.

While we were visiting Providence, we made a later dinner reservation at CAV. The location is in a very quiet area and it sits back, nestled in a corner in between some buildings. The inside decor was very eclectic, but it all kind of comes together and was unique. Our server was great. We had lobster bisque and a Cesar salad to start. Then for our entrees my husband had the lobster pappardelle (so good) and I had the striped sea bass (pictured below) everything was cooked perfectly. The prices were reasonable as well. For dessert, the blackberry merlot sorbet had so much flavor and was delicious!!!

It is a beautiful restaurant with amazing collection of antiques, very friendly service and great ambiance. I liked the drinks. The scallops were outstanding! However, the sauce of ravioli was too sweet for me. I really liked the ravioli itself and the veggies, but the sauce was overly sweetened and didn't go well with the turnips and raviolis. If it was served without the sauce or even just some olive oil I'll love it more.

The space is a large modern hanger-style food court with a large bar station and plenty of seating in and outdoors on large patio. Wonderful for families and groups to gather around at long large tables. We found a table by the end by a large screen wall tv with sports on and comfy leather club chairs Great for drinks and talking. First stop, we stood at the bar and ordered our drinks ($14 cocktails). And got big glasses of ice water and headed to our table. We then we split up and everyone walked the hall looking at menus. We all ordered food and gave the restaurant a phone number and they'll text you when your items are ready, generally about 10 or 15 minutes depending on how busy things are. Then you go pick up your tray and head back to your table. Note... don't forget your phone like I did. It's a great opportunity for grazing. If you wanna try a little bit here and there. I chose to have Mediterranean food from TOLIA. Appetizer was a nice three dip Mediterranean plate with pita chips $15 that were crunchy and good. For my entrée, I selected the minced lamp, kebabs over eggplant with pita and an added extra cucumber yogurt dip $29. This was all very tasty And costs about $50 with tip. A bit pricey for a self serve if you ask me. But that's the way things are going on these days. It was a nice time sitting around and talking, but then it got very crowded and very noisy and people were hovering by 5:30 to take our tables and even asked if we were getting up soon. It was a cold chilly day, but the overflow folks were headed outside of the picnic tables, which seemed very cold to me, but on a warm day I would all be very nice. A note on parking, we parked in the adjacent parking garage right near behind Track 15 and get your ticket validated inside at wall kiosk by the door when Leaving. This will save you, so two hours cost about $8.95.

Looked at all of our options and I decided to go with Mexican from Dolores and my wife decided to go with Giusto PVD. I wish I had chosen Italian over Mexican. I've been dying to try Dolores so I opted to have three different tacos after asking the girl at the register if she would recommend their chicken sandwich over the tacos. She told me that everything was good so I went with the ribeye taco, the shrimp taco and the mushroom taco. The ribeye taco was fantastic. There was quite a bit of ribeye in it and the perfect amount of spice. The shrimp taco flavor and the mushroom taco was just spicy with a little flavor. I'd have to say the ribeye was the best taco and it definitely wasn't worth what I spent on them. My wife had an eggplant Parm sandwich and it was cooked perfectly, looked delicious and I wish I had gotten that. I really wanted to order a long Liv beer, but the bartender was talking to someone, I assume that they knew, as although I was only the second person in line I didn't get waited on for over 10 minutes. I ended up walking away to go get my food and just drank water. So my first experience here was not great, overall I'm pretty disappointed, but I'm going to go back and try again as there are a few other restaurants. I really do like the idea of being able to get dishes from different restaurants, pick your own seat and sit with other people at a community table. It's really nice inside and they had live music tonight, which would've been great if we wanted to stay. Next time I go back, I'm definitely having Italian, pizza and some falafel. The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.

I asked because nowadays tables are very close to one another. That request was not honored. We had a couple that was an arm's length from me and my husband. I'd definitely return and speak up if that ever happens again. There are many tables around the restaurant where you are not on-top of each of the other. I believe the section we were in may have been dubbed for anyone that got the 5 or 7 course prefix meal. If this is the case, they should consider giving their patron's more space. I would have given them 5 stars if it was not for this experience we had.

There's also parking you can pay for right on the corners, so there are different ways of finding a place to park. Taking an Uber would be a great idea as well, so you don't have to deal with anything and can drink as much as you want. They do not have valet. I went with the BLT since I wasn't feeling the vegan option. The description was "chili-hoisin glazed bacon | sliced tomato baby greens tomato jam | dill pickle pickled red onion chipotle aioli toasty thick-sliced white bread". Honestly, it was underwhelming. It had some tasty components but it was pretty average. The bacon was terribly weak. It was probably frozen precooked bacon that is heated and brushed with a hoisen glaze. I was hoping for some thick cut glazed almost candied bacon. Their avg. sandwich was around $16-17. If paying for that, I'd be left pretty disappointed. On top of that, it probably took around 35-40 minutes to get the sandwich. Again, pretty okay sandwich, the pickled onion, tomato jam and Chipotle aioli elevated things, but it's in vain with the bacon they use.
