I'm glad I listened to good advice from a frequent Cape Cod traveler. Pearl is a great stop in Wellfleet for happy hour cocktails and seafood. Very nice harbor view from upper deck. The service provided by hostess and our waiter, Andrew was excellent. Seated promptly and food and beverages just as fast. Laid back feel as we listened to house band jam away. All the seafood dishes being served looked fresh and fantastic. We opted for light fare this time with peel and eat shrimp in their house seasoning very similar to Old Bay. We love Wellfleet so after walking around and doing a little shopping at several of the cute shops, we noticed-COCKTAIL TIME-was upon us! (It's a thing we do ) We were headed to a different spot when we heard some great live music. Screech! Change of plans. We looked up reviews and Pearl had some mixed experiences but I still liked what I saw. And heard! Our experience was nothing short of perfect. Clean restrooms, well-organized staff on busy Father's Day starting with the hostess, terrific service, cold, refreshing cocktails, yummy soup, the freshest (large!) poke' bowl, and battered, thick fish and chips which we struggle to find when on the Cape. Awesome food! It took a long time to get seated, but good on them for getting so much traffic. We ended up coming on a live music day too, so I'm sure that impacted the wait time. This is the place to be if you're in Wellfleet. There's a band on most afternoons during happy hour and every comes out so expect it to be busy. While I didn't love the lobster rolls, their fried shrimp are both huge, juicy and delicious. Get a plate as appetizers or the shrimp tacos. Both are great! Many vegetarian options is a stretch. Food was ok. Had an underwhelming burrata salad-better with some salt and pepper. Summer spritz was ok. My husband enjoyed his fish taco. Veg burger was not something would order again. If you are sitting on top deck, bring a coat or sweatshirt-it gets windy and cold up there. This is like the Beachcomber of the other side of Wellfleet except it's not on the beach, it's across the street from the harbor. It's a fun place (lots of T-shirts for sale) with inside and outside seating. The food was good but not great. Probably best to stick to basic bar foods. Had the shrimp bang bowl which was good, a veggie burger which was decent and a salmon burger (which was the substitute for a mahi mahi burger) which was average. It's not cheap - quality should be a bit better for the price. Waitstaff was nice and efficient. read more

I have not been in years. We stopped in on the busiest summer day, July 4. We were immediately seated upstairs on the deck with glorious views of the harbour. Our server was friendly and efficient. Let me start off by saying the oysters are a must get. They are very good and you really can't go wrong being in Wellfleet. Getting to the entrees I ordered my steak rare and it came out closer to medium, the temperature was cold on the outside so most likely the timing was off with the other meals in the order and it sat. A 2pm start on the weekend for lunch proved perfect timing for our party of 5. Everything we selected to eat or drink came out the right time in the correct order & without a long wait. I've been here a couple times now and I like it. The restaurants in the town of Wellfleet can have parking challenges especially in the summertime. Luckily there's a large public lot across the street from The Pearl which is extremely helpful. Expect it to be busy even after Labor Day if it's a weekend. It's not fancy and not air conditioned so beware but it's got a nice Cape Cod vibe to it. Food is pretty basic but good. For apps the Banging Shrimp are good as are the nachos. My favorite is the poke bowl. The tuna and avocado are very fresh and tasty. I definitely recommend it. The bar tenders and servers are friendly even when the place is busy. They have tables on the roof where you can see the water so sit up there if you can. Prices are fair for the Cape and considering what you get. Overall it's a pretty good place and a nice way to spend your time on the Cape. read more

Very very fresh Wellfleet oysters, see picture 2. Service is normally nice even though they always have a lot of people 3. Generous portion for entrees 4. Right on the pier and it's very enjoyable to take a walk after you eat Cons: 1. Don't take reservation, but that's typical on the Cape. Expect to wait for 30-40 minutes during peak time if you have a party of 4+ 2. All of our stomachs were slightly upset after eating. Unsure whether it's from drinking the super cold water, or the seafood. Hence the four stars. It was not super bad, and we've eaten here so many times in the past without a problem. read more

Our first time dining here, and regretting we didn't come the last 2 years! After a not so great experience elsewhere last year we gave this a try. AMAZING. The quahog app was beyond delicious. Our other appetizers (calamari and some raw bar) fantastic. The tuna entree was beyond what I expected. Our server, Elena made it all that much better. So pleasant and attentive. While outdoor seating is available on the rooftop, there was a longer wait for that area and we opted to stay inside. During our visit, we enjoyed a plate of the nachos, and all tried the Fish & Chips. The nacho plate was really good. We appreciated the very shareable size of the plate and the abundance of jalapenos. The Fish & Chips were typical, nothing I'd travel for, but there was nothing wrong with them either. They were just OK. The fans inside did not keep up with the body temperature of all of the patrons and it's quite opened to the outside, so don't pop in expecting to cool off. It was only slightly less humid than it was outside. The service was great, we were checked in on regularly and were never without a drink. All in all, if I'm in the area again and hungry, I'd pop in for a plate and a few drinks, but I wouldn't travel out of my way to visit. read more
