Julian's is a fantastic breakfast spot. We got there around 9:40 and the place was busy. Hostess offered to bring drinks to you outside while we waited. A couple of bloody mary's and it is no issue to wait! When seated, looked at the menu online. Got the sausage and salsa hash. Their hashes are truly unique and an amazing twist on breakfast. Love Julian's! I've been coming here for about 20 years and I love everything about this place! They are known for their brunch (delicious Shakshuka)- they can get very busy so expect a wait. Julian's is a really cool spot that I started going to years ago! The decor is super cool and they have an interesting menu that is good for different dietary restrictions. The cocktail menu is good too. I did order a cocktail and the server definitely forgot and then blamed the bar. Except it was early and the restaurant wasn't full and my drink was added on at the end of the bill, so i just wish they were honest about that. It's fine to forget but don't blame someone else. The staff here is amazing. The bartender I had last night knew his stuff and was incredibly knowledgeable on all of the beer selections. He made me an amazing zero proof margarita as well. The food here is also good. My one complaint is my steak was slightly over done and a little dry which is why I had to remove a Star. My husband had the sweet potato gnocchi which was a good choice full of flavor and a nice portion size. We would definitely come back to try more on the menu when we are in the area ! Food - I ordered an egg white omelette with sausage, bacon, onions, bananas peppers & cheese, it came with home fries abs toast. It was a very big portion and very tasty! The home fries are seasoned so well, they are mashed with some chunks. I also orders the cranberry mimosas which was amazing and it packs a punch!! Had another great breakfast at this place. Started with purple haze mimosa. I enjoyed the special omelette "3 Egg Omelette with Fried Chicken, Red Bell Pepper, Caramelized Onion, Pepper Jack with wheat toast." One word amazing! My friend got his usual the special hash and eggs "there home fries smashed together with Chorizo, Black Bean, Tomato, and eggs with Italian toast" the service was great and the place is very badass. A solid breakfast/brunch spot! The food was delicious! The service was so-so. It took a while for a server to come back to us. Also, we asked to be seated outside, which had 2 tables available. They said they couldn't do that because they were both being held, which is confusing because they don't take reservations and no one else was waiting for a table. I ordered the special French toast that day, which had strawberries and banana on it. I am allergic to banana, so I asked for just the strawberries. They instead charged me for the normal French toast and a side of strawberries, which came out as more expensive. Not a deal breaker but a little annoying. It's a good stop for brunch, definitely a crowd favorite (especially for dietary restrictions), but not perfect customer service. read more

We have a friend who drives all the way from NEW JERSEY to have breakfast at Julian's . First thing on the itinerary! Seeing friends and family is just an added bonus . This time around we had a friend who hasn't been here before and we had talk a lot of hype around this restaurant . We (party of 5) went around just before 10:30 on a Monday morning . Right before a wait time . We were sat almost immediately which is RARE ! Usually there is a wait and I will wait patiently . The staff moves at such a fast pace to keep up with demand and I'm impressed at how they do so . They are still attentive and informative when it comes to their menu . They offer a craft of water at each table so everyone has something to drink . Coffee is served in a branded mug and the waitstaff walks around with a pot filling whenever they can ( teamwork!) . One of our friends is Vegan and they have a good amount of options for her to choose from and even have modifications on menu items to make them Vegan . Our server pointed out some options and told her how the dish was prepared for the vegan mod . The Chicken and Waffles and Shakshuka are favorites of mine . This time around I got the bacon scallion pancakes topped with two Over Easy eggs . It was a regular American style pancake and it was such a great combination of sweet and savory . Savory being more forward . A couple of their cocktails caught my eye but I stuck with my coffee ( will probably get one next time ) . My fiance had the BLT on sourdough , it came with fries which I did steal a couple of. The table agreed that the portions are huge and they always satisfy . Needless to say the Hype didn't lie . It was on a Chill Friday afternoon. Easy street parking. Nice weather and restaurant was semi busy. 5 tables outside and perfect for dogs to sit and enjoy the view. The Restaurant offered water in a dog bowl. Hubby and I ordered the most Requested Dish , Chicken and waffles, and i got a Simple omelette but the Hash is whats Known for. The price is above $20 but the Dish is pretty generous (can skip lunch as it will fill you up). Staffs were friendly but busy running around. Restaurant opened right at 9 with a line out the door! Everyone was able to pick the seat they wanted with the staff tending to everyone. Wicked cool interior inspired by bands and movies. The food. The chicken and waffles drew the attention of everyone in the place, probably the biggest piece of chicken I've seen in a long time served with 3 huge waffles. Definitely bang for your buck, the chicken was flavorful crispy and no grease at all! The French toast was another favorite at the table was not wet and soggy but had an excellent crispy! Stopped by here for breakfast on a Monday as for some reason no restaurants want to be open on a Monday in Providence. Luckily this was the only spot, but unfortunately that means there's going to be a line and a decent waiting time. We got here around opening hour so we were able to be seated immediately. The inside is quite edgy and they have some of the most random collection of statues and action figures, include an entire collection in the bathroom with cartoon playing in the background. I'm still not sure what the theme is here, but at least the food tastes great! Service is fantastic as well. They're all wear black to match the edgy theme. I guess they're supposed to look like they're in the band KISS? I ordered the Special Hash & Eggs (23), which is Homefries smashed together with Ham, Red Onion, Tomato and Pepper Jack Cheese. I'm continuously satisfied with the food (new items added each time I visit), and the service. This spot is always packed on the weekend with a 30-40 minute wait. However, you can get started on drinks while you wait, and they will bring it to you outside and add it to your bill. No hassle and a quasi start to getting your dining started! It was a nice surprise to see new art work on the walls that you can see in the pics. It adds a nice vibe to the spot and something new to look at. There is street parking only, so you should start looking 1-2 blocks away from the establishment. Also, there is only one bathroom stall and the line can get long. I got an omelet with broccoli, spinach and American and it was $20- there were 2 pieces of broccoli and 4 pieces of spinach in the entire thing-insane I spent $3 for that. I was very excited to try Julian's because of the glowing reviews! I stopped by on a Sunday morning for brunch. There was a 30-minute wait, but it went by quickly. We started off brunch with a carafe of mango mimosas that were delicious--very refreshing and light. I ordered the shakshuka, which came out steaming hot and was absolutely delicious! My garlic bread was a little burnt, giving it a bitter taste, but the tomato stew was divine. Their house hash is also delicious! Pro tip: eat it with their house-made ketchup! A friend got the chicken and waffles, and I was able to try some of that as well; it was yummy too! The portions are pretty big, just what I needed to stay warm in this cold weather. Pretty decent brunch place that I frequent with my friends! Ambience is dark, moody, hip, almost like a dive bar but for brunch (I suppose they are open at other times too but I've only been for brunch!). I've tried a number of things on the menu and there's just one that I always gravitate towards and it's the shakshuka. Their shakshuka is very flavorful and filled with lots of veggies. The garlic bread to pair is also great, occasionally more on the burnt side. One thing that I'm not as big of a fan of are the potatoes, which is surprising because I usually really love potatoes! Their breakfast potatoes come in a hash which is not as flavorful as you'd expect and also loses out on texture. Some of the items on their menu can also be a bit over priced, so make sure to take a look when ordering. For example, you have to pay double if you want two eggs benedicts, where the norm at other brunch establishments is once price for two eggs benedicts - so just be mindful! I would come back to eat if my friends are interested because there's a reliably good item I can go to, but not sure I would choose to go here myself read more

Came here with a friend on a Saturday morning and they don't miss with their food! We left around 1030 and there was a line waiting to get seated so get there early! There's always money in the banana stand! I had this Baileys infused iced coffee and it was delicious! And if it didn't make everything OK, the bathroom with the videos playing and pez dispenser collector wall sure did! Oh, the food was cool too. I had a nice blueberry and banana compote French toast and the special hash (hash brown with sausage and peppers) and eggs dish. It all tasted good and was a huge portion that got me stuffed quickly. I also appreciated the wide array of music they played. If you stay long enough you will eventually here a music genre of your liking. Julians is a hip dive-vibe restaurant with an interesting twist on the classic brunch menu. I've visited a few times and have been less impressed by the pricing or the service, but I finally found the assortment of food items that I would return for. The special hash was perfectly seasoned and complemented by buttered Italian bread dipped in some runny yolks. The BBQ bowl was also fantastic and the ribs tasted smoky and peppery leaving nothing else desired. Not pictured below is their black coffee which was okay. Mediocre brunch for a very highly rated place! We were a party of 4 adults, 2 infants. The host quoted a wait time of ~30 mins but got us seated fairly quick. They even accommodated us on a big table to allow enough place for the strollers. For brunch, we ordered eggs Benedict, smoked salmon Omlette, chicken wrap and a vegan burger. All the food was served with a side of potatoes. The smoked salmon was fully cooked rather than smoked. The food overall is pretty average. The service was quick and nice. They also mentioned plans of expansion - so, I'm sure they'll be able to streamline the restaurant traffic a bit better. read more

Drove right by it the first time, found easy parking right in front, not a lot of people having breakfast on a Wednesday at 10 AM. Walking in it looks like a dingy bar with lots of 1990s themed toys and music. I thought the music was a little bit loud given how small the space is, but the staff handed you a napkin before you had to ask, filled my coffee before I had to ask, diverse menu choices, and the coffee was really good. My only real issue was how uncomfortable the seating was. I would've loved to have had something a little more supportive for my back, but as I looked around, everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal whether they were at a table or sitting at the bar. The in-house homemade ketchup was a nice touch, although it was in a mustard bottle so that threw my pallet off a bit. I had a hash bowl and my guest had the fried chicken and waffles. On the way to a Providence Bruins game, met up with a friend and we got there right when the doors opened. I parked close to the arena. The restaurant is half a mile away. Parking is available on the street. I arrived and waited outside. Quiet and menus in hand, choices to be made. I chose the steak frites, cider as my beverage. Quiet enough to hear the other.
