Stumbled upon this place and it's now one of my favorites on the cape. Deducted one star - came during off season in February. Not a lot of guests inside. The server was very scattered. Placed our orders. She read it back to us and when the food came out, my dish was wrong. She took the plate back and said they would fix it. By the time my dish came out, my whole party was done eating .. it was a total bummer as I was hungry and my party was left waiting for me. Nothing was done about this either. Food - My MIL had the poke bowl (yummy! I tried a little), I had the chicken bowl (very good!) Dessert - Pistachio cake (average, I would skip it) Drinks - loved that they could make the espresso martini decaf! Decor - loved the set up and the place is spacious! Very nice restaurant. Great environment and plenty of delicious options on the menu. I got the poke bowl and it was perfectly simple and tasted great! The clam chowder was also on par. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well if that is what you're looking for. However, the wait time for our food the past two times I have been here has been quite long. Waiting over 40-50 minutes at least for our food to come out in different intervals is not ideal. Luckily the food is worth the wait. Could be the best spot in Dennis. - Greg C read more

During this trip to encore bistro I was accompanied by my family, dinner started out sitting outside and everyone of my family members ordering martinis...I felt pressured and my peers guided me to ordering myself my own martini. The martini I ordered ( Bistro martini ) was delicious and got me to the state of mind I needed We ordered 3 appetizers and they were also delicious ( 2 salads and 1 pizza ) the pear flatbread pizza was just ok and it got the job done. Before dinner I ordered a peroni and it's doing its job to prepare my stomach, and it worked beautifully. I ordered the tuna poke bowl with extra tune and it was plated incredibly and tasted just as good. Throughout the night as the sun begin the set the outside tent ( with the heater ) provided an incredible ambiance for our eating. Sadly no dessert tonight but I will 100% be back soon. read more

Pretty poor everything. We ordered drinks and they never came. We ordered food and it took an inordinately long time. The food was average quality but way overpriced. We reminded our server that we had ordered drinks when she brought our food and then she finally brought them over. 5 stars for service and ambiance, 3.5 stars for food, we land at four stars for an overall really wonderful time. I knew nothing about Encore prior to dining here, which is rare for me when going to a restaurant. I've usually done ample research. But it was my friend's birthday and I was a Cape Cod newbie so I was along for the ride (and surprisingly happy to be in that position given how anal I tend to be). Our experience here was delightful, in large part due to the beautiful, expansive outdoor space and the incredible staff. The food was hit or miss, but I left content. We came here as a party of five on a Thursday night. We arrived at around 8:30 and were quickly notified that all food orders needed to be in by 9, so we had to deliberate quickly. They offered us a choice of an indoor or an outdoor table, the weather was wonderful so we opted for outdoors. It was a bit buggy though - you've been warned. We decided that a bunch of the appetizers looked good, so many of us split those for our dinner while a few others had their own mains and picked at the small plates. It ended up being the perfect amount of food. But before I get to that, let me quickly speak to drinks. Most of us ordered specialty cocktails, many of which are super light and refreshing. I ended up going with the Lavender G+T (w/ lavender-infused gin), which was a nice subtle twist on one of my go-to drinks. I then had a dirty gin martini (they brought olives over ice on the side too), which was excellent. Food-wise, there's quite a lot to choose from. Salads, lots of appetizers, and just as many entrees. It took us quite a long time to make decisions, as we wanted to try a bunch of things but didn't want to over-order because we didn't want leftovers. As it turned out, we probably didn't need to cut one or two of the dishes we did as the apps weren't too big, but I was still satiated enough by the end of the meal. Eats, below: Lobster Boat w/ romaine heart vessel, tomato crudo, sliced avocado, lobster, mango: A- Solid dish. The lobster was fresh and juicy and it paired nicely with the mango and tomato. The avocado was a bit heavy-handed. Brussel Skillet w/ applewood smoked bacon bits, feta cheese, balsamic glaze: A I fought for this and I'm glad I did. Though this is technically a veggie dish, I would not say it is healthy. The bacon, cheese and balsamic to amp up the fat, flavor, and fun. The brussels were and nice and crispy, as decadent as brussels can come. Mussels Bianco w/ creamy scampi sauce: A The other fan favorite of the night. There's nothing quite like great seafood in Massachusetts. These were fresh and delicious, and the sauce was just sublime. Even the shellfish-wary in our party loved them. You must not leave without trying these Lamb Lollipops: B Just okay. They didn't wow me but they weren't bad. Mainly forgettable. Roasted Duck w/ cherry glaze, roasted potatoes: B- Someone in our party requested that the duck be cooked medium/medium well, which for me was the main issue. It was overdone. That said, the cherry glaze wasn't robust, and the potatoes were a sad attempt at roasted potatoes. My roasted potatoes on the side of my omelet the next morning were far better. read more

Went for dinner with my wife and son. Was able to walk in and get a table on a warm Friday in July. Outdoor seating in a tent was very pleasant. Service was good, responsive, but did not hover. Food was a mix of Cape Cod standby's and some more ambitious options. Preparations and quality was fair. Salad ingredients were not fresh. Fried calamari, shrimp and pepperoncini was overdone, medium hamburger was very well done. The beet salad had canned beets. Prices were reasonable. And on busy summer evenings it is not a bad option. After we had a wonderful sunset on the beach, my friend and I stumbled on this place. We showed up at 8, they closed at 9. We were able to sit outside in the covered patio. Our waiter was great but the. Hostess seemed to have a problem with us sitting outside as we could see her flailing her arms to our waiter inside. To start, we shared a bottle of wine, which was delicious. We had the burrata and prosciutto toast - which was tasty but felt like something was missing. I can't put my finger on what but it needed something. It was still tasty. Next, we had the lobster mango tower. Mango lobster and avocado- definitely a strange combo but somehow it worked. I had a piece of shell in mine but it was tasty. We finished our meal with swordfish and the fig and duck flatbread. This spot was amazing! We sat inside near the bar/tvs and it was very comfortable/casual. Service was great and the food was even better. I ordered a Maine lobster roll (cold) and it was OUTSTANDING! My friend and I like to sit at a table in the bar and have Eric to wait on us. He is the best waiter. So funny and excellent at remembering and giving fast service. He has a following of faithful fans who love to go to the Bistro. The food is delicious and quite reasonable. Just a fabulous time any time we go there. We love it. read more

Food was overpriced and not very good. The Cod Homard was pricey and the fish was overcooked with very little flavor. The potatoes along with it were not well seasoned. The wedge salad barely had any dressing on it. Service took awhile too. Not what we were expecting for the price. read more

Our first review of Encore but not our first visit. Always happy we came. Tonight, we were a party of four. Buratta appetizer shared - really a nice salad/buratta. One mussels from the regular menu, one mussels from the daily special, one beef stroganoff and I had the Cod with lobster topping. My meal was one of the best I've had in a long time. Great buttery flavor, tender lobster claw meat on top of a delicious cod loin. The special mussels were red with a little finishing "bite." The regular mussels were in a light cream sauce and delicious. Not a closed mussel in either serving. Stroganoff was really flavorful. Bravo! read more

We made a reservation before a show. I had never been to the restaurant and really enjoyed the tablecloths and napkins, the wonderful service and the ambience of the restaurant. The menu had lots of wonderful options and my dinner, and those of my friends were exceptional. This is a really wonderful dining experience and I highly recommend it read more

The staff was phenomenal always remembers a face and greets everyone with a smile and a neighborly conversation. Had two bistro martinis and they were delicious made by two different staff and consistently great. Walked the whole restaurant and loved the vibe in and outside but sat at the bistro it was more casual. The clam chowder was delicious, Caesar salad with salmon was yummy. We had a drink at the Tavern before dinner as we had to wait for a table (they don't take reservations). We ate outside under a tent. After sharing an appetizer we had duck, a flatbread, a hamburger and a salad - all quite good. No desserts as we were too full. Worth a visit. Would give it 3 1/2 stars. read more

This place is a hidden little gem. We were greeted at the door by the host, Eric. He made a point to remember our names and seated us at the bar. The bartenders Kellie and Tommy were fantastic. Again, the level of customer service was at a level I had never experienced before. Eric brought us over a bowl of homemade spicy chicken and rice soup, complimentary. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with truffle fries - cooked to perfection. Apparently this place is packed when the adjacent playhouse is in play. We went on a Saturday afternoon at 4 pm. Only locals. I loved the cozy cape cod feel of this place and you knew upon entering that this restaurant had been there for years. Will definitely go again. read more

The staff is nice, and the ambiance/ location is ideal. However, as time goes on this place becomes more well known for two things: unjustifiably high prices and even higher waiting times. I ordered the steak with Gorgonzola, which I believe was $38. The portions weren't anything to scream about (to be kind), and for the first time in my life I had to add salt to my food at a restaurant. As a rule, I try not to use a salt shaker because the natural flavor of the food suits me just fine. I understand that puts me in the minority, but for the first time since I can remember I was compelled to do so in order to get some semblance of flavor out of this dish. There is a note at the bottom of the menu stating that there is a plate sharing fee of $5. Quite possibly the tackiest thing I've ever seen at a restaurant. Last, between every stage of the order the service was absurdly slow. It got to the point at which every time the waiter left the table we weren't sure we would ever see her again. "I'll be right back with your drinks." Bon voyage! "I'll get your appetizer order when I come back". See you next fall! I don't think it had anything to do with our specific waiter either as this has been our experience now every-time we've tried eating here. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but while Dennis has a lot of great restaurants this one has seemed to have lost its way. Still can't believe the plate sharing fee. read more

We arrived at Encore and sat outside under the tent. Normally I don't like to be outside but this was set up very well with outdoor heaters. A great effort was also put into making the outdoor space look beautiful. Maggie was our waitress and she did an excellent job with service and attending to anything we needed. The cocktails (painkillers) were very good. The appetizers and entrees were all excellent! I highly recommend Encore. read more

Saw this after seeing a play last year. Decided to take a drive out to try it today. I'm a very fussy eater and have to say that the food was outstanding. The Ahi Tuna with pork belly was out of this world as was the Pearcarpaccio. The pairings of ingredients in each dish was a culinary delight. read more

The food is just OK. The bread really wasn't that fresh. The service is nice but with so many better options out there. I don't think I'd be back to encore. I had a poke bowl and was like not really that much tuna it was just a big amount of white rice with a little bit of tuna on top. It's just very mediocre. read more

Very let down by my visit to encore. No wait for a table which was nice and overall busy but did not seemed slammed. After ordering entrees it took over an hour to receive the food. I will say our server was attentive and frequently checked in, refilled drinks and apologized for the wait on the food. Two in my party ended up ordering burgers which came out well-done rather than medium. They said they were still ok but not great. I got the swordfish tips which looked fantastic from presentation POV. However the swordfish was extremely fishy in the bad way. The only portion of the meat I was able to eat was the carmelized outer crust since the grill flavor could mask the bad tasting interior. Others in my party tried mine and also said the same thing. The asparagus was the highlight of the plate and it was just simple plain asparagus. The rice was bland and even the grilled outer part of the fish did not have any hint of the referenced dill and lemon marinade. Overall very disappointed especially considering the price. If it was not for the server and overall comfortable atmosphere I would have given 1 star read more

What a delightful restaurant. The ambiance during Christmas is just lovely. The choices of signature cocktails were wonderful and I had a difficult time making a selection. I finally went with the dark cherry margarita which was simply marvelous. It was just the right amount of sweetness. The salmon and scallops were both cooked to perfection with combinations of flavors that complimented both dishes. The bolognese with egg noodles was a special that night and I was so happy I ordered that. The sauce was fabulous. For dessert we shared coconut cream pie and creme brûlée. Both were extremely smooth and creamy. The only thing I might suggest is that the hardened caramelized sugar on top of the creme brûlée be a tad bit thinner. But that may be my personal taste. What an extraordinary find! This restaurant is tucked in with the Dennis cinema, the Dennis Playhouse and the Cape Cod Museum of art. My mom and I lucked out and were able to get a table in the early afternoon and enjoyed it absolutely delicious lunch. The menu was eclectic everything is beautifully prepared. The outdoor seating area is lovely, decorated with many flowers and intricate wrought iron canopies and tables. The service was impeccable and they did not rush us as we enjoyed our food. My mom is a bit of a foodie and even she enjoyed her meal here. Be sure to stay for dessert... The warm bread putting, even on a summers day, was art fully executed and equally flavorful. read more

Went to Encore tonight to have a late dinner with friends. Not wanting to ruin our evening I quietly ate the dinner served to me pretending it was fine. The potatoes were ice cold, the asparagus overcooked, the scallops were rubbery and must have been cooked ahead and barely heated. The wine pour was skimpy. Overpriced and not really edible. We enjoyed our meal here! FOOD - I got the filet mignon and my boyfriend got the tagliatelle bolognese. Filet was perfectly cooked, very flavorful. Tasty mashed potatoes but wish it came with more than a few pieces of asparagus. Bolognese was also tasty and mostly well-balanced, but a little saucy. We also got the lemon cheesecake (see picture), which was fairly tasty, though only had a single raspberry. AMBIANCE - a fairly small dining area for the restaurant's larger demand. Tables were nicely set, but also somewhat close together. The wooden frame also seemed to echo sound so it was fairly loud. We enjoyed the live string jazz though! A nice touch. *review is based on valentine day weekend earlier this year, just getting around to it. We had heard rave reviews on this place but had never been so we made reservations for valentines dinner and was extremely disappointed. It was a pre-fixed meal and no where on their website ( I checked that night) nor was it communicated to me when I made the reservation. No one really seemed to care when I questioned it. I would not have made reservation if I had known. It was $60/ a person and although I understand the concept of pre-fixed menu, the options were extremely limited. For $60 you got a choice of a soup or salad to start, your meal and a choice of desert. The limited options made It was a total rip-off. This was a disappointing first time and was so very much looking forward to it. Having a hard time wanting to come back after a $200/night. read more
