    Tuna tartare tacos
    Makani S.

Fresh, local and incredibly kind/ attentive service. The star of the show is the clam chowder. Chunky, filled with clams and tasted homemade. We also tried the tuna tartare tacos which were so flavorful! It tastes like poke in a taco form: fresh layer of guacamole, marinated tuna, topped with seaweed and sesame seeds. Only wish there were more vegetarian options on the menu. Overall, I'll return for the clam chowder any day!

The steak and cheese sandwich brings you here in and of itself! It's one of the best I have ever had. Everything you can get here is incredible, and tasty and fresh.

We went to the ocean to watch the sunset and because of that it was after 8 and practically all the restaurants on route six were closed or closing. We elected to come back to the local break since we were here two nights ago and had such a great experience. Tonight we ordered the clam appetizer which was absolutely amazing. It was made with olives, grape tomatoes, capers, white wine and obviously the clams. It was to die for. Served with two pieces of Crostini it was the perfect appetizer to share. For the entrée we got the house cheeseburger which was also amazing. We elected to upgrade to the sweet potato fries with the most amazing Cajun maple dipping sauce. The waitress, Erin, was nice enough to even split the burger for us on two separate plates. For dessert we got the Keylime tart and a s of carrot cake, both of which were divine. The kitchen staff is to be commended, along with the service staff and the entire establishment. It's is such a great place.

From the outside gravel lot and simple string white lights, honestly, even from outside, you'd swear this was just another casual flip-flop Cape spot. The energy is pumping, the crowd is spilling onto the patio and the bar area might seem as it could double as a summer beach club. Inside, though, the navy and white style keeps things crisp, nautical and just slightly elevated enough without trying too hard. It's relaxed, but you can feel there's something more beneath the surface. Even with our res, we waited a bit- which wasn't a problem. Once we were seated, the service snaps into a bit casual/a bit fine-dining gear- it's attentive but not stuffy. Caroline's menu is where the "casual" mask fully drops. It's Cape Cod, so of course oysters are a must- cold, briny and perfect. Then the main plates push things a little higher: my halibut was cooked to perfection, was meaty and silky. My husband's linguine+clams was another hit- garlicky and decadent without being heavy. And the grand finale of them all was our dessert. I initially opted out of their chocolate pot de crème- but I gave in as their only chocolate item. I'm so happy we ordered it. Except, I misread the toasted marshmallow part in our dessert. I removed it and placed it on another plate. This so-called pots de crème had nothing custardy about it. It had the shape alright- but this was so freaking moussey- it was ultra heavenly. Our server Megan was a sweetheart from beginning to end. Caroline's is the kind of place that kind of says 'laid-back'- but the presentation, meal and pricing, all scream as your go-to destination that's a step-up from the ordinary. Obviously you aren't wearing your sequins dress here- but if Caroline's gave you a wink, it would say: you thought this was just a casual night out? Think again.

We chose clam and corn fritters, halibut tacos and fish and chips. The fritters were so crunchy and flavorful. They came with two dipping sauces. My husband really enjoyed the beer battered fish. Fried well and golden brown. My tacos were with pan seared halibut. They had two sauces on them which was the only part of the food I did not enjoy. But they were well prepared and I'm sure others would like the sauces. My only complaint of the night was that our waitress wasn't friendly or attentive. She looked really put out by any changes we wanted to make. But we will definitely go again and try more things and enjoy the upbeat atmosphere!

Upon entry, we were welcomed and shown to a booth and immediately asked what we wanted to drink. It was a great way to start! We looked at the menu and all of us made our decision for dinner rather quickly! Our drinks arrived and we placed our dinner order. I the smoked chicken plate with cornbread and fries. We also ordered a veggie burger and a cheeseburger one with fries and one with tater tots. As a side dish, we wanted to dry the coleslaw, which was rated a 10 by the two who tried it! Dinner arrived on-time and it was delicious. I had the chicken plate, which was tasty. The cornbread was awesome and the fries were great. I was happy for sure! The cheeseburger plate and veggie burger were rated very high by both parties who finished the entire plate. We were thinking about having some desert but eventually decided against it. The bill came and we were pleased with the total. Very fair Parking- ample Service- awesome Food- tasty Both Indoor and Outdoor places to eat One suggestion: use smaller trays to deliver food so it doesn't look like there is not enough food.....just my 2 cents! We did not stop in the bar....although, I did look in on the way out and the Red Sox were on......as I mentioned earlier, probably a great place to watch some football or sports on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday! There's plenty of bike parking by the beer yard. It was a nice day so we wanted to sit outside and have a few beers in the Hog Island beer garden. Service was great. They were getting prepared for the busy season training some folks, and everyone was very friendly and hospitable. The beer garden itself was a huge grassy area with plenty of seating, a mix of picnic tables and regular tables with chairs. Despite it being right by the woods it didn't seem too buggy which was really nice. After hanging out a bit we decided to get dinner there. We were able to order food right at the beer garden and pick it up at the take out window. The food was awesome! We got a bowl of clam chowder, loaded tater tots, and the Rt 6 bacon cheeseburger with a side of greens. First, they're not messing around when they say 'loaded' tots! Some places put a sad little drizzle of cheese sauce on top, but theirs were thoroughly covered with a delicious beer cheese sauce, fresh bacon, and scallions. The clam chowder was great! Not too thick, lots of clams and clam flavor. And the burger was amazing! A nice, thick, juicy patty that was perfectly cooked, a really fresh brioche style bun with lots of flavorful toppings. We walked through the restaurant itself to use the bathroom and it seemed like they had a lot of seating, a nice bar, and a patio area. The only bathrooms being inside the restaurant was a little annoying, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they'll have some port-o-potties by the beer yard come the full fledged busy season. Overall a really nice time and we look forward to returning!

On a chilled November evening, my family tucked ourselves into the warmth of The Wicked Oyster for a meal we're already reminiscing about only 24-hours later. Chosen for their namesake, we ordered six raw oysters upon arrival. This was my mom and brother's first raw oyster, and they became converts upon first slurp. Though I know they're spoiled to have such exceptional oysters as their first, I don't begrudge them the experience. That initial serving of oysters went down with such rave reviews, we were left with no other choice but to expedite a repeat order. To start, I crunched on the Little Gem Salad and dreamt of slathering every meal in it's sherry mustard vinaigrette. It was just the thing to occupy my mind and palate in anticipation of the main course. Diagnosed with a "Hankering For Red Meat," I chose the 8oz Hanger Streak (pictured.) If I could pen this entry in drool, I would. The meal was sublime on every count. I wanted to linger, to draw out the night as long as possible. But all good things must come to and end, and so must our night at The Wicked Oyster. Played out by a live cellist (!), we floated to the car with leftovers in hand, dreaming of a restaurant like this at home, while thankful for the preservation of memory. The Wicked Oyster will live on in our minds, hearts, and stomachs for years to come...
