Julian's is a really cool spot that I started going to years ago! The decor is super cool and they have an interesting menu that is good for different dietary restrictions. The cocktail menu is good too. I did order a cocktail and the server definitely forgot and then blamed the bar. Except it was early and the restaurant wasn't full and my drink was added on at the end of the bill, so i just wish they were honest about that. It's fine to forget but don't blame someone else. I had the veggie burger with sweet potato fries, the burger was a little dry but has good flavor. The fries were great. My friend had fish and chips, and the fish was good too.

The staff here is amazing. The bartender I had last night knew his stuff and was incredibly knowledgeable on all of the beer selections. He made me an amazing zero proof margarita as well. The food here is also good. My one complaint is my steak was slightly over done and a little dry which is why I had to remove a Star. My husband had the sweet potato gnocchi which was a good choice full of flavor and a nice portion size. We would definitely come back to try more on the menu when we are in the area ! The ambiance was chill and I appreciated the open kitchen concept ! Cool decor too !

Food - I ordered an egg white omelette with sausage, bacon, onions, bananas peppers & cheese, it came with home fries abs toast. It was a very big portion and very tasty! The home fries are seasoned so well, they are mashed with some chunks. I also orders the cranberry mimosas which was amazing and it packs a punch!! Service- super friendly, very attentive Ambiance- we sat at the bar which was cool. There's plenty of tables to sit but they do get busy very fast so I recommend going at opening!

Had another great breakfast at this place. Started with purple haze mimosa. I enjoyed the special omelette "3 Egg Omelette with Fried Chicken, Red Bell Pepper, Caramelized Onion, Pepper Jack with wheat toast." One word amazing! My friend got his usual the special hash and eggs "there home fries smashed together with Chorizo, Black Bean, Tomato, and eggs with Italian toast" the service was great and the place is very badass. Love the vibe from the art work on the building to the Death Star table, to the sign with my name on it! I will be back for the amazing food but the atmosphere is very cool!

A solid breakfast/brunch spot! The food was delicious! The service was so-so. It took a while for a server to come back to us. Also, we asked to be seated outside, which had 2 tables available. They said they couldn't do that because they were both being held, which is confusing because they don't take reservations and no one else was waiting for a table. I ordered the special French toast that day, which had strawberries and banana on it. I am allergic to banana, so I asked for just the strawberries. They instead charged me for the normal French toast and a side of strawberries, which came out as more expensive. Not a deal breaker but a little annoying. It's a good stop for brunch, definitely a crowd favorite (especially for dietary restrictions), but not perfect customer service.

We have a friend who drives all the way from NEW JERSEY to have breakfast at Julian's . First thing on the itinerary! Seeing friends and family is just an added bonus . This time around we had a friend who hasn't been here before and we had talk a lot of hype around this restaurant . We (party of 5) went around just before 10:30 on a Monday morning . Right before a wait time . We were sat almost immediately which is RARE ! Usually there is a wait and I will wait patiently . The staff moves at such a fast pace to keep up with demand and I'm impressed at how they do so . They are still attentive and informative when it comes to their menu . They offer a craft of water at each table so everyone has something to drink . Coffee is served in a branded mug and the waitstaff walks around with a pot filling whenever they can ( teamwork!) . One of our friends is Vegan and they have a good amount of options for her to choose from and even have modifications on menu items to make them Vegan . Our server pointed out some options and told her how the dish was prepared for the vegan mod . The Chicken and Waffles and Shakshuka are favorites of mine . This time around I got the bacon scallion pancakes topped with two Over Easy eggs . It was a regular American style pancake and it was such a great combination of sweet and savory . Savory being more forward . A couple of their cocktails caught my eye but I stuck with my coffee ( will probably get one next time ) . My fiance had the BLT on sourdough , it came with fries which I did steal a couple of. The table agreed that the portions are huge and they always satisfy . Needless to say the Hype didn't lie . Hopefully we created another regular at Julian's .

I haven't reviewed Julian's in an awhile. To be honest I just kind of forget because it's always consistent and services and people there are always awesome! let's get straight to the review . Bloody Mary (sorry no pic) If you love a spicy flavorful Bloody then you are in the right spot! .Eggs Benedict So yummy! Perfectly poached eggs with a great tasty ham and soft but nicely toasted Italian bread. Great side of tasty home fries! . Overall If you love a place that has really awesome food this is the place for you! I just want to thank all the staff there for making what this awesome place is!!

My fave thing about Julian's is the brunch mimosa options. I like that the menu changes. It's artsy, quirky, and welcoming - a true "Providence style" restaurant.

Food is good! Just wanted to add a note that the wait time was significantly longer than expected (which usually wouldn't bother me but it was like an extra 30 min in the cold) and the tables seemed more cramped this time around (so also a little loud). Still totally worth stopping by- a Providence landmark!

The host was very welcoming. Even with a wait, the staff checks in on all parties and all patrons could order drinks from the bar to enjoy ahead of receiving their table. The menu was varied and offered good options for both meat eaters and vegans. The outdoor seating is a good option in the nice weather. Food came out quickly and was quite good. I had the traditional benedict and my friend had the tofu scramble, both were delicious.

Was in town for a day and searched for a place where is Dog friendly with AMAZING food. After seeing pictures and reviews from Yelpers i Have decided to give it a try. It was on a Chill Friday afternoon. Easy street parking. Nice weather and restaurant was semi busy. 5 tables outside and perfect for dogs to sit and enjoy the view. The Restaurant offered water in a dog bowl. Hubby and I ordered the most Requested Dish , Chicken and waffles, and i got a Simple omelette but the Hash is whats Known for. The price is above $20 but the Dish is pretty generous (can skip lunch as it will fill you up). Staffs were friendly but busy running around. Bathroom is SUPER entertaining with Tons of PEZ Collections.

Restaurant opened right at 9 with a line out the door! Everyone was able to pick the seat they wanted with the staff tending to everyone. Wicked cool interior inspired by bands and movies. The food. The chicken and waffles drew the attention of everyone in the place, probably the biggest piece of chicken I've seen in a long time served with 3 huge waffles. Definitely bang for your buck, the chicken was flavorful crispy and no grease at all! The French toast was another favorite at the table was not wet and soggy but had an excellent crispy! The other fave was the hash by far! Cool inclusion of a variety of drinks including a CBD drink that one of my friends loved. If you are in the area grab a table or a seat at the bar you'll love it here

Are there people that don't like this place? What's wrong with them? Here are a few reasons this place rocks: 1. Excellent service. Shout out to Chelsea behind the bar for being attentive and cool and making great recommendations. 2. The special BBQ rib bowl at brunch. This is an enormous bomb of deliciousness, and I ate every single bit, against my best judgment. Just a phenomenal way to start my day (and necessitate a nap). 3. The general vibe. Chill. Fun. A little punk. 4. The wild toy collections in the bathroom. There's a LOT of pez dispensers and action figures in there, and it's way better decor than basically any other bathroom decor. I also hear the cocktails are great, but I was technically working and it was the morning, so I didn't get the pleasure. Next time.

    New art work!

The two met when they both worked at a brewery in Honolulu. Once returning to Rhode Island, the couple decided to open their own gastropub in Stephanie's hometown of Westerly. Dubbed "The Malted Barley", the business focused on craft beer paired with gourmet pretzel sandwiches. The pretzel dough is made fresh daily, and every pretzel is rolled and stuffed by hand. After much success, the Bennetts looked to franchise their business model. After signing a licensing agreement with investor Ron Koller, a second Malted Barley opened in Providence in March 2016. In March 2023, the Bennetts closed the original Malted Barley in Westerly so that they could focus on their flower farm, Echo Rock Flowers, as well as their family. The Malted Barley in Providence continues to run under the ownership of Ron Koller. I visited the original Westerly location of the Malted Barley in 2014 while I was on a craft beer bus tour. I was so impressed with their excellent craft beer selection and delicious gourmet pretzels that I decided to make the gastropub a stop on my craft beer bachelor party bus tour three years later. I was very sad when I heard that the original location closed down, but I took comfort in knowing that a second location still existed in Providence. I recently visited the Providence location for lunch while I was passing through the area. When I walked in, I immediately smelled the freshly baked pretzels. For food, I ordered the "Barley Bacon Beast Burger" (75 % beef 25 % bacon patty, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, more bacon w/ a side of ketchup) on an Everything Pretzel. It really hit the spot. I must add that these pretzels are essentially a hybrid between traditional Bavarian pretzels and New York-style bagels: salty and crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. While looking over the beer menu, I was surprised to see that the Malted Barley now brews their own house beer in addition to guest taps. I ordered a taster flight that featured Malted Barley's "Banana Bread" (Traditional Ale) and "Monster Juice" (Hazy IPA), as well as Long Live Beerworks' "Invisible IPA" (hazy IPA) and Phantom Farms Brewing's "Coarse Woody Debris" (Saison). All of the beers were very refreshing and paired nicely with my pretzel sandwich. I still miss the original Westerly location, but it's nice to know that you can still find delicious pretzels sandwiches paired with craft beer just a little further away.

Anyways, I wish I was able to chill a bit and have a drink cause their tap list was on point. Check out my pic. The grilled cheese was super delicious. It's about a 5 minute walk down Fountain Street from the permanent Trinity. It opened during the pandemic, and for a couple years was the only place I would ever go out to for a drink. But even now that I've been back to going out for a while, I can say that this is still actually my favorite place for a drink, of all the many bars and breweries in and around PVD. Why? Because it's simple. You get a beer, you sit under the trees while the city moves around you, you drink. Simple. Maybe you go get another beer, or bring some takeout from somewhere. Simple. What is not simple or needed is "comedy" shows, bad bands, mediocre DJs with speakers that could handle lollapalooza. I also wish they would open in May, when the weather is fine for beer gardens, instead of waiting until June. It would be great to have a focus on keeping the beer selection decent (for a long stretch last year they had no IPAs) and opening on a regular/predictable schedule, and food from some of the great ethic places around rather than the frozen deep-fried overpriced apps of a middling hotel bar. I think, over time, that is what gets you more customers versus programming that has more volume than talent.

Service was fabulously friendly & competent - the bartender handling the packed house with ease. We decided to go with an array of small plates to try as much as possible. The menu it designed perfectly for grazing & the prices are super reasonable! The selections are definitely on the comfort-food side with a strong southern hint. Ingredients are often locally sourced - something I greatly admire. We began with the a small plate of Pimento Cheese Toast. Just a few bites each but a nice start. Duck Drumettes. The horseradish-y white sauce was delectable! Even my non-duck loving partner was blown away. I was happy to hear that the salad was available in a half portion - enough for a light fresh break to our heavy selections. Next came a much heavier choice - the gravy fries with duck confit. We left off the cheese, but it wasn't missed at all. These were decadent, delicious & super filling! Next time we'd get a half portion - that would have been plenty! Our final dish was the Shrimp & Grits, but we'd already filled up on the other dishes & ended up asking for this to go. Even reheated, it was a perfectly delicious accompaniment to our brunch the next day! I'd be tempted to order this to-go again for just that purpose. While we didn't imbibe, the cocktail list looked wonderful & the bar was very well stocked. We did enjoy a nice selection from the interesting beer list. The sandwiches that we saw come out looked delicious & huge! We'd love to try them as well. We will be back - this is certainly a new favorite for us!
