While the staff was great they did seem to be a bit overwhelmed. My only other recommendation would be to install some patio heaters for colder nights and get some more comfortable chairs. I have frequented the Brewster/Orleans area on Cape since I was born ! I have driven by the Beacon Room a million times and just never been in! Finally last summer I came in and was so pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious the ambiance was relaxing, and the drinks were strong and good! Since it is tucked a bit off the main road it doesn't feel so Cape Tourist! I took my aunt with me this time, and once again delicious! She had the Cod with risotto which was fabulous and I had the Sole with curry and grape salad with Jasmine rice. I had the curry sauce on the side to try it out first, but oh man was it great! Let's start with the fact that I reserved a table for the right day, right time but wrong week! No worries, the fabulous hostess found a way to fix my error and we were seated in about five minutes. Our server was equally pleasant and helpful. Wine by the glass selection was ample and everyone found something they liked. Our guests had the swordfish special and the sole; they were both raving about their dinners the next day. Without a doubt, the best duck I've ever had! Came here in 2024 and came back to enjoy the duck again in 2025. Doesn't disappoint. The skin is so crispy and inside so moist. Stumbled upon The Beacon Room when exploring down Cape and we are so happy that we did. Many of the other restaurants in the area are closed for lunch, especially during the winter, so make sure you check this place out if you're looking for a good lunch spot. Atmosphere is fantastic. A bit on the fancy side, but you could also be casual. There is plenty of parking and a decent amount of tables. From the parking lot, it looked pretty busy but we were still sat right away as a party of 4. They have an extensive cocktail list, which we dabbled with. We ordered one of the mocktails and added gin which was phenomenal and also tried their Negroni cocktail, which was just okay. Out of everything we ordered, it was the only item that didn't impress us. For appetizers, we tried both of the soups; the clam chowder and their soup of the day which was a butternut bisque. Both were great, however we did need to add a bit of salt to the chowder to bring out the flavor. Their lunch menu is mostly sandwiches, but they all sounded delicious. I got the Reuben which was one of the best ones I've ever had and opted for the truffle fries ($4 upcharge). My husband got the Fish & Chips and we split both. Everything was delicious. read more

Our group of 5 went to The Beacon Room to celebrate a birthday. What a wonderful time! The food was excellent, the service was amazing, and our whole party had a great time. I had the grilled salmon - a generous portion, perfectly cooked. Our birthday girl had a dinner of appetizers, with the perfectly fried artichokes and bacon-wrapped scallops. All in our party had a great dinner, with plenty of leftovers. Which was a good thing, since we all needed room for birthday cake desert! Restaurant fails to follow enforced state laws around animals in restaurant as they do not have a permit. The law is very clear a permit is required. This restaurant claimed they couldn't ask the people with a dog if they had paperwork for their miniature Yorker because it would make too much of a fuss. Last time I checked miniature Yorkies are not service dogs. When asking the manager about the permit they said they didn't want to make a fuss with the dog owner. But guess it's ok to put heart transplant patients at risk. Will be calling the health department Monday to alert them and already contacted BBB at this massive failure. read more

A friend's friend, who often dines here, suggested we join her there for dinner. Nice evening. Started at outside bar with bartender Kim making a great adaptation of the Cosmo. Then seated inside. We all shared a mini lobster roll appetizer. We had a different fish main, and all three were tasty. Nice big portions with good veggie, rice, beets, grapes as signs of chef creativity. How could I have missed this place? I am told it's been around for 25 years. If you're looking for excellent food (that is creative but not fussy), a charming atmosphere, and warm and competent service -- The Beacon Room is the place. I couldn't have been happier sitting under their outside tent eating the Fra Diavolo (that was just spicy enough), my wife was equally happy with the pistachio crusted sole and the limoncelli cake for 2 was the perfect way to end a great meal. The Beacon Room is a must do. We ventured upon The Beacon Room last year and had such a great experience that we talked about it throughout the year. We knew when we came back this fall we had to go again. The atmosphere is welcoming, restaurant is cozy and warm. The food.... Amazing. Staff.. amazing. In particular, Brian. We made early reservations for a hi-top (definitely make reservations). We asked if the bar was available when we arrived and it turns out it was.. which is what we hoped for. We had such a great experience with Brian last time, so this was a great surprise. Brian is attentive, personable, listens and very knowledgeable of cocktails and food recommendations. He interacts with customers, knows what they like.. all while handling a full bar. You can also share with Brian what you're thinking of ordering and what appetizer might pair up well with that. He's spot on, too! This year we had the Burrata app.. amazing. Lovely toasted bread with garlic, greens and fresh cherry tomatoes. We ordered the duck (as did I last year) and the NY strip, rare. Both came with the phenomenal Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. Absolutely fantastic. We each ordered dirty martinis , which were delicious and made perfectly. We will definitely be back next year and will continue to highly recommend The Beacon Room. If you are visiting the cape, we highly recommend you add this gem to your places to visit. The restaurant was packed last night when we arrived and you could see that the wait staff was extremely taxed in handling the crowd. Service was slow and food came out slowly. The calamari appetizer was soggy and overly spicy. My main course was borderline cold and my coffee at the end of the meal was lukewarm. Waiting for our waiter to appear for a coffee replacement and then, ultimately, the check took way too long. We are going to hold off for a while and visit other alternative spots and perhaps come back in the summer when a full staffing can handle the crowd efficiently. read more
