So cover bands in bars at 11AM totally need to be a thing! The Monkees tribute band Zilch! was originally booked for 2PM but the time was moved up because of the impending Snowicane. Myrtle, which I think is one of the coolest bars I've ever seen (it has its own in-house boutique!) was packed this morning. They served a $15 brunch which looked great but, since I had just eaten breakfast, I chose to forego and enjoyed a delicious Irish coffee ($12) instead. This might be my go-to bar from now on. Still a favorite spot to see local bands! Myrtle hosts a great variety of music genres - from folk to punk, there's truly something for everyone. They also have fun holiday parties. We have been to NYE and Halloween parties here and they did not disappoint! I haven't been to any of the burlesque shows yet but I definitely want to check that out. Friendly staff, delicious cocktails, good vibes always. There's no food but they sometimes have food trucks out back and you can bring pizza over from Jeff's across the street. read more

I've been to this gem of a music venue many many times and have never had any issues with Service music drinks, etc. etc. The bartenders and owners are super friendly and the ambience that they have created is shabby chic and cozy in the best possible way. We actually think they should charge a modest cover... We want them to stay in business for a long, long time. read more

How stinkin' cute!! This one is for the ladies. Esthetically pleasing and comforting. Think mismatched vintage couches, a few booths and a long bar. Every touch seams well thought out from the chandeliers to the rug coasters (you heard that right.) Even has a small vintage clothing store on site! You can bring food in although they do sell bags of chips. Drinks are pricey but it's a a prt of the experience (their 4 specials were posted on a small clipboard. My drink had elder in, it's a fancy kinda place. ) The bartender couldn't really flow with a tropical drink but we found a drink. Would love to go back again. read more

Went for a quick visit and was impressed and delighted by the funky and old fashioned decor! Very fun furniture to hang out on. It seemed they only had a very short cocktail list (5 drinks on it?), but the concoctions were unique and interesting. I liked my cocktail but I couldn't taste half of the ingredients, which of course were the ones I was most looking forward to. I'll have to come check it out again when I have more time to check out the little thrift shop inside, and just to hang around and soak in the artsy vibes. read more

Great venue! Nice to have a live music spot like this in RI. Got to catch the indie folk band Sneaky Miles--really enjoyed their set. The ambiance and lighting inside are on point. Cocktails are decent. They offer a few bar snacks, but you can also bring your own food--Jeff's Pizza is conveniently right across the street. All in all, a great spot if you're into live music. Cute little bar with live music in East providence. They don't have food but a few groups of people brought pizza from Jeff's across the street. The cocktail list is unique and fun, but they have a full bar and beer selection. I got one of the drinks on the menu and one "off menu". After being told to try this place a few times I knew immediately knew upon walking in it wasn't my vibe. My first thought was it reminded me of the Galactic in Warren. Bartender wasn't friendly or attentive, despite at times we were the only people at the bar. We were too early for the music. They were just walking in when we were leaving. Overall if the weird divey bar vibe is your cup of tea like here and Galactic you'll like this place. If not don't bother. read more

My wife happened to read somewhere that a favorite band of hers was playing at the Myrtle. We had never been before but decided to step out of our comfort zone and check it out. We were very impressed. The only way to describe it is that it feels like a very high end, friendly dive bar. Chandeliers, couches and booths along with a bar makes for an ideal setting to meet friends. If you ever watched Friends on TV, the coffee shop they hung out would remind you of the Myrtle. Fortunately Phoebe doesn't play there. read more

I am in love! This bar is such a hidden gem. From the décor to the friendly bartenders. I saw a fantastic Hip Hop/Soul/New Age duo Kuf Knotz and Christine Elise. The crowd was so eclectic and all vibing. Will be back for sure to catch some more shows and enjoy the ambiance. read more

I came to Myrtle for a Political Trivia Nighy hosted by an outside organization. The inside decor was very cute! While they didn't have a food menu, they allowed the organization to bring in their own food. The stage area + booths + back wall high chairs served as a great place for our jeopardy style trivia game. I enjoyed the tasty drinks from the bar. I would def come back for another event or happy hour. This venue also looks like a great place to rent out / visit for a baby shower, school reunion, work happy hour, etc. read more

Cute bar. Very moody lighting . Lots of space to sit at bar or booths. they also have live music which we didn't stick around too long to enjoy. I grabbed two cocktails one on their menu - don't remember the name but it had taquila and was bright pink. I also wanted a sidecar but was disappointed to learnt they don't keep brandy at the bar--- (I don't know maybe its the African American in me but it rubs me the wrong way when a bar doesn't keep a good cognac on the shelf. At least a Hennessy‍... iykyk...) still, The bartender was very patient and also seemed to lament on my behalf the absence of a brandy... she did sub the sidecar with some rum and it was fine for me). Sans the lack of diverse spirits- this is a cute bar- they also have a vintage shop inside with some cool tshirts and other items. I'd suggest you grabbing a pizza from across the street and eating it in here. Plenty of beers on tap.
