I always love to come here, but their happy hour is the best time to go! The deals are off the charts! Service is always great. Food is delicious. Cocktails are yummy. Both the indoor and outdoor seating is adorable. It has a lot of charm!

The outside patio seating on a sunny day is amazing especially with a nice cocktail which they have plenty of. Make sure to get there early for happy hour bc it ends at 5pm. The clam chowder is so good too and a huge portion. We look forward to coming back in the summer time.

I've been here twice the last time for Mother's Day. The staff are great! The food is awesome, the drinks are beautiful and the historic ambiance of the building is lovely!! This will become a regular for us!!

Waterdog is a quaint lil' eatery located in a restored 18th century house. It feels like you're eating in someone's very cozy, very large, very New England home. Each room is different (different furniture, different wallpaper, different decorations, different vibe, etc.) & there's a lot to look at. The menu is very imaginative, with lots of variety, which makes it sting even stronger that there are so few gluten-free options. They're known for their hot dogs & lobster roll, & neither of which have a gluten-free bun option. Their brunch dishes are all very carb/gluten heavy as well. No options for substitutions. Not having gluten-free buns in 2025 is basically criminal. The service is always really friendly & helpful. One time, our server told us that they were totally in the weeds & that service might be slow, but we barely noticed. They handled the weeds like a total professional. Waterdog is a great spot - cozy & eclectic with delicious food to match. I just wish they would offer some gluten-free alternatives on their menu.

Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, inside was booked up but we got to sit outside which was nice! The cocktails were good! We got the jungle booby and sunrise sour, would recommend! For lunch we both ordered off the brunch menu (served until 2pm on the weekends) and got the dirty poutine and morning tacos. Both were yummy and good portions for us. Would come back to try other drink and try some apps and mains from the regular menu. Our waitress was very friendly and service was pretty quick! The restaurant is also in a very cute area and Warren is a great little town to explore!

Waterdog is definitely a fusion based food menu. Seems to have something for everyone who is into something that is elevated from the basic. Lots of Portuguese influence but plenty of crowd favorites. The cauliflower was some of the best I had, the both sets of tacos were great just dripping wet of sauce. Lots of people with drinks that they seemed to enjoy as well. Always busy when they go in but the servers and bartenders are always friendly. Definitely a spot that stands out from the crowd

Super warm and cozy vibe! The building must be a historic home or something because the architecture is super unique. The food was delicious and came out quickly- we both got the burger and fries. My rating is more like a 4.5 with the deduction being that no one came back to check on us or refill water until we asked someone passing by. The people were all nice, but it took a while to get our check back and our waters refilled etc. Cool (and warm) place to grab a good bite.

What an absolute bummer. We went to Waterdog for the first time on a beautiful fall day when their outdoor seating area was open. We weren't in a hurry and were excited to try this lovely restaurant in Warren. Their menu looks great but the service was so beyond terrible I can't even make an excuse for it. Here's the thing. Kitchen's get backed up, life happens and sometimes food just doesn't come out in a timely manner. But it's all in the way you handle it. You don't leave people sitting in the hot sun with nothing to drink for an hour, with a server who is curt. You send a manager out to multiple tables to say hey, let's make sure you have something to drink, here's an update, we care about your experience. Over an hour and we never ate and ultimately had to leave, which is the first time in my life that's ever happened. Overall it was handled quite poorly and it's not a place I would go back to, I'm sorry to say.

Been coming to this place for cocktails and apps for years and it's always delightful. Fresh, inventive cocktails, can't beat the half off "Appy" hour for apps. Mini stuffies are perfect! Have never been for dinner but the ambiance is wonderful, it's in a historic home and is very cozy in winter. Great service!

I've been here for brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks -- all great experiences. Speciality cocktails are always amazing and service is attentive and friendly. The ambiance is great in the winter with the fire place upstairs or the outside seating area.

Fish and chips: the fish and chips dish was really tasty! I love how they let you choose between baked or fried fish. I opted for the baked fish which was flaky and tender. The chips were very good, although they would benefit from more crisp. The tartar sauce was a great classic addition. Wings: the garlic wings were very good, although the skin was a little tough. The flavor was there however! The bread was a great addition to soak up the sauce. Octopus appetizer: this is always a favorite when we come here. They do a fantastic job with this dish and is the 5/5 of the night. The ambiance of waterdog is always a highlight! The darkness paired with the lights of candles and warmth of the home-feel is very unique to this restaurant.

There are many different types of seating - bar, high top tables, benches, regular tables, and a cute and comfy corner booth with throw pillows, which is where we opted to sit. Service was excellent. I was expecting to have to order at the bar, but Stingy Alley has table service. My husband ordered the espresso martini and I went with the Dubai chocolate martini. Both were outstanding - I could easily have tried a few more of the dessert cocktails, but alas we had a 40 minute drive home so that will have to wait for another visit. Will definitely come back to Stingy Alley - thanks for a lovely end to our night!

They have a daily menu, and I've had some friends suggest this place as their favorite restaurant. We parked blocks away due to the lack of adequate parking. Once we walked in, we were greeted with pleasant smiles from the staff. The menu was short, which we attributed to a focus on quality. We ordered a French onion dip and a littleneck entree as an app for the table. We were served with lukewarm water, neither cold nor hot. The apostle John might have been somewhat disappointed (Rev 3:16). The dip was decent but was somewhat lacking in great onion flavor. But nothing to complain about. The little necks were served in a small bowl and lacked a bit of salt. Rather pricey for $26, but this place charges $6 just for bread and butter, so maybe it's just inflation? Enter the entrees. They apparently were short on chicken legs so they asked to substitute chicken breast. Two of us got burgers. First the $20 burgers, which were served with an aioli with no offer of ketchup or other condiments. In short, both burgers were terrible. Far worse than we make at home. It's always a disappointment when you realize you're paying all this extra for food you can make better at home. The buns were shockingly flat, like someone smashed them by hand. Or in a McDonald's box. Come to think of it, the flavor was similar, though overall the hamburger was somewhat bitter, salty and lacked an appetizing flavor. Wow. We all agreed they were terrible. The fries were also burnt and over salted. My daughter quit on her $30 chicken, so I tried it. The sauce wasn't bad, and it was served with a decent brocollini. But the chicken was some of the driest I've had in a restaurant, with no crisp skin and a uniformly poor texture. No wonder no one finished their entrees. And I hate wasting food. So, as much as we would have wanted to give this place a great rating, we just won't be back. The service, although with a smile, was slow and terrible. Our candle burnt out in the middle of dinner. It was never relit. Our glasses were empty halfway through dinner. No refills on the tepid water. The entrees took an hour and a half before they came out (we were warned the chicken could take 30 min). Generally a very disappointing experience. Hard to explain the rave reviews but our Saturday dinner was a sad bust. The cold wet madeleines they provided in a doggie bag didn't do anything to help. Oh well. Hope y'all have a better experience if you go here.

We were having a lovely dinner in Warren and stopped into Bywater for a quick after-dinner drink. It was a bit cooler out but since they had no seats in the extremely limited bar area, we took the plunge and sat outside near their fire pits. They did not have many wines to choose from BTG which was disappointing. The one I had which was Cinsault was just ok. I had to dump out most of it since I did not enjoy it but that was my fault since sampling it I thought I liked it. My friend had the bartender make her a cocktail with grapefruit since they did not have pineapple. She was looking for a French martini but seemed to enjoy what they made her. My husband's espresso martini was very good I thought and light but could've used some bailey's. We already had dessert so we did not plan on anything else but I know I am interested in returning for dinner. The restaurant is very small inside but I loved the warm lights and decor. It was a very sexy and attractive vibe! If you are ever in Warren I highly recommend coming here for either drinks, dinner, or both. Dress warm if you plan on heading outside to sit near the fire...it does not give off that much heat! Cheers!

But upon tasting their food, it was clear, 'Viola' is just another Americanized Italian restaurant. We started with an a la carte order of: 'House made focaccia, roasted garlic spread, evoo, craft butter' This was fresh and tasty. We then shared the 'Caesar: traditional romaine hearts, foccaccia croutons, shaved pecorino cheese. classic caesar dressing.' This lacked any flavour, the romaine was cut into too small pieces, there was no hint of garlic or anchovy in the dressing. But the most disappointing dishes were the pasta dishes: 'Fettucini bolognese, house made, beef, pork, veal ragu, pecorino, basil, calabrian Chili.' 'Scampi viola, squid ink linguini, shrimp garlic, white wine, julienned vegetables, preserved lemon butter.' Although the pastas were freshly made, their textures were compromised; both pasta dishes were not 'al dente'. In fact the Scampi viola was drenched in a dark gravy and greasy. This is just not a very skilled preparation of pasta. A fresh pasta needs very little sauce, and should be dressed very simply so the 'textures' can be enjoyed. I ordered the: 'Zuppa di vongole: fresh little neck clams, vino biqnco, fresh herbs, crostini.' But this dish was replaced by a fried calamari dish. This was well prepared, actually the only star of the evening. This restaurant may succeed on its 'blandness' but will never attract the discerning diner who wants and appreciates authentic Italian cuisine. ~tiaotse~

We started with a complex Black Onion Garlic dip with house-made potato chips. Straight away, this puts everyone in a good mood. Our appetizers consisted of Roasted Farm Carrots & Beets, Lamb and Beef Meatballs, and Citrus & Radicchio Salad (party of 4). All were expertly crafted, creative, and delicious. Of special note, the sauce served with the meatballs was "finger-lickin good". For entrees, we ordered White Lamb Ragu, Roasted Lamb Loin, and Nettie & Ramp Pesto Fettucini. The house-made, melt-in-your mouth pappardelle pasta served with a ragu sauce put me in the zone. For dessert, we enjoyed 2 servings of a Frangipane buckwheat tart with Almond ice cream. She seemed annoyed by us, even though we didn't do anything other than tell her we already had drinks in and that we may order some other things soon. Nobody ever came by to check on us even though they came every 2 minutes to gab with the back table. My girlfriend and I didn't really like the nachos. She felt the chili was burnt and I thought it was too salty. We were still hungry and going to ask for entrees, but we were so annoyed with feeling neglected that we decided to go elsewhere. I asked for a box for my food and the waitress said she'd be back and went and talked with the other table again for what seemed like an eternity. At that point we just wanted to leave and eat somewhere else. When she came back after a while I was like... Oh! There you are! And she took my payment. I hate not leaving tips, but I was aggravated. We shouldn't have to get up and ask for what we need. This was upsetting.
