    Bar/Clubby atmosphere

This is the clubby bar area of Twenty Eight Atlantic at the Wequassett Resort. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. My husband and I started with drinks. He had wine and I tried the Daisy Chain cocktail which was as tasty as it was beautiful! We then shared the seafood tower which was amazing followed by the Korean chicken and Pleasant Bay Grenades. It was a really nice and enjoyable night! The service was excellent as well!

The bartender was arrogant and the reason that many give the East coast community bad "reviews". This was one of two places for dinner at our resort. After the "service" we received from the bar, we changed our dinner reservation to the other restaurant, Atlantic 28. No regrets, food, service and ambiance was incredible there!

I've only been to the bar for drinks. The bartenders are extremely knowledgable and make wonderful cocktails! I have had both on-menu cocktails such as the Daisy Chain and off-menu cocktails like a Vesper. Every single cocktail was delicious. The bartenders were friendly and perfectly happy to chat about what they like to make, favorite spirits, etc. The last time I was there, they were testing out Cape Cod chips with different seasonings to potentially add to the menu and let me and the bf try the flavors. So nice! I'm not out in Harwich that often, but when I am - I will be stopping by for a cocktail (or 3)!

I would give Thoreau's more stars if I could. Exquisite service and delicious food. I was dining at Thoreau's for my birthday and they made sure each detail was special. My waitress was attentive and thoughtful throughout the service. Could not recommend this restaurant more.

Like everything here at Wequassett, the food and service are top notch. The menu is driven by what is current at the flagship Twenty Eight Atlantic restaurant next door, but focuses on a bit more comfort food, lower priced entrees, and has no dress code! Plenty of outdoor seating with the resort's stunning views make this a hard to beat spot... The downside - no reservations! First come first serve with some bar seating and a comfy seating area inside for those awaiting a table. The whole resort is tip inclusive, so 18% is added automatically. The wine list is extensive - same as 28's - and sports some reasonably priced gems like the Sagrantino we enjoyed with our entrees. The clam chowder would have made my grandmother proud, and the oysters were fresh and satisfying - a glass of Chenin Blanc and a White Rioja hummed with this first course. Our food was terrific, a lobster fra diablo and 1/4 pound lobster roll sealed the deal. Service was excellent and we got to chat with the Food and Beverage manager about wines and life at Wequassett. We ate at each location on site during our stay. Loved them all in their own way!

Highest of recommendations!…read more Right in Route 28 as you head into Chatman Shopping District. Plenty of parking and open year round. Like the old Caswell's in Marshfield, you buy at a counter, they give you a number, and you sit on down as food is brought to you. The inside of Mac's is very clean and spacious, and has about twenty tables. There is seating outside - seasonal and today is January, with snow... so we stayed inside. Started off with the Mac's Clam Chowder which was a lovely milk broth - just as good as the chowder at the Clark Cooke House in Newport, Rhode Island! Homemade, flavorful and not jammed with excessive potatoes or onion; the clams were cooked well. I had the fish soup, looked almost like Portuguese Kale, but was very delicious, had a bit of heat to it, the fish was downright incredible; the carrots, celery, and onions were cooked to perfection. We usually get some raw bar, and they have a nice selection of little necks, cherry stones, and oysters, but today for us it was a pound and half of steamed clams. Plump, clean, and sand free. Just as good as those at Mattakeese Wharf Restaurant. Lobster... I asked for a two pounder, and got a 2.5 pounder. Fresh, delicious, succulent, and sweet. Wonderful and hard working staff. No negatives whatsoever.

I went for their current advertised Lobster roll special at $23.99. Ordered Exactly as advertised and was charged $25.99. I asked first if it was all claw and knuckle or if they use tail meat too. Oh, definitely both , she exclaimed! I found one small mangled piece of tail at the bottom and it included a sharp piece of shell that hurt my tongue. I told them and showed her the shell. All she did was explain how they try to get it all but they just can't sometimes. I looked at her and said that they aren't doing it right. I asked if she was going to offer me a partial refund and she refused. The Lobster bisque was not a bisque and I don't think there was any lobster in the kitchen when it was made, much less in the pot!! Cole slaw was covered in spicy pepper and neither of us could eat it. Fries were meh! My husband had the fried scallop platter and they were overcooked and super greasy. Disgustingly so. I DK why people like this place but there are so many good places around here where you can get a full service meal, in a real restaurant cooked by real trained chefs and served by professionals who know how to make consumers happy. Total bill with tip was $84.07!!! For a crappy meal with no service and not a clue about customer service. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this garbage.

What stands out: Some of the Peruvian / Colombian offerings are fantastic. Staff have a deep sense of kindness and hospitality. Even though they close at 8 p.m., they not only took the Pardner's just-under-the-wire order, but didn't rush us in the least. It wasn't until we'd finished and were on our way out that we noticed the hours -- and that we were 20 minutes past eight. The lobster ceviche was a touch spendy for the price, size, and the amount of lobster included in the dish. But it was very tasty, Peruvian in style and garnished with cancha and sweet potato, just the right amount of heat and acid. Empanadas were, I think, Colombian in style, made out of orange-tinged masa, beautifully deep fried with juicy innards -- wonderful. Tacos were made out of a soft flour tortilla and a hard corn taco shell, I guess not unlike a Taco Bell "chalupa." It was not what the Pardner was hoping for, unfortunately. There were two tacos to an order, which averaged out to be $9 or $10 a taco. Probably a bit steep for those of us who are lucky enough to be in a place where good south and Latin American food is more commonplace. This is the kind of menu I want to get to know. Not everything is to our own personal tastes, but there are some things that this place seems to do very, very well. I'd like to come back for those.
