    My new fav!

A must-visit in the area, The Beachcomber is a very fun, laid back beachfront restaurant with a few choice items that I loved. First off, I may have had my favorite cocktail here recently, the Cruzan Confusion (many humorous cocktail names!) consisting of coconut rum, mango rum, and pineapple juice. What's a more perfect summer beverage than that? I also had the best form of mussels I've ever had in the form of an appetizer, being garlicy and dipped in butter. The cod fish sandwich and fried clam roll I had on my second visit were both great, and the menu is expectedly filled with great seafood choices and a fun, seafaring atmosphere throughout. It's a party here, so bring the family and have an awesome night! There's also a full merch table section with some fun shirts and sweatshirts, as well as two bars, one inside and one outside with a view of the ocean on the horizon.

You don't come here for the food, you come here for the experience and because it's the closest restaurant near the beach. Dishes are not fussy and served on paper plates while you try not to elbow your neighbors sitting besides you in plastic chairs but who cares? The food is tasty, the portions are large and the ocean decor is on full display while you enjoy your scallops, fried oysters and calamari. My only complaint is that so many of the dishes are fried. It would have been great to see more things like the seared scallops which were delicious and fresh. I also tried their house root beer which tasted like bottled A&W. Come here for the experience and to say you dined at the Beachcomber! It's a busy and fun experience although the food won't be anything special.

This place is so cool. A cape cod must. Nothing fancy here, but the food and vibe is fabulous. The mudslide was delicious, love that there is a window to order food/drinks while you wait for a table. The ahi tuna was so fresh an delicious.

Five stars for the vibes, drinks, raw bar and views. Been coming here ever since I was 4 and will keep coming back as long as it's here. Nothing better than a beach day at cahoon hollow followed by goombays and the raw bar at the outdoor bar. Summer truly does start and end here

Always a long line here even on a rainy/cloudy day! We were waiting before the restaurant even opened but once they did, they seated us really quickly. Our waitress was very kind and attentive and I was impressed by how quickly she was able to take care of all of us. We ordered a variety of appetizers to start with (onion rings, oysters, mussels, mozzarella sticks), everything was tasty. I got the lobster salad and that was shockingly large - I've never had so much lobster in my salad before, generous is definitely an understatement here

Fun atmosphere and great location. Mozerella sticks had an awesome cheese pull and fish sandwich is exactly what you would expect. Wait staff was also awesome would recommend!

Almost impossible parking. So popular that if you are lucky enough to get a spot, the line for drinks at the bar is 6 people deep. Table limits for food are 45 minutes. Bartender was pretty good. The namesake Rose in a can is from a local winery and is pretty good. We just stopped for drinks; but I almost wished we hadn't. We came on a Sunday afternoon. Maybe it would be better midweek.

On a chilled November evening, my family tucked ourselves into the warmth of The Wicked Oyster for a meal we're already reminiscing about only 24-hours later. Chosen for their namesake, we ordered six raw oysters upon arrival. This was my mom and brother's first raw oyster, and they became converts upon first slurp. Though I know they're spoiled to have such exceptional oysters as their first, I don't begrudge them the experience. That initial serving of oysters went down with such rave reviews, we were left with no other choice but to expedite a repeat order. To start, I crunched on the Little Gem Salad and dreamt of slathering every meal in it's sherry mustard vinaigrette. It was just the thing to occupy my mind and palate in anticipation of the main course. Diagnosed with a "Hankering For Red Meat," I chose the 8oz Hanger Streak (pictured.) If I could pen this entry in drool, I would. The meal was sublime on every count. I wanted to linger, to draw out the night as long as possible. But all good things must come to and end, and so must our night at The Wicked Oyster. Played out by a live cellist (!), we floated to the car with leftovers in hand, dreaming of a restaurant like this at home, while thankful for the preservation of memory. The Wicked Oyster will live on in our minds, hearts, and stomachs for years to come...

Apparently, the owner wanted to re-focus on that part of the business. *shrug* I used to come here around opening and see a lengthy line. The croissants are some of the best in the area. The plain croissant is flaky and light. The ham & cheese croissant is more of a croque monsieur and it's a pretty substantial offering, full of cheese, ham, and béchamel sauce. The individual tarts (lemon, raspberry, etc.) and cakes are beautifully designed and are appropriately sweet. The tart crusts were legit. I'll miss coming here for pastries/desserts. The sauce was too spicy, even for someone like me who likes spicy food, and it just didn't taste all that great. The bun soaked up the sauce and basically turned to mush and the sandwich falls apart in your hands, so I used a knife/fork. What I loved: The waiter asked me how I liked the sandwich, and I said matter-of-factly that it was too spicy. I wasn't complaining -- after all, I ate the damn thing, lol. Before I knew it, the cook came out, apologized, the waiter apologized and said it was her fault for not telling me it was spicy etc. etc. The cook offered to cook something else (I declined) and took the meal off the bill. There's plenty of bike parking by the beer yard. It was a nice day so we wanted to sit outside and have a few beers in the Hog Island beer garden. Service was great. They were getting prepared for the busy season training some folks, and everyone was very friendly and hospitable. The beer garden itself was a huge grassy area with plenty of seating, a mix of picnic tables and regular tables with chairs. Despite it being right by the woods it didn't seem too buggy which was really nice. After hanging out a bit we decided to get dinner there. We were able to order food right at the beer garden and pick it up at the take out window. The food was awesome! We got a bowl of clam chowder, loaded tater tots, and the Rt 6 bacon cheeseburger with a side of greens. First, they're not messing around when they say 'loaded' tots! Some places put a sad little drizzle of cheese sauce on top, but theirs were thoroughly covered with a delicious beer cheese sauce, fresh bacon, and scallions. The clam chowder was great! Not too thick, lots of clams and clam flavor. And the burger was amazing! A nice, thick, juicy patty that was perfectly cooked, a really fresh brioche style bun with lots of flavorful toppings. We walked through the restaurant itself to use the bathroom and it seemed like they had a lot of seating, a nice bar, and a patio area. The only bathrooms being inside the restaurant was a little annoying, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they'll have some port-o-potties by the beer yard come the full fledged busy season. Overall a really nice time and we look forward to returning!
