Saint Martha keeps crushing it! They are consistently top-notch creating dishes with multiple layers of delightful flavors and an imaginative cocktail menu. These people care - a lot - about welcoming people to enjoy the experience; it was so sweet to be greeted with a personalized Happy Birthday menu. Green crab pasta and an epically tender, moist, and flavorful pork chop were the stars on the table. This is the type of place you can visit frequently because the seasonal menu offers surprises and it is consistently a lovely place to eat.

Amazing dining experience. The welcoming staff, the lovingly prepared and inventive dishes and the cozy atmosphere. We took a chance and called the restaurant to see if they could accommodate us. We immediately got a call back and the owner Corrine saved us 2 seats at the bar. I love bar seating! Gwen our bartender and server greeted us with complimentary sparking water!! More restaurants should offer this. Then I see they had a Lambrusco by the glass...a rarity. So cold and deliciously sparkling. The menu is quite varied that it was difficult deciding what to try. We started with the Schiacciata and shared the Caesar salad. The best Caesar salad I ever had. As we were sharing it I noticed that Esme brought over 2 spoons before the salad was served. First time I didn't have to ask when sharing a salad. A small gesture for a restaurant but it spoke volumes. The vibe throughout the restaurant was so convivial and everyone felt like a treasured guest at a dear friend's for dinner. Then it was on to the next course...I had the White Lamb Ragu with house made Papparadelle. Do not miss this dish if you are a lamb lover like me. It melted in your mouth and the flavor profile was out of this world. My friend ordered the Lamb and beef meatballs and the crispy potatoes and it was stupendous. We finished the meal with the delicious Basque Cheesecake. Altogether the finest dining experience from service to food to price point!! Go!!

Excellent food. We went there close to closing and they were very welcoming. We shared a pea dip then I had the scallop appetizer and husband had a simple salad. All were delicious. I agree with all the previous yelp reviews. It's pricey but the food is very good.

Wow. It was so exceptional here that we came two nights in a row. Food was out of this world. Loved the cozy atmosphere. Service was great too. For apps, get the perfectly cooked scallops on a tasty parsnip puree. You MUST also get the meatballs...my husband's family is Italian so we would never order meatballs when going out...but these were SO delicious. The pasta dishes were top notch. Fettuccine with artichoke is such an awesome combo. The ragu easily competes with our favorites at Al Forno and Persimmon. The ravioli had such depth of flavor. Our favorite meat dish was the duck. I could go on and on - the chef deserves a James Beard nomination, thank god he made it to R.I. Don't miss on desserts. We loved the mocktails and house made sodas too!

Ok--- so please read this to understand the 5 stars. They have a limited menu--- so review it first as you will not be happy if you expect more options in specials etc. Do not expect typical beverage options--- there is no Grey Goose, Tito's, typical wine brands and etc. so if you need your grey goose martini to make your dinner this is not the place for you. However, it is Just such a special place that is beaming with great service, quaint atmosphere, and some of the most brilliantly cooked food. You have to be open minded and enjoy the vibe. The staff are like a warm hug when you walk in. It is kind of like walking into one of your cool friends house of dinner--- everything may not be perfect but they do everything to make it special for you. Menu is different in eclectic. The duck was absolutely a combination of textures and flavors you never thought you would like. I don't eat duck--- but this night I kept asking my fiancé for another bite. They offer complimentary sparking water or still. How stinking cool is that? In a time when restaurants charge for everything they found a way to give it patrons something to make them feel special. Yes sparking water did it for me. I had the Rabbit pasta dish. I was so inspired I thought I would step outside of my comfort zone. My fiancé loved it--- but I just couldn't get beyond the mental block I was eating Rabbit. Drinks were great, prices reasonable for quality of food, service just outstanding. So 5 stars--- but if require a lot of traditional food selections, and your go to brand of liquor it will not be the place for you.

This was the pork. It was accompanied by sweet potato, cabbage and a healthy amount of a killer green sauce. The sauce!

First time! We sat at the bar. There was a cool crowd. The menu is seasonal, highlighting local ingredients, with plates for a three course meal, we obliged! We started with the caesar salad, it was perfectly overdressed, with fresh toasted croutons. They gifted us the bread and butter. Order this! Both were homemade, the butter was sprinkled with a crispy, fancy cheese. Second course, meatballs, they were lamb and they were delicious, dressed with local mushrooms and mint, and the homemade gnocchi dish. Third course, we probably didn't need two mains, but we couldn't decide between the the pork shoulder and the rabbit stew. The rabbit stew was hot, temperature hot, so we started with the pork. The pork was fantastic, served with sweet potatoes and cabbage, topped with an addictive green sauce, we cleared plate! Back to the rabbit strew, yum, more local mushrooms! But we were so full, we packed the rest for leftovers. We took a break eating and admired the space, the chef, said hello and we chatted; they sourced the stained glass from NH, the the sconces from a VFW, the plates and barware were handpicked and secondhand, from bone china to leopard print. We were so full, but we had to try the chocolate cake. It was special too, with red jelly and figs. We left happy. We even ate the leftovers, and we never eat leftovers. Can't wait to go back.

The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, with sexy, low mood lighting, trendy flower decor on the tables, even quirky and fun wallpaper in the bathrooms. The cocktail list is unique and has a little something for everyone. My drink had notes of rose which I found so different and delightful, though I ordered mine without egg white in it since I can't quite get into that cocktail ingredient trend. Everyone I've brought here has enjoyed their drink - glassware is pretty and photogenic but I do feel the portions are on the smaller side. What a great, "vibey" little spot to take a date, a friend on a bar crawl or quick afternoon catch up, and so on! Lots of other great stops in this plaza too, you could make a whole day out of this area without ever having to move your car. I feel I've traveled somewhere far away and a little exotic when I come here - a class act that hasn't let me down yet.

We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.

They have a daily menu, and I've had some friends suggest this place as their favorite restaurant. We parked blocks away due to the lack of adequate parking. Once we walked in, we were greeted with pleasant smiles from the staff. The menu was short, which we attributed to a focus on quality. We ordered a French onion dip and a littleneck entree as an app for the table. We were served with lukewarm water, neither cold nor hot. The apostle John might have been somewhat disappointed (Rev 3:16). The dip was decent but was somewhat lacking in great onion flavor. But nothing to complain about. The little necks were served in a small bowl and lacked a bit of salt. Rather pricey for $26, but this place charges $6 just for bread and butter, so maybe it's just inflation? Enter the entrees. They apparently were short on chicken legs so they asked to substitute chicken breast. Two of us got burgers. First the $20 burgers, which were served with an aioli with no offer of ketchup or other condiments. In short, both burgers were terrible. Far worse than we make at home. It's always a disappointment when you realize you're paying all this extra for food you can make better at home. The buns were shockingly flat, like someone smashed them by hand. Or in a McDonald's box. Come to think of it, the flavor was similar, though overall the hamburger was somewhat bitter, salty and lacked an appetizing flavor. Wow. We all agreed they were terrible. The fries were also burnt and over salted. My daughter quit on her $30 chicken, so I tried it. The sauce wasn't bad, and it was served with a decent brocollini. But the chicken was some of the driest I've had in a restaurant, with no crisp skin and a uniformly poor texture. No wonder no one finished their entrees. And I hate wasting food. So, as much as we would have wanted to give this place a great rating, we just won't be back. The service, although with a smile, was slow and terrible. Our candle burnt out in the middle of dinner. It was never relit. Our glasses were empty halfway through dinner. No refills on the tepid water. The entrees took an hour and a half before they came out (we were warned the chicken could take 30 min). Generally a very disappointing experience. Hard to explain the rave reviews but our Saturday dinner was a sad bust. The cold wet madeleines they provided in a doggie bag didn't do anything to help. Oh well. Hope y'all have a better experience if you go here.

We were having a lovely dinner in Warren and stopped into Bywater for a quick after-dinner drink. It was a bit cooler out but since they had no seats in the extremely limited bar area, we took the plunge and sat outside near their fire pits. They did not have many wines to choose from BTG which was disappointing. The one I had which was Cinsault was just ok. I had to dump out most of it since I did not enjoy it but that was my fault since sampling it I thought I liked it. My friend had the bartender make her a cocktail with grapefruit since they did not have pineapple. She was looking for a French martini but seemed to enjoy what they made her. My husband's espresso martini was very good I thought and light but could've used some bailey's. We already had dessert so we did not plan on anything else but I know I am interested in returning for dinner. The restaurant is very small inside but I loved the warm lights and decor. It was a very sexy and attractive vibe! If you are ever in Warren I highly recommend coming here for either drinks, dinner, or both. Dress warm if you plan on heading outside to sit near the fire...it does not give off that much heat! Cheers!

But upon tasting their food, it was clear, 'Viola' is just another Americanized Italian restaurant. We started with an a la carte order of: 'House made focaccia, roasted garlic spread, evoo, craft butter' This was fresh and tasty. We then shared the 'Caesar: traditional romaine hearts, foccaccia croutons, shaved pecorino cheese. classic caesar dressing.' This lacked any flavour, the romaine was cut into too small pieces, there was no hint of garlic or anchovy in the dressing. But the most disappointing dishes were the pasta dishes: 'Fettucini bolognese, house made, beef, pork, veal ragu, pecorino, basil, calabrian Chili.' 'Scampi viola, squid ink linguini, shrimp garlic, white wine, julienned vegetables, preserved lemon butter.' Although the pastas were freshly made, their textures were compromised; both pasta dishes were not 'al dente'. In fact the Scampi viola was drenched in a dark gravy and greasy. This is just not a very skilled preparation of pasta. A fresh pasta needs very little sauce, and should be dressed very simply so the 'textures' can be enjoyed. I ordered the: 'Zuppa di vongole: fresh little neck clams, vino biqnco, fresh herbs, crostini.' But this dish was replaced by a fried calamari dish. This was well prepared, actually the only star of the evening. This restaurant may succeed on its 'blandness' but will never attract the discerning diner who wants and appreciates authentic Italian cuisine. ~tiaotse~
