    Seafood Fra Diavolo

It is not The George I remember. Haven't been in a while and decided for a Valentine's Day dinner with my girlfriend. Well, the meal was not worth the money. Lobster was overcooked in seafood fra diavolo. The stuffed mushroom appetizer served on a bed of wilted lettuce? Are we in 2002 to put 5 stuffed mushrooms on wilted lettuce leaves? The lamb was actually good, so that saved it. I will say that it is unlikely I'll come back to the George. But, I used to love this place.

This place is absolutely incredible! We showed up randomly on a Saturday night and they were able to accommodate us easily on the bar side. From the outside the place looks a little divey, but inside it is beautifully decorated and furnished. Very colonial means modern, dark heavy wood, linen table cloths and cozy/comfy seating. The food and drink meanu is extensive and impressive! I got a major kick out of signature cocktails all being revolutionary wat themed. I ordered "The Pear-fect President" and it truly was a perfect cocktail. For dinner I ordered the surf and turf special. The filet was cooked and seasoned to perfection, the shrimps were large and you could tell the mashed potatoes were freshly made in house. This is place could go back and back to!

Check out their Monday night specials, entrées & a bottle of wine for $55. What a great deal in this day and age of dining prices increasing. We met friends there and all of us enjoyed our dinners. I have the slow cooked beef shank on the special menu, moist and tasty like grandma's Sunday dinners. It came with soup, salad and wine, tho not high end, but very drinkable. George is reliable for a tasty meal in a swanky environment and very good service.

I was pleasantly surprised at this restaurant that is a block away from the convention center. The ambiance is amazing! It's a mix of high end dining with a casual feel. The drinks were wand my salmon was so flavorful. The service was good and pleasant. I look forward to returning.

When dining out, if the food is fantastic, I can overlook mediocre service or ambiance. The George, on the other hand, provides great ambiance and service, but the food was nothing particularly special or memorable. Our favorite dish was the pork chop, which was paired with classic sweet apple and maple flavors, and a hearty mound of home style mashed potatoes. The French onion soup was sweet and comforting, but the focaccia used made me miss a traditional bread crouton that is better suited to soak up broth. Similarly, the salty toppings and flavor combination of the prosciutto and arugula pizza and garlicky Asiago crust was really good. Like the soup, the "bread" was disappointing as the dough showed no signs of being grilled, and it was tough and chewy like a store bought Boboli. * Note, they charge a 4% fee for payment by credit card, which seems excessive and unethical.

Amazing as always! The George is a consistently great dining experience. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic date night and we were seated near the bar where the owner and various other musicians played the piano. So many talented individuals! The dirty martinis with blue cheese olives and sangria were perfectly made. The calamari with the Thai chili sauce was phenomenal, it was crispy and tasty. My husband said it was the best calamari he has had. We both thoroughly enjoyed our entrees, I had the chicken francese and he had the short ribs. If you are going to a show at PPAC, this is the perfect location for a pre-show meal...then you can stop back for a drink and live entertainment after as well. I also love that the owner stops by tables to check on your meal!

I went here for dinner for my birthday I did not enjoy the meal but I was pleasantly pleased with the waiter which made up for the disappointment with the meal. I ordered the veal dish and the veal was very bland no flavor. My replacement dish was the beef short ribs which were okay. The beef short rib was cold but thankfully the mash potatoes were hot. My husband ordered the risotto and scallops dish. He enjoyed the scallops but the risotto wasn't fully cooked and some of it was crunchy. We also ordered the crab cakes and although the crab cakes had good flavor and seasoned well. The crab cakes had a lot of filler of breadcrumbs very little crab. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the piano playing was lovely.

Best pork chop I ever had! Ambience was nice. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Everything on the menu sounded good. I got their pork chop on recommendation. It didn't disappoint.

Awesome Sunday brunch !!! The Bloody Mary topped with a lobster tail says it all.

Awesome Holiday brunch!!! Food, service, ambiance and if course cocktails were great.

Went here before the P-Bruins game to have a quick drink and wow what a cool place! The interior is a travel back in time, the Bartender was professional and courteous, will go back to try the food.....Definitely will go back!

Went to the comedy show @ the Hyde speakeasy & had a great time. Impressive talent for an unexpected venue. Loved the drinks. Ended up eating a bite after & staying a little while longer. Nice staff. Great valet! (Gabe went back to my car to get my phone due to leaving it there.). Love the upstairs bar as well. Little loud compared to the softer more sultry speak easy - but still great!

Wasn't sure if they did take out, happy they did. The man who answered the phone was very nice. The presentation of the food was very good. Only missing the crustini with the charcuterie board but other than that very happy.

How difficult is it to get a seat near the piano for drinks on a Saturday night?

When I was there they were just starting out and it was easy to walk in with no reservations. My friends, who live in the area, tell me it is slamming busy now. Unless something has changed, the piano player is only there on Thursdays. Friday and… Read more

Not the kind of place I really want to sit in and enjoy a cocktail. Dungeon like. The music is loud hip hop, not something I mind, but worth noting if thats not for you. I sat at the bar, and honestly didn't feel like it was super clean. I don't think the counter had been wiped down for a while. Staff were doing their best but seemed overwhelmed on a Saturday night. I was watching them make the cocktails and did not feel like it was very sanitary. They've got one small sink they're rinsing everything in, they were chucking stuff, literally chucking and slamming metal. They were dumping out people's drinks into the same side of the sink and then rinsing in the other side. But stuff was splashing into what should be the clean side. It's not a good setup for a cocktail bar. The cocktail menu had 8 drinks on it, 2 they were out of. Nothing had whiskey in it. I got a drink called Darjeeling something. Really didn't like it, didn't taste balanced and it looked different than someone else's who ordered the same thing, not sure if the bartender forgot an ingredient. The bartender also wasn't tasting the drinks which I usually see to ensure it was made correctly. This one had curry in it as a listed ingredient and it was just way too strong a flavor. It was a rum drink with some mezcal but it just tastes like mezcal and curry powder. The place was pretty busy but people were coming and going frequently. There's only one bathroom which really isn't enough for a bar. Seems like there's potential here but I didn't like the menu offerings and the sanitary concerns leave me with no desire to come back here.

Since it took a bit to get the second round of chips we had to leave most of them and the dip to get to our show on time which was a bummer. THE DRINKS -delicious!!! Great, accurate descriptions -I tried the parsley one and it was so refreshing and perfectly herby. A lovely woman in the restroom overheard my friend and I unsure on where to venture, and she suggested this place! Moody and welcoming. Absolutely loved it. We went in ~10:45 on a Wednesday pm. Apparently they do live jazz weekly as well, but we'd come too late. A handful of bar patrons, a couple making out in the back of the dining room at their cute table, a lovely bartender, me& my bff. We really hit the jackpot for ambiance last night. Decor in there is so cute. I wish I took a picture of the table lamp on the bar. It was embellished with beads hanging on the rim of the shade.
