I don't often write restaurant reviews, but I've been to Helltown Kitchen several times and feel like they've earned one. They've been consistently excellent--great food, warm service, and a lively, comfortable atmosphere. The dishes are always flavorful and satisfying, and the lobster risotto, in particular, is outstanding. It's rare to find a place that delivers this well, every time.

Tonight's dinner was one of the best I have eaten in Provincetown. The appetizer spring rolls were superb, the short ribs over Mac and Cheese were the best Mac and Cheese I have ever eaten. The lobster risotto is without equal. Lastly, the tres leches was sinfully wonderful. The service was prompt and gracious and the ambiance was equal to the food.

I came to Helltown Kitchen with my family already knowing what I was going to order. I ordered the shrimp vindaloo and it came with rice and naan. The food was amazing. I order the vindaloo every time I stop by. We also really enjoy the outdoor seating, and the service is really quick. If you stop by Helltown Kitchen be sure to check out the interior because their wall decorations are beautiful and the wallpaper stands out. There are a lot of great options, even though I usually stick to the same thing. I've also gotten a taste of the Elote Corn. I haven't visited the restaurant a lot during my visits but every time I stop by, I love the experience.

We went twice in three days this year. Favorite restaurant in Provincetown; small and eclectic menu, excellent service, relaxing and elegant atmosphere and dog-friendly. A win-win-win. Look at the photos: we loved the avocado crab salad as an appetizer (I would have that one for lunch!). I tried both the lobster risotto on one night and the black rice scallop risotto on another instance - can't decide on which one I love more. My dinner partner had the steak (in a coconut sauce - superhealthy) and the seafood medley. All cooked to perfection and very recommended. Bottom line: this is our very favorite restaurant in P-town. 5 stars for food, atmosphere, service, comfort, privacy and elegance. And superb staff and owner. I suspect one of the reasons we'll be back to Ptown next year, will be to dine at Helltown.

    Beautiful back patio

Helltown is the place to be! The food was FANTASTIC and wonderfully prepared. There is great outdoor seating in a lovely back patio as well as indoor dining too! The staff are incredibly friendly and hardworking. What a beautiful place!

OK food but over-priced, not unusual for P-town of course. The staff is proficient and the ambiance is very nice.

While some loved the moody, dark basement vibe of the old space and others hated it, the new spot is a complete flip--bright, airy, with huge windows and great patio seating. They even saved a few old decorations as a nice nod to the past. We celebrated a friend's birthday here, and having the amazing Holly as our server made it even better. She's taken care of us tons of times at the original location and always goes above and beyond for us. Thanks, Holly! The food was flawless. Huge, piping-hot portions of the Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Donini Pasta, Chicken Francese, Chicken Parm, and rack of lamb. Somehow, we still found room to scarf down the flourless chocolate cake and bread pudding for dessert. They are going to be slammed during the busy season, especially being located at the ferry dock. Evidently the restaurant had to relocate to another location but failed to indicate such on their website and being no one answers their phone or returns call, how would one know? We ordered appetizers: pasta fagioli soup, and a wedge salad. And bread is a menu item now. The soup was noticeably salty but the killer was the wedge salad. Basically a head of iceberg with a few dribbles of blue cheese dressing and a tablespoon of blue cheese. We asked our server for more dressing and we received the smallest additional portion with an equally smaller portion of blue cheese ( note the salad dressing has no blue cheese in it) accompanied by a dollop of attitude. The main dishes were equally disappointing: chicken francaise that didn't look like chicken francaise with chicken that was chewy. Eggplant and chicken parm with cold penne pasta and eggplant parm that was tough. Fine dining at it's best! Not! And prices for these dishes in the thirty dollar range. I wish we had remained lost that night, would have saved $175. Definitely not worth it and we won't be back.

Great menu with lots of choices, good adult beverages, nice views, and a welcoming and warm vibe by the staff. We tend to stick to the basics as I had clam chowder and a lobster salad roll, while my husband had whole belly clams. Yum! Thank you Piotr for his attentive service. We also enjoyed hearing other servers and their friendly engagement with customers. The Lobster Pot is a classic and you must go.

They make incredible lobster, but they make a whole lot more than that. This is an old school restaurant that runs like a well oiled machine. It will invoke nostalgia for you without feeling old and stuffy. There's a beautiful view of the harbor through the wall to wall windows around the dining room, and a small outdoor dining deck as well. The service is incredibly friendly from everyone and they absolutely hustle. I had the best lobster of my life here this year. It was a beautiful hard shell lobster absolutely stuffed with meat. Flambeed and roasted with a brandy butter sauce. It came out piping hot coated in that delicious sauce. It was to die for. My husband had the Cajun bouillabaisse which was loaded with perfectly cooked fish and shellfish all in a rich, spicy broth. You would think the orzo it was served with might be an afterthought, but it was divine and buttery, mixed with some lentils and grains. What an astounding meal! We'll be back next year of course!
