i think any time a place has merchandise the second you walk up it should be a little bit of a red flag that it is a tourist trap and it made me want to turn around, but it was late and we needed some grub. great outdoor seating area. this seems more of a local spot and less of a show stopping seafood spot. fishermans platter offered more than expected but i wasn't as impressed as i thought i would be - still, chowed this down within 30 minutes. service was quick and kind and happy to seat us. good spot - maybe need fryer oil changed?

As ubiquitous as the beaches, lobster rolls define Cape Cod. The toasted buns, the heaping mound of lobster meat, the tang of the cole slaw. Staying in North Truro, having Captain's Choice nearby meant I didn't have to battle summer traffic on Rt.6. My order was placed and ready for pick-up in 5 minutes. The lobster roll hit the spot --- pure comfort and all was right in the world once more. Their homemade chips offer something unique and tasty, though unfortunately I found them a little overdone. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, friendly and efficient service, easy parking, and a sure bet for your seafood hankerings.

Was driving back down the cape and wanted a lobster roll and that was what Captain's Choice was advertising, so we stopped and ate our lobster roll. It was definitely worth the stop. The service was really friendly and unlike a lot of east coast restaraunts, they continued to fill up our soda and water. The lobster roll was fresh and had great flavor. Also, I really liked the coleslaw, which isn't too surprising, give that I am a big slaw fan. The chowda was good too. Just overall everything that we got on the menu was great. So it is worth the time to go.

For some wishful reason, I thought it was a full-out gay bar, but no, when we heard the booming voice of the drunken slattern at the bar, we knew it was a place that welcomed anybody and everybody. Nothing wrong with that but some show tunes would've been nice. We soon realized P-Town doesn't really have straight bars, just different flavors of gay ones. The bartender was friendly, but the vibe was off for us. We weren't into pool or ping-pong but still made time for a couple of their signature cocktails in paper cups, the $16 Margarita for Jamie and the $14 Blue Hawaiian for me (Photo 2). You have to walk up a slight hill on Carver Street to get here, and it was no surprise that it was relatively packed with all the terrace seats taken. And yet, the ambiance was quite chill. Everyone was looking relaxed and definitely not on the make. Customers skewed a tad older here, which made us feel right at home. We were particularly impressed that the veteran bartender had a mixing container dedicated to their espresso martinis, so of course, we ordered a pair for $16 each (photo: https://yelp.to/VmjWNmEyk0). Just away from the hustle and bustle of rt 6 rests this unassuming restaurant tucked into the pines. When you enter you instantly get a cozy tavern vibe with brick and wood, and part of their dining room is partially underground with views of the surrounding hostas and ferns. I believe their space was a smithy once upon a time. The setting is rustic, but the service is fantastic and what you'd expect in fine dining. Waitstaff is knowledgeable about the offerings and attentive without being overbearing. The food is amazing. When you're sick of fried clams and French fries you should come here and reset. I've had several different dishes here, but I always come back for the tuna bolognese. It may sound crazy, but it's absolutely delicious. The fresh pappardelle is always perfectly toothsome, and the lemon and ricotta sends it over the top. Their desserts are always 10/10 too. The panna cotta we had tonight was so fresh and bright, the perfect way to end a meal. Definitely a great spot for a special occasion or just a treat! Just a note: The parking lot is fairly small and unpaved. There is one accessible designated spot by the front door.
