Shame on me. My sister and I have been coming to Eastham since 2008 and we've never been to Brick House before tonight. We had a warm greeting from the hostess, and were seated right away. Our waitress was very sweet, attentive and moved like lightning. We had a specialty Martini, no problem to switch liquors, shared a delicious salad (plenty for two) had two delicious entrees. Overall, no negatives to report. Great, friendly service. Wonderful food, with something for everyone and a very nice atmosphere. Fantastic meal, with great service. Linda, our waitress, was very sweet and thoughtful. She was very communicative and attentive even given how busy it wasn't the food was wonderful- we had the cauliflower appetizer ( delicious with lots of flavor) the orange rum scallops ( fantastic) and the jerk pork. We had a wonderful dining experience here. The entrance from the highway is very clear. A plus when it is dark outside. The lot nicely paved; not the case everywhere. It was a bit loud in the restaurant, but no biggie. The service was excellent! The food from our appetizers to our dessert was of the highest quality. Kudos to the chef. Food was okay - edible but nothing to write home about. Service was also mid - our waitress was very friendly but it seemed as though she was the only one working and covering all tables. Also did not seem knowledgeable about the menu. Got scallops and fish & chips which was supposed to come with tartar sauce and we were served blue cheese (there was a giant lump of moldy cheese in the cup). Went for early bird special. Saturday Jan 17 2026. Place was packed at 5:15. Glad we made reservations. Hubby had fish and chips. Humongous portions of fish and chips. I got the steak tips. Perfectly prepared and the mushroom sauce was very tasty. Came with mashed potatoes and grilled carrots, plus house salad. All for $21!!!!!!! Even though the waitstaff is stretched thin, they are all cheerful, kind, and helpful. Plus our food was delivered HOT. That is a pet peeve of mine and one that causes me to be very unhappy. I really would only give them a 2.5. Definitely not what it used to be. The hostess belittled us because we didn't have a reservation but a couple who who came in after us had a reservation and she thanked them and said we save our best seats for our customers who make reservation no where on line did I read reservations were required because I would have made one. They weren't even busy when we arrived about 4:30 and left at 6 not even half full. As for the food I would have expected better for the price. We had the rum orange scallops. It was $38and it came with boxed mashed potatoes. I have gone to other places and had better meals for a cheaper price. Not sure I will go back. read more

Short Version: I've been here twice; once outside during Covid and then Feb 2025. Both times the meals were decent but not memorable and the service was very sloooooooooow. Longer Version: It's open year round so that's good if you're looking for somewhere in the area to eat off-season. It's also quite large and has a fireplace but feels a bit too wide-open and lacks any real ambiance. The menu is pretty good but the wine list isn't much. But then again this isn't really a fancy wine kind of place. As stated apps and meals are decent but nothing really special. Prices are reasonable considering the area and overall quality and portion sizes. When it's busy it seems like service is slow. It felt like the kitchen was behind and it wasn't really the waitstaff's fault. Just be prepared I guess. Overall it's a decent place but on-season there's a number of other places between Orleans and Wellfleet that might be better choices. read more

For the past several years we have been spending several weeks on the Cape, arriving after Labor Day. Although we don't mind cooking at home, we really enjoy venturing out and discovering the various restaurants. For some reason, we always drove right by The Brickhouse without ever considering it. However, we spotted their early bird special offerings and thought we would give it a try. Greeted by the most friendly of hostesses, we were given an option of picking our table. (Wasn't crowded at 5PM) We started off with a dozen oysters on the half shell which were freshly shucked Wellfleets, cold and excellent! Included with the early bird special meals was either a salad or clam chowder. Well, we both went with the clam chowder and were not disappointed. Served piping hot and exactly the right consistency, very tasty and have had nothing better on the Cape. The entrees entrées were very tasty, made to order and served hot. The portions were exceedingly generous, and we wound up taking some with us. A special shout-out to our server, Linda, who could not have been better. She was very attentive and full of information. We can't forget to note that the music was gently in the background which enabled us to easily converse throughout dinner. Kudos to the staff and especially to the chef, well done! Went here 9/19 as a group of 4 for dinner. The waitress was knowledgeable and helpful. Based on her recommendation we ordered the brussels sprout appetizer for the table. Generous portion and was good. I had the clam belly special with was advertised as 1/2 lb serving with french fries and cole slaw. I substituted extra cole slaw for the french fries. I liked the fact that the cole slaw had no mayonaise, but it was very heavy on vinegar and possible sugar. I had about half and left the rest. The clam bellies portion looked small, but It did not come with a scale. They were small pieces, some bellies and over cooked. A friend recommended this place hamburgers. I won't be back to test that recommendation. read more

We are somewhat frequent visitors to the Brickhouse. Our most recent visit was for Father's Day dinner. Our experience was mixed, notably different from our previous visits, where everything was great. The restaurant's ambiance is nice, low-key casual, as one would expect on the Cape. Kudos for that. Our server was friendly and prompt. One complaint: one of our party (of three) ordered a salad as an appetizer. It didn't arrive until we asked about it when our entrees arrived. No damage done - we got the salad in a to-go box - but mildly annoying. This was the only exception from otherwise perfect service. Our food was very much a mixed bag. I ordered the seared sesame-crusted ahi tuna. It was perfectly prepared, however, the taste and texture were a bit off, as if the dish had spent more than a little time in the fridge between searing and serving. Not a disaster and certainly not worth sending back to the kitchen, but surprising because quality has always been better. My wife had the panko-crusted haddock; the presentation was nice, but the fish was overcooked. Again, not worth sending back, but a departure from the excellent quality we've come to expect. On a bright note, our daughter ordered the seafood-stuffed-sole special, which was awesome. In summary, I hope this experience is an anomaly and doesn't represent the decline of a once-fine restaurant. We'll be back, and we'll be hopeful. We'll see. read more

The brick house was a very casual place to bring your wife or girlfriend and have a nice meal the service was very good she was on top of her game. They have a full bar and ice cold beer food was excellent.. can't complain there was plenty they are only open certain days until the end of the month and then they are open every day read more

Decent entree, drink, and service. So why the low rating? Read on; last impressions count big. I had fish and chips. A thick piece of cod with a crispy batter. The batter didn't cling to the fish as well as it should but the fish was fresh and correctly cooked so not bad. But the portion was small: more appropriate for the fish sandwich (which they also had, at a lesser price) than the platter. Fries were good and obviously house-made and unadorned with gimmicks like seasonings, batter, truffle oil, etc. They were not needed. The cole slaw was probably one of the best I've had anywhere: tangy, light and sweet, more vinegary then mayonnaisey. But way too small! Like a ketchup cup's worth. Two bites and gone. I have a peeve about the small cole slaw portions commonly served with seafood dinners but that was just ridiculous. Considering the entree, drink (a fairly standard rum punch), service (no issues) we're at 3 stars. But all good feelings were lost when I tried the dessert, which I got to go and had later. Flourless chocolate cake: one of my favorites. This was the WORST EVER, by far. Ideally this should be dense, with a smooth even texture, a low moisture level, bittersweet and with an intense chocolate flavor. This failed in every possible way: It was ridiculously sweet, sticky, and with a texture that reminded me of waterlogged gingerbread. NO discernible chocolate flavor, all I got was sugar. Anything to dress it up a bit? Some powdered sugar on top? A bit of raspberry coulis underneath? A dollop of whipped cream? Shaved chocolate? A mint leaf? Nope. Nothing but the slice. The portion? Well they offered 2 sizes: "half" for $5 and "whole" for $9. Since I was getting it to go I opted for the whole. When I received it I looked and had to ask: Is this the whole? She assured me it was. It was 1 1/2" inches at the widest point! I'd hate to think what they served for the half! So at dessert time: 1 bite: hmm, that doesn't seem right. 2nd: Wow, this is terrible. a 3rd bite to be sure. Then the rest right into the trash. I have NEVER thrown away a dessert, but this was that bad. If I hadn't gotten it to go I'd have complained and asked to take it off the bill (and raised a stink if they refused) but instead I had to open a box of cookies to take the bad taste away and write this review which I feel compelled to do because of how astoundingly bad it was. read more

We had dinner here last night and admittedly I was a bit worried due to some of the reviews. No worries as it was very good. The food- I had the halibut which was delicious. Whipped mashed potato's were so so good! My husband had the linguine with mussels which too was delicious. Warm bread rolls. Atmosphere was nice- very open. It was a little chilly due to bad weather and everyone had their coats on. Music is a bit loud but you can still have a conversation. Our waitress was Linda and she was excellen! By my count she had 8 or 9 tables and while very busy, she was still friendly and attentive. And knew the menu very well. The cons are- no salad or soup is included with your meal ( unless you had the early bird specials before 5:30). Prices are reasonable for the Cape but portions seem are smaller for the price. As said above Linda was great however I think it is unfair to her and customers to have one waitress have so many tables. All in all we would return knowing now what we would be getting. read more

Where to start???? The Brussel Sprouts were so yummy! I then ordered the Beet Salad second which was also amazing! The Dijon dressing made it! Then to the Orange Rum Scallops which came with Mashed Potatoes, Carrots, and Green Beans! They were so fresh and the Glaze was very delicious! The Mashed were some of the best I have had in a while! Buffalo cauliflower is usually either air fried or baked and then there's battered and fried. These are battered and fried. Honestly I prefer them like this. Asking it's fresh or the distributor they get them from do a good job. Either way, they aren't mushy and have a nice crunch to the outside. To many places you go when they fry them, they are mushy and lack a firm outside and assistance or interior. Nice classic Buffalo sauce as well. Blue cheese doesn't seem to be home made. Quohog stuffed clam. This was the disappointment of the meal. Way to much stuffing and lacking the flavor of the seafood. Alot of stuffing that overpowers the whole thing. Finally got to try Brickhouse! I've been wanting to for a long time. It's a strange time because of Covid so the atmosphere may feel differently under normal circumstances. This night, the place was empty. Just us and one other table, but the staff was super attentive and friendly. I got the braised short ribs over potatoes and it was delicious. Extremely tender and flavorful. All I wanted it to be! My husband got the chicken parmesan and he really like his also. They have a good menu and a good staff so we will be visiting again soon! I had a BH burger which was good but not great - I asked to change the blue cheese for a different cheese and was told it would cost $1.50 - to swap one cheese for another?
