First time dining at Fred. tonight with my Book Club. I really enjoyed the atmosphere- had a warm, inviting vibe with great music. Plenty of room for 6 (+ books ) and we could all hear the conversation and participate. The Menu was not enormous but offered some nice choices for everyone. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and the food arrived expeditiously. Speaking of food - everything was fresh and delicious. I enjoyed my salad with just the right amount of dressing and bursting with flavor. My favorite was the Bolo patty sandwich. Cooked perfectly and the kick of spice in the topping was amazing. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful restaurant on Broadway. Not good for big groups, mainly dinner for two due to its limited seating. Friendly, fast service. My friend and I decided to share plates. We ordered the chicken milanese, capellini, razor clams, and salt cod fritters. Everything was good! Well seasoned and easily sharable. I would definitely come back.

Yum!! Had an super delicious evening at Fred. We started with the focaccia and while the bread was good the bagna cauda dip was really what was amazing. Salty, savory, deliciousness. Highly recommend! The bolo burger was also five stars, I would certainly go back just to dig into that again. My friend was obsessed with the cod fritters, they reminded me of the ones my grandmother used to make (which were also super delicious). We also got the shrimp mozambique and the cannellini. Solid dishes all around. For dessert they make one dish a night and you can either take it or leave it. On our visit it was a coffee, chocolate cheesecake. My only feedback is we went in for a birthday celebration, it was noted on the reservation, and the fact that birthday gifts were opened. It would have been a cute touch to have a candle in the cheesecake. I look forward to my next visit!

Drinks were top notch as was the food! Sat at the bar on a solo date and will be back.

If you're cool enough, you can sit here and enjoy delicious vittles.

YOU GUYS. Broadway Bistro needed a hot minute to re-up some fire suppression and what-have-you, and decided "let's re-roll." Tuff story when you're all-world, but who better to trust with said decision? Owner and many staff remain, and Fred flexes the chest stronger and even more capably than Bistro, like King Kong with some Botox. The menu is tight but diverse; the drinks cover what you want, with enough offerings you'll ask a few questions. Daily specials have melt-in-your-mouth fish and meat specials, while the printed menu offers intriguing offerings across the board - grab a cucumber salad while you decide on mains, friend-o. No hesitation. Comparing...The seating is less cozy, more hip luxe diner. The music is less '90s Birkenstocks or Doc Martens emo - more '90s Adidas/Timbos (People Under the Stairs, Blackstar, Czarface, and Camp Lo say what's up). Furnishings aren't corner bistro, but are invitingly low-key dim and utterly sushi-clean. If you're still reading - WHY? GO. Then GO AGAIN. I'll be the guy in front of you reserving a table. Shoulda acted faster, sucka! No notes. Proves there ain't no such thing as halfway cooks.

Fred was a fond from a trusted friend. Fred seems to be a neighborhood gem of a restaurant. The restaurant is small to average in size with full bar. It looks new and sparkling clean. Fred is well staffed and they are attentive and knowledgeable. The food reminds you of a Tapas Restaurant, however there are plenty of choices, good portions, and the "price is right". Fred only offered one dessert ... different, very tasty. Fred

My absolute favorite spot. The menu is genuinely insane, but I always end up getting the burger (beef bolo) because it's that good. Fred is incredible, and the vibes are immaculate. Great music, amazing food, and a thoughtfully curated wine list with a Portuguese influence that really sets it apart. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed dinner here! Definitely need a reservation for a Friday night because it got pretty busy. Our waitress was the right balance of attentive but not overbearing. All of the food was delicious. My favorite dish was the duck confit bolo (which I forgot to get a picture of). The salads were also delicious!

First time in Fred. Definitely not our last. Cute cozy restaurant, friendly helpful staff. My husband can't have anything cooked in alcohol and our waitress went right to the chef to let us know exactly what was off limits. We appreciate it so much when a restaurant takes this so seriously. We shared 4 dishes. Starting with the Focaccia w/ red onion agrodolce - chewy, salty perfect bread paired so well with the sweet onions. We moved on to the charred cabbage and the beef patty bolo - both of which my husband and I are still talking about. The cabbage was charred perfectly & paired with pickled apples, Gorgonzola, walnuts and brown butter... I could have eaten another plate full! And the beef patty bolo - simple ingredients just done right - juicy, cheesy, a little spicy. Finished up with the chicken Milanese - thinly breaded and fried not greasy and so juicy with more cabbage and a side of tangy piri piri sauce. Since I can have alcohol I had the mezcal/passionfruit cocktail which was delicious. We can't wait to come back!

I came here with 4 friends on a Tuesday dinner which is honestly very nice because not a lot of places are open for Tuesday dinner! This restaurant is located in Federal Hill and I was very excited to try it. Unfortunately, I think the food is the reason I have to give this restaurant 3 stars (will get to it). Otherwise, drinks, decor, location, vibes, waitstaff were all amazing. For food, I think I was most disappointed by the high price but small portions (for example, you pay $8 for 1 slice of focaccia (see my pic below) and a dipping sauce). I was secondly most disappointed by how dry some of the food I had was - the salt cod fritters and the halibut cheek. I was expecting those to be juicy and flavorful and fresh like many seafood in PVD restaurants. They ended up being anything but - I was fighting to rip a piece off to chew for a few minutes :( Ultimately, I probably wouldn't come back for the value. Might come back if friends want to do drinks and small bites here, but don't think I'd spend a full dinner meal here.

Help me in welcoming the highly anticipated Fred! This was the ultimate culinary experience. My partner and I went in on opening night around 5:30pm and were warmly greeted by familiar faces that once were part of the Broadway Bistro team. The interior is spacious, bright, and has plenty of seating at both the bar and small & larger booths. As it was our first time, we knew we needed to try multiple things on the menu. I started my night off with La Limonada- super smooth, creamy, lightly sweetened by sweetened condensed milk, and perfectly balanced by the alcohol. Afterwards, we went in on a round of Sweet Fingerling Potatoes. We absolutely devoured them. They were gorgeously complex and unexpected yet familiar and comforting. The combination of fennel and hot honey made it a flavorful experience. We followed the potatoes with a Beef patty Bolo. Judging from the inexpensive price, I assumed it would be a small slider- but it turns out it was a regular sized burger! The beef was dipped in a tasty aioli, perfectly cooked, and the bun was soft and toasted. This was my favorite item on the menu and only $12! Though at this point I was full, I also shared a Chicken Milanese with my partner. The chicken had a perfectly crispy texture and mildly hot sauce on the side. It was stunning! We finished the night off with a light Pistachio cake made by Providence's jewel of a pastry chef, Parvin. It was the perfect complement to our foods, offering mildly sweet and airy textures and flavors. I couldn't be more thrilled this spot is finally open for business. Run, don't walk! And don't be afraid to treat yourself to multiple things on the menu! ;) Xo

Fred is an incredible new addition to Providence. The food and drinks were outstanding, the service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance was perfect and welcoming. A must-visit spot that already feels like a local favorite!

Nice place with chill neighborhood vibes. Busy for a Wednesday, glad we had a reservation. Ordered the focaccia, smoked carrots, sweet potatoes, Mozambique shrimp, chorizo and chicken Milanese. The focaccia, sweet potatoes and Milanese were standouts for me. Had the Sicilian soda cocktail which was just okay, but the bottle of Portuguese red wine we had was fantastic. Didn't have room for desert. Server was friendly and helpful. A super Solid experience all around. Glad we tried it but don't need to go back.

We were lucky that another patron decided they wanted a table versus the chef's seat at the counter. For us, this is the perfect place to sit because it lets you take in the whole experience. The ambiance was great. I had the same great Negroni as last time, but also had a new take on an Old Fashioned called the Dinner Jacket. Very yummy! Our server was very pleasant and attentive. We ordered the Kohlrabi Caesar and sesame focaccia again. It was as great as the first time. The focaccia is amazing. My wife ordered the Anolini for her entree, and I ordered the fabulous rack of lamb cooked in the wood-fired oven. It was simply amazing. We ended by splitting the warm apple tart. Everything was fabulous...my rating is the same. Go and enjoy yourself.

Luckily we did make reservation for early dinner so we were able to find parking right away. We got there early so the restaurant wasn't open yet. We took a walk around the Westminster for a bit until the place was open. We were sat down right away. Inside is cozy with dim lights and open kitchen and some tables. They have few outside seating available as well. We started with some appetizer raw fish and combo as well as kohlrabi Caesar. We got black bass and a seasonal fish with combo that included lightly roasted oysters, shrimp and squid. All seafood was directly sourced from local port and fresh. Seafood appetizer was delicious. The caesar was interesting. I've never had kohlrabi but it reminded me of radish and it was tasty. Personally i would have preferred little less salt and olive oil so that flavor of the raw ingredient stand out more but was not too bad. My entree was the seafood risotto. Flavorful risotto with some seafood on top. Was a bit messy to eat because of the shells but was flavorful. The crab and shellfish itself was small and a bit underwhelming but the rice was rich and full of fish flavor. My mother had the cacio e Pepe which was good but she said that nothing comparable to one she had in Rome. I was not a huge fan of the thicker pasta but that's just is personal preference. Service was excellent but the table was a bit small and tight as we were very close to the next table and can hear what others are talking about so not a very privately setting. Overall i did like the place. Food and service were good. But it was not anything exceeding expectation and there were few things that detracted from our experience such as heavy seasonings, small dining space and etc... The price is quite expensive for the amount of food they serve as well. I think it's a good place for special occasions.

The space is a large modern hanger-style food court with a large bar station and plenty of seating in and outdoors on large patio. Wonderful for families and groups to gather around at long large tables. We found a table by the end by a large screen wall tv with sports on and comfy leather club chairs Great for drinks and talking. First stop, we stood at the bar and ordered our drinks ($14 cocktails). And got big glasses of ice water and headed to our table. We then we split up and everyone walked the hall looking at menus. We all ordered food and gave the restaurant a phone number and they'll text you when your items are ready, generally about 10 or 15 minutes depending on how busy things are. Then you go pick up your tray and head back to your table. Note... don't forget your phone like I did. It's a great opportunity for grazing. If you wanna try a little bit here and there. I chose to have Mediterranean food from TOLIA. Appetizer was a nice three dip Mediterranean plate with pita chips $15 that were crunchy and good. For my entrée, I selected the minced lamp, kebabs over eggplant with pita and an added extra cucumber yogurt dip $29. This was all very tasty And costs about $50 with tip. A bit pricey for a self serve if you ask me. But that's the way things are going on these days. It was a nice time sitting around and talking, but then it got very crowded and very noisy and people were hovering by 5:30 to take our tables and even asked if we were getting up soon. It was a cold chilly day, but the overflow folks were headed outside of the picnic tables, which seemed very cold to me, but on a warm day I would all be very nice. A note on parking, we parked in the adjacent parking garage right near behind Track 15 and get your ticket validated inside at wall kiosk by the door when Leaving. This will save you, so two hours cost about $8.95.

Looked at all of our options and I decided to go with Mexican from Dolores and my wife decided to go with Giusto PVD. I wish I had chosen Italian over Mexican. I've been dying to try Dolores so I opted to have three different tacos after asking the girl at the register if she would recommend their chicken sandwich over the tacos. She told me that everything was good so I went with the ribeye taco, the shrimp taco and the mushroom taco. The ribeye taco was fantastic. There was quite a bit of ribeye in it and the perfect amount of spice. The shrimp taco flavor and the mushroom taco was just spicy with a little flavor. I'd have to say the ribeye was the best taco and it definitely wasn't worth what I spent on them. My wife had an eggplant Parm sandwich and it was cooked perfectly, looked delicious and I wish I had gotten that. I really wanted to order a long Liv beer, but the bartender was talking to someone, I assume that they knew, as although I was only the second person in line I didn't get waited on for over 10 minutes. I ended up walking away to go get my food and just drank water. So my first experience here was not great, overall I'm pretty disappointed, but I'm going to go back and try again as there are a few other restaurants. I really do like the idea of being able to get dishes from different restaurants, pick your own seat and sit with other people at a community table. It's really nice inside and they had live music tonight, which would've been great if we wanted to stay. Next time I go back, I'm definitely having Italian, pizza and some falafel. The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.

I usually come here to chitchat with friends and catch up for drinks, so I haven't gotten huge meals, but I've heard that the food is delicious, and I definitely will be coming back to try it. I did try their charcuterie board, and it's so delicious and filling, and perfect for picking at a little something while you have your delicious drinks. Location: This location is right in the heart of downtown PVD. This place definitely gives more business casual vibes, but you can definitely dress up to go on a date. Parking can be a little difficult because it's downtown, but you can always try to get street parking with a little walk. I honestly find parking down the street, and it's not that hard. There's also parking you can pay for right on the corners, so there are different ways of finding a place to park. Taking an Uber would be a great idea as well, so you don't have to deal with anything and can drink as much as you want. They do not have valet.
