Diner alert - THIS PLACE IS EXPENSIVE. If you want cheap eats, this "ain't" the jedi you seek. Sorry. Keep on going. But if you venture into the dark side of hocking your home for a special dinner... The dining experience was EVERYTHING one could hope for in a restaurant of this caliber. Not a "Michellin Star" but certainly an approachable, reasonable, professionally kind and delicious dining experience. They have a dress code, but from my observation, the diners weren't as "fancy" as I thought they would be. Make no mistakes, this restaurant is on the high end of price range. And if you choose to take the plunge, expect to shell out a hefty price tag - WORTH EVERY PENNY. If you aren't swimming in dough, it's the kind of place reserved for something special - starting with the staff - all amazingly approachable, knowledgeable and polished in their appearance. "Emerils" quality staff (almost, because the serving is ALMOST as choreographed as the best Emeril experience). At the helm for us, Miss Vivienne (sp). WOW! Working herself up from room attendant to super server, this gem has been with the establishment for over 30 years. You can't fake this kind of loyalty - which solidifies the experience. BEAUTIFUL wine list. Now the food - ITS A LOT. A LOT for what a "tasting" menu/experience offers, its A LOT of food! 2 course tasting menu for $125, 4 course for $150 and a 7 course for $195. And its NOT etched in stone. It's your experience and the kitchen is open to your needs based on the menu offerings. Easily accommodating gluten sensitivies too. We opted for the 7 course meal. The "tasting" and swapped out the tenderloin and the lemongrass mousse. The bread was a warm and sultry herbed brioche with house made butter. Followed by 2 oysters, a yellow tomato gazpacho with Jonas Crab - luscious, perfectly seasoned with a creamy mouthfeel, so velvety. Carrots 3 ways - puree'd, roasted and slightly steamed adorned 3 HUGE and PERFECTLY executed scallops. By then, I was full! And out comes a true tasting of their lobster carbonara with Bucattini. I could have stopped there. But I ordered the Halibut. DOUBLE the portion I was served at STARS, perfectly seasoned, perfect temp with a squid ink paella style bomba rice with crispy chorizo and PERFECTLY poached squid. A FLAVOR BOMB offered with the butter wine sauce to be served at your discretion. My husband had the duck - it came 2 ways - pan seared and a shredded confit. DOUBLE the portion he was served cold at STARS. A lovely palate cleanser was provided in between the carbonara and the main course. And then dessert... I have rarely said that a dessert outshines the meal. If the meal was spectacular, the dessert was something out of my dreams! I swore Amaury Guichon was in the kitchen! I ordered an apple mousse with apple compote. Out came "an apple". I smashed the "skin" - an impossibly thin layer of white chocolate sprayed with red white chocolate. The mousse intact was ethereal and light and the apple fragrance just took me away. And if that wasn't enough, the delicate small diced firm compote was not overly sweet. SUBLIME. My husban had the Yuzu mousse with sesame icecream and chocolate twigs. A museum sculpture for sure. He is STILL talking about it. Almost $1000 later, we felt we had been to another place in time. And as we were about to say adios, Vivienne walks out with a little gem box with the daintiest cookies and confections. I simply couldn't eat more! We had dinner here while staying at the hotel and this restaurant exceeded all of our expectations. The staff was aware of our vegan preference and they brought a vegetarian menu letting us know that all items can be made vegan. It was too difficult to pick just a few items so we decided to go with the 7 course tasting menu. It was among the best vegan experiences we ever had from the amuse bouche to the dessert. Everything here is perfect! We got the four course meal. Started with the oysters, Waldorf salad and lobster carbonara. All of those dishes were fantastic. For mains we got the Wagyu and scallops. The Wagyu was amazing and the scallops were okay. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and sweet - perfect for our anniversary. It was a cloudy night so we didn't get a view but I can imagine how gorgeous it would have been without the fog. We will definitely be back! Top notch service, food and atmosphere. read more

Wow! Went to 28 Atlantic for our anniversary. Everything was superb from the time we were greeted until we left the restaurant. Seated at a table overlooking the water with great views We had the 2 course dinner which was plenty. Small taster before the first course then a sorbet between the first and second courses. I had the tomato soup first and duck second. Everything was prepared to perfection and simply delicious. My wife had lobster carbonara and steak which she thought were amazing. Service was excellent. Very attentive but not overly so. We split a green apple for dessert. It was a little different from what I expected but very good. We also had cappuccinos which were perfect. What I liked: The food was great. The view is great. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. What I did not like: Service was subpar. I'm not sure if the problem was the waitpersons or the kitchen but we were still waiting for food 1 1/2 hours after sitting down. Waitperson disappeared for long periods, so we did not have anything to drink with our meals. I always tip 20% no matter the service but I resented that the restaurant automatically included the 20% tip in the bill. Given the poor service, I found it presumptuous. We dined at 28 Atlantic for New Years Eve with 2 other couples. Food was great but then we went to pay with 3 cards and only one came back (mine), and they charged the entire (very expensive) meal to my card. They lost the other 2 cards and then told us they "looked at the video" and it looked like only one person took out their card - in other words, called us liars. Pretty shocking for a supposed 5-star restaurant. They eventually found the other 2 cards and said they'd comp the dinner for our trouble. Well, nearly a month has gone by and guess what, nothing. I've emailed and called - said they credited my card, but yet nothing shows up. I filed a card dispute, but it is absolutely shocking at how the management team has mishandled the situation. Mistakes happen but it's how they are handled that really separates the truly exceptional, and Wequasset has shown they are just another resort. Needless to say Chatham Bars will get my money next time. Giving one star here because zero isn't an option. read more

I so enjoyed the classic fine dining experience at Twenty-Eight Atlantic. Every point of contact with the guest is well thought out and carefully crafted to make you want to come back. We were a party of 5 with the perfect corner table near a window which had a stunning view of the property. Fun people watching from the corner table. My 3 course prix fixe meal (foie gras appetizer, striped bass, main course and molten choco' cake, dessert was all delicious and a great value because of all the extras. Not mentioned on the menu but also included was a palate prep starter, palate cleanser, as well as a plate of in-house made caramels. Don't know if someone from our party mentioned we had a birthday at the table. They also sent us home with a thank you card in a lovely bag that also housed a mini box of choco's from my fav' candy house in Chatham, The Candy Manor. The staff was friendly and attentive and explained the menu to us. We did the pre-fixe and they allowed our group to substitute a second course 1 in lieu of a dessert course. An okay brunch! The space here is beautiful, but the service is not as good as I would expect at a place this nice. We ordered bloody Mary's (the only drink option besides mimosas), which were excellent! For food, three of us got the lobster Benedict (absolutely delicious, generous amount of lobster) and one of us got the regular eggs benefit (also great). However, the potatoes that came with them were not my favorite, personally. The service was not the best and pretty slow (our waiter rarely checked on us and it was tricky to order drinks). Absolutely HORRIBLE! My fiancée and I were excited for a special Valentine's Day dinner at Twenty-Eight Atlantic, but what we experienced was nothing short of a disaster. The night started at the bar, where we ordered an espresso martini and a cosmopolitan. The bartender--an older gentleman with black hair--was clearly inexperienced and struggled to make even basic cocktails. It took him over 10 minutes to prepare my drink, using a shaker far smaller than the glass he was serving it in. He repeatedly got flustered, realized he hadn't made enough, and bizarrely poured vodka directly into the top of the sealed shaker. When he opened it, the extra vodka spilled all over his hands, and instead of starting over, he just handed me a half-filled martini. The couple sitting next to us, who witnessed the ordeal, laughed and even told me, "I wouldn't drink that." Unfortunately, the drinks weren't just poorly made--they were outright undrinkable. We're not picky drinkers, but both cocktails were so bad that we had to leave them untouched. Hoping the dinner service would be better, we moved to our table, only to be met with more disappointment. My fiancée politely told our waiter that her cosmopolitan was undrinkable and asked if she could order another cosmo. Instead of addressing the issue, he dismissively responded, "Well, everyone gets a glass of champagne tonight, so just drink that." It was rude, unhelpful, and completely unacceptable at a restaurant of this supposed caliber. She eventually managed to order a glass of wine from another server, but this was just the beginning of the service issues. Throughout our five-course meal, we barely saw our waiter--twice, to be exact. Our water glasses were never refilled, no one checked on us, and we were left entirely unattended. It wasn't just our table--service was abysmal across the board. The couple next to us, who had waited 45 minutes just to order, eventually gave up halfway through their meal, saying, "This is completely insane," before walking out without finishing their food. Another older couple nearby repeatedly complained about the lack of service, yet nothing improved. By the time we left, the incompetent bartender had disappeared, but the damage was done. This was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had, made worse by the fact that it was meant to be a special occasion. For the prices and reputation of this restaurant, the service, drinks, and overall experience were absolutely unacceptable. Save your time and money--go to Chatham Bars Inn, Bucca, or Del Mar instead. Twenty-Eight Atlantic failed on every level. read more

I really enjoyed having dinner here with my husband last Friday. Our table had a beautiful view of the water and near us was a pretty fireplace with a roaring fire going. The food was also delicious. The pork buns and short rib were amazing. The duck and yuzu curd were also very good. The staff notably went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. Gerald, in particular, was very helpful and kind. Its team members like him that can really create a memorable experience. I recommend 28 Atlantic for almost any occasion. Next to us was a date night, on our other side was what looked like a business dinner, there was also a really lovely bachelorette group. I was there for my birthday so it really is perfect for anything :) After dinner, we had drinks by the fire pits overlooking the ocean. Attention foodies! This place was REALLY good. It was our last night on the Cape. (I had to persuade my husband, who is a fan of budget-minded meals and fish & chips). But he was extremely glad we went. We were not staying at the resort, and I had made an online reservation. We arrived just at sunset, so I got some pictures of the views outdoors before dark. My husband ordered a mixed drink, and I ordered a demi bouteille of Duckhorn. The amuse bouche was a little dish of a tangy custard with a bite of a purple sweet potato crisp. They served a foccacia bread. We shared the poached shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was really fresh. Both of us ordered the Day Boat Scallops. They are pan fried, so slightly caramelized, served with some veggies and a delicious saffron sauce. For dessert, we shared the brie cheesecake. The only Forbes rated restaurant on the Cape. My husband and I usually go to Ceraldi, but this time - we both opted to try a different restaurant. The restaurant is about 15 minutes from Eastham, where we usually trek from during the summer. It is located on the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club in Harwich. The restaurant is situated on the back of the resort and overlooks Pleasant Bay. Upon going in, there is a stair well and it looks like a typical New England house, but when you go around the corner there is a reception desk to check in and a bar next to it that is adjoining the restaurant. We opted to sit inside because it's rather chilly during June at night. We sat in the dining room, right next to the window. We did the 7 course pre-fixe menu that I think was about 200 each. Gratuity is added onto the check, the wait staff lights that on the check, which is nice. Because in Las Vegas, they try to hide that autograt was added. LOL. The restaurant was one of the nicest we have been to with one of the best views. We always like to joke around and say, "Well, is it better than the singing frog at SW?" LOL. Definitely less tacky. HAHA. The waitress had someone she was training... but the waitress was top notch. You can tell she is educated on the food and the wines that she serves. Everything came out in a timely manner. And I have a lot of food allergies, so it was nice that I was able to do a lot of substitutions from the menu. So my husband kept his menu as it was made by the chef, but I had to change it. The price was the same and we were able to try a little bit more off the menu instead of us both having the exact same thing. There were a few times that the runner gave the wrong food to the wrong person; we realized it afterwards. Thank god my allergies are NOT severe... There was a change I made with dessert and instead of the trainee coming to tell me about how the dessert I chose had something I wouldn't be able to eat, she decided to bring out the dessert I changed to begin with. I think they should have discussed that with me instead of making the decision for me. So there were a few things wrong. I think if the waitress was by herself and if the runners paid a little more attention; this would have been the perfect experience. But, a few things were off. The location is hard to beat - the views stunning, and the menu offers the best of fresh local seafood, garden vegetables and creative culinary skill We ate here first ten years ago, while staying at another inn (that cannot hold a candle to Wequassett) and during our walk around the grounds, found a spot we knew would be on our list of places to stay in the future. We have had the pleasure of two meals here this week, both exceptional - whether it's a simple soup or a squid and shrimp boudin- or last night's bluefin tuna line caught yesterday. A burrata mousse among fresh heirloom tomatoes stood out for summer freshness, and the lamb loin the best lamb dish I ever had the pleasure of passing by my lips. Much attentiveness to my senior mother! She loved it. Food was the real hit. Highlights included lobster carbonara. Diver scallops, halibut on a cauliflower cous cous, an egg/potato/ asparagus app. Philadelphia dessert so good. They gave us great breads, an oyster soup taste (fantastic) and delicious box to go of caramelized sugar buns. What a touch of joy with that box. Last night we had another top notch experience at 28 Atlantic at Wequasset. A perfect place for big celebrations or a fancy night out. Gib the manager dropped by to check on us and our server Sharon was fantastic. The food was amazing. They have a new emphasis on sushi, the tuna came out of the ocean same day. My husband who is a sushi guy was raving about it. Tomato Bisque and chowders were exquisite. Lobster Carbonara, Grilled Bass and a delightful Pasta Fiori with veggies for entrees. Everyone was arguing about whose was best. My sil said it was the best dirty martini she'd ever had. Topped off by a lovely interior and gorgeous water views.
