Visited during a busy lunchtime and waited about 15 minutes, which was perfectly fine since we were seated in a cozy booth with a beautiful marsh view. We enjoyed a few cocktails and shared the calamari appetizer--it was excellent. For our entrées, we had the apple cider short rib and the grilled swordfish, both of which were delicious. We'll definitely be returning again soon!

I enjoy Marshside. I have to admit that I long for the old days when it was a small restaurant in a converted house that could barely fit 20 people. Back then the menu changed according to the chef's menu of the day. However, their success over the years meant growth; so they expanded in order to serve a greater number of hungry visitors. Cape Cod in the summer can prove difficult to find a last mini spot to have a satisfying meal, and Marshside never disappoints. They have a list of regular items (both seafood and American fare) plus interesting seasonal features. The staff are polite and quick. They have to be due to the large restaurant and quick table turnover. Most of the seats in the restaurant have a commanding view of the marsh and it can be quite a romantic setting if you have an outdoor seat. The bar area is large and vibrant if you are dining alone or with a friend.

Nice ambience, good food at reasonable price, and friendly staff. We got there at 5 pm after going to a matinee at the cape playhouse. The place was packed by 6 pm!

Great food and great views! They bring out (many) bread rolls with whipped butter that has chives in it. Both the bread and butter were delicious and we finished all of them. The corn chowder and clam chowder soup were good. We ordered the calamari for $17 and felt like there were not many calamaris actually in it, and that there were lots of sweet peppers. It did have a good sauce. We said something to our waiter about it and he said the chef was trying out a new recipe. For my main dish, I ordered the linguine with clams for $30 and was very impressed. It was the perfect amount, I didn't need to take any home for leftovers. For the service, I had read some recent reviews that they were struggling, and we came on 4th of July weekend and didn't have any problems. Our waiter was wonderful and helped me choose between the swordfish and the linguine. Seating: indoor and outdoor. Room for big groups.

She was able to convince them to release the special lists for us which had plenty of items to choose from. There was a good selection of things to choose from. We decided on the clam chowder bread bowl, French onion soup, grilled cheese, and onion rings. We asked that everything be delivered at once which it was. The French onion soup was as flavorful as always. A deep rich beef base with plenty of onions, cheese and croutons. Always a favorite of ours here. The chowder bread bowl was large with the top of the bread bowl toasted which was a nice touch. The bread was very fresh and filled to the top with plenty of clams and potatoes and a very creamy rich broth. Bread bowls are a favorite and this didn't disappoint. The best part is tearing the bowl apart so you get that nice flavor of the chowder coming through. The grilled cheese was your standard grill cheese. Nicely grilled with a little crust on the outside and plenty of cheese inside. A large portion of tater tots came with the sandwich and they were fried nicely except they were a little greasy. And plenty of butter was used on the bread to get it nice and toasty. The onion rings could have been fried a little longer and, like the tater tots, were a tad greasy. But the onions were nice and fresh and still had a good crunch to them. All in all the meal was good, service was great, and seating is always comfortable. We'll be going back in the near future.

Had the NE clam chowder - thick and chunky with great balance of seasoning. First time in a long time I didn't have to add pepper. We seated ourselves and our server came over with menus and asking for our drink order. We ordered bottles of soda rather than glasses as this seemed a better choice. We ordered chicken salad wrap with walnuts and cranberries with French fries and the evening special of prime rib which came with mashed red potatoes and a veggie (dropped the veggie). The food arrived pretty quickly and the prime rib was perfect at medium rare with plenty of potatoes and au jus. The prime was very tender, juicy, and the exterior was well spiced with salt, pepper and a few other things thrown in for good measure, and it was nice and crispy. The chicken wrap did don't measure up however. Everything was all ground together so it looked more like minced ingredients rather than whole pieces you could distinguish. There was no way of telling chicken from walnuts to cranberries. Pretty disappointing. The fries were well fried and crunchy. Our server was very pleasant and provided us with whatever we needed. Seating in the dining room has changed to a combination of regular tables and high tops which I find not to be the most comfortable seating a restaurant could have. If we're in the area we may stop back in to try some of the other items on their menu.
