Some of the best french fries I have ever had - A serving of French fries in a paper cone, placed on a marble surface, with a dark background.

What an amazing dinner we had at the Franklin. The moment you walk in you are transported into a French villa. The decor was amazing an eclectic collection of paintings and beautiful China set the table as you sit down. The service was impeccable and they really make you feel like you are at home. we started off dinner with some Stillwater and deviled eggs with caviar and tender pea tendrils. next, we ordered their amazing french fries. These are the best pommes frites you will ever have! Golden brown, and crunchy on the outside and also tender on the inside. This is a definitely must order when visiting. Parking can be a little tight, but if you're patient you can find street parking. We lucked out and got a stall right in front of the restaurant. If you're craving French food, this is your place for sure.

A mixed experience! What can I say? The service and the restaurant decor is 5 star plus. Everyone here is marvelously friendly and professional. Taylor was great. The interior is stunningly beautiful. Just very inviting and, I would say like being in the south of France. Our table was especially lovely with a lamp and flowers. Now, unfortunately, I was fairly underwhelmed by what I ordered. Having dined all over, I started with the French onion soup. It was just okay. Trafford had one that burst with flavor. My "French Connection" was tasty. However, zero buzz. Avenue N, Blackstone Oyster, Olympia Tea Room know how to do a cocktail that is delicious and has a kick. The roasted half chicken had promise. It was bathed in a flavorful au jus. Unfortunately it was more bone than actual chicken. I did enjoy the cognac mushrooms but even the sides were skimpy. I did order the pommes purée, filling but fairly bland. Waterman Grille does this type of dish much better. Lastly, I was told the Affogato was delicious. It was terribly bitter. Pane e Vino makes a delicious one. So, the experience is quite lovely due to the decor & service. However, the food and drink were a disappointment. I hate saying it, I really do. Would I go back? Probably not unless I heard there was a revamp of recipes. I'm sorry.

I have lived in East Bay Rhode Island for most of my life. Take it from me; The Franklin is an experience you don't want to miss. French food made by a Top Tier chef and served by an enthusiastic, educated staff. The old factory district location is a bit rough.. Parking isn't wonderful, but when you step inside you are welcomed into a romantic Parisian Cafe with marble tabletops classic artwork and even a brass table hook for your purse. The soft lighting, the romantic floral dishes and the cutlery are perfect. Our server, Nick is THE server you want in such a special place. (I am sure the entire wait staff is as well) The attention he gave us along with the rest of the staff including the General Manager made us feel like we were the only table they had. The food? "Fagetaboit it". I am NOT qualified to describe it, but I'll do my best; We had the Bristol Board with soft cheeses, drunken cherries and spiced ham. Entree's of pressed boneless half chicken and filet were enhanced with deep fried mashed potato purée and seasonal mushrooms were amazing. For dessert we had a mixed fruit crumble. Everything is made from scratch in their kitchen. Prices? Well..not cheap, but worth every cent. My wife of 13 years called it our "most romantic date" which means we will certainly be back. The Franklin: Make a reservation dress up or dress down ...but make sure you get there. It isn't just a place to eat, it is an experience you will not forget.

The Franklin is so beautiful. We sat at the bar and the service was unmatched. Daniel and Claire were our bartenders and they went above and beyond! The drinks were amazing, the food was incredible and the service was out of this world.

Incredible center table and decor - A restaurant interior features a large wooden table with place settings, floral centerpieces, and candles, with several diners and staff present.

Staff was very friendly and genuinely interesting to talk to the most recent time I visited. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, with sexy, low mood lighting, trendy flower decor on the tables, even quirky and fun wallpaper in the bathrooms. The cocktail list is unique and has a little something for everyone. My drink had notes of rose which I found so different and delightful, though I ordered mine without egg white in it since I can't quite get into that cocktail ingredient trend. Everyone I've brought here has enjoyed their drink - glassware is pretty and photogenic but I do feel the portions are on the smaller side. What a great, "vibey" little spot to take a date, a friend on a bar crawl or quick afternoon catch up, and so on! Lots of other great stops in this plaza too, you could make a whole day out of this area without ever having to move your car. I feel I've traveled somewhere far away and a little exotic when I come here - a class act that hasn't let me down yet.

Everyone who works there is friendly and inviting, and even gave us a cute little amuse to start the night and the buckwheat shortbread to end. Here's everything we ordered: Agnolotti stuffed with tofu ricotta, with English peas, bacon, and a savory broth (my entree, I loved this - the broth was quite salty but the peas added a lovely freshness) Fazzoletti e funghi: local blue oyster mushrooms in a white wine cream sauce ‍ (my Mom's entree, also delicious and so umami) "Ivy rose" mocktail with grapefruit, prickly pear, and limeade (delightful!) Appetizers: fried squash blossoms stuffed with tofu ricotta in pomodoro sauce, and housemade focaccia with a trio of whipped butters (thyme and shallot, Calabrian chili, and smoked sweet onion). The ratio of butter to focaccia was more than double what we could use (we ordered more focaccia to spread it on!) but both of these apps were perfect. Foglia burger: house burger patty, tomato jam, garlic aioli, lettuce, onions, pickles, onion ring, housemade focaccia, and spicy agave parsnip fries (my dad's entree and to my delight he really enjoyed it!) Dessert: a gigantic slice of tiramisu (my favorite cake!). This was a huge slab, enough to share and have some leftover for breakfast. A little on the dry side for tiramisu but still really nice. Foglia is such a gem and we had a great time in Bristol, it's a beautiful town. The restaurant is small and cozy but was not too busy when we went. I highly recommend Foglia for a special occasion!

Advertised a 5 courses - we counted seven. The evening unfolded at a perfect pace over a relaxed two-plus hours, with attentive, knowledgeable service that never felt rushed. While we're not typically focused on vegetarian cuisine, every course was thoughtful, flavorful, and satisfying. The appetizer and pasta courses were standouts--creative, beautifully executed, and memorable. The wine pairings were spot-on and complemented each dish seamlessly. Restaurants like this only survive if diners seek them out and return--so whether it's your first visit or your fifth, it's well worth it. The chef/owner was nominated for a James Beard Award a few years ago, and the talent is evident in every course. Total with tip was about $370--very fair for the quality and experience.

My meal was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. I was in heaven. My partner had the Moroccan chicken with some dried black olives, mixed cooked greens and long carrot ribbons very well cooked, but unfortunately, it was extremely salty. It needed some sweet potato something to kind of balance all that salt. So she didn't enjoy hers as much as I did mine. The drink menu was not very extensive. Our Asian salad cups appetizer tasted exactly like an Asian salad mix I've bought at the grocery store and looked like it too - I'm convinced that's exactly how they prepared this. My veggie burger had burnt edges and wasn't too enjoyable flavor-wise. It didn't help my overall impression that when I got takeout here another time, they totally butchered my boyfriend's name when we ordered over the phone, and we had a hard time picking up our order because of this (how you get "Stephanie" from "Anthony," I just really don't know). I think this place just gets lucky having a good location across from Independence Park and being close to but just out of the way from downtown. Can't say I was impressed by the food - there are too many other good options in Bristol, I just can't say I'd recommend this to others. Perhaps it's improved since I visited, but it's a pass for me based on experiences I've had.

A fun little addition to this restaurant is that they also double as an ice cream shop which would have been the PERFECT dessert for me if I wasn't so full after my dinner. The indoor seating we were put in was a high top, but it was just enough room to seat 5 people comortably. I ordered the Bayview Burger paired truffle fries (chose to upgrade from normal fries), and it was the absolute most perfect choice! I also tried the Brussel Sprouts, but I would say if you like them crispy all the way through, these were not. I also had a fun mocktail with a dragonfruit (unfortunately can't find the name of the drink, but the picture is below) to pair with my food--I will say that while it was tasty, it was pretty sweet but was the perfect pair with my Bayview Burger, which was a bit on the saltier side. The only downside to our experience is that once it did start getting pretty busy in the restaurant, the service was much much slower (which is a given with how busy it was) and we had to ask a different waiter to help us get our check and head out. Other than that, it was a wonderful choice for dinner and I would recommend this restaurant anytime!

The burger I ordered (bacon cheeseburger with no bacon) was delicious. No complaints there and I will probably reorder. The only problem here was that I asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, to which the waiter simply said okay. Turns out it was an undisclosed upcharge. Not only did he not tell me it would be $2.75 (or something like that) more, but the fries are listed as the same price online. When I told him that, he said that their online menu is really old (this is to say, don't look at it! and also, not sure why they wouldn't update it if they know it's incorrect). Sure enough, the printed menu also said nothing about an upcharge for a different fry, so ultimately I was able to remove the charge, but it was a little awkward and frustrating. My only other complaint is not particularly the fault of the restaurant, but I suppose just a side effect of the laidback vibes. A group of 7 or 8 people came in like 20 minutes after us and was so loud that I almost suggested we leave.
