    fish tacos

Grabbed a take out from here on our 1st Saturday at the Cape. From the photos one can see the fries came with practically everything, so why did we only get two little small packets of ketchup? A bit of quality control with service. The fried fish sandwich was good and crispy. All else (burger and fish tacos) were fine with the exception of the crab cakes, which with the breading made it too soggy and one couldn't tell difference between breading and where the crab is.

Glad we stopped for a late lunch at this spot. The clam chowder was full of clams and potatoes. Another hit was the fish sandwich which was huge and came with a big side of fries. The sliders looked impressive with the name The Den branded in the bun . The patties were overcooked however and not very tasty. We also enjoyed the cauliflower appetizer . Another highlight was the freshly brewed coffee which was very flavorful. Make this a stop if you are looking for a place with a large menu to satisfy everyone in the group.

What a pleasant surprise! We were a little nervous to try this place with our kids since they are picky eaters, but a fellow yelper said it was great for kids. We were thrilled with the menu. I was able to get the Thai Basil chicken, which was excellent. My husband ordered the poke bowl and our kids were able to get pizza. Not just frozen pizza, but a real pizza, that was yummy. (I stole a bite) So often when eating out with small kids we limit ourselves to chains or bar food, but we were excited to have a healthy meal with different flavors. We were seated right away and our service was quick. Very cute design inside, nice open space.

Came here for dinner one night and we sat outside on the patio. They have a lot of drinks to choose from. I got the lychee martini which was very good. For food I got the Caesar salad with steak tips. The salad was standard, nothing special. The steak had good flavor but was tough when cutting it.

The atmosphere, service and food was wonderful. The place was lively and everyone was having a great time around the bar. We enjoyed ourselves and will go back.

    Etzey Burger! Crispy fries!

Service was amazing! Bella is the best! The burger was so freakin good! Loved the atmosphere!

I don't know whether "upscale pub" is an oxymoron, or if the owners would use such a term for The Den, but I would. You have two distinct parts here. On the left you have the bar area, with seating all around, and several large TVs for your viewing pleasure (sports when possible, of course). On your right, you have the restaurant side, and when seated, you're given both their food and drink menus. The drink menu has a lot of variety, not necessarily as many beers as I might have expected, but you also have wine, sangria, cocktails, and even whiskey pours. I opted for their watermelon margarita, which was a tad sweet due to the sugar dusting on the rim. It went really well with my Korean Pulled Pork tacos. They had an appealing flavor, though I would have been fine with it being even spicier. We ordered three different types of tacos among our group. They come with fries, but you can upgrade those to either truffle fries or sweet potato fries (waffle cut). These all come with ketchup, which seems wrong for truffle fries and sweet potato fries, but we asked our server for some other types of dipping sauces, and she produced some. Our group also ordered salads, entrees, and pizza. Everything came out very quickly and all within about 90 seconds of each other. There are also daily specials on a blackboard, but that blackboard is behind the bar, you can't see it from every table on the restaurant side, and our waitress didn't happen to mention them to us. Be sure to check those out before ordering. I don't think you can go wrong here. The variety, service, and quality and speed of the delivered food are all exceptional.

I'd love to say more but only had chicken wings and cauliflowers appy. Beer is always good. Service was attentive even though we were light eaters albeit we left full;)

    Burger.

My family and I loved this place. The waitress was such a lovely young lady with such a positive atitude. The menu is extensive and has a great variety. We loved the Brazilian flan for desert.

The chefs are true artists, imagining and executing haute cuisine with skill, precision, and personality. We opted for the optional caviar starter course, which was brilliant. The caviar, served with Pringles potato chips and tangy egg salad, was an exquisite introduction to the tasting menu. The house-made sourdough focaccia with homemade butter may have been the best bread we've eaten. The dayboat scallop was pan-seared and paired with ginger whey-poached pork belly, Anson Mills Carolina Gold lobster congee, and a sake-soy veil. It was incredible. The peas and carrots course of Thumbelina carrots, sweet peas, whipped coconut, and carrot-mint consommé was unlike anything we've experienced before. It was inspired. The fluke was sorrel brioche-crusted and accompanied by razor clam escabeche, sauce romesco, and sea beans, was magnificent. The chef spoke about harvesting the local sea beans himself, and the razor clam purveyor happened to be dining alongside us. It was a memorable and distinctly Cape Cod moment. The intermezzo was a cranberry membrane filled with a refreshing burst of vodka, and delightfully cleansed the palate. The optional foie gras bonbon, encased in milk chocolate, was another triumph. We agreed we would have missed out had we passed on it. It was one of the finest foie gras bites we've ever enjoyed. The tri-tip sirloin course featured American Wagyu with sweet onion soubise and toasted ramp-and-vinegar gnocchi. "Amazing" hardly begins to describe it. The Humboldt Fog cheese course was dramatically torched tableside and served with blueberry shallot jam, toasted milk bread, and smoked almonds. Sublime, artistic, and utterly delicious. The included dessert course featured caramelized white chocolate, lychee, pink guava sorbet, macadamia toffee, white chocolate gel, and olive oil sponge. It was unbelievably good. An optional dessert accompaniment, ordered by every diner, was a layered chocolate, shortbread, and banana tart topped with caviar was a playful and fitting finale. The charming atmosphere, attentive staff, and excellent music had diners on their feet dancing between courses. We finished with their homemade Mignardises and were given a lovely packet to take home which included a homemade scone. This restaurant is wildly civilized. Many courses were served on beautiful handcrafted pieces from Scargo Pottery in Dennis collaboratively designed by the chef and the talented Scargo artist Tina Holl. I offer only praise and gratitude for the extraordinary food, welcoming atmosphere, talented and artistic staff, and a dining experience that reminds us how exceptional Cape Cod dining can be. Clean Slate delivered one of the most memorable meals we've had anywhere on the Cape.

This is a really appealing, intimate, mom and pop (and summer help waitress) place. The hostess/ front of house boss, who was operating from the bar of this 10-12 table location, was gracious and endearing (in the way that an almost overbearing host can be- that meant as a compliment). The drinks took a minute, my fiancé's salad needed blue cheese brought out as it was left off (single most off-putting thing: the waitress, I suspect language mastery being the cause of this rather than malice or willful deceit, flat out told her that blue cheese did not come with the wedge salad...but when boss lady at the bar was asked, this was quickly corrected), there was a heavy does of reggae music. All of this less than optimal. The food was very good, though I can't remember off the top of my head what I had (it's been a month). Nor did I take pics: it seemed like it'd detract from the experience. There weren't any complaints about the food from others. (So I went back and looked at the menu: potstickers as an app- pretty good; baked local seafood as the main- good, but it is what it is in that not a ton of nuance added so as to let the seafood do the talking. The portion was decent for the price. I didn't leave stuffed, but for $38, very reasonable.) All in all, the first visit merits a second visit next year (as the website says they are temporarily closed to seek new management).
